hey!! just wanted to let you know that the music used when dot finds the nail isn't actually november/the piece used in the leftovers, but it's actually jeff russo's track called "orchestra for nikki" from s3!! they do have extreme similarities in the string arpeggios but russo's ost is a bit different :)

Yes, thank you. Someone else pointed that out to me as well. It's uncanny how alike they are. It may be that they were calling attention to Dot getting a second chance at life the way Nikki did at the bowling alley. If so, I hope Dot can bring down "the wicked" on Nikki's behalf. I believe the character of Dot Lyon is a fictional creation intended to give Jean Lundegaard a second chance in her story, so that would be a great parallel.

Having just watched the Fargo season 5 finale, I have to say I didn't know I was going to tear up from watching a 500 year old man eating a biscuit. But I was moved by his story, by how oblivious Wayne was throughout all of it (which was also kind of hilarious to me), and by how forgiving Dot was.

She forgives not one but two of her kidnappers. I wish I saw more of Gator in this episode, he turned his dad in, showed contrition and reconciled with Dot. I couldn't really ask for a gentler for him ending given how unsympathetic he was most of the season. Yes, he lost his eyes and is in jail, but he kept his life and perhaps found a bit of his soul.

My heart breaks for Witt Farr, though. He deserved so much better, but he was just too good and too fair, if that's possible. His last scene really stings. The only other character whose ending broke my heart like that was Nikki Swango's.

Roy finally being weak, powerless, and periodically beaten by his inmates is the ending he deserves.

This was the first time I watched Fargo as the season aired. I'm going to miss it on Tuesday nights.

THIS IS A TRUE STORY

The events depicted in this AU took place in New York throughout many years

At the request of the survivors, the names have been changed.

Out of respect for the dead, the rest has been told exactly as it occurred.

In this anthology fanfic based on TV series Fargo, each Part follows a different iteration of the TMNT cast who get involved with the murders investigations of important characters throughout New York City that drastically change the events of the shows or comics, with characters even having different roles. Along with seemingly unrelated crimes sometimes being connected in some way.

Basically each iteration has something different about them whether being a character from an iteration that wasn’t in said iteration appearing, a new criminal group(03) or a character’s role changing

Season 1(03)- In 2003, John Bishop passes through Manhattan and influences the community, including Scientist Baxter Stockman into a path of malice and violence to protect themselves at whatever the cost. Meanwhile, Deputy April O’Neil and vigilante Casey Jones team up to solve a series of murders they believe may be linked to Stockman and Bishop.

Season 2(IDW; City At War) - Season 2(IDW; City At War) - In 2019, Mutanimal members Sally Pride and Man Ray cover up Ray’s hit and run of the son of a crime family boss based out of Hell’s Kitchen. While brothers Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo become entangled with the Hell’s Kitchen Mob, The Mutanimals and Foot Clan when the brothers are forced to investigate a triple homicide connected to the Hell’s Kitchen Mob and Foot Clan at a diner in Lower Manhattan when a Newscaster threatens to expose them to the public. Along with that, New York state trooper Lou Solverson and Richmond County officer Chris Bradford also investigates the diner murders and also find themselves getting dragged into and investigating plot involving the Foot Clan, The Turtles, Mutanimals, EPF and Baxter Stockman as it all grow into a City Wide massacre.

Season 3(2012) - After recent shortcomings and realization, Tiger Claw finds himself hunted down by the Foot Clan after quitting. Causing two members of the Foot, Fishface and Rahzar to come up with a plan to try and kill Tiger Claw with the help of couple Ray Stussy, a parole officer/foot member who was forced to join after witnessing a fight with the turtles and the Foot, and his new girlfriend Nikki Swango(Both returning characters from Fargo), an ex convict. However the plan backfires causing the deaths of a police chief and gang member, triggering a chain recent of events between the Foot, NYPD and the SoHo Yakuza. Along with that, a low ranking police officer in the NYPD, Lindsay Barker, and crime scene photographer Warren Stone try to figure everything out to prevent further bloodshed.

Season 4(Mutant Mayhem)- Mutant crook Hypno-Potamus(Formerly known as Mezmer Ron) accidentally stumbles upon a talent show set and finds himself skyrocketing into the entertainment industry. However he soons finds himself entangled in a gang war when he witnesses gang leader Superfly kill a distributor of his. Now a member of the Mutanimals against his will and also for the Liberty Mafia after being blackmailing by their boss, Ethan DeLuca, Hypno goes back and forth between the groups as he tries to find a way out, then deciding to con both sides of the war. Surely deceiving a psychopath(Superfly) and a narcissist(Ethan) can’t be too hard right?

Season 5(Rise) - In 2018, Baron Draxum kidnaps Leonardo Hamato to hopefully get him to join him. However the turtle makes it impossible, to where brainwashing him won’t work either. Draxum then tries to drag out Leo’s father Splinter, formerly known as Lou Jitsu, which fails as well. While Leo’s brothers deal with idiotic villains going after them, April hires John Bishop, a mysterious Special Agent with ties to the TBI(Texas Bureau of Investigation) and CIA and a person who escaped from Draxum’s lab years prior without trouble and temporarily dated the Battle Nexus Host, Big Mama, before she could get the chance to use him as a Battle Nexus Fighter. However, Bishop isn’t exactly who he appears to be, maybe not human at all, and he plans to rescue Leo while at the same time plotting to take Draxum out of the picture, permanently.

Highly Irregular Fargo Week 2024

(Anniversary Edition!)

Highly Irregular Fargo Week is a weeklong fanworks event celebrating rare characters in both the FX series Fargo and the 1996 Coen Brothers movie which inspired it.

This year's event will mark the 10th anniversary of the Fargo TV series premiering on FX in 2014. It will run from Monday, April 15, to Monday, April 22, 2024 — because a week with eight days is highly irregular.

What counts as a highly irregular character?

Highly irregular characters are rare characters. For the purposes of this event, characters with under 50 works in the Fargo (TV) and Fargo (1996) tags on Archive of Our Own (AO3) as of this posting are considered rare.

For reference, the currently ineligible characters are: Mr. Wrench, Mr. Numbers, Lorne Malvo, Lester Nygaard, and Gator Tillman.

Can my work include a non-rare character?

Non-rare characters may be mentioned or appear briefly, but the major focus of the work should be on at least one rare character. Basically, if the non-rare character’s appearance would warrant them being tagged on AO3, they feature too prominently.

What if my work focuses on a rarepair?

This is a rare character event, not a rarepair event. However, rarepair works are welcome as long as the pairing doesn’t include any non-rare characters.

So, for example, Nikki Swango/Mr. Wrench would be ineligible, because while the pairing itself has under 50 works on AO3, Mr. Wrench as a character has over 50 works. 

Are crossovers allowed?

Crossovers between the Fargo TV series and the Fargo movie are allowed. Crossovers with non-Fargo fandoms are not.

Are original characters allowed?

Yes, as long as the work also prominently features at least one rare canon character.

Does it have to be fanfiction? Can I post art or other types of fanwork?

All types of fanwork are welcome, as long as they focus on at least one rare Fargo character. That includes art, GIFs, graphics, fanmixes, fanvids, meta, etc.

Do I have to follow the schedule?

The schedule is completely optional, and is only there to provide inspiration for those who might need it. Feel free to ignore it entirely, or switch around the days.

Where and when should I post my work?

You can add your fanworks to the AO3 collection, and/or post them on Tumblr. For Tumblr posts, be sure to use the tag #hifargoweek2024, and/or mention @hifargoweek​ in the post.

The collection will open at approximately 12 am EDT on April 15 and close at approximately 11:59 pm EDT on April 22. Eligible works posted on Tumblr during the same period will be reblogged to this account.

Why do you hate [insert popular character here]?

I don’t! The purpose of this event is simply to give more attention to the less popular characters in the fandom, and to challenge fans to stretch their creative muscles.

Are there any other requirements?

Nope! Works of any length, rating, category, and archive warning are eligible. Feel free to post as many works as you’d like, as long as they meet the requirements for rare characters.
