☆ I absolutely adore the fact he has a good relationship with his family and that they understand/support his point of view. It's so refreshing to have a villain with a pretty good upbringing. The interaction between him and Ashe really speaks to me because of two reasons:

One-- the fact that Ashe speaks to him first. To me it reads as her trying to gain some kind of explanation for his destructive actions. After all, she has a shitty family and likely reckons most those in Talon have similar paths/backstories. It's like she's asking as if to just make sense of him and categorize him as another tragically lead ~villain~. And that's immediately shot down when he answers pretty flat-out that they're supportive of him.

Two-- The TONES. I may be reading way too much into this but the way they speak to each other speaks volumes about what they were feeling in that conversation. The lighter tone Akande uses shows how fond he is of his family, and indicates a level of care he holds for his parents. Meanwhile Ashe's initial tone is jabbing and almost sarcastic, like she knows the answer already. Then it immediately swaps to jealousy in her second line. It's so good and speaks so much about their family dynamics.

☆ The respect he holds for a good handful of the others regardless of their alignment. Apart from Baptiste, he doesn't show malice to most Overwatch heroes. He speaks to 76 and Cassidy like they were having small talk or a business proposal. And while he is technically their enemy, he acknowledges their strengths and for some characters he offers a job position.

☆ AKANDE'S SPORTSMANSHIP LEAKS INTO HIS PERSONALITY. Not a lot of people play Doom so the dialogue is often missed, but he is a pretty good sport when it comes to losing!! If he's wiped out by a Talon member, he commends them as he responds! The tone Akande uses is formidable; he's no sore loser. Man takes L's as lessons and improves himself with them. He's also respectful and somewhat guiding with heroes like Brig and Dva-- admiring their strength and offering his perspective on life... Whether or not they care to hear his opinions is not important. XD

I ALSO WANT TO SAY I LOVE THAT HE TAKES BEING DEFEATED BY KIRIKO WITHOUT ANY BITTERNESS TOO-- He loses like a CHAMP.

☆ Hear me out-- He's a fucking goober. Not in a comic-relief type of way, either. Doom's just got a hint of playfulness in his personality that I think really rounds his character. Some of his lines are so unnecessary when he fights (ie. "Selsmic Slam! Rocket Punch!") that while may be used for gameplay ...... I'd argue that it does something else; it shows him being a bit of a silly nerd because he sometimes acts like a comic book character. Especially with the line "Face my burning fist!" Like..... That's so silly.

☆ The way he dismisses anger as a motivator for so many of the characters is incredibly interesting. It can be assumed that when he killed his mentor the thing that fueled him was rage and such... But if you hear him talk to other characters he condemns characters for using anger as a motivator. Well, correction-- Akande seems to have issue with people who have anger as their only driving force to fight. He doesn't hold back from anyone, chastising Winston the same way he does Reaper when eliminating them.

But yes........ OwO he is fascinating and 100% a fan of Hatsune Miku (trust me I asked him myself)

HI HI HELLO. I remember seeing somewhere on your blog that you were chill with hearing people hyperfixate- and i have an unbridled amount of excitement at a new thing i can now create-but have nowhere to put all of this energy. I will tone it down quite a bit for your sake tho!!

I've been working on another style (I've been drawing cartoons all my life, and realized my style makes it hard to draw people without making them look cute or young)- and recently i got the ability to draw a version of Hyde (1nd1gnants version) in this other style!!! He's a big comfort character for me and has helped me through a lot of abuse- but drawing him all cutesy just... it was frustrating to put the least- didn't feel right y'know?

This style is hard for me to draw in since it's so vastly different from what I'm comfortable with - and it still doesn't look all that great- but hell we all start somewhere!!! And the ability to draw Hyde without him being a smol boi is inspiration enough!

So anyway i was just feeling good about being able to draw a comfort character and wanted to blast it somewhere so, thank you for your time! Heres a picture of the manz in this 2ed style- compared to my usual one.

I think if I was going to be an artist I’d definitely wanna draw some N A S T Y horror gunk, trying a new artstyle out seems pretty fuckin hard tbh but sometimes stepping outta the comfort zone helps and who knows maybe the style will grow on ya if you keep at it!

I’m glad you were feeling good tho! Always feels good writing or drawing a comfort character and it’s no problem, like I said here we yell and scream about any hyperfixations/fixations/and or special interests! also!! ooh yes he looks so so so scrungly!! a scrungy lad! Bang Chan:

Chan would want to do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to relieve you of your stress, but he doesn’t want to come off as too clingy. So I think the best solution he could come up with is first asking you to take a break and talk to him. He’d ask you what exactly about school is stressing you out, and he’ll try to help you in any way that he can. That doesn’t mean he’ll do the work for you (if he’s whipped enough he might write your essay) but he’ll definitely sit down with you and help you organize your thoughts/prioritize what’s necessary. He’d bring you snacks too~

“Okay baby cmon, let’s go take a walk and talk about what’s bothering you okay? We can come back in 10-15 minutes and I’ll help you get organized.”

Lee Know:

Minho would be more quiet and let you be. I think he’d resize you’re stressed, but he wouldn’t do much unless you straight up tell him it’s too much, or he sees you breaking down. In that case I think he’d opt for massaging your shoulders, then telling you to take a little break so you can go back to your work with a clear mind. During your break he’d probably also be one to make you a snack/meal and he’d feed it to you by hand🥺 Minho’s also a really good listener, so he’d definitely sit with you while you eat and rant (he’ll just be the listener unless you want advice)

“Ah... well I think she should’ve explained it better. Next time just email her to prevent that from happening again.”

Changbin:

I think Changbin is the type to be like “Oh let me see it? Yeah, yeah I think I can help you with it.” I don’t know much about their student lives, but Changbin strikes me as someone who was fairly good in school, so he would try to help you understand the content, if that’s what you’re struggling with in the school stress aspect. If you understand it and it’s a matter of not being motivated to do it, he’d try to motivate you because manz has a way with words

Hyunjin:

“Hey Hyunjinnie do you think you could help me with number 4-“

“AHHH! NO!”

... Uh, yeah good luck. Hyunjin isn’t helping you mostly because he doesn’t remember and/or understand because school is ✨yuck✨ and he’d rather not think about it. However, Hyunjin does understand that school is important for you because you want to do academically well to get your dream job. Jinnie cares about your mental health (like all of SKZ) so he’d prompt you to take a break. If you’re head on about finishing your assignments before taking a break, he’ll become serious and try to motivate you to the best of his ability. He’s the type to offer to sit with you and kiss you for each question you answer (correctly or not). He’d also probably lay in your lap while you type away on your computer, completely focused and seldom bringing one hand to his luscious hair while you reread what you wrote.

Han:

Again, I don’t have much idea about their school lives but I don’t think Jisung cared too much about school 💀 which probably means he won’t be as helpful in solving your math problems for you. I mean he’ll try, but you’re better off asking Google. Like Changbin, he’ll try to motivate you with his words and he’ll sit there with you till you’re done no matter how long that may be. Might even bring some fruit or cheesecake and feed you while you work (🥺)

“Hey, look at me. I know this is hard. I’m sorry I’m not much help but you can do it okay? If it’s too hard, then throw it away! It’s your teacher’s fault you don’t get it. But I want you to try your best okay? Remember I’m your #1 fan. Let’s try this again yeah? LETS GET IT WOOH!”

Felix:

“Fuck it. Let’s go make brownies!”

Felix doesn’t give a flying fuck. I mean yes, education is important but if he sees you breaking down because of a few assignments that won’t matter in 10 years, he’s going to do the one thing he knows he can do to (temporarily) distract you; making you food!

So he’d probably ask you to come bake with him do you can clear your mind, and then he’d try to coax you back into working (because he doesn’t want his baby to be sad because they didn’t do an assignment 🙃)

“Good brownies right? Well, now let’s see if you have enough energy to finish that project! I can proof read anything you want.”

Seungmin:

“Honey, why don’t I try to teach it to you? I remember learning this.”

Tutor Minnie!! Baby wants to help you with your homework as much as possible. He’d probably be able to help you a LOT which you are absolutely greatful for. He’s not doing any of the work for you; of course he wants to transfer all of your stress to him but he knows that you learning the content would be more beneficial for you than him just doing it without explaining anything. So he’d sit there for HOURS if needed, all to help you understand your school content. He’d praise you for getting things correct/learning the concept

“It’s okay, it’s not an easy concept. Let’s go get a snack and we’ll come back to it okay? I can explain it in another way.”

I.N:

Honestly at first I had no idea how he’d react

Jeongin would feel terrible. It hasn’t been long since he was sitting at his desk all day cramming for exams; he remembers all of the breakdowns and sleepless nights. He hated how it effected him and he hates seeing the same thing happening to you. So he’d probably take care of you the way he wished he took care of himself; forcing you to take at least a 5 min break every 30 min or so, making sure you’re hydrated and eating, helping you section off the content so you can focus on one topic every 30 min interval. He wouldn’t know exactly what to do but he knows that he just doesn’t want you to suffer because of school stress. So he will definitely spend a good chunk of his time getting you to relax

“You’ve been at it for 2 hours.. okay. Let’s go to the restaurant across the street. We’ll take the food to go and I can help you study while we eat”

- you tried to recall the events from today with much difficulty as you strolled on the sideway at 4pm, still in school uniform but much messier than when you first got out of the house this morning, backpack lazily thrown over your left shoulder

- your house wasn't even close to the way you were going and you couldn't care less

He tossed himself around in bed, staring at the wall mere inches away from his face. It had been hours since he shut off the lights, and he just finally felt his eyes slide closed. He let himself drift, terrified he wouldn't have another chance, until his phone buzzed on the floor where it was charging. Incoming call: LANCE Keith immediately answered. "Lance? Hey man, what's up?" "Keith? Keeeeeiiiithh! My buddy! Mah Manz!" Oh yea, Lance was very obviously drunk. "Lance what the hell dude it's 3:07 am on a Thursday. Why are you drunk right now?" Keith bit back his concern and replaced it with annoyance, in a desperate attempt to scare Lance away from the public-sounding setting in the background. "Me? Drunk? On a... Thursday?" Lance feigned some sad attempt at a sigh, "Of course I am, Keith." He had already sat up and reached for his shoes before the question fully formed in his mind. "Do you need me to come get you?" "Wha? No no it's... it's okay, really. I have a means of getting home." Lance didn't sound very sure of himself, so Keith grabbed his keys anyways. "Right. Where are you?" - It wasn't like Keith hadn't experienced a drunk Lance, because he definitely has, at full force no less, but this Lance wasn't the drunk Keith was accustomed to at all. This drunk Lance didn't flirt senselessly to him, didn't try sitting in the same seat, didn't even so much as look Keith's way. If he hadn't've said thank you when Keith opened the car door, he would've been sure that Lance didn't even register his existence. Keith pulled into a parking lot after a few long painful minutes of silence. "What's up, dude." Keith flipped the car into park, and turned to face Lance. "I-It's just..." And then the dam broke. Lance was crying, he was holding his head in his hands, he was shaking so violently that Keith was certain he was shaking the car. "Keith, I... we've kissed before, right?" Lance had yet to look Keith in the eye. He vaguely remembered being dared to when they first met, but never since then. "It was a dare. You seemed absolutely repulsed by it." Lance finished before Keith ever answered. "We were practically strangers then, not to mention I have little to no experience in the field." Keith wanted Lance out of this mood, and out of it now. He didn't have the time or energy to talk Lance through yet another "you have value" speech, especially at such a late hour. "I could always tutor you. Seems to be the only thing I'm good for anyways." "Bullshit. First, Lance you are in no position to try and teach anyone anything, second, you do so many great things, and people take advantage of that. They don't deserve you. They don't deserve the boy who gives awesome hugs and loves to cuddle and is always fun to talk to." Keith looked at the clock, 3:49 am. "My only redeeming qualities revolve around my own needs for reassurance and physical attention. Nobody wants to deal with me." Lance huffed into the window, and Keith sighed before starting the car. "You're much more than wanting reassurance and attention. You're a really cool guy, and my friend. Don't beat yourself up over this." They drove the rest of the way to Lance's house in silence, and when Keith pulled in front the driveway, Lance turned before shutting the door. "I love you, Keith. Thanks man." Lance gave a casual wave before heading up the sidewalk. "Love you too dude, get some sleep." He waved, and drove off. 4:58 am. He doubted Lance would go to school with a hangover, but Keith figured he'd just have to suffer through another school day without any sleep the night before. Or before that. Or before that. He cared about Lance, really, he did. Lance was getting to be a handful, and even when Keith pushed himself past his own personal bubble to ensure Lance felt included and loved, Lance wanted more. More hand holding. More random cuddles that Keith never originally agreed to. More exaggerated hugging in the middle of the high school halls. Keith didn't want to make Lance feel as if he'd been leading him on, just as he hoped he wasn't being lead on. Keith was tired. Keith just wanted to be able to go to sleep for once. Lance still felt like a bother, like he had worn his friend out. He cares about Keith, but he needs to know that someone gives half a shit about him or his efforts. Lance was alone. He felt abandoned but slowly being rebuilt, and hoped Keith dealt with him long enough to where he could fix himself.
