Will they? I have no way of knowing if people don’t show that they’re reading in any way. Which, most people don’t. Tumblr has no hit counter, so all I have to go on is my notes, which have decreased drastically since the fandom heyday. And the old prompts I still have left are ones that are more difficult to write, so I’m not sure if it’s worth the effort of several hours of writing to maybe have one or two people read them. Writing has gotten very discouraging, not gonna lie.

Yes people are fucking dying and no I don't ever feel like. Great about people being killed in missile strikes.

But I also don't feel great about decades of civilians, including over 2,100 children in the last 20 years, being killed both by missile strikes and by being shot or beaten to death in the street.

250 people were killed in the Hamas rocket attacks on Saturday, which is around the same as the number of Palestinian people the Israeli security forces had murdered this year before Saturday, and significantly less than they've killed since Saturday.

look the people are not the state and despite Israel being an apartheid colony, being an Israeli citizen doesn't necessarily imply 100% agreement. It's been 70 years and 3 generations since Israel was established as a state and the majority of Israeli civilians now didn't choose to come, they're living in the country they were born (although the same is not so much true for people living in Gaza who have recently occupied the stolen homes of Palestinians). Israelis are human people with lives and hopes and passions and deaths of any person are tragic.

BUT.

Palestinians are human people with lives and hopes and passions and their lives matter just as much and are snuffed out without the international community batting an eye - I remind you again. 212 Palestinians including 38 children were murdered this year before this weekend's missile strikes and if you didn't give a shit until Hamas killed the same number of Israelis at which point everyone went OH MY GOD THE HUMANITY HOW COULD PALESTINIANS DO THIS (while Israel killed 300+ more Palestinians in under 24 hours) that's bc uhhhh you're fucking racist and don't think Palestinian lives are as important as Israeli ones

so like. sure we can acknowledge that 250 Israeli civilians' deaths are a tragedy, if we can also agree that the 300+ Palestinian civilians killed in retaliatory strikes are a tragedy and most importantly if we can agree that the 200+ Palestinians killed in 2023 before the Hamas strikes this weekend are not just a tragedy but a deliberate atrocity.

in January the Israeli government made it vocally clear before the UN than not only do they consider the occupation of Palestine permanent, they are explicitly focused on taking over as much Palestinian land as possible in perpetuity. Since then this whole year there have been a total of only FOUR (nonconsecutive) FULL WEEKS in which NO Palestines were killed by Israel (compared to only 8 weeks in which Israelis WERE killed, of which 2 incidents were friendly fire from another IDF member)

It's legitimately tragic when people are killed. And Israel has been systematically killing Palestinians to the degree there are Palestinian casualties recorded about 3 days in every 5 this year, usually multiple, with displacements, demolitions, injuries, arrests and beatings recorded almost every single day. I do not know how LITERALLY anyone can look at the numbers from this year, let alone the last 75, and conclude that Israel is the victim of unprovoked violence.

What do you consider to be a middle class salary and amiddle class life in 2023? Is class related to income or is it on birth/accent/last name in your opinion?

I'm not entirely sure buddy, depends on where you live because cost of living is different everywhere. I would assume its enough to cover rent in a safe enough area, food, transportation to work, and enough extra to bring home for retirement and at least a little tiny bit of recreation like trips/ hobbies. I'd say 60K might do it in my area, but in places like LA or NYC you might need more because its so expensive there. A middle class life is different for everyone, we all have different ideals on what a normal/ average life is. Mine is to be able to cover my basic needs food/shelter/health/transportation, be saving enough to retire at a normal age ~65, with the added ability to put like at least 100$ aside a month for fun things like trips, games, a new sketchbook, classes, a boba tea or 2. It would be an added lovely bonus if my work would allow for me to not be severely hurt by retirement because of the labour i put in, but if thats what it takes for me to be able to live comfortably while im young i would work anyway.

That second question is one I'm super not qualified to answer. I'm an artist by study, and a retail worker by practice. I don't know a lot about or have thought about that very much. My opinion is subject to change with the information i learn because right now i am very ignorant. This is my uninformed ignorant opinion:

Personally when saying something like "middle class" in the context of I live in America and this is how i have seen it used. It usually is not showcasing your ancestry, but the actual money you take home from work. slightly dependent on the amount of expenses you have, through choice or obligation. I can also see the other side though, I think there becomes a point in which your influence in a field or just life can let you ensure your children have a place somewhere where they will also carry that influence/automatically get things that others struggle hard for but will never obtain. (like a big house, career path opportunity, or just money in general) I can also see that if you grew up in a family who launched you into debt, caused an addiction, or started you off in life poorly "working hard" still might never get you out of the hole thats been dug. But when i think classes in 2023 im thinking this person has X amount of money after basic expenses and X amount of expensive recreation (boats, summer home, huge house, fancy car, ect) Not this person is middle class because their mother and father were middle class, which i am living proof that that is not always the case. Theres also tons of other factors that go into your ability to make money or get a job that may or may not play a part in your ancestry, but like,,, I dont study this kind of thing and I'm poor so my only resource is the free part of the internet (people would tell lies on the internet!!!???) and my own life experience. So I dont know and i might never know because this is def more complex of a topic in reality than what i mean with my own words ^^;

my last post was $220 short of my goal and completely stopped getting reblogs so i’m making a shorter newer post. tl;dr i was fired for putting in my two weeks and my bills have been piling up while i’m unable to work due to medication changes & an injury. i am also trans & disabled which makes finding a job much harder.

and it turns out my car insurance was $60 more expensive this month because i changed my plan to include collision coverage, and i owe over $1,500 on my credit card so i’m really struggling to pay it back (this is on top of the $11,000 i’m already in debt). making my new goal $500 to help me pay off 30% of my credit card, and help me not get fucked over financially while i’m waiting for another job.

happy new year everyone, im sorry to make such a post in the new year but i am entering the new year with debt 😂😂😂😂😂 i know we are all financially struggling right now and i genuinely hate to do this but i really don't want my gas and electric cut off :/ i didn't get my usual pay last week either due to the Christmas holidays so its been really rough lately.
