This is a story about acting against our own interests and the withering of creative potential. Blocking the willing of self-expression, a person locks up the bestowed treasures. And everything inside begins to fade away 🥀

AUTO-

Sometimes something in us can act against ourselves. Whether we keep track of it or not, we are both the light and the dark side at such a moment. The prefix «auto-» in the title of my photograph means «self». Initially, the idea of this shooting was based on autoaggression, but I removed the second part of the term. Now the word works together with the image, and everyone will be able to reflect on the topic in their own way.

Shattered Beauty

With this self-portrait, I'd like to show how a woman's perception of her own beauty changes and can be destroyed under the influence of tragic circumstances and toxic environment. It was inspired by Bert Stern's last photographs of Marilyn Monroe, her life story and also by other strong women such as Britney Spears and Edie Sedgwick.

Butterflies symbolize freedom, which is one of the main themes of my art. This work is about embracing my personal and artistic freedom after a long period of creative blocks and battles against myself.

Project map: photo series, short film, zine

«Untitled» is an audiovisual tale that was created by child fantasy. Photos from the album and the short film become the artefacts from the different world. Someone tried to save scrappy memories by making a film: memories become indistinct at first and then vanish from your memory. We don’t remember our past and our memories can exist only on the photographs. You can see how a child’s drawing transforms into the surrealistic painting of adults reality. The final words is for the viewer. You can do your own interpretation of what you have just seen.
