I’ve gotten comments, asks, and messages on here and on AO3 from people who are reading Queen’s Choice(s) but haven’t played the source mobile otome game Mr Love: Queen’s Choice, and for these wonderful readers, I have taken the opportunity to do the fake PowerPoint cheat sheet meme that I have always wanted an excuse to do.

NB that not all of this is accurate to the actual canon of the game.

Okay but I need that sweet sweet domestic OT5 because we’re severely lacking that in the mlqc fandom

So many characters nonny, haha! And then Helios and Ling Xiao have to be added to the mix of course...oof. I could never write it properly, but because it’s fun to think about here are a couple of headcanons.

Kiro and Gavin have intense video game battles with MC where they eat a lot of chips and MC wears Gavin’s hoodies.

Victor and Lucien fight like cats but stop the second MC comes into the room.

Victor and Gavin get extra nights with MC by the three of them spending them together. Gavin gives Victor his nights when he’s away and vice versa.

Kiro tells MC she should have a night off if he has to be away, but she sneaks into bed with one of the other boys instead.

Lucien never, ever misses his night with MC. If he suspects one of the other boys has had sneaky afternoon time with MC on his day he is not happy.

Victor always reminds him “You don’t get the whole day, you get THE NIGHT.” It’s 90% of their fights.

They all love their girl so much. She’s everything that’s holding them together and the boys make sure they keep her smiling.

Queen’s Choice(s) ch 11 updated, with my version of Ling Xiao 凌肖, a character who debuts in Ch. 11 of the game also, funnily enough, so he doesn’t have an official English name yet, but I’ve given him the name Jacob. That’s him on the right, contrasted with his half-brother Gavin on the left.

Queen’s Choice(s) ch 12 update and some Forbidden Chinese

So Victor (the tsundere of MLQC) has the charming (...) canon nickname of “idiot” for the MC in canon, and in my poly ot5 fic, he’s gotta have insulting nicknames to hide his feelings for all his lovers, and because I’m me and I'm writing a fic where everybody code switches, he has them in English AND Chinese:

Lucien: 色狼 se4lang2 creep

Literally "sex wolf", the Chinese is more specifically lecherous than "creep" is.

Kiro: 熊孩子 xiong1 hai2zi brat

Literally “bear child”, this is the word that a grumpy grandpa would say to describe some kid running amok at the restaurant while he’s trying to eat his meal in peace. But not necessarily not affectionate.

Gavin: 少年犯 shao3nian2fan4 punk

Literally "juvenile delinquent". But Victor also calls him 拜金男孩 "golddigger" as a deliberate misinterpretation of Gavin's reaction to Victor giving him a wedding ring. In actual fact Victor and Gavin are both by far the most romantic of the five... for the most part they mutually tacitly pretend not to know this.

In ch. 18 I made a Freudian slip in my typing that was so apt that I turned it into an actual in-fic incident:

“Victor, now that you’re here, maybe you and Emme can do the massage thing? There was a voucher pushed under the door when we got here for a free hour of massage. Can't beat that, right?”

“I don’t really like…” Victor started to give his honest opinion, which is that he didn’t like strangers putting their hands all over him, and saw Emme’s face fall again. She really wanted that massage. “Sounds great.”

“No, you don’t want to. I’m sure we can find someone we all like to do,” Emme said.

Kiro cracked up, and Victor smirked as well.

“What? What did I say?”

“Yeah, I’m sure we can find someone we all like to do,” Kiro snickered. “Should it be Gavin or Lucien?”

“Something! I meant something!” Emme protested, waving her hands in front of her red cheeks. "I really just misspoke!"

Queen’s Choice(s) ch 6 update, in which I have given up on the idea that I am capable of writing something without a plot; but still, don’t expect this story to really follow a conventional narrative structure, because that’s not how I went into this. A storyline just showed up and then wouldn’t leave.

Ch. 6 is subtitled “fight fight fight fight” because, well:

“It’s alright, Emme,” said Gavin. “We’re not actually going to physically fight. I just want to make my opinion clear.”

“I agree with your opinion,” said Victor.

“Good.”

“Good.”

This is not good, thought Emme...

and also:

Kiro had gotten [SPOILER] pinned against his kitchen table with one of his own kitchen knives against his throat. “You’re going to tell me everything I want to know and fast,” Kiro said, no trace of innocent pop star darling on his face now, “or you’re never going to tell anyone anything ever again.”
