So I was reading the Bhagwata Purana today, and I read about how women are "less intelligent" and less capable of understanding Kanha's supremacy than men for the umpteenth time.
And then I started thinking about Radha and the gopis, the ashta-bharya, Meera, and Andal Devi.
And now I'm just wondering, what if Kanha took up this particular form (as Krishna) just to prove to the world that women are more than capable of loving him much more than men ever could, and of being his biggest devotees.

Bollywood Movies Part CCVII
Tumblr media
Roommates Sid (Dulquer Salmaan) and Kallis (Rakshan) fall for Meera (Ritu Varma) and Shreya (Niranjani Ahathian) respectively. Sid and Kallis are also criminals, using technology to commit crimes such as stripping computers and selling the parts and then returning the computers with inferior components and theft. When DCP Prathap (Gautham Vasudev Menon) starts tracking their crimes, Kallis and Sid decide to go to Goa with Meera and Shreya and their ill gotten gains. However, they discover that Meera and Shreya are con artists after they leave with the boys’ money.
Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal is a fun movie that has romance, betrayal, a chase, and a heist. I don’t have much to say about it except that it was enjoyable and entertained me. Favorite songs are Sirikkalam Parakkalam, Ennai Vittu, and Kanave Nee Naan. None of the songs have subtitles.
Tumblr media
When Champak’s (Irrfan Khan) feud with his cousin Gopi (Deepak Dobriyal) over using the family name for their competing sweets shops causes his daughter Tarika (Radhika Madan) to lose her scholarship to a university in England, Champak decides to help her get in no matter what.
Angrezi Medium is a great film about family, especially the relationship between parents and their children. It’s lots of fun and heartwarming. I enjoyed the parallel shown between Champak and Tarika’s relationship  and Naina (Kareena Kapoor Khan) and Mrs. Kohli’s (Dimple Kapadia) relationship. Favorite songs are Ek Zindagi (English subtitles) and Samajh Ni Pavega (no subtitles, stills and audio).
Tumblr media
Anupama Bannerji (Sanya Malhotra) decides to sue her mother Shakuntala Devi (Vidya Balan) for selling Anu’s business properties and keeping the profit for herself. During the settlement meetings for the case, Shakuntala’s rise to fame as “The Human Computer” is depicted.
Shakuntala Devi is extremely biased as the creatives only based the movie on Anupama Bannerji’s narrative and did not bother to do anything other than superficial research into the events in the movie. While I enjoyed learning about Shakuntala Devi, I think the film does her a disservice. Favorite song is Rani Hindustani (no subtitles).

Why devotees Suffer?
When Yudhisthira was crowned as king of Hastinapur, than Lord Krishna said that he would now like to go to Dwarka. Kunti devi came to see Lord.
Lord Krishna said, “ I am very pleased by your bhakti, ask what you want?”
Kunti devi said, “Oh my Lord! Please give me hardship, difficulties , challenges, poverty.”
Lord Krishna said, “ People ask for easy life full of luxuries and pleaures, why are you asking hardships?”
Kunti devi said, “My lord! The more luxuries and abundance we have, the more we turn towards material realm and forget about you. My ultimate goal is spritual enhancement rather than materialistic pleasure. So please grant me this hardships and difficulties.”
If you got everything but lost Lord Krishna , you lost everythingIf you lost everything but got Lord Krishna by your side, you gained everything!
Similarly, sufferings set by Lord Krishna is for his devotees to grow. For materialistic person, it might seem like suffering, but for spritual person it is grace given by Lord to free him/her from attachments.Prahlad suffered, but his devotion led Lord Vishnu to take avatar. Meera bai suffered, and got merged to deity of Krishna. Arjuna suffered but got Krishna by his side. Sudama suffered and got Lord Krishna crying and running for his meeting. Shabari suffered, and got Lord Rama in her house. Gopikas suffered, and got recognised as epitome of surrender, love and devotion to god. Draupadi suffered, and got Krishna as her friend. Hardships and obstacles are special mercy of god to special devotees. You know, Lord Krishna's nature is different from worldly people. Worldly people are with you when you are happy, Lord Krishna is with you when you are sad. Your questions are unanswered, because he wanted you to search for it. There is a famous poverb:“I once prayed to god for wisdom,he gave me problems to solve so that I can become wiseI prayed to god for courage, he gave me dangers to surmount so I become courageousI prayed to god for strength, he gave me obstacle s to solve so I become strongI prayed to god for love, he gave me down trodden and poors to serve, so I can develop love for them and I develop love.My prayers were answered not by getting what I wanted, but what I needed” - Swami VivekanandaWhen Yudhisthira was crowned as king of Hastinapur, than Lord Krishna said that he would now like to go to Dwarka. Kunti devi came to see Lord.
