its clear that astarion covers up his hurt with anger, as seen when you 'replace' him with another companion in act 3. he instantly backtracks and calls the entire relationship a mistake.

with that in mind, I wonder how he must've been feeling after you reject helping him in the ascension ritual and he storms off, wishing that you'd die screaming. i wonder how he felt when he comes back to his senses, finally free from the blood that was confusing his mind back in dungeon, and realizes that he is completely alone again, without the party, or the rest of the vampire spawn, or, hell, even cazador to go back to. i wonder how he felt when the party defeats the absolute, and what he must've thought when he realizes that he can no longer walk in the sun anymore. when his skin starts burning, he has no one to mend his wounds, say a soft word, or look after him.

do you think he keeps to himself in your old campsites, wishing he hadn't left? hugging his knees, wishing he could take back what he said? after a long time of traveling with others, do you think he can bear the emptiness that he becomes far too aware of every second he's awake? do you think he forces himself to get up when he hears the crowds chanting your name and the others, his feet stumbling over each other, in the desperate hope that he'd get to see your face and the others'? but perhaps, by the time he clumsily manages his way out, the parade has already passed by, and all he can do now is watch your dwindling figures from afar, as he's left behind in the shadows.

#saint.txt #that was a real bad year and a half I'm sorry to everyone who knew me #I have nobody helping me w/ financials so mayhap 5 classes and a job to pay my bills was a mite bit of a bad idea #but even on three + job I struggled. and I was doing sciences and did not have the time to catch up on the basics #of stuff like chem bc I have been out of high school for ages and the courses are not designed for mature students #who do not remember high school content at all and also have lives outside of classes #and I struggle w/ basic math on a good day bc my brain just cannot interpret numbers so. #(three was the minimum to keep full-time student status) #moving onto online classes + different diploma next fall which hopefully? will free up more time for me to be less worried #abt not being able to pay my rent and shit #I also had a lot going on at home at the time which Did Not Help

#the education system is failinggg me #there are no actually suitable schools within a decent vicinity that are able to take me #i haven't gone to any school properly since the first two weeks of this year #and i haven't attended a school consistently for 2.5 years #worst part it isn't even my fault! #i mean ok the first 1.5 years when i was enrolled at this catholic co-ed school kinda were #but i couldn't sustainably go anywhere as a girl i mean. oh i dunno maybe i could have tried harder #but this past year is not my fault!! just there is absolutely nowhere that will take me #distance education is also very full and so difficult to get into and it wouldn't even be an ideal option #the 1 (one) co-ed public school with space i can't even go to because the principal admitted it would not be safe #and now next year is. not looking hopeful #the past couple weeks i've been going to the only school where i have a guaranteed spot - local all girls :( #just for a couple hours a day doing fuck all in the library it's been good for my sleep schedule if nothing else #but i really really do not want to go there as one of three trans boys and no fucking way as a girl. hueduhugh #i still haven't heard back from a few of the options for next year hoping beyond hopes at least one of them will take me #one of the two actually good options has rejected me #so hoping the other good option will have space but god it's really unlikely #i'll take anywhere though i just. huhfriuhg i really need to go back to school man i've missed genuinely nearly half of all my high school #it's. yeah it's really not good #no fucking clue what i'll do if none of the schools accept me for next year. explode mayhaps #and this sucks because i actually really like school i was always SO good at school!! but then the social things prevented me from going!! #and now the slight bit of hope is dwindling! i hate this #anyway. :))
