so i was just playing omori again and i realised that it’s easy to take the flower meanings in omori at surface level at first - especially the cactus.

basil says that he chose them because “they don’t need much care and can survive even in seemingly impossible conditions” which he then says is because “even kel could take care of a cactus”

but then look at the real world. nobody paid attention to kel - he was never given much care. and he seemingly recovered, got happier, or at least put on the mask. surviving even in seemingly impossible conditions, these conditions being his friend group falling apart as a result of a “suicide” none of them saw coming.

Ahh...as for the blog title, yes. That was the general idea. Mwahahahahah! I'm in your head now! /lh The Marie reverse comfort was a suggestion I got in an ask, actually.

Long-running HC of mine: Marie has always struggled with depression. It was much worse when she was younger and grew up in a household where alcoholism and emotional abuse were ongoing. But between falling for Colm, having a baby, joining the Shaw pack moving to California, and doing a lot of mental health building blocks, she started to heal. But the thing that still gets her is loneliness. So on long stretches when Colm was out of town "for work" (i.e. avoiding his family because of his shame over the gambling addiction and other conflicts), Marie starts to fall back into it. So [Undefined Listener] is coming over to keep her company.

so, a few of you may remember this series i posted back in February of 2022. i was extremely depressed and lonely so i did what any normal human would... i wrote a story about Hotchniss being friends with benefits.

however, that story was posted on this account, where I do not post smut. well, other than that one chapter of SYGB but we don't need to go there rn akshksjsjsj

anyway, basically this would be the spicier rewritten version of that where i don't leave readers in the dark about what went on between Hotchniss after Haley died ;)

I-I guess it depends? My first thought was some sort of uh, music teacher? Maybe a piano tutor or a-a college professor doing those music classes.

T-Though that depends on how the recital goes? Does Sunny manage t-to hide his feelings for long enough that they do the recital? C-Cause I feel like that'd be where these jobs are a thing. But if Sunny still blows up and they don't do the recital I-I think that'd maybe change? I-I vaguely remember this one fic had a resurrected Mari start a r-ramen truck with Hero and I think a n-no death recital that s-still had Sunny break his violin would work out s-something like that. With Mari and Hero starting a f-food thing together l-like a bakery o-or something. I-I guess it just depends on w-who's writing, heheh.

Sticking their tongue out at her, it takes them a minute to process just what exactly it is they’re holding, gasping softly as they turn it over in their hands. “Mari, this is— it’s beautiful. You know I haven’t picked up a bow in a while, so—!” Already they’re getting choked up, quick to near tackle her into a bear hug. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
