It's taken me far too long, but I've finally redone my rules page! So please give them a read here! Some things are the same but I've also added some new things that are pretty important. I've also updated my own personal page here! I'm planning on redoing my pinned post and going in to spruce up Goro's about page, hopefully, in the next few weeks!

We're here to host all the silly and crazy names you might find while playing any of the splatoon games! Please look below for how-tos, rules, and faqs!

How this blog works:

We are a submission based blog. Which means in order to send in your names we ask that you use the submission page (linked for convenience). PLEASE USE THE SUBMISSION PAGE! I cannot stress this enough. We will take submissions in the form of asks but the submission page makes everything SO MUCH SMOOTHER. You can even add in the tags for us!

Additional note, I have seen some trouble regarding people using links to add images to the post rather than uploading the image directly, and unfortunately if I cannot see the picture I cannot add it to the queue.

Rules:

We take submissions via images AND text, but if you are submitting a name via text PLEASE BE CLEAR ABOUT WHAT THE NAME IS. The stories behind the names are fun, but sometimes I don't know what the actual name is supposed to be and it gets rather confusing.

Please do not submit any names that contain slurs in any capacity. If we're aware it's a slur it will be deleted.

Names that contain dirty words are okay, but please check the "nsfw text" tag on the submission page if you send it in.

More often than not we will take names down upon request if it belongs to you or if it��s highly insensitive. Please keep your inquiry civil however.

If you see a name you don’t like please do not harass the submitter of the name, as they may be unaware of what it means.

Keep in mind that if we get a lot of posts, it might take up to a week for your post to show up.

On that note if you would like to inquire if your submission came through you’re allowed to do so, however we ask that you either do it off of anon so we can look for your name or tell us what the name was so we can check.

If you have questions or concerns please do so off anon so we can answer privately if need be.

FAQ

Is it okay if I submit a name that might have been posted?

Yup! We have no issues posting repeats as long as they’re spaced out enough. If you submit them close to each other however we will either queue it later or delete it, sorry!

That name has over 10 characters, that person couldn’t have seen it.

Or they could be rewording how they saw it, or translating it, or maybe they didn’t and it just doesn’t matter. This blog is for fun and to have a good laugh, not a contest.

Are there any other kinds of names you won't accept?

Some jokes can get old fast (at one point we had like 50 submissions that said 'daddy') in which case I will probably stop adding them to the queue. Otherwise I'm down for anything, even jokes I may not understand.

How active is this blog? Wasn't it dead for a while?

Yeah it's pretty much just based on the mood of the mods. If the blog ends up going radio silent again, sorry! But none of us are obligated to maintain it and can easily have more important things to worry about.

Will you still take submissions from splatoon 1 and 2?

Sure! If you have them we'll take them.

That Pinned Introduction Thingy, Because Why Not

Hello there! I'm Maiden in Orange, but you may call me Maiden or Orange! I'm an aro-pan woman, and I use she/her pronouns.

I'm a fanfic writer for danmaku games, usually the Len'en Project, but I've been wanting to write more for Touhou recently. While I'm still relatively new as a participant to fandom in general, I'm a lurker and writer of about ten years now. I mainly write angst and horror, but I've recently been branching out into other genres like comedy and AU fics with heavy worldbuilding. Heavy worldbuilding is more than a bit of a running theme with me actually lol.

Besides writing, I am quite the nerd for biology, linguistics, archeology, and many other natural sciences (as well as a general fascination with how people work). I also rather like many a Nintendo game, as well as quite a few indie games like the Project Moon 'verse. I also draw from time to time, though I prefer reblogging pretty art because you artists are something else. What can I say, I like my cute things (even if I usually torment them in the end, because I also like my horrible monsters and morbid humor lol).

I also have an original work called "Project Farside", which I occasionally post about the main characters of (most of these are located in the "Project Farside" and "musings about Farside and the Nearsiders who wander there" tags on my blog). I don't get asked about them too often, but that's okay because I really like writing about Len'en characters and the crazy world(s) they inhabit. But the OCs are there, so you'll see them from time to time.

So yeah, that's it about me! Not too interesting, but people apparently find me funny lol. You can find my AO3 under the same name as here, and feel free to stay a while! Or don't. I can't see, so I can't judge (not that I cared to to begin with). OOC UPDATES

I updated my rules page again, but in case you don’t feel like actually re-reading them because they are four pages long, here are the changes I made:

Under ‘Reasons I May Unfollow / Block: ‘If I notice you interact with two people I’m personally uncomfortable with, I may potentially unfollow or softblock as my reaction to seeing them on my dash is really that bad, but I won’t be mentioning who they are and what they have done unless you privately message me about it, because I don’t want to draw negative attention towards them.’

Added an amendment to the rule of pre-established interactions, where if the first meeting scenario has an interesting enough premise, I might make an exception when it comes to my rule on non pre-estabished interactions, but due to me preferring continuity, relationships wise, I may later drop the first meeting thread and start another thread with you that would take place after the events of the first meeting thread, if only because I don’t want to continue being stuck in the ‘two strangers who just met for the first time’ phase. Seriously, it’s just not my favourite thing to write!

Reworded a paragraph to now say: ‘Please keep in mind that Gin, Kobato, Sasara, Ryuto, and Akira are Japanese characters in a Japanese setting, which means I will be writing them as such; therefore, they will address other muses using honorifics (or by last name in Akira’s case) and will not be able to converse in English, aside from maybe Ryuto. Due to this being the case, I will naturally default any interactions with Akira to occur in Japan and default any interactions with my Caligula muses to occur either in Redo or modern day Japan unless I’m writing Ryuto.

Clarified that while I myself will exclusively ship with one canon character at a time to make myself feel more comfortable, you aren’t obligated to exclusively ship with my interpretation of a muse as well. I also mentioned the only Sonia Nevermind I will exclusively ship my Akira with is @more-than-a-princess and the only Yuzuriha Kotoko I will exclusively ship my Kobato with is @agnina​.

Rules

What is a Reverse Bang?

In a typical fandom big-bang fic is written first and then art is created for the fic.  In a Reverse Bang, the art is created first and the fic then created for the art.  Creators will have up to six months (depending on when they sign up) to create any of the accepted forms of art for fic to be written from!  Once matched, writers will have three months to work with their artists to create a fic with a minimum word count of 5K.

Minimum Age

The minimum age for participation is 16.

Artists/Writers under 18 may not submit anything explicit. 

ART

Art for this event covers many categories of creation including but not limited to: Traditional Medium, Digital Art, Gif Sets, Fan Vids, Mood Boards, Photo Manips/Collages.  Creators may submit up to 4 works.  You do not need to know how many you will do at sign ups, just by the submission dates for writer claims.

Art Requirements

Traditional and Digital Art - At minimum must be fully ‘inked’ line art.  Quick sketches will not qualify.  If in doubt, reach out to a mod for review. Minimum size - 500px square

Photo Manips - must have significant editing (i.e. more than just a filter) and lead to a prompt of some kind.

Gif Sets - Minimum of four gifs.  Each gif has a minimum size of 250px wide.  Together, the gifs must lead to a prompt of some kind.

Fan Vids - Minimum length - 1 minute

Mood Boards, Photo Manips/Collages - Minimum size - 500px square

Playlists -  Minimum number of songs - 8. Maximum two hours of music.  Must lead to a prompt of some kind.

General

~ Art may not be publicly displayed or shared (including but not limited to Discord, streaming, tumblr, or AO3) prior to posting date. Sharing with betas in private is OKAY but part of the excitement of the event is the big reveal on posting day, so keep it quiet. 

~ Art Submissions for Writer Claims - At this point, art will be submitted via a form with a list of Do Not Wants (DNW) for fic content. This can include ratings, triggers, squicks, warnings, ships, etc.

Fic Minimum Word Count 

- 5K -

Claims

~ Claims are anonymous.

~ Claims will be done via a ranking system. Authors will be given a list of art, each with a ‘code’. They will then give their top five requests in order. Only the mods will see this ranking and assign partners based on these rankings.

~ Authors who do not adhere to their artists DNW lists will not be allowed to participate in future events.

General

~ Writing must be entirely new and based on the art claimed and matched with and not posted anywhere prior to posting date.

~ Authors must work with their artists on the content and plot of the fic. This works in reverse as well. Since art is not required to be completed by claims, if there are any changes that are to be made, they should be made together and with communication going both ways on what direction to go in.
