NO SUPPORT NO INTEREST FOR FAMILY PET YOUNG BOY #APOLLO WHO LIVED WITH KIDS, & DOGS, RESPECTFUL & TOLERANT WITH THEM. 2 years old, possibly younger, living with painful chronic otitis, THROWN OUT BY HIS HUMANS BECAUSE THEY CAN’T OR WON’T HANDLE HIS ALLERGIES. We don’t even know if they ever took him to the vet! Apollo is fearful of strangers, compounded by the fact that he is deathly scared of someone touching his ears accidentally. YET, when his ears were cleaned by the #ManhattanACC vet, he buried his face in the medical staff’s backs. Yes, he was muzzled but he could have gotten really crazy there, but he didn’t. Apollo loves to play with his toys, unfortunately, that playful side is not seen at the ACC. HE ONLY SEES STRANGERS WHOM HE DISTRUSTS. Apollo gets anxious when left alone at home. EVERYTHING IS STACKED AGAINST THIS BOY WHO IN HIS SHORT LIFE, HAS DONE WELL WITH KIDS & DOGS. ARE WE GOING TO WATCH HIM BE KILLED? We ask you to help this doomed family pet. GET HIM SEEN SO tHIS ANGEL MIGHT SEE HIM. APOLLO NEEDS AN EXPERIENCED ADULTS ONLY HOME WITH NO OTHER PETS FOR NOW AS THE ACC DID NOT EVEN ASSESS HIM. APOLLO NEEDS A MIRACLE & HE NEEDS US NOW. DOG LOVERS PLEASE HELP! SHARING SAVES LIVES! Apollo is at Manhattan NY ACC His main thread on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/112453902274222/posts/1626902270829370/ #SharingIsCaring (at Manhattan Animal Shelter) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSnpajkD4nw/?utm_medium=tumblr

She needs a slow approach and time to warm up. She should never be forced to interact with new people, and should be allowed to greet and initiate an interaction at her own pace. Older, gentle children should have an in-depth interaction prior to adoption. Single dog home/no dog parks: See DOG-DOG. Place with a New Hope partner: Due to Harley Quinn having bitten and killed the small dog in the home when they were left home alone together, we recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide a foster home without other animals and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home. Potential challenges: Fearful Bite history (dog) Potential challenges comments: Fearful: Harley Quinn is described as shy with new people and takes some time to warm up to them. Please see handout on Decompression Period. Bite history (dog): Harley Quinn has bitten two other dogs, with one of the bites leaving scratches and the other bite resulting in the death of a small dog. As the dog she bit that resulted in the dog's death was left alone with her, we do not know the exact circumstances of the bite. However, the dog's body was found in the midst of scattered food.
