Kari, thoughts on Ash Ketchum?

I'm quite fond of the guy. I was honestly quite sad when I heard he was going to be retired as the anime protagonist. It's just so hard to imagine Pokemon without him, you know? I started watching the show on-and-off when I wasn't even his age, and now I'm nearing thrice his age XD

I still have a very vivid memory of the first time I watched Pokemon as a little kid. It was at a family reunion, when I was like 6 years old, maybe even younger. The adults decided that the best way to make us 20ish kids behave was to put something on the tv in the family room. They decided to put on an episode of Pokemon- specifically, Pikachu's Goodbye, on VHS (because yeah I'm old enough that those were still a thing when I was a kid).

I remember it vividly because practically all of us were bawling when this happened:

And I'll be honest- I also cried when I watched the final episode he and Pikachu were in. I actually cried right from the start because of Misty's departure and the hug between her Psyduck and Pikachu. And of course his victory over Leon made me feel all the feels.

So, thanks Ash, you made me cry the first and last time I watched you on the show :))

Continuation of the Cat Yo-kai ask.

Mick has sadly passed away from old age.

But, he has returned as a cat yo-kai. Nicknamed "Greynyan" by the other cat Yo-kai, Mick now has the ability to talk meaning he can now tell them what he thinks without Shotaro translating.

What are the reactions of the Double cast to Mick's death and resurrection into a Yo-kai.

Well, of course they'd be saddened by Mikku's death, Philip most of all- Mikku was the last member of the Sonozaki family... and the last connection he had to the life he had as Raito, before things all went to hell. He would be devastated by the loss.

Mikky returning as a yokai- and one who can communicate plainly with anyone, not just the resident cat whisperer- would shock everyone... but only for a moment, I think. After all Shoutaro is a magnet for all things weird (remember that yeti he somehow summoned?) and with all the things they've seen and experienced in the Rider business, this is hardly the strangest thing they've ever seen.

And besides, they'd just be happy to have a member of their family back. Even if Mikku can now snark at them all he wants without Shoutaro acting as a translator 😂

(As a side note... Mikku was already at an advanced age for a cat during W. Mikku was at least 12 years old during W, since he was already the Sonozaki family's pet prior to Raito's accident, which occurred 12 years before the series. His particular breed, the British shorthair, have a median lifespan of about 11 years, though many lived 12 or more years. So... yeah, it might happen sooner than later, sadly, unless his being a former Dopant gave him some kind of prolonged lifespan.)

Favorite Pokémon from each region that Ash has caught or traveled with, Kari-chan?

(This list will not count Pikachu for obvious reasons)

Kanto: Squirtle. It's the wholesome gangster persona, the boke-tsukkomi routine with Bulbasaur, the fucking glasses... he has a lot of personality

Orange Islands: Snorlax. I think we all thought it was a bit of a joke when Ash first caught it, but it's been one of his powerhouses ever since. Also, "Snorlax flies?!" will never not be funny

Johto: Totodile. He's just a happy little dude dancing away.

Hoenn: Sceptile. He's been badass since day one and I've liked it ever since. And being one of the select few of Ash's Pokemon to take down a legendary just solidifies it

Sinnoh: Honestly I think Ash's Sinnoh team was peak, but if you had to twist my arm... Staraptor.

Unova: Oshawott. It's cute and spunky. Sorry I didn't watch much of B&W lol

Kalos: Talonflame. Boy pushed himself to outspeed fucking Moltres, took a fire attack, evolved, and earned Moltres' respect to boot

Alola: Rowlet. It's the most badass little borb (birb + orb) ever. I love its personality, its friendship with Meltan... and it's so gosh darned cute!! I got my own Rowlet plushie because of him

Galar/Journeys: Dracovish. He won me over with "UNO LALALA" (its cry in the JP dub)... also the way it just totals everything in its path is so funny

Psyduck's been one of my favorite Pokemon since I was a kid (my other favorites include the Marill line and most of the water starters).

I actually started liking him because of Misty's Psyduck in the anime- I just thought it was cute, derpy, and hilarious. And it was always awesome when its headache got bad enough that it started kicking ass. I was so pleased to see it having become a competent battler by Sun and Moon and basically becoming Misty's signature Pokemon, replacing Togepi (which for some reason I never really liked at all)

My sister and my dad also like Psyduck too. My sis literally has 4 different Psyduck plushies, she's obsessed with them, and we have a lot of inside jokes about stuff we made up about Psyduck when we were kids. My dad's buddy in Pokemon Go is a Psyduck.

Cute Hiromi pics are also appreciated <3 Cute Junya Komatsu pics are too... and maybe some sexy ones lol :p

Well those Yokai Watch songs threw me for a loop because... um... I never actually heard them before now so I was just very confused until I looked up the OP lol

A continuation of every previous my asks that had Kaguya in them.

Kaguya has kidnapped Houtaro and Rinne. He plans on marrying Houtaro and getting "rid of" Rinne to make sure she doesn't get in the way of his and Houtaro's relationship. He was able to disable the Mini-cons due to the suffering they put him through, found a way to seal the Chemies, and even stop all the other Riders and Gotchard Cast by using some knockout gas and put them all in one place that they can not escape because of plot the place being indestructible and having a field that disabled all of their powers. Yes, even Tsukasa and the Jesuses powers. Except Shinnosuke and Sideswipe but they are in the middle of helping the Autobots fight off some Decepticons. Unbeknownst to everyone, Soundwave followed Kaguya and is going to save Houtaro and Rinne and potentially kill Kaguya for what he has done because he swore to protect them and has grown fond of them ever since he met them.

What are the Riders minus Shinnosuke and the rest of the Gotchard Cast reaction to all of this information.

Obviously, they would try to dissuade Soundwave from murdering Kaguya- he IS a heroic Rider, despite him following the wiles of his the brain down below rather than the one in his head. Hopefully, the threat alone would be enough dissuade Kaguya for good...

Though let's be real, they'd also likely have Soundwave capture Kaguya instead so they can participate in the threatening themselves lmao

Psyduck is a cute little anxious duckie who suffers from a chronic illness- so basically me lol

Honestly, I'm gonna sound mean for this- but I started liking Psyduck because of the Pikachu's Vacation short that was shown before Pokemon the First Movie. There was a bit there where Misty's Psyduck ate an apple meant for Misty's Togepi- a Pokemon I disliked for the rather petty reason that it made Misty less tomboyish in my 6-year-old eyes. Psyduck then trotted off without a care in the world, while Togepi promptly started crying again. Idk, it just endeared Psyduck to me ever since.

As for Hiromi... I think I've done enough ranting and raving about him for everyone to know why I fucking adore this man. The fact that Junya Komatsu is absurdly attractive and played Hiromi extremely well and endearingly so helps, too.

The Gotchard Cast decide to learn more about Soundwave before he lost his memories. They learn about his sound-based abilities, his skills as a communications officer and spy, his ability to summon Mini-con type beings, the Mini-Cassettes, and his multiple weapons like his hammer and shield, shoulder-mounted missile launcher, his various blasters, and his tentacles.

(Yes, he has tentacles).

Houtaro seems interested in his ability to summon Mini-Cassettes and Soundwave test this by opening his chest, where he stores the Mini-cassettes.

The Gotchard Cast meet Soundwave's Mini-Cassettes and they seem to get along with the Chemies and other Mini-cons. Soundwave vows to protect the Gotchard Cast even if it kills him and will act as their guardian to protect them from Cybertronian threats like the Decepticons or unwanted visitors like the villains or Kaguya.

What are the Riders reaction to learning more about Soundwave and seeing that he has become a better person to the point that he has become the Gotchard Cast's guardian.

Well, as I mentioned, while the Riders would rightly have their suspicions regarding Soundwave especially where his history in concerned, they're more than willing to extend a hand to someone who has genuinely changed for the better. If Soundwave has truly changed to that point- especially if one of their own vouched for him- then more Riders would be willing to trust him, though there would likely be some holdouts too.
