My thoughts on Baldur's Gate 3

This might just be the best RPG game ever created, and whatever you say game devs this should be a new benchmark for RPG game development! Let me touch down on some great, less great and just general experiences and thoughts around playing through this game ^_^

What they did amazing

This game feels like it took the best parts of Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Dragon Age Origins, 2 and Inquisition, Divinity Original Sin and Witcher 3 and just made the optimal game ever.

The character creator - amazing. All the choices you need without being overly complicated. Lots of beautiful moving hair. Does not make you create your character in the green light of the Fade (looking at you DAI). 10/10.

The intro is epic and highly immersive, beautiful, scary, intense and a great introduction to the story.

The graphics and environments are STUNNING and immersive. The devs said they wanted to create an experience that is like the one you have with a group of friends going on a pen and paper adventure when it comes to environment epicness and magical story element, and they have.

The companions are insanely well written and voiced, and most importantly their personal quests are intrisincally linked to the main story in a way that almost no other of those games I listed above managed. And the multitude of characters you can enlist and get to know is perfectly diverse, and it gives you great choice when it comes to how you want your playthrough and party to be.

Going back to Dragon Age Origins and voicing everyone else but not the main character to instead focus on a multitude of choices, hooray and yes! It's wonderful!

Characters aren't gender bound in their sexuality, as a bi pan gamer I thank you from the bottom of my heart that you enabled us to create and write our own romance stories instead of making out genders the most important part of the storytelling of the game.

The music is epic and amazing, tear inducing <3 Just wow, queue on Spotify in repeat mood.

The books are great; they are never too long like they can be in Elder Scrolls games but just the perfect addon to the rest of the content to deepen the lore.

Outfits and dyes; the diversity is through the roof in all the good ways and it's not all armor bikini. Like, you can have raunchy underwear and bikini dress if you want to (late game, for gold) but there is all kinds of armor and outfits for all kinds of characters and needs and it's just so in line with the lore of the world. Thank you!

What I would have liked improved

A way for us to actually hear the companions banter even though we are not exactly over them with the camera. I have missed at least 80% of the banter because you have to zoom out to create a path to walk for them. The party banter needs it's own volume setting and it needs to be heard no matter where your camera is.

Inventory management; more bags with autosort, and much better "Sort by type" sorting (the dyes where all over the place o.O) and and less times the sorting bugs out. Also the possibility to sort according to the unsual themes in the vendor screen. Perhaps even a subcategory of buttons for "armor, weapons, potions, books" and so on.

Better warnings when you are about to cast another concentration skill while already concentrating on something.

There was one NPC I honestly disliked very much that I felt broke the immersion and it is the bloated bartender son in Act 2. It was full on modern Resident Evil vibes and not at all a very Dungeons & Dragons type of character. Nope nope. That whole area was just weird, far too modern in comparison to the rest of the game.

Bugs that screwed with my game

A bug that makes the character portraits go black or weird if you do not have your graphical settings on ultra for everything, please fix that one Larian!

Shadowhearts friend disappeared, rip.

A romance scene was deleted due to too many long rest cutscenes getting stacked on each other, and it put me into a fight with steel watchers instead.

The city houses in Act three constantly loaded their objects way before their walls which messed with countless cutscenes where the only background was the sky and a floating bed. I really hope they can fix this so the walls are loaded first.

My journey through the game

Act 1 is amazingly well polished and filled with exploration, wonder and well balanced magical content.

The game's incredible way of letting you choose whatever way you want to do things is both a blessing and a curse. It makes for wonderful content; you can sneak, persuade, kill everyone, you can be good, evil, chaotic, neutral, wise, stupid, decieving or intimidating, you can miss whole quest lines, areas and characters, or you can stumble into the most obscure little nooks with lore tidbits. It's daunting, and really cool that they give you so little guidance and so many options. The openness and vague nature of the Journal - akin to the original games - are sometimes a fun challenge and sometimes for me too scary to handle.

Just because you can never be sure if your choices lead to what you want or the death of everyone making choices can be a bit too scary for me sometimes and I find myself relying on guides to be able to choose. Not optimal, but that's mostly down to personal preference. In those moments I long for the railroaded stories of Mass Effect, but those moments with more railroaded questlines are also there in BG3 and they are amazing.

Act 2 was honestly really scary, the atmosphere was completely different and they did an amazing job creating a frightening cursed land. The only "weird" thing here for me is how very "steampunk" the game turns, which continues into Act 3 as well, which is a testament to the whole American and D&D view on fantasy settings. It is what it is, I'm just not a fan of that kind of setting mixing.

I also developed a fear of long resting here somewhere because I had quests that failed when going to the camp or resting and there is like no telling what those are so I just started doing as much as I could between rests which made the cutscenes during the rests go haywire and fight with each other.

Act 3 had an amazing beginning, and fun well crafted areas. The performance was terrible and kinda buggy due to the many NPC:s and assets in the area. The villains and their quests and areas were great!

I think I did some personal quests a bit early while I should have waited until I was a higher level, they were pretty punishing. When I reached level 12 with a gazillion summons nothing was really difficult anymore.

In the end I had basically every ally possible (except for Astarion's vampire buddys T_T) but I only used the strange ox and dame Aylin, who survived, and iron hand gnomes and city guards (who were killed by mind flayer arcanists) since I don't want people to die.

THE ENDING...

What the heck Larian, that's not ok. No reasonable closure on my romance, no tale of what happens to everyone, I just got a cutscene with Karlach and some lines from Gale. I really hope they are working on expanding on this as we speak and there are some indications that they are.

It wasn't full on "Mass Effect 3 at launch" but not too far from it. I am disappoint... And on that note:

My romance experience

It started amazing with both Astarion and Shadowheart, beautiful stories both. Up until the ending of Act 1 it was amazing and peachy pie. During Act 2 not much happens at all, except for Astarion breaking up with me over a drow and her blood. The horror... I had to break up with Shadowheart to be with Astarion, and at least we could kiss.

But that was about it, the only thing after that until the end of the game was the main personal quest of that character - where I missed a whole part because I couldn't find his siblings - and I did that waaay too soon, and I chose the soft ending which just made him sad and brooding and then there was nothing except for him slut shaming me when I slept with the incubus and scenes bugging out, as well as no real ending.

It started so well, and it ended with emptiness and sadness. Apparently he also has new voice lines during the final fight that I missed T_T

Rip.

In conclusion

Amazing game, 9/10 until they patch the ending and pace the cut scenes during long rests better and make the lower city less laggy. I am perfectly confident in that within a year all this will have happened and there will be no games able to rival this one in the scope of epicness and emotion <3

It used to be in Late night Talk Shows on the TV in the states you had unusual musical guests... with Letterman it was Tuvan Throat Singing, and even the premier of Girls’ Generation (K-pop) on network TV.

 Stephen Colbert on the same network has a Japanese Heavy Metal act known as Babymetal.

This wasn’t new at the time whatever was weird or interesting was given a chance at the limelight especially on The Late Show. My main question is this... Whose next?

Hello risotto 🖤🖤 (sorry I had to lol) I hope you’re doing well, I was a bit tired so I hope what I writed make sense :')

1. How do you read tarot? What is the first step you take, the second, etc. Take us through the process!

- Before a reading I always put a ring on that is dedicated to protection (I got so used to have it now I feel weird when I do readings without it lol), I like to have a clean surface for my cards so I got a cloth that I also use as a veil sometimes but it’s not always that fancy sometimes I just put a shirt or a blanket. There are time where I light a candle but it’s starting to be rare

- If the reading require the presence of a specific entity (mostly the deities I work with) i’ll dress up more fancy and light their candle or take the jewel that I dedicated to them

- then I knock on my deck 3 times (the ring is a cobra so I do one knock with its head) it’s both for cleansing and to ”wake it up”, i learned that from the lady who offered me my first tarot

- before shuffling I think about my question while holding it (for exemple if I do a pac i’ll look at the picture I chose for the pile) then I start shuffling with the number of card I want in mind

- for the shuffling I only accept cards when they fall alone but there are times where 2 cards fall togheter  in this case the second card will be a clarification for the one it fell with.

- when I read for an individual i’ll check the card at the bottom of the deck but this last part rely a lot on intuition and on the situation because sometimes i’ll also check the one on top of the deck. It can be here to give the general theme, it can also be the past or sometimes the card end up joining the reading.

- also during the whole reading, before and after I observe a lot my surrounding because I can get a sign.

- I don’t listen to music while shuffling and sometimes I can’t when writing to because sometimes spirit require silence or I got a lot of message so I need more calm

- when the reading is done I just put the cards back in the deck but sometimes if I got ”negative” cards i do an extra step, for exemple if I got the sun reversed i’ll put it upright in the deck it’s my way of wishing good luck for the futur !

2. What are the qualities of a good tarot reader in your opinion?

• honesty is so important, it’s tempting to keep your messages positive but it’s not helpful

• knowing how to give bad news it goes back to what I said first but your reading might save someone from a shitty event or reassure them

• knowing how to detach yourself from your reading and also who don’t rely too much on divination in  general

• I also think you should have experience before giving free reading everywhere im not saying you should practice 5 years before doing that but take some month to learn, knowing your tools is so so much important

• Boundaries are very important especially since people seem to act like tumblr is the mcdonald of free divination services💀

• Knowing how to be inclusive wether it’s about pronounce you use in your readings or subject that come out (reference to trauma or bad news)

• Someone who can admit when they are wrong about their reading, we aren’t perfect missing some messages happen

• Not being ”stuck” on your belief system

• Lastly, not being afraid of exploring new subject or trying to bring new stuff maybe use an other divination tool with your tarot or try to find some unsual subject/theme for your readings

I feel like it’s more welcoming here than other platforms ?  Maybe it’s because it’s more easy to be seen here than on tiktok or intagram

Dislikes ;

I feel like a lot of people hide behind ”only take what resonate”, ”I don’t sugarcoat” to throw some mean messages and be like ”no you can’t give negative feedback it was a general reading” sometimes I see pac or post that look like someone who had a bad week and to cope they decided everyone should have a negative message. I mean it just look like ”I don’t sugarcoat so *proceed to insult you and your futur*” or make people feel guilty without any advice to help behind it’s just ”u suck by but it’s a general reading don’t forget c:”. There are less reading like that now but I remember seing a lot of them last year

The futur spouse theme got abused destroyed and remixed, at first it was just the person you’ll end up with and you can try to get some detail about some stuff, sound fun and cute. Then it became the term for what would be just a general love reading or about a next partner or something else that is called ”love reading” but who’s more like a terrible wattpad fanfic. How many time while scrolling I would see people just say ”ye your fs will cheat on you but take what resonate :)))” or ”hm yeaaah that relationship won’t be so significant for you and won’t last” then it’s not my fs ? Honestly love readings end up being so weird im very hesitant about doing one but fortunatly there are so many love reading and a lot of amazing ones

It goes to the issue not knowing your tool but y’know cards got different meaning depending on the subject of the reading *look at the Devil and the 6 of cups*

That thing about making reading for celebrities is so weird like ? You don’t even do it for them you do it for people who want to invade their personal space that’s a new kind of stalker wtf

Haven’t written my review for the new episode yet! It was another skit compilation, this time with a special focus on AUs (hence Cosplaymatsu, I believe!). There were a lot of skits, some I like more, some I like less, but overall... I’d say it was a pretty solid episode! Lots of skits means I have a lot to say so... sorry in advance for the lengthy post, heh.

In the Nothing-I-Can-Do-Police skit, Jyushimatsu and Choromatsu, in the roles of neighborhood passerbys, try to dissuade a certain desperate side character from jumping off a building. A passing policeman, played by Ichimatsu, is ill-suited to de escalate the situation though, given that he’s even more disenchanted with life than the to-be-jumper is.

Despite the heavy subject, was pretty funny to me. I wasn’t expecting to see the infamous Atsushi OR one of the Sutabaa barista girls in incidental roles like that, so that was a funny surprise. I thought Choromatsu and Jyushimatsu’s old men designs were very appealing as well. The ending was a bit predictable given the fact it’s Osomatsu-san and the thing the brothers resent the most is other people’s luck in love but I felt like it tied the whole thing together pretty well.

In The Hell?! Maid, Karamatsu is surprised when Chibita’s oden stand seems to be have rebranded itself as a Maid Oden Stand. Chibita, however, seems to be taking the maid role very seriously.

I know a lot of people dislike “boy character dresses up as a girl” jokes, very understandably so (and me included), but I personally thought Chibita dressing up as a café maid and performing the café maid role so well had a much more endearing tone than a mocking one. The humor of the skit wasn’t due to Chibita dressing up as a maid, but more due to how ill-suited oden is as a food item for a café setting and how clashing Chibita’s rude mannerisms are next to a maid’s cutesy ones, something I appreciated a lot.

Maid cafés are basically a staple of anime these days, so I also appreciated seeing Ososan’s take on it! To top it all off, we hadn’t seen Karamatsu and Chibita interact one on one like that ever since... season one? Karamatsu makes for a very good straight man next to Chibita’s particular brand of weirdness and it’s always a delight seeing those two together. Well, it’s always a delight seeing a Chibita skit, period. I just love the little guy. Definitely my favorite out of all the skits!

In No-Chance Trial, Osomatsu is brought to court to be judged for... farting crimes. Prosecutor Choromatsu and Defense Attorney Karamatsu eventually reach the agreement it’s not THAT bad of a crime. Judge Todomatsu, however, feels like the only appropriate punishment is the death penalty.

Another solid skit! I really liked the Ace Attorney references (even the BG music resembled the music of the games!) and Todomatsu’s insistence on getting Osomatsu killed for his insistent farting in his general presence got some good laughs out of me. There wasn’t a big side character presence in this episode with the exception of Chibita’s, but I liked Totoko, Nyaa-chan and Dobusu as members of the jury, and the Riceball robots as stenographers. The ending was, as Ososan is famous for, hilariously gross.

In Reborn As a Mosquito, Choromatsu is, as implied by the title, turned into a mosquito isekai-style when he laments not being able to find a girlfriend. As a mosquito, he’s free to bite pretty ladies whenever he wants to! That is... if he can bring himself to do such a uncouth thing.

This one didn’t amuse me THAT much, but it was a fairly decent skit. I liked seeing Choromatsu having second thoughts about doing something pervy for like, once in his life, heh, even if the devil on his shoulder tried to convince him otherwise. The double joke of him hating the taste of blood AND being killed right after that got a “ha!” out of me. Not my favorite and fairly uneventful but not a bad skit.

In Mister, Osomatsu is a local unemployed bum who entertain the neighborhood kids, played by his brothers, by making picture card shows in exchange for pachinko balls. The story he tells them eventually hits a little too close to home, though.

Not my favorite either, but I liked everyone’s designs a lot, and it was fun seeing the original tortoise and the hare fable getting more and more complicated as Osomatsu ends up making it about his life instead. Now, this is a VERY “me” complaint, and I’ll understand it if people don’t agree with me but! I felt like that was a role that would be better suited for Iyami. I mean, think about it! He’s already an unemployed bum living in a shabby house who’s bothered by local children in pretty much all his incarnations. It’d be perfect for him! But maybe I’m just a little miffed he didn’t show up.

Also, I feel like this might be a reference to something? I’ve definitely seen a very similar “local poor man puts on picture card shows for children” story in manga before. I’m going to look more into it to see if it’s a “thing” I’m not aware of.

In I-Do-What-I-Want Bartender, Todoko and Ichiko try to get a drink at a bar, just to find out the bartender, Karamatsu, fancies himself as an artist and refuses to serve them what they ask for, instead making fancy, elaborate drinks.

I liked seeing the Girlymatsu again! You know... even if it was just 33.33% of them, heh. This one wasn’t all that eventful either, but the joke felt pretty solid and I thought Karamatsu having so much trouble not acting on his “vision” and serving the girls what they asked for was pretty funny. Him loudly complaining thinking they couldn’t hear him was great as well.

In A Restaurant Filled With Mysteries, we see the return of Businessman Osomatsu, this time accompanied by Choromatsu as they try to get lunch in a foreign restaurant they can’t quite place where it’s from. Turns out that the restaurateur, a very unsual man from the unheard-of country of “Jyushimatsu”, isn’t going to make it easy for them.

I’ll be real: I felt like this could have... very easily taken a less-than-savory turn when it comes to mocking other cultures as “weird”, especially with the Indian-inspired imagery. In my opinion, they didn’t QUITE cross into shitty territory but they stayed... uncomfortably close to it. Reminded me a bit of the whole deal with the Oompa Loompas in the 2005 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie. The country was fictional, Jyushimatsu’s ethnicity was fictional (good call making him blue skinned) but... you know. They could have done it a little bit more tastefully. I did like the holes joke, though. It was a nice subversion of the whole “gross foreign food” trope that’s still so popular in cartoons and such.

Well, that’s it! Overall, more good points than bad points, in my opinion. Next episode seems VERY promising when it comes to Iyami but I’ll get into it into another post. This one’s too long already.

Is there a snack you like to eat while writing?

Not really. I'm happy to stuff my face with whatever is on hand if I'm hungry and to not eat anything if I'm not.

What time of day do you usually write?

In the mornings before work and in the evenings after evening stuff. That's just for putting words in a document, though. I walk a lot, so I will spend a lot of that time thinking about what I'm going to write.

Where do you write?

Sofa with my laptop is my most comon. My bed before I fall asleep is not unsual for me.

How often do you write a new fic?

This varies greatly. I'll go through periods of intense productivity, which for me is 1-2 fics a month, and I'll also go through periods of not writing anything for half a year.

Do you listen to music while you write?

This is kind of like the snack question. Usually yes? Sometimes I will try to match moods, but sometimes I don't. My music brain will every once in a while get fixated on a particular song or particular artist, regardless of whether or not the mood feels right.

Paper or laptop?

Laptop typically, but if my wrists are acting up, I will write out scenes on paper. I used to write a lot more on paper, but then I got frustrated with the transcription step. It's just easier when everything is already typed up.

Do you have a special pre-writing ritual?

Nope. I will open my laptop and charge ahead into my document.

What do you do to get into the writing mood?

Talk to people about it. Ramble ideas at them on twitter or in chat or in e-mail. Responses are not important. Keeping my investment in the story high is the tough part, and talking at someone about it helps.

What do you always have near the place you write?

A glass of water. Dehydration is a real thing.

Do you have a reward system for word counts?

I get to brag about it to people. That's about it? Not to get too cheesy or anything, but having more words written always feels ~like its own reward~.

Is there anything else about your writing process your readers don’t know?

I know this is unusual compared to most of the other writers I know, but I don't spend a lot of time looking back at things I've already written until I've already gotten a first draft completed. I'll just keep dumping words onto the page until I get to the end. I just find that it's easier for me to separate out the writing step, where I get a whole bunch of words written, and the editing step, where I make all those words make sense and try to keep them from being terrible.

I’m terrified of strangers but treat them unfailingly politely. It’s kinda the way your supposed to treat the fey; don’t trust them, but be very nice to them.

I’ve never gotten or recieved a black eye because confrontation scares me and i avoid it At All Costs. 

Bleeding-heart: Do you open up freely with their emotions, or do you bottle it up until you burst? If you do hold it in, what is usually your breaking point?

I’m a big bottle of repressed emotional issues and worry 100%. My bursting point is usually after i’ve been too stressed for a couple of days and get over-tired, bc then i just start crying over something stupid, spill my guts to someone via text, and regret it absolutely the next day.

Butterfly-Weed: What is one thing that always makes you stop and admire, no matter what you were doing prior?

As someone who is both constatly distracted and looking for art ideas that a lot of things! Usually its either the outfits of people in town, or the sunset when im on the bus home of the evening. 

Common Yarrow: Do you easily blend in with the crowd, or do you wear/act so that you are noticeable and stand out?

Thats kinda tricky because i love wearing quirky opshopped clothed and ridiculous shirts, but i also kinda wear them in the hope that people wont bother me too much? I want to look cool, but not Too Cool.

Cornflower: Is there a color you don’t particularly care to wear? Is it because it clashes with your style, appearance, or any other reason outside of simple dislike for said color?

I don’t think theres a colour that i wouldnt wear? I dont wear a lot of green but thats more because i tend to gravitate to either warmer colours or crazy prints.

Creeping Zinnia: Do you listen into other people’s conversations, either idly or purposely? Has there been anything you learned from it? Have you gotten into trouble?

I absolutely do not. I feel so so terrible when i listen in and im so scared that they’ll say something very personal i should never hear. I wear headphones a lot of the time though so its not a huge problem.

Daylily: Do you have any daily routines/habits? Are they ingrained into you as a child or have they been recent additions?

I’m too scatterbrained to have too many daily habits, but the one that has carried over from my childhood is packing my bag the day before. For someone who worries a lot knowing im all ready for uni the next day, and having a vague idea of what i want to wear, is very helpful in helping me calm down before bed. 

Field Pansy: Have you ever gone and flown a kite before? Do you wish to do so if you haven’t?

Yes! There’s a big spare block up on a hill not far from my house, so when i was about 11 maybe(?) me and my neighborhood friends would make kites out of balloon sticks and rubbish bags, then ride our bikes up to the spare block.

Flowering Cabbage: Name one thing you keep, despite it being pointless or purposeless other than sentimental value or you simply cannot throw it away, and state the reason why you hang onto it.

Ummmm? Everything? I’m hopelessly sentimental. I’ve got clothes, books, letters, and dried flowers collected up simply because they remind me of happy times or people i care about.

Garden Impatiens: What causes you to lose patience? How do you react when you lose it?

Generally i have endless patience for others, but for myself? I’m constantly frustrated by my inability to concentrate for a long time, and when i’m trying to draw and it just Wont Work, usually that just leads to me just stewing in my annoyance for a few hours. 

Gooseneck Loosestrife: Is there anything strange or unusual you can do, or have noticed happening around you without an identifiable cause?

There’s nothing unsual that i can can do, although sometimes i wish that were true. Although i must say that art school has a ton of weird things i wish i could explain; like when you hear voices in a computer lab but you go in and its empty. Or the people who i swear i’ve never met before who stand outside the classrooms until you use your swipcard to let them in. 

Hosta: Do you enjoy the time out in the sun, or do you relax in the shade whenever you get the chance to do so?

I love the sun in every season except for summer, my pale pale skin cannot handle it at all so i stick to the shadows like a vampire. 

Ivy Geranium: Do you have any pets? If so, how are they doing?

I have a dog called Scruffy, who is cute but constantly a mess, and seven chickens all named after Doctor Who characters!

Japanese Bloodgrass: When was the last time you drew blood, either from yourself or from another? What was the reason?

I might have sliced my ankle shaving the other week because i was bopping along to the music i had playing and slipped...

Lady’s Mantle: What is one outfit you remember your mother/guardian wearing when you were a child?

My mum used to wear these striped tshirt dresses around the house all through summer, i actually got a few of these handed down to me!

Lambs Ears: Do you remember how old you were when the last time someone tried to censor their speech around you?

About 20mins ago... My mum was about to swear and just gave me a look before rephrasing hahah

Lavender: Is there a particular scent you are fond of? Do you smell this scent often or rarely?

I love lavender and rosemary in summer because it reminds me of the veggie patch that i planted near my back door a few years ago, but in winte hot chocolate and cinnamon are the best for feeling cozy.

Million Gold: How much money do you make, if any? How much money do you have currently?

I’m currently unemployed while i move out of home and settle in, but at the moment i’m housesitting so i think i get about $200 for the month, and then i dogsit again for someone else next month. Other than that my only income is from commissions..

Moss Phlox: Have there been any new friends you have made? What do you want to know about them the most?

Last saturday was my friend Katie’s birthday picnic and i met some lovely people there who i really hope i can stay in contact with.

Nasturium: Have you ever been the one to be told a secret? Did you keep it or did you share it with someone else? Was the secret worth being kept?

It’s not often people tell me secrets, but if they do tell me one i always keep it. I know how gross it feels to have someone betray your trust and i wouldnt do that deliberately to anyone. 

Ornamental Purslane: Do you wear any jewelry? Which ones are your favorites? Do you favor certain metals/gems/styles?

I don’t usually wear a lot of jewlery because i forget to change my earrings, and bracelets get in the way when im drawings, i used to wear a necklace all the time though. It was a teardrop shaped blue-goldstone on a silver chain, but my sister pulled it off when she was mad and it snapped. 

Rose Campion: If you had to fight, which one person would you chose to fight at your side? Would you pick them based on skill, on trust, or both?

I don’t know anyone personally who’d be any good in a fight so im going to have to say uhhhhhhh... either The Rock lmao bc he’d just punch danger in the face, or Ship ( @glumshoe ) because i just think he’d be prepared for even the weirdest stuff we could encounter.

Salvia-May-Night: What your habits/rituals you do when preparing for bed? How long do you usually sleep for?

The classic shower, facewash, text people who make me happy, and reluctantly set an alarm so i’ll get to class on time. I usually sleep fine all night no matter how early/late i go to bed, but i always wake up at 8am and have to check my phone to see if im late for anything.

Snapdragon: What sort of things would you hoard, if given the chance? Would you?

So so many things, its a good thing i dont have the chance. Books? Art supplies? Cool dresses? Pot plants?

Autumn all the way. I love the coloured leaves and windy days, and its the perfect inbetween weather thats not too hot or cold.

Say Goodbye to the one you love.

There was this boy I met in high school, he was an older boy, a senior but not just any senior; a fucking gorgeous smart caring heart destroyer of an asshole. Anyways, so of course you know that advice your friends, parents or your siblings give you when you first enter in to high school, yeah, you know exactly what I'm talking about! That one piece of advice "Never fall for the older boys ESPECIALLY THE SENIORS THEY'RE NOTHING BUT OUTLAWS". YEAH!! well fuck me right? I did & I didn't just fall, I fucking ate shit & broke my face. ha! Well let me begin to tell my story about the love of my life. I was that daughter who was raised with out a father & no, I'm not that typical girl "who had daddy issues". I actually had a great father but I'll get to that part of that story soon enough. However, my mother wasn't so great she was a bipolar ballistic women. I lived in trouble times in my younger age, some things will never over come if you just don't seek it. Right? Well whatever. I had 1 older sister & 2 older brothers, I never had a relationship with any of them. I just didnt have a relationship with anybody in my house hold especially my mother. I got use to being by myself, I actually sorta liked it I was at the edge of the world & it was the good life for me, but my mom was working all the time or just out doing who knows what & my sister was mainly taking care of us, but basically she was a kid herself so she just really had us clean the house & made sure we ate, then she'll go on with her own life with her boyfriend she ended up being with for 6 years. Anyways as time flew by my brothers & sister & even my mother were getting themselves into trouble. So my mom was occupied by them or if I did have her attention she was so angry all the time yelling at me and criticising me & we were ALWAYS MOVING "new start" every 6 months! It was hard but you tend to get use to it. Some of you all would say that it sucks & others would say that it's probably not that bad, but it really had its prons & cons. You tend to make friends fast with out getting attached, but, it was hard to learn in class & get comfortable. Because getting comfortable was hard to do especially if I knew I wasnt gonna stay long before we packed up & moved again. However through out this journey I had two things & that is God & soccer. The two things that probably kept me in good shape mentally physically & emotionally. I reached this part in my life where we stood sturdy in one house for 5 years, but MEN LET ME TELL YOU THOSE YEARS WERE THE DEPRESSING YET AMAZING MEMORIES OF MY LIFE. In my middle school years I started getting super athletic with an attitude of fuck you & Fuck the world with a blunt between my lips & a lighter in my hand. So I went from loner to stoner in my household with great talent. At this point my sister moved out to colorado with her boyfriend growing weed & my mom was still doing her own things & my brothers were probably in the same shoes as me. This is where we probably got close, because this time they were taking care of me & being ridiculously over protective, but they taught me how to not be like the girls they would bring home that they would call "easy". They also taught me to be tough & never let anyone push me around. So I did, & I did it more when they both started getting themselves into drugs & drugs & the more they did that, my mom was never around at least not around me, she was invovled in her own life & when she had to be a mom she was trying to take care of my sister or my brothers from their own stupidity & drugs. Yeah, I smoked every fucking day because it was a relief from the disfunctional family, but I had soccer & God that kept me stabled, until I met him that made me feel different & feel free. Alright, so here we are, beginning HIGH SCHOOL! YAAAAYY! I had joined an elective called Jrotc if you guys haven't heard of it it's a semi military class. Anyways this club was sorta serious because you had to really take it serious. So the rotc ended up having practice durning Christmas break, any reason to leave the house, by all means! I was there, when I got to practice at my school we were all put in different platoons. All the platoon leaders were dicks but then again they were all seniors. My platoon leader was name Jerry. That senior I was unaware to watch out for. Yeah! This is where many things became amazing. Durning practice Jerry came up to me fixing what needed to be fixed like he did with everyone in his platoon, as he got to me he sorta flirted with me just as he flirted with some other girls but i denied his affection. After practice finished I was waiting for someone to pick me up or if not just start walking proably home or probably not. I felt someone approach me & said "hello". I turned my head & saw that it was Jerry I responded with joy & a little confusion "helllooo". We ended up having a very funny unsual conversation that ended up with a smoke sesh together one day, so we exchanged our numbers to one another. He ask if i wanted to hang out at his house, I thought about it because he seemed really chill & cool but I didn't want to come off as easy in anyway. So I denied & left home. Couple minutes when I got home I got a message from a # "Hey this is Jerry:b". With a smile I responed "well hello there jerry". After the message was sent, more & more & more & more were sent through out the day having a pointless conversation getting to know each other & enjoying the talk. So that one conversation turned into multiple & long conversations every single day that week. Then those conversations turning into a friendship. So remember I said earlier that we agreed on having a 'smoke sesh'. Well when christmas break came to a end. I saw him at school & planned to meet up with him afterwards to accomplish that smoke sesh. We walked to house, laughing & roasting each other & him flirting & flirting & me being all defensive because the more I was the more he would flirt. lol, we got to his house went to his room & I sat on his bed while he was getting everything ready for us to smoke. I was analyzing his room, it was such a boyish room & dark & fucking hot. Augh! then at one point i find him staring at me, but I can't help but start smiling & giggle. As he gets closer to me i get nervous, my heart is beating my smile starts slowing disappearing not knowing what he's going for & he leans in to my face with his face & kisses me, I kissed him back of course because I didnt want to come off rude but I wanted him to do it. So we started making out but I pulled away as fast as can & said "well lets start our sesh or what?" ...& typical Jerry came off saying "damn was I that bad you had to cut it off like that" I laughed & said "omg, no duude I just don't want you to get the wrong Idea of me or don't want you to think I'm easy or some shit". Jerry looked at me for awhile with a weird look & says "sorry! It's not my fault Elizabeth? you pulled me in with your smile". I stared at him blushing on the inside but on the outside i rolled my eyes, laughed & said "c'mon lets go". After that he took be back to school so I could get picked up. Like usual he texted me, this time this conversation didnt go like our usual conversations, at first it did, all cute & shit, talking about our kiss and then! he had texted me with "My girlfriend will trip if she finds out". YOOOOO!!!! I WAS LIKE WTF???? The fucked up thing was that he didn't lie when I asked him if he had a girlfriend because you know why? I NEVER FUCKING ASKED HIM. ACTUALLY NOTHING LIKE THAT EVER CAME UP. So while I read it I was fucking pissed but not because "omg you have a girlfirend & I'm jealous, what the fuck bullshit" but because I was that "girl" a boy cheated with when he had a girlfriend. So I put "GIRLFRIEND!? YOU HAVE A BOO? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL HIM". You know I was basically tripping. He swore he told me but I cut him off. The next day he came up to me apologozing & all. We became cool but only friends nothing more & told him I felt disrespected. He understood & said " I would rather be friends instead of not being friends at all." So the next 3 month's we created a very strong friendship bond, I was with him every single day smoking & chilling, we never talked about our problems or issues we had with in ourselves or in our lives. When we were with each other we would become stronger & forget the bullshit we would always laugh or talk about unrealistic life or music. Or we wont speak at all or I would watch him play his video games all day while I laid down. Also Jerry had his bestfriend name luis casio & casio had a brother name John every one called him JJ but JJ was my age at the time. I meet them through jerry, we all always hung out at night doing some dumbass shit. They would come to my house when I wasn't allowed to go out or Casio would come & beg for my mom to let me out so we can hang out. Damn! you know what? I'm making them sound like they're angles or something? but they had their fair share of assholeness. They would make fun of my laugh, through me in the trash can or leave me at walmart but I guess thats the price of having older friends. Hey! But they did take the place of my brothers when they got into some serious trouble & left me to leave to colorado with my sister & my mom was going through some weird ass phase with dating a 24 year old. So she was stuck in her room 25/7 so i never really saw her. Anyways as I was going through that bullshit atm, Jerry was having his own issues not only with his Dad, but his girlfriend, that I came to really understand that she wasn't a very good girlfriend at ALL. She was more then Bitch, she also a hoe, she was always cheating on jerry & acting like a bitch & according to him she became more horrible since we became good friends. Ivy the girlfriend hated me deeply. ESPECIALLY this one time when I bit jerry on the collar bone & left him a huge ass mark. Yeah, I did mess up I'll admit to that. But I just didnt understand that how can some one like Jerry be with someone like Ivy. I was angry & annoyed! Especially when he would walk to his house & he was frustrated or sad but I was glad that I could make him feel better, but with him it was always better & great & fun & just augh plain wonderful. Oh nooooo as i think to myself & I start to fight with myself...Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Wait! Fematt? Are you liking Jerry? You can't he has a girlfriend? But I cant help it. & she's a total bitch! She doesn't even deserve jerry! Fuck her! Right? I've been there for him since I met the guy. Augh Idk whatever. So the next day I went to his house & we were there enjoy each others company. Do y'all know somebody whos presense are just fucking intoxicating in a good healthy way & their energy just brings freedom & love to your soul? Well that was Jerry to me. So I stared at him while he was sitting on the bed & he caught me but I couldn't stop looking at him. He started smiling & said "why you looking at me?" Once he told me that I went to kiss him & we started making out in such intensity & passion that finally has been waiting to be sparked. After that we were more then friends. We were two human begins with fucked up problems that had so much love for each other & will do anything for each other. Well Jerry didn't break up with Ivy atleast not yet, but as for me I didn't trip & I can't give you answer too why not. Maybe because I knew that I had jerry's heart as much as he had mine & I had it for more then 8 months, because we spent every single day, hour, minute, together. Jerry finally had broken up with Ivy don't get me wrong I was happy, but I was more concern of Jerry happiness then mine. He was relieved of her persence. Jerry & I became a 'us' finally. Casio & JJ never liked Ivy, which sorta made me kinda relieved because they loved me & everything happen when summer was legit around the corner. So shit became offical the way I wanted it to be. But once I had Jerry offically to me. Shit at home started turning south. Out of no where my mom started acting like a mom.????? & started being very mean & ugly. So it was harder to be with Jerry but the more my mom would try to pull me away I would push. So one day durning the summer I took off to Jerry House. You know whats the weird thing about being with jerry too is that i didnt have to talk about my probelms we just chilled in slience or hear him talk was so okay. That day we showered together expecting him to take my virginity but he didnt he chose not too. Jerry never touched me unless he felt that is was okay with me. I think thats also why I felt so safe with him, was because he handled me with so much respect. I got home super late with my mom hitting me & yelling at me. I didn't care not only was because of my happy spirit but because I was so use to the hitting & the yelling from her but at the same time I was tired of it & growing so much anger. So this is where shit hits the fan. The last time I took off with jerry I lied to mom of course about being at soccer practice & she found out because I accidentally butt dial her. Fml but coming home that summer night was Hell she started hitting me & going ballistic. I SNAPPED. I FLIPPED & TWO FROM THEN I LEFT THE HOUSE WITH OUT ANYTHING..... To be continued

Journey to Frankfurt

For years I didn’t like Coldplay at all. I would change the radio station as soon as they would come on. But recently I had a change of heart. The new music from their album “Kaleidoscope” I really love and last year when they performed at Letzigrund Zürich I went to have a look outside the stadium which actually impressed me. Then I found out that Chris Martin, lead singer, is actually funny. So two weeks ago on a silly little whim I asked one of my concert buddies if she fancied going to Frankfurt to see them there. Luckily she was crazy enough to say yes. After a four hour train ride we arrived at a beautiful Hotel Le Méridien close to the main station. This left us only a few hours until show time.

Supporting Acts

Coldplay had two supports for their gig at the Commerzbank Arena formerly know as Waldstadion which usually hosts Bundesliga football club Eintracht Frankfurt. First up was Femme Schmidt who’s a German singer known for her first single “Golden”. She performed okay but couldn’t get the crowd going.

Tove Lo was up next and had a great 45min set. She sang her two hits “Stay High” and “Talking Body”. She did a brilliant job and got me dancing and singing. I will definitely check out her record since I liked the other songs too. During the following break someone started a mexican wave which just wouldn’t stop.

Intro

Finally after a 15min delay opera sound started to fill the stadium – a very unsual intro. A video which showed where they’ve been with this tour and two fans from Sweden, their latest stop on the tour, sent their love to Frankfurt, Germany and again two fans appeared bearing a German flag wishing us a great show.

THE SHOW

The crowd was incredible and thanks to Coldplay’s brilliant idea of giving each fan a Xyloband around their wrists – a light which they can control – you could see each and everyone. I was mesmerized by it. They also lit a few fireworks and blew confetti in the air during the first song… some artists finish like this.

Chris Martin told us that it’s going to be the last German show for a while so we should better be enjoying ourselves. I think we all did. We gave them everything we had and they did as well. It was a 2+ hour show full of energy. Which I also liked a lot was what he said next:

I appreciate you coming here. I understand the hassle of travelling, queuing and paying outrageous prices for a drink but you still show up. Thank you for that!

After a few old songs like “Paradise” and “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall” and “The Scientist” Coldplay changed to the B-stage in the middle of the stadium. A small minus is that a lot of people couldn’t see them there because the pillars for the lights were in the way. Luckily we were able to change our position to see them better.

“Magic”, a favourite of mine, “Princess of China” and “Everglow” were performed there. When they changed back to the main stage I really needed a break! smilie My resting didn’t last long though. After an hour and 10 mins they played the song I liked most “Hymn for the Weekend”. The creative team did this brilliant song justice and we saw flames rise to the top and while Chris was running down the runway coloured confetti was blown up which looked like a lovely rainbow. To calm down “Fix You” was next.

They started “Viva la Vida” but stopped it after a few seconds. Chris then asked us to put our phones away for one song and just enjoy the atmosphere, the song and the moment. It was the first time I heard that famous bell clearly. It was a revelation and the song was over way too quick. They followed it with the song which made me fall in love with Coldplay “Adventures of a Lifetime”. The colourful interactive show got even more playfull when they released big ballons which got thrown up by the standing crowd. It looked incredibly fun and makes me want to be standing at the next Coldplay concert.

Adventures of a Lifetime

Even the people at the back got to see them closely when the band changed onto the C-stage for a few slow songs and for us to take a break and breathe and just enjoy the brilliant musicians without any distractions. I really liked when Chris Martin introduced the other members of the band and made some jokes about them.

Coldplay finished the phenomenal show back on the A-stage with their latest song “Something just like this”, “A Sky Full of Stars” and another slow song “Up&Up”. Martin sent us home with the words:

Thank you for coming, safe journey home and God bless you all

On our way home I still could see all the lights when I closed my eyes. If you haven’t seen them live, go do it! An over two hour gig with beautiful songs, amazing appreciative musicians and a wonderful show is not easy to find these days.
