Thought it might be fun to do a plant introduction series, since they bring me so much joy! This is my first ever plant, I got her three years ago and her collective name is Italy.

They’re three little cacti; the tallest one is Florence, the fluffier one is Tuscany and the little one is Rome. I’m going to be honest I had no idea what they were specifically when I first got them but I think I’ve got it worked out now. Florence is a Fairy Castle Cactus and she’s pretty slow growing but can get quite tall! She’s definitely grown since I got her! I still have no idea what Tuscany is despite my research so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Little Rome is a Monk’s Hood (which makes me giggle for some reason) but to me more specific a ‘astrophytum ornatum var. mirbelii’. Also slow growing.

I water them once a week during the summer months and later spring and early autumn but during winter I tend to leave them be. They’ve only been repotted once but I figured once I have more space I’ll separate them and move them to bigger pots!

Hope this was interesting and I’ll probably do my next one in a few days/maybe a week.
