A and N for the fanfic writer asks!

A: Of the fanfic you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

Probably Bad Books at this point, for a whole variety of reasons. I got to write someone coming out to themselves and then others as a trans woman, and got to put a little bit of my own experiences into that.

Bad Books and Doghoused (the fic before it in the series) also marked a real leveling up in my writing compared to what I'd written before, in that my writing was suddenly up to my standards at the time, and I could see how much better it was than stuff I'd written before it.

Also Bad Books and Doghoused marked breaking away from writing Haikyuu!! fanfic for me at the time, which I was excited to do after some lackluster event experiences and just sort of doing that cringing at your past self sort of thing, which I'm past now thankfully.

But specifically Bad Books was really rewarding to write, in terms of leveling up my writing ability, feeling proud of my work, and being at least a little bit personal in a way that I'm okay with.

N: Any fic ideas brewing that you’d care to share?

A lot of my fic ideas struggle to get past the "wouldn't that be a good fic idea" stage but I have a few things bouncing around:

Ming Fan gets dressed up like a pretty girl by Ning Yingying

beefleaf gone girl au where one of them frames the other for murder, etc.

Sha Hualing attempts to murder Ming Fan to get back at NYY for petty poly relationship reasons (ningmingling, nyy/mf)

beefleaf gender horror fic (hard to explain)

of course apart from that I have exactly 1 current wip which is fengqing which I talk about sometimes.

getting really tender thinking about luo binghe and ning yingying as bffs..

they help plan and cry at each others weddings and INSIST on making everything perfect because "my shidi/shijie only deserves the BEST"... binghe gives sha hualing the most intimidating shovel talk of her LIFE which is saying something because she already got one from liu qingge on account of also marrying liu mingyan and then he debates whether or not to do the same to liu mingyan and decides she's probably fine because of resentment of chunshan... ning yingying feels a little awkward shovel talking her shizun but ANYTHING to make sure a-luo is happy... and then sometimes sha hualing brings her wife over to the demon palace and binghe acts all formal with her in front of his court and then as soon as they're behind closed doors it turns into 🥺🥺 ning-shijie can you please tell me what was in the cookies you brought last time shizun loved them!! ☺️☺️ of course a-luo !! i miss when we used to cook together on qing jing peak! please do come visit me and mingyan-jie and ling-er sometime, and make sure to bring shizun!!
