Honestly, while I'm in the mode of thinking hard about Amnesia games: I was also very into A Machine for Pigs - because, to be quite honest, that game was pretty much the first thing that pulled the 'you're playing the monster' twist where I viscerally felt the horror. I was particularly fascinated by the music. I still put the songs on playlists when I'm aiming for a certain spooky atmosphere and I was listening to one recently. There's that one track called "Mors Praematura". It doesn't seem to matter what song came before it, it blows out my eardrums every time and scares the shit out of me.

What made you ship it?

Mors Praematura. I think that's the start of it for me, the first meeting did plants seeds but it was Mors Praematura that did it and every little interaction after.

Shaw lending her her gun and then going: "Okay, that was kind of hot."

And then: "Don't make me look bad."

After that, we were off to the races.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

I like how they're unconventional, and on another show with different actors, it could be one note and flat.

It's lightning in the bottle, the writers weren't intending for them to happen but saw it anyway and wrote towards it. Also, both of them are in some spectrum in the DSM-V from one end to the other.

But in the end, I loved that Root loved Shaw exactly as she is. She didn't want to change Shaw or fix her or make her better.

Root loved Shaw for who she is. And it's why the Machine loved Shaw too.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

For some reason this must be said but: Shaw is also just as smart as Root is, in different ways. There was some fanon that made it into fic that wrote Shaw as only the Brawn Jock.

Shaw presents herself as a jock but she's as nerdy. She's just not computer nerdy. Shaw was a brilliant doctor before she was kicked out of the medical program for bullshit reasons.

Miro Does POI: A Season 3 Update

Hello friends! I’ve been pretty quiet on this tag lately. (For folks who are new here (and holy hell there are a lot of you) check out #miro does POI for what this is about.) Part of that is because I’ve been super busy irl and writing a lot in another fandom so I haven’t made much progress with watching POI. But part of it is because I haven’t been moved to do episode reactions to the ones I have watched. The gif-full posts take time and effort and just aren’t fun when I’m not excited about the episode. But I am still (slowly) watching so in case anyone is interested, here’s a rundown of the season 3 episodes I’ve seen so far.

03x01 Liberty: I did a full reaction to this one!

03x02 Nothing to Hide: My notes at the beginning say Leslie Odom Jr! And at the end say LESLIE ODOM JR!!!!! Also, I’m pretty sure Bear would have killed that guy rather than just biting him. I actually liked this one and had planned to do a full write up but never had time.

03x03 Ladykiller: I could have sworn I made a short post about this but I guess I didn’t tag it #miro does poi so now I can’t find it. The part with the women dressing up and going to the club was painfully awkward. This was pretty meh and I wasn’t motivated to write about it.

03x04 Reasonable Doubt: I hated this one.

03x05 Razgovor: This was fine. Idk I don’t really have anything to say about it.

03x06 Mors Praematura: Ok this one was pretty good. It had some lovely Rinch moments of John being worried about/protective of Harold. Good Bear content. The Shoot chemistry was there: I definitely see why people are into it. And I’m loving Leslie Odom Jr. as a recurring bad guy.

I might take the pressure off myself to do full gif-y reaction posts and just do short commentary like this.

Harold’s spying is atrocious. I see him following their number and I feel he’s going to get caught the next second (plus, his heels make noise).

Well, shocked I am not. 

Where have I seen this number before? Asnwer: nowhere (i doubt I remember him from the thin red line, tbh) He reminds me of Mark Strong though (it’s the voice).

John looks bored. Can’t say I blame him. Harold gets all the excitement today. 

Oh, wait. 

The awkward moment I would remember zlich of what the machine says... 

The Machine is kind of a psychopath. Not just people then.

Unpopular opinion: I think Root's hair in season 3 is the best.

How is this even an unpopular opinion when you speak the objective factual truth tho?????

Also Root Path is very clearly and without doubt The Ultimate Hair Episode, and there can be no logical argument against this statement whatsoever:
