SPOILERS Sumeru Archon Quest and Tighnari's Quest

Warnings: Spoilers, Cursing and LONG LONG Rant

First off, I really love Sumeru. The music is amazing and the colors are so nice to look at. Still so many tall climb but that's nothing new. Also, there's lots of mushrooms.

Collei is precious. She's such a sweet girl and I have yet to read the manga but Dottore is such a hoe. How dare he touch a precious bean. Her reaction to Paimon just jokingly attack her is so sad and her being sickly as well. Honestlyyyy, too many good characters and she's the first of many in Sumeru.

I'll save Tighnari for later. For now, I'm going to talk about Dori. She is shorter/younger than what I expected lol. I thought she was going to have the female "teen" size. Also having seen a lot of the other characters, I'm more torn on who I want. I still like Dori but my eyes are shifting to different characters.

Al Haitham, what the fuck you up to? Breaking agreements that's enough to earn the wrath of the rock, if Zhongli were the traveler. This man's I want now more that I saw how he look in the game. He's giving me the feelings I had when I pulled on Ayato's banner. Ngl tho, being the only character that's entirely affiliated with the Akademiya is also giving him the untrustworthy guy vibes like Tartaglia.

Dehya and Nilou, both of them I can't shake of the thoughts that they could like Dunyarzad more than a friend. Dehya's design I stared for a while before concluding that those "ears" are just her hair shaped like it much like Keqing's. Ngl, I wasn't able to pay attention much to Nilou other than the scenes of her with Dunyarzad so idk what else to think about her yet.

For Nahida/Kusanali, Sumeru doesn't deserve her or at least the sages and certain people don't. She's such a sweet and good archon. She's been around for 500 or so years and she's just been in house arrest the entire time? She's literally the nature god but isnt even allowed to be in nature.

In regards to that, I can see the Sumeru's issue is because they've yet to accept that Greater Lord Rukkhadevata is long dead and hinders letting Lesser Lord Kusanali be the "proper" archon of Sumeru. Ykno? It's something sort of similar to Liyue's issue. Sort of.

Now the Sabzerus festival, holy shit. It's inception. Well, it's really not but it was what I was saying the entire time during it lol. But the dream thing, caught me off guard cuz I never would have thought that figments of imagination when you sleep can be connected to wisdom. It's kind of smart. I like it lots.

I loved Paimon a lot more during the bit where Traveler had to leave Paimon within the wall. I dont get people who don't like Paimon. They're the best emergency food travel companion in all of Teyvat. I love it when Paimon and Traveler banter. Like in the new Voice-overs. Speaking of, Traveler having a bit more lines in during that quest made me so happy.

The jebait on Dunyarzad holy crap. Tho ngl I would be ok with her just also having died during that for the angst but the current outcome is great as well.

Again with the cutscenes. It so beautiful. What I loved the most is seeing Dunyarzad when we thought she was dead get to see the dance. The dance itself was beautiful but that scene of like being able to fulfill her dying wish was just so nice to like see and gave me like a peace of mind. Nilou dancing was indeed gracful and the effects were also a nice addition but story wise I just loved seeing the Dunyarzad bit more.

Then we have the Katheryne being a puppet reveal which was sort of expected but I never have realized or remember that she was made in Snezhnaya. That small bit surprised me. Like maybe... a spy?? Its just a thought.

Now, I can get to Tighnari and he's quest. He's somewhat a merge of Heizou and Albedo. Obviously he's his own person but for comparison ykno. I like Tighnari. He's like "I don't care if you eat that mushroom. Go ahead try it. I do have a medicine for it but I want you to learn the consequences of your actions first." He's unexpectedly more stern and collected than expected but it makes it more satisfying when he becomes soft with Collei or frustrated with the Akademiya.

In the quest, I liked him even more. I love that he's aware of how Traveler wanders off out of the mission a lot. Him calling out to me when I was about to go wander off instead of setting up camp is gold to me and also him going "You're still awake" or "You’re still here" when I try to chat with him is so good. It's not some dialogue of him describing what he plans to do but just him lowkey shooing me. Also never thought I would want a mechanical crab as a pet but here we are. The thing with Karkata is so simple and yet it was so well done anyway. I would have loved to hear more of Tighnari's time at the Akademiya though. Actually most of the characters, I would love to have to see their Act 2 in the Story Quests. Anyway, I'll be waiting for Tighnari in the standard banner so I can save the intertwined fates for the limited characters like Nahida, Al Haitham, Dori and Cyno.

Hi hi hi! How's the weather been? Have you made any more developments to your WIPs/characters, even if you've just thought about them? ☺️

hello!!!! this is very late lol (also happy late birthday). it rained/sprinkled today which was a little surprising. in general, it's been getting colder because it's fall now. I really like fall as a season, though I keep wearing my shorter pants and getting surprised when i get a little chilly.

i've thought about my wips a lot! i've also thought about a lot of different ways to organize them, mainly because i realized I can't really go off pure adrenaline anymore. I need some kind of structure to work on all my projects, but creating that structure... oof...

i did come up with a few newish wip ideas (which will continue to marinate for now but i'll ramble in the tags) but of my "main" wips:

TWAP is getting a lot of thought, mainly in terms of character connections. I feel like I've mentioned this before, but well, it's still happening. Also I feel like it's finally solidifying as a story which is really nice :) There are some things I need to start doing before/while I write it though. Namely, a lot of TWAP is traveling and being around people you don't really know, so I've been trying to be a lot more attentive of my environment and strangers, just so I can try and get the vibes when I'm writing it.

In the Name of a Capitalized Lord: this one has had sooooo much thought about it! when i created the wip intro post, the plot was actually a recent change. I'm not sure if you remember or if I revealed enough about the wip for others to know, but at first it was really just going to be an alternate historical fiction work. However it was a case like TWAP where something just wasn't clicking. I was listening to this podcast that deals with fantasy religious horror though, and then it clicked that that's the kind of place I wanted to take the religion in capitalized lord. still ironing out the conclusion of the story but it's another case where i'm a lot more satisfied with how the story is now.

the house creation, the house indifferent: ngl i did not work on this one almost at all. I'm in the redrafting phase and something about redrafting and editing it just makes it so hard to get through, even though writing it for the first time was pretty quick for me. Maybe the more I get back to writing, the more fluid the process will be.

How has the weather been for you? Ik you've been pretty busy, but any new (or old) thoughts about your characters?

Yep! I'm a doctor working on a surgical ward. But I'm ngl if someone comes into the office and says "Doctor" to get my attention, i do not look up because I have not yet absorbed the fact that that is me. In terms of time to rest ... not really! Am on the job ... trying to learn how to not suck at the job 😂

I'm glad your mental health is stable. Now that I've moved I probably need to look into going back to therapy

Altho saying this, it would be pretty cool to read your zine. What is your short story about? I think having lots of short term artistic goals is smart tbh. Stops you from being overwhelmed, but encourages you to keep up with skills. Maybe I should try that ...and hey if it helps with the self esteem and Mental Illness then even better.

Do you have to go back to school to do this thing in September? I feel you on the comparing yourself to friends. It's better not to do it but it's hard not to. A lot of my friends did shorter courses than me at much better universities so have been working for a lot longer and earning for a lot longer. So it's hard not to feel behind.... i get that. I think as long as you validate your feelings but don't let them take over it's okay? Another one of my friends just got engaged 2 weeks ago. I feel like I'm so far behind, just starting out work and missing an ex who left me a year ago. Idk it takes time. But defffooo tell your unhelpful fam to fuck off for sure!!!

wow! i don't know shit about surgeries or being a doctor but i'm sending you strength. it doesn't sound easy! but when somebody comes in and calls you 'doctor' and you don't realize it's you at first: that is such a mood. children call me "ma'am" and i always forget they're talking to me and not to some other lady behind me 😂

my short story is about sad gay people (no one is surprised). it takes place in 4 parts (childhood/teen/30s/50s) and it's about the relationship between 2 women who love each other but it never seems to work between them. and also it's about death. it's in french but maybe i'll translate it one day so my english speaking friends can read it

short term artistic goals are the best tbh, keeping me sane since i left high school

technically i don't Have to go back to school in september... but otherwise i would have to find a job and there's no guarantee i find one. i haven't paid the registration fee for next year yet tho (i have until the end of this month i think) bc it IS a lot of money. i have that money, i just wanted to keep it for other expensive stuff... so idk i'm procrastinating my registration until i won't be able to. i love Not Making Choices

yup exactly i'm trying to acknowledge my feelings but not let them overcome me. tho i guess i'm lucky, i don't have the feeling i'm late in the relationship department, though i am very single. i guess i really don't care about being Different in this domain, while i do in the Career domain... it's strange to feel SO confident and carefree about one thing and totally lost & powerless in another. i really don't think you're late either. relationships take time and a lot of luck (i know it's also a lot of work but you also need to find the right person. which takes a bit of luck). i'd rather be 40 and finally find my soulmate than being 40 and divorcing my spouse of 15 years, you feel me?

Beanpole

Ever since you met Lev, he is just always teasing you about your height. It was annoying at first but it was cute. And well, you were dealing with what every girl goes through, her period. You didn’t want to snap at Lev with all his teasing and provoking. You plan on ignoring him until he realizes to stop. “Awwww, is my cute little shortie mad?” Lev said as placed his arm on your head. “Or is she jealous because I’m playing too much?” He then added as he leaned down to see you eye to eye. You gave him the silent treatment and you walked away. Leve pouted as he walked beside you. He didn’t want you to ignore him. He wanted your attention and your love. He then started to franticly walk around you, asking you what was wrong. However, you simply ignored him and walked away. He then sulked and walked away. But he wasn’t gonna give up yet, so he asked his best friend, Yaku.

“Dwarf~ Why is she ignoring me?” Lev asked as he dragged the "e" in me. “Respect your elders!” the shorter started as he kicked the poor boy. “And isn’t it the time of the month for her?” Yaku then said as he looked at the calendar. “You are such a bad boyfriend! You don’t even remember when she has her period? HA! You deserve that silent treatment,” He added as he looked at Lev with a glare. “I know! I know! Can you please help me? Please! I’ll do anything,” Lev then begged as he sulked. “Anything? Sure,” Yaku then said with a smirk. And so Lev did regret saying anything, he thought it was worth it if it meant getting you to talk to him.

After the pointers that Lev got from Yaku, the tall half-Russian male then started his plan. First, he left letters in your bag when you weren’t looking. He also had helped from your friends to get those notes in place. Then at break time, he got you your favorite snack or dessert, which he bought himself. Once the letters and the snack were in play. He then wrote a letter to you for an apology and to ask you out on a small café date later. And with all that, His efforts paid off and he was able to get your sweet, sweet, attention.

“You really are a dense beanpole,” You say as you poked his sides. “I am but I’m your bean pole!” He exclaimed as he kissed your forehead. “And next time! I’ll make sure to be better. I’m the future ace of Nekoma after all,” He added as he placed his hands on your shoulder.

Oh and also (sorry for all these asks tonight, I'm procratinating on this article I have to write :')) do you have any tips how to improve your language? Because ngl sometimes you use a vocabulary I am absolutely NOT familiar with haha and I know I'll never be 100% bilingual but I feel like I'm always using the same words and would love to learn some new ones I could use, because even my translation websites have pretty "common" synonyms :')

omg no need to apologize!! i am gonna answer this ask first just because it’ll be a little bit of a shorter answer but i’m gonna get to the others as soon as i’m done lmao!!!

i’ll be honest, i’m a native english speaker and i definitely have felt that same way - like i just have this set of tried-and-true Words that i use for writing and i very rarely deviate from that collection of words. but i’ve come to the realization that as long as those words are able to communicate the idea that you have in your head to the paper (or screen lmao) then your vocabulary is doing just fine!! i can’t imagine how scary it must be to write a full-length fic in a language that isn’t native to you and i SO admire you and everyone else who does it anyways!!!

when i was a kid and i was first getting into reading, if i came across a word i didn’t know how to pronounce/didn’t know the meaning of/generally didn’t recognize, i would underline it (in pencil) and then reread the whole passage to see if i could figure the meaning out based on context. if i couldn’t do that, i would go look it up on dictionary.com (god bless the early 2000′s tbh) and then reread the passage again with that definition in mind. i honestly probably learned half of my vocabulary that way - i still have a VIVID memory of reading the 6th harry potter book for the first time and coming across a sentence that used the word “furtive” and i had no idea what it meant until i looked it up, and EVERY time i see that word now i think of that scene lmao. and honestly i still come across words that i’ve never seen before!! it just happened to me earlier today!!! i don’t know that i would even call myself fluent at this point!!! but honestly reading as much as possible really worked for me. i’ve heard of people doing similar things, except instead of underlining words they’ll carry little notebooks around with them and when they come across a word they don’t recognize they’ll write it down and look it up later!

honestly the most important thing you can do is to remember that you’re learning a super weird and complicated language (a language that a lot of people who speak it natively don’t completely understand!!) from people who have been speaking it their entire lives. trying to compare your progress to fics written by native english-speakers will only lead to frustration. and by the way, you speak english EXTREMELY well!! i never would have guessed that english is your second language. you are very well-spoken and in every message i’ve ever gotten from you/every post i’ve ever read from you, it’s obvious to me that you choose your words carefully and lovingly and THAT is the mark of an excellent writer, in ANY language. don’t worry about the specific vocabulary - just make sure it communicates what you want it to communicate!!
