and also all three frankly needed it. naruto and sasuke both a) needed to meet more people their rank who could kick their asses and b) would have clearly vibrated out of their bodies if they didn't progress further for a whole 'nother year. and sakura desperately, desperately needed have a fight on her own, and also to punch ino in the face. for her confidence, you understand.

and if the chunin exam hadn't been a clusterfuck of orochimaru and sand-nin on beast-steroids, they would have kicked ass! all three of them! in fact, the chunin exams were a clusterfuck and they still did great. it was great for all three of their progressions! multiple extenuating circumstances gathered together to push sasuke off the deep end afterwards, and it still very very nearly didn't work because the little bastard had learnt friendship! kakashi wasn't wrong at all!)

Okay first of all not only is everything they say about the wanting Hinata instead of Sakura on Team 7 things correct, but it would also completely alter the storyline.

Sasuke and Naruto are rivals and they push each other way to far.

Sakura is there to mellow them out.

You really think Hinata would be able to chill them at all?

No.

Secondly, having someone with byakugan on the team from the start would have ruined every surprise moment team 7 reveal.

Sensory nin would have seen threw everything before Sasuke in the Forest of Death In the Chinnin exams.

We never would have learned their strengths or weaknesses at because this start what we learn how skilled ninja even genin must be how manipulative other ninja are.

The password and Sasuke immediately setting it as a trap for someone who isn't Naruto.

Moment one they're beginning watched.

Meanwhile Naruto is being eaten by a literal snake.

Hinata Byukugan would have easily seen this and we would know next to nothing about how well trained you have to be to survive a leveling in your own hidden village as a ninja.

Third Hinata habit of fainting over Naruto would have definitely backwheeled them.

Seriously she can't be that close to him all the time it won't work here's why.

Sakura faints during the exam with Kakashi but Hinata is shy-shy, she faints very easily and it's not her fault really you think as a Pro-Sakura medically this is due to her being unable to handle her blood pressure going up so high.

High blood pressure for someone who stays at low blood pressure medically does not work.

Also Sakura begging Naruto to bring Sasuke back would have Been as heartrenching cause they wouldn't be bonded.

SasuSaku would not have happened considering all they went threw together as genin.

Seriously people if you want me to truly tell you all the facts that would completely f*** up this story by changing Sakura and Hinata on Team 7 I have about 70 different one in mind just ask.
