I don't see this very often in art or costuming, but sometimes "fine" jewelry with precious stones as large as Dream's ruby have additional stones or design features to serve as a counterweight. A counterweight helps the front part of a necklace stay in position and makes it more comfortable to wear. Also it looks cool.

“We’ve been seeing each other at least weekly for three months now, and almost daily this past month. Do you not find me attractive?”

“Okay. I was afraid that if I asked for more than you offered, you’d run away from me again.”

Hob’s professions of love were cut off when Dream grabbed him by the shoulders and began to kiss him.

They stumbled into the bedroom, shucking clothes while maintaining as many points of contact as possible.

“Protection!” Hob gasped, reaching for the drawer he kept his condoms in.

“I have a helm.” Dream’s voice was eerily distorted and Hob turned back towards him in surprise. He was wearing the most godawful bug-eyed leather mask, with rivets and some kind of weird bone proboscis.

“What is that!?” Hob yelped.

“It is my protection.” Dream reached up and pulled it off, cradling it in his arm instead. “But I would rather not wear it, so I can continue to kiss you? Why do we need protection, Hob?”

“Oh! Ha! Yes, I suppose that’s true.” Hob held up the condom in his hand. “It’s a habit. But I guess there aren’t many STIs that can be transferred from human to cosmic entity?”

“No,” Dream confirmed. “But… perhaps this would please you?” And suddenly the helm was dildo-sized, with the apparent texture of molded silicone, the headpiece fitting comfortably into Dream’s hand.

Hob got distracted for a moment imagining those knobbly bumps pressing inside him. Then he shook his head and reached out, stroking down the length of the ugly thing once to let go of the idea, saying, “That doesn’t sound like much fun for you, though, love.”

Dream shuddered, with a breathy moan at the touch.  Then he looked at the condom in Hob’s hand and back at the helm with a considering expression.

“Perhaps this?” he suggested a moment later, and the item in his hand had become a cocksheath, the bug-eyed headpiece just the right size to cup his balls.

“I…I could work with that,” Hob stammered, as it began to dawn on him the options available when fucking an eldritch power. He tossed the condom over his shoulder, and reached out for Dream once more.

Where would I start if I wanted to get into silly rabbit AU? because it feels like something I need in my life right now. do I just dive in anywhere or is there some form of order?

everything is in the '#silly rabbit au' tag and i think we've all been pretty consistent in tagging it! as far as order... the story doesn't have much of a strict order at the moment, it's just random ficlets, it's probably easiest to just go through the tag chronologically :) then the associated art pieces will be nearby and such
