Also you mention earlier in ch2 in the dreamscape that Leonas isn’t much darker than minnow, and later I think during the Incredibly Hot Picnic Date Threesome you write that he’s to minnow as she is to karzarul, so I was wondering what you picture their skin tones as?
that's partly up to a difference in perspective. minnow and leonas both use themselves and each other as a basis of comparison, which is a lot fuzzier. minnow hold's karzarul's hand and is like "wow i'm dark" and then she hold's leonas' hand and is like "wow i'm pale". leonas hold's minnow's hand and is like "yeah i'm kinda dark" but next to karzarul is like "when did i get this much sun what the fuck".
meanwhile karzarul is the color of The Fucking Moon so his basis of comparison is actually every human he's ever met in his life. he doesn't involve himself at all really. it would never occur to him to do that because he's a different thing. he's operating with a scale that goes from xueli abbing to nyakim gatwech. he thinks minnow and leonas are both pretty middle-of-the-road.
anyway i'm lazy so here's some foundation swatches from too faced
minnow is around warm sand, leonas is at maple but if he got more sun he'd be mahogany
