That finale! I have a lot of feelings. I’m still emotional. We were fed with amazing Nace, but it still wasn’t enough. I give you Always, Forever - a Nace happily ever after with a supernatural twist.

I’d been working on the epilogue to The Space Between (Season 4 speculation fic) for a while, but made a push and finished the draft the night before the finale aired (and betaed by the amazing, incredible @likestosolvethepuzzle in a day - thank her for a certain pest’s nickname and many other fab ideas).

You do not have to read The Space Between to read this fic - it works as a standalone. There are a few references to story elements (and a few ghosts), but I don’t think they’ll mar your enjoyment. I hope you get all the Nace feels! Note this ends on a sweet and spicy note - it is Nancy and Ace’s wedding night after all. It was written with love for this show and the characters, and all the people who created it.

🕯on a scale from 1 to 10 how much do you enjoy editing? why is that?

I'd say... a solid 7? I usually edit a bit as I go, simply because I might come up with something that impacts a situation that happened earlier and I need to go back and change that while I remember it. I also edit once I'm done to try and catch any left behind half-finished sentences. It's good, it meeds to be done, but sometimes I feel like I need to know when to stop before I veer off and edit things into oblivion.

Space AU series by kuurama (AO3)

Run, don't walk, SPRINT LIKE USAIN BOLT TO THIS SERIES. Had me from the first sentence of the first part until the very last sentence of the second part, at which point I had cried more times than I care to admit. Gorgeous prose, continuously makes you sit back and have an existential crisis. 10/10 would be destroyed again.

Honestly, anything by these two geniuses, but this one especially. Can't walk past Dumle without having to clutch my chest to make sure my heart won't escape me. So soft, and with the kind of hope that makes you feel tender at the edges.

A goddamn MASTERPIECE. Fucking glorious progression that builds and builds and you become so invested in both Jan and Nace and the something that is brewing between them. Whenever I get the update notification I immediately have to go sit down because I know that one way or the other, it will take me out.

I love ERS's Kinktober verse with all my heart and whatever shreds remain of my soul, but soulmate AUs will always own me, and this one is so gorgeous and clever in its concept and execution, and though I thoroughly swoon at the two main constellations, it was the bonus chapter that truly took me out.

An absolutely devastating what if scenario that feels so real I constantly ask myself if we're not looking at a very, very possible future. Heartbreaking, jawdropping, consistently mindblowing prose.

i do, though i haven't been reading much as of lately (not because nothing is nice, just not in the mood)

as of pairings i read whatever really, but yeah i may like JaNace a bit more and lately i've been developing a soft spot for BoKris 💕 however, i think that my absolute favourite is Kris/Jan, though it's a bit rare

now some recommendations hmmm... there are so many great fics in the band tag in ao3 honestly. a few that come in my mind right now are these:

Ko me tvoj objem zakriva (When I'm in your arms) by anonymous main pairing: Kris/Bojan this has to be one of my favourite fics ever! it's a long one and i rarely can keep up with long fics but my god... it's so well written, every scene radiates emotions that get you in the right mood, every character involved in the plot is developed in a way that keeps you interested in them too and not only the main pairing of the story (which is something i personally like). also love the rest of the KMTOZ!saga and the Vse kar vem!verse stories <3 (@ Vse kar vem!verse author if you ever read this just know i love your work and i'm kissing you in the forehead)

Incoming video call request - Bojan Cvjetićanin by Calli_Thaala main pairing: Kris/Bojan i've laughed and almost cried at this one. another well written story which i pretty much read in one sitting. the plot twists in this one come one after the other (mild spoiler: the pairing plot twist towards the end HELLO?????) and keep you interested in reading chapter after chapter. definitelly recommend

the night shift by beeoftheanxieties main pairing: Jan/Nace idek what to write about this fic except for that it's one of the sweetest fics i've read and i wish it was longer but also kinda am glad that it is as long as it is

and I wish I could love you (but I always mess up) by beeoftheanxieties main pairing: Jan/Nace this is a one shot and things get dirty kinda fast but also the setting until they get there? please 😭🥹

god turn me into a flower by machinedarling main pairings: Kris/Bojan, Kris/Jan idk how much into hanahaki desease stuff you're in, but personally i love such fics and this one is no different. i'm afraid that if i try to comment more on it i'll end up spoiling stuff so yeah i'll stop here

When I Fall, Will You Catch Me? by JediBinx main pairing: Nace/Käärijä this is a kinktober series so nsfw, the tags on the fic are very explanatory. but besides porn after porn after porn there's also plot, which makes it even more interesting if you ask me. also the pairing?!?!?! at first i was like "okay this is a weird one i haven't seen before" but after reading two chapters i warmed up so much to the dynamic i ended up loving it so yes of course i recommend it

Until the Night is Over by OpheliaAugustaGray main pairing: Jan/Nace this one made my heart flutter so many times and also (mild spoiler) baker!Nace??!?!?!!?! this really wasn’t in my bingo card for any fic but i loved seeing him portrayed like that. a very nice addition is the amount of Igor action, i really loved the cat having an almost main role in this 🫶

pretty much everything SamePlaceandTime aka @reserved-fruit has written. the BoKris promts fics are so good i reallt can't recommend just a few so i recommend them all lol

If JO were active internet fangirls, what kind of position would they go for in the fandom they're part of? (i.e. news poster, walking wikipedia, fanfic writer etc.)

ok, i'm assuming they are on tumblr because i don't know that much about other places

kris: news poster, but also would reblog posts to organize everything, so if you needed pictures from a certain concert you'd go on his blog and you'd be able to search exactly what you need

bojan: brings in content from other social media (mostly tiktok edits and memes)

jan: makes the nicest gifs you've ever seen. also may secretly run a sideblog with detailed fic recs

nace: fanfic writer, but mostly longfics. writes the funniest tags

jure: engages with everyone and connects blogs together

2. least favorite fic you wrote this year

probably under the boardwalk, my sequel to my first Melody Valentine fic that focused more on Melody/Munroe, which i wrote for Riverdale POC Week 2021. just bc we found out Melody is wlw like, a month later or something (what is time anymore, i truly can't remember when rvd actually aired this yr lol) and i kinda wish i'd written Melody with a woman in that fic now! but i made Melody definitively bisexual and with Nancy in the do you like or like like me? universe to make up for it LOL

this is so hard and there are so many fics i would rec, but for bughead i'm gonna go with A Perpetual Estrangement by @satelliteinasupernova, a delightful Persuasion AU! get on the train, it's a fun af ride so far <3
