There is no logic in nekotalia. Germany, Russia and Sweden are blonde but their cat versions are mostly black for some reason, America is yellow blonde but neko!America is snow white with a black collar although there are no white animals with black collars
I think it’s more based on what species they would be rather than what their hair color is cause that wouldn’t be as fun!
Neko america is supposed to be a maine coon and the markings are a reference to his bomber jacket and glasses!
But yeah it’s definitely a weird au to have be canon lol

Whenever I came across to this Nekotalia sketch, I always wondered who's peaking on Finland.
It kinda looks like Neko! Sweden but he's not the type of person to stalk, so it's probably Denmark since the shadow is quite fluffy.
