AFTER ALMOST NINE HOURS OVER THE COURSE OF ROUGHLY 4 DAYS ITS FINALLY DONE

saw this pokemon art template in a server and knew i absolutely had to complete it!!! i feel like i have a very specific taste when comes to favorite characters in this series ahahaha. it was hard narrowing it down for some of these characters (Burgh was a VERY close second for favorite gym leader and Alder and Wallace both hold the title for favorite champion ive just drawn Alder less), but its very serotonin boosting to see all my favorite guys lined up like this!

theres something really special to me abt the johto quartet but i dont really know how to put it into words so heres this quick doodle i whipped up

like, i just think this is neat!

theyve all got that special angled, spiky part of their hairstyle first of all, second of all red is a major part of their designs.

its really interesting to me because, (at least off of the top of my head) i cant think of any other protag+rival group with this kind of design consistency, except maybe the sinnoh trio and their scarves? ESPECIALLY across generations!

I'm about to be so normal about Silver you guys

Okay one thing that's always bugged me about this event is that Lyra/Ethan is so inconsiderate here. Like yeah I get Silver pushed me for no reason but my brother in christ his dad just abandoned him. You just watch this kid's dad, the leader of Team fucking Rocket, abandon him and your first thoughts aren't "Oh I hope that boy is alright" or "Oh that poor boy" but instead it's "Wow that was very unnecessary >:(" CUT HIM SOME SLACK MY GUY HIS DAD JUST LEFT HIM ON THE STREETS

Like I GET IT I really do get it, he looked at me then pushed me for no reason and ran off you can tell him off for that in ANY other instance but he's like- what 7? 8? At least in this time and he just got left on the streets by the only family member we know he has (Ariana is Silver's mom theorists, put your hands down I'm talking about canon) like he was nothing NOW. IS. NOT. THE. TIME.

Also, I think about this line a lot considering what Silver ends up doing in GSC/HGSS.... :(
