"Some background:

Two species of humanoid now inhabit the same planet. One from another dead planet and seeking refuge and a new place to live (the humans). This was met with hostility from the original habitants (the larger one). A war broke out for 10 years, for the humans to come on top in the end. The larger species are now used as a sort of work horse in most cases. Some manual labor, others protecting the area and hunting, etc. there are still Nobels and high ups in politics but the less well-off tend to be put to difficult work and conditions. Even though the humans have the tech to make it easier, just don’t want to waste resources. It’s a political way to keep them down, busy and obedient basically. 🙃

you dramatically flopped on jordan’s bed, not even caring that her boyfriend was literally inches away from punching you in the face for interrupting them.

“what?”

“he mentioned a girl, grace, she was coming over tonight.”

jordan pushed herself off lap, her shirt falling back into place. “say you’re lying.”

“i wish i was. he even left early today. with the twins.”

“no!” jordan let out a dramatic gasp. “that cheeky fucker! there’s no signs that he has a girlfriend at all.”

“right? so that’s why i’m confused.”

shawn sighed. “you’re confused? i’m confused.”

“not now shawn.” both you and jordan turned to face him, stoically faced.

you turned back to jordan. “how could he openly flirt with me when he’s literally seeing someone?”

“you said he’s in the middle of a divorce, right?” you nodded. “he’s probably just mucking around, getting his feet in the pool. you don’t even know if they’re exclusive.”

“well he introduced them to the twins so it sounds pretty fucking exclusive.” you huffed. “i really thought there was something there, you know? it’s been so hard to find anyone over here because men suck- no offense shawn- and the moment i thought i found something that could turn into the relationship i wanted, he’s seeing someone else.”

“why don’t you just ask him?”

“ask my boss about his love life? no thanks.” you scoffed. “i’m not making it obvious that i like him.”

“well considering how girls night went i’m sure he at least likes you a little bit. he touched your knee!”

“thats the thing!” your hands dropped to your lap. “he doesn’t seem like that kinda guy! he seems very much like a mutually exclusive ‘i don’t talk to anyone else while i talk to you’ type of person.”

“listen,” shawn started. “maybe he’s exploring his options you know? not everyone is exclusive during the talking stage.”

“i see your point babe, but i raise you- he just divorced his wife. how could he be seeing someone that fast?” jordan turned to you. “how messy is the divorce?”

“um, i think messy. i haven’t met julia in the months i’ve been working there, it’s only been joe so far.”

“so they probably haven’t been in love for a hot minute.”

“we don’t know that.” you sighed. “i probably put too many eggs in one basket. maybe i should just go back to tinder.”

“no no,” jordan ripped your phone from your hands. “you are not getting on that hellsite just because you think joe is seeing someone else. i’m banning you from tinder.”

“but-”

“no! no buts. if i see it on your phone or hear that stupid little bell it’s on sight.”

“you’re mean.”

“and you clearly need a mimosa. get off your ass about this! it's one mishap. just give it some time and maybe he’ll realize you’re the one for him.”

you rolled your eyes. “yeah like drinking my problems away is going to help.”

“well yeah, you got me there.” she shrugged. “i promise you, if i find anything i will tell you.”

you held out your pinky. “if you break this promise i’m killing you.”

“hey so can i have my girlfriend back now?”

“yeah, sorry. i uh, yeah.”

“don’t go sulk!” jordan gave y/n a pointed look. “i know you.”

“stop reading me like a book, it's weird.”

“it’s not weird, it's intuition. go relax and read a book or something. leave it to me. i got this.”

you raised an eyebrow. “should i be nervous?”

“always.”

with a roll of your eyes you climbed off of jordan’s bed, flipping her off as you went back to your room. she was right— you needed to relax. there was probably a chance he was talking about a friend. men were allowed to have friends. flopping onto your bed, you looked over to your bookshelf to try and figure out what to read. finally finding one, you picked it up off the shelf. you were about to open the book you had grabbed when your phone dinged. a facebook notification popped up on the screen, prompting you to hold it up so faceid could unlock your phone. the notification almost gave you a heart attack as you read what it said over and over again.

“jordan…!” you yelled out, waiting for her reaction. “there’s been a development!”

You were Melli's soft spot. Something about how softly you spoke, yet when it came to the books you'd carry around, you could speak for hours, voice growing with excitement and happiness. . . something about it melted the icy wall around Melli's heart.

He would sit with you in Moonview Arena, Lord Electrode happily resting nearby, and listen to you talk. You had so much to say, so many ideas in your head. He liked your voice, hearing the words spill out of you. He liked how it changed depending on your mood or feelings. He could easily tell whenever you disliked something within your story, or when a character did something you disagreed with

Melli, of course, didn't want you knowing about his soft spot. So he would tease you lightly. He'd call you a book wurmple, wrinkle his nose at the title of your books before demanding you tell him why its so great. Every book you've let him borrow was treated with great care, and given back to you in good condition, with a few of Melli's own opinions attached.

You two would sometimes discuss your books, should you both have read them. You actually liked hearing his opinions and ideas, and though sometimes you argued, you never disregarded him or his feelings. It's partly what pushed from from liking to loving you

So imagine his anger when he arrived at the village for your festival celebration to find you alone, far away from the festivities. He already knew what had you so down, having heard the whispers on his way over. Part of the reason it took him so long to reach you was because he was busy yelling at anyone who had a negative word to say. You were hurting no one, in fact, you saved everyone, so how dare they speak that way of you?

Melli sat at your side, and asked about the book you were holding. You just held it to your chest and murmured about not wanting to annoy him, and his anger grew tenfold. He almost marched off to start yelling again, but forced himself to stay calm for you

He threw aside his own nerves to tell you that you are great, you're a hero, and you are free to speak and do as you please. Those who mind aren't worth your time. The only opinion you should care about is his, for he's the Great Melli, and you're the great hero.

He loves you too much to see you shut yourself down for some snooty villagers.

You smiled at him, showed him your book, and shyly told him it was a love story. Melli smiled in return, and happily settled in for your thoughts on the tale, and how sweet it was that the love interest always somehow knew what to say to make the character feel great <3

hi completely unsuspicious anon who i was not literally just talking to about this topic. thank you for allowing me to subject my followers to the melli thoughts that i have in my brain

so like. i know melli is not well loved. i am so fucking aware of this. i personally upon watching him walk into a room in the first youtube letsplay i watched of pla immediately got attached and decided This One's My Favourite, Actually, but i don't pick normal favourites so that's par for the course. people think he's annoying. he is so fucking mean to the player character and also everyone else. i didn't realise how mean he was until playing the game and like holy shit he is an asshole sometimes. However.

theres this line sourced from bulbapedia (that i did not know about until WELL after i started being Not Normal about melli but it provides a good basis) that is "According to Mai, he used to be very shy and withdrawn, until he one day announced that he would work hard to help Adaman." So You Can Imagine Where This Is Going

melli is such a complex character. and like i havent played through the entire game so maybe he has even More stuff going on that im unaware of but from what i can tell, he's Like That because if he isn't Like That he doesn't know what to do with himself. fake it til you make it sorta deal. he Has to be the best and he's gotta keep telling himself he is the best or he starts floundering. he's very set in his ways which arguably isnt a good thing, he is wrong Frequently, but he also really just has adaman and the clan's best interests at heart, he's just. Like That about it

one really interesting thing to me is after you catch the first sinnoh to come through the rift (in my case palkia, which miiiight affect how this turns out?? but i don't know) he essentially goes to adaman and says "if you do not give me something to do right this moment i am going to fucking die" and like. i saw that and was like oh he is stressed stressed. this man is straight up not having a good time and his orders are currently to just... wait? stand around? the world is falling apart around his ears the rift is spewing out energy (right over his beloved moonview arena and lord electrode, too) and he isn't being told to start doing something? he can contribute, you know, he's not useless and adaman should be giving him something to do so that he doesn't just have to stand there feeling like he is useless

i do not think he should have insulted lian by the way he was mean to a nine year old about his funny hat and like don't do that melli that's not nice :(

but there's a REASON he's worse than usual during that period of time!! the world is currently Fucking Exploding, adaman is refusing to get him to do anything because there's not much he can do, and so he is panicking ! and that comes out as Just Really Rude To Everyone regardless of how much he cares about them. like that's the first and only time he's mean to adaman i think. and yknow obviously that's not a good way to express that you're having a Bad Fucking Time but he doesn't really seem to know how else to deal with it

it's very important to me that people understand melli is full of love. he's not just an asshole who is so mean to you ! he cares SO DEEPLY about lord electrode, which is why he's so set on you not unfrenzying it. he's just. wrong. and absolutely terrible at accepting that. he loves moonview arena, he loves the clan, he loves dialga, basically everything he does in the game is fueled by one of a) being absolutely terrible at accepting when he is wrong b) not knowing how to function without hyping himself up at every turn and c) being so full of love for the things around him he makes bad decisions. love is stored in the melli!!! you have to understand this!!!! it's in there!!!!!

more additions to the ingo on social media post i had:

im yoinking an idea from @cell113 with permission to fix my plothole, ingo thinks he’s like. posting these pics to a gallery. he’s using it kinda like a diary, where he can store his memories? he’s got plenty of pictures but its like scrap booking only the best/most important get put in the gallery. this means that unless something eventful happened 80% of his early posts are sneasel pics or landscape pics because,, he’s on a mountain. aint much up there. the point is he doesnt know other people can see what he’s posting.

anyways one of the first pics to break the wholesome trend (it also breaks the daily post streak ingo has kept up) is an extremely blurry picture of a figure in what can barely be recognizable as a white subway master coat, albeit ripped and tattered. theres what might be blood smeared across it??? the face is too blurred to make out as they loom over the camera, but theres a fanged smirk just barely visible. the caption is simply it looked like me. why was it smiling?

(the mods on the site try to take to picture down a couple times for content violation, yknow. blood lmao. ingo keeps reposting it, worried that his diary is glitched, which increasingly confused captions like

My #1 post of 2022

ive seen a few akari has internet on the arc phone posts but hear me out:

ingo, his divine xtransceiver, and moderated social media

moderated so he doesnt break the time line ofc

it starts after the inital fuss of ingos fall into hisui, after being rescued and be selected as Lady Sneaslers warden. when the dust settles, ingo finally has time to look at the belongings that came with him. the odd watch like device he had that doesnt tell time he sets aside at first, its original position taken by the warden bracelet that is a sign of his position. but somehow its face flares with light, and it is transformed, slightly. golden lines and white planes replace black and red faces, and what he had assumed to be blank instead shows... him?

anyways he figures out it take photos! and the first post (why he’s posting and how he knows how to post is handwaved pls, idk myself lol) is a verrrrry close up photo of his eye. the handle is wardeningoPC which i bet would confuse some people on what the PC means. pokemon center? pokemon coordinator? (its pearl clan)

the account starts small back in the future, mostly pictures of the mount coronet landscape at different times, with captions in a weird mix of galarian and old sinnohan. the posts garner a small following, some rather concerned when ingo posts a picture from lady sneaslers cave of the raging blizzard outside. ingo can see the comments, mostly, but doesnt tend to reply. anyways he takes alot of these pics, and they look really nice. divine cameras have really nice resolution yknow

and then lady sneasler has kits. and what else would he want to take pictures of after that?? the people in the future are going absolutely bananas because this random guy is posting pictures of a completely extinct variant of pokemon, and babies at that. this is where the moderation comes into effect, as research inquiries, bribes, and even threats flood the account wanting to know about/obtain these rare mons. ingo sees none of this, most explicit mentions of the future are removed anyways. not sure if that moderation can be seen in the future though? ingo replies so rarely people would be unable to tell what he sees and doesnt see anyways

the sneasel pics skyrocket the account to internet fame in a week. people are speculating on who the account belongs to, what kind of pokemon are shown in the photos, where the owner is, etc.

(mmm i have more thoughts but thats for later i think)

MEMO IS LITTLE FLEDGLING (ofc i know that already) BUT STILL seeing it spelled out like that again sjdbfhdhdjdjdjsajdhdhs Also, isn't the host is Luchino, and yet he's quite knowedgeable about "her" past (the fact that it's either very nostalgic or very traumatic isnt helping). Interesting how the doll isnt Orphy, but the way she describes is definitely him. Plus, im very happy to see more insight on how she views Orphy doll and what does it mean.

I love how he's confident about his "instinct" here, in a way, i think he trusts his subconcious forgotten memories and forgotten identities.

My first reaction to this was "aw, cute, she cares", and then i remember she probably sees others as poor little bugs...

entry 6 ... my house is beautiful

i own a lot of conejo but its a community space for anyone to be in .. i do have a space tht is like my "house" w a lot of artifacts inside, its locate in a corner of the maiden garden

a big open space is so appealing but its easier for things to feel homey and cluttered for less Li in a small house like this.. i think it was actually a freebie prefab from a sim i visited.. all i did to modify it was add a prim w/ a Source engine tile as well as a red curtain to simulate a more ornate entrance..nyways..LETS actually talk about my house

this area is where i have "home" set so i always log on ontop of this bed.. portraits of hlpt characters done by cpu sister & flowers from her vn .. and a inspirational image on the ceiling

this is one of those futons that lifts a blanket when you sit on it, so your avatar is actually tucked in.. its sooo cute, i think it was very cheap too

directly out of the bed room theres a living room area .. i dont know what else to say other than its very cozy.. and i have my own paintings framed on the wall.. because i like them.. that tv is from MARUSHIN.. its one of the best items i have, its just so detail it really outstands me.. if you sit on it it gives u options to eat potato chips or play console among other things.. i always appreciate when furniture has really unique features like that rlly enhance feeling of a virtual world rther thn purely use for a static photoshoot set

then theres the office area..

framed is a blobfish wafa made by my girlfriend(i love this picture SO much!) and a picture drawn by fabric of mel,tan,mellie & me in our lucky conejobeat outfits (i love this picture SO much!)

and ofc what a second life personal home without like a super decked out computer desk for no reason because you could have anything else but we second life players just love the computer so much so always a YES to the computer shrine!

ive had a setup adjacent to thsi in almost every place i lived in in sl, the bunny monitor, bunny chair, old school tablet and old school pc have been present in almost every "house" i made.. only recently is this monitor red, the picture on that monitor is a real pic of me on my desktop w a recolored miku model (my own recolor) loaded up on mmd.. the other computer monitor has a fake desktop that was created for hlpt in place

on the left,theres the quadrupedal wafa plush and a plush vampirebunny rein made for newyears a couple years ago.. & on the right is another one of the plushies i made with a chaos emerald.. covering slightly a farojacube.. behind a 3d recreation of a real life paper craft bunny i made (out of breath..)

my house is tiny so thts it.. obviously a lot of "personal" stuff in it but thts w any sl home, people are oging to put personal memories around.. one of my fav things abt exploring and entering empty house is seeing if theres any pics of the avatars.. if u go sailing ull see a lot of those houses have trophies for sailing or trophies for fishing.. things like tht.. im not the only one like this~
