#4.1 Lost & found
Grace was exhausted, but sleep still didn't come easy. It was his first night on the second floor, and it had been about a week since he last had Khun by his side.
Wearing Khun's clothes helped to trick his mind, but it could only do so much to ease his anxiety.
Grace summoned his pocket and dialed Khun's number, as he had done for the past nights. It rang a few times, and Grace braced himself for another missed call.
He shot up from his bed when he heard a familiar voice call his name.
"...Bam?"
"Oh my goodness!" Grace clutched his pocket in disbelief, "Khun!"
"Bam!" Grace could hear a choked sound from the other end, and Khun's voice had gone a little wet. "Oh, Bam, you're here, thank God. I thought–"
I thought I would never see you again. Grace completed the sentence in his mind.
"I found you," Grace whispered. His eyes stung with unshed tears, and the heavy weight in his heart finally lifted. "I finally found you."
"You found me."
There was an unmistakable smile and fondness on Khun's voice, and Grace let himself smile back. "I miss you."
"I miss you too," Khun whispered very softly, as if they were sharing a secret. It wasn't something he said often, after all. "I hope I can finally sleep better tonight. There’s a lot we need to discuss, but I'll save that for tomorrow."
Grace heard a yawn and caught himself doing the same. They wished each other goodnight and fell asleep with their call still connected.

Drown-Changbin
You don’t can’t swim, it’s the biggest fear you have but Changbin’s friends don’t know that. A small harmless joke almost turned deadly.
Warning-Angst with a fluff ending because I’m a sucker for fluffy endings
Edit: This turned out way fluffier than I expected, sorry.
Time started: 13:46 August 28th
Time finished: 22:47 September 1st
2.2k words, I got carried away.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There’s only one thing in the world that you hate more than spiders. Water. The way the water surrounds you, suffocating and cold scared you to no end. You didn’t mind small jugs of water or rain but the bigger the body of water, the warier you got. Water didn’t always scare you. It wasn’t until you got swept under the currents in the tides while playing in the ocean that you experienced a near death. When you got saved, you were scared. Scared of the power of water. Since then, every time you got in a pool, you froze and couldn’t remember how to swim causing you to flail uselessly until someone saved you. So in summary, water was your worst enemy.
Despite this water vendetta you have, your boyfriend, Changbin, still loved you. From the day you told him, he’s vowed to protect you from your fears. You loved him with your entire heart. He was the first one who actually took your feelings into consideration. That’s why you were confused as to why he said he wanted you to go to a pool party a few of his friends were holding. “You want me to go to a pool party?” You turned your head towards the male standing in the doorway of your shared bedroom. “You don’t have to go near the pool, they have chairs away from the water.” Now, you were face with a conflict.
Changbin had been looking forward to his graduation and this party was to celebrate. It was only going to be him and a few groups of friends that he usually hung out with. The finals had prevented him from being able to hang out with them. And it wouldn’t be long before he was held down by a job which would make it even harder to go and hang out with them. Sighing, you decided that you’d go because who were you to keep your boyfriend from being with friends? “I’ll go but I’m not going in the water.” Changbin smiled and tackled you in a hug before ordering some takeout for the night. No one wanted to cook after studying and finals.
The party was still a few weeks away as Changbin still has to receive his diploma while you watch from the bleachers. While he was prepping for his ceremony, you were stuck studying for your chemistry finals. If you were honest, you’d rather write a ten page essay why chemistry is irrelevant to what you aspire to be when you graduate. But you can’t. “Hey, babe?” Changbin called for you but you were still reading something so you held a finger up for him to wait. Not understanding the piece you just read or any of what you read, you slammed your book shut and looked up at him.
He was wearing his cap and gown, trying it on before the event to make sure it fit. “You look handsome, Binnie!” “Thank you! I was worried it was going to be too big but it fits like a glove. You smiled at him before jokingly placing his cap on your head. “This will be me next year and you’ll be the one on the bleachers watching me.” Changbin placed a kiss on your lips while stealing his hat back. “Mmhm. And I’ll be worse than your mom.” A laugh slipped from your lips as you remembered her rant about making a poster of your baby picture. “Oh yeah? How’s that?” “I still have the picture when you laughed too hard and you had the sauce from the spicy noodles coming out of your face.”
You gasped and playfully punched him. “Don’t you dare or I will make you a poster. How about the picture of you drooling on your trigonometry homework while listening to Girlfriend by Avril?” Now it was his turn to act offended. “First of all, that song is amazing. Second of all, you wouldn’t.” “I would too!” You two bickered back and forth about embarrassing pictures. The two of you were laughing until the early hours of the morning. “Oh shoot, guess I’m not getting any sleep before my finals. Plus, I didn’t even study.” Running your fingers, harshly through your hair, you stood up to go study for what time you had remaining. “I’ll help you.” Changbin changed and helped you study, taking his time to explain everything so you’d understand.
Thanks to your boyfriend, you ended up acing the test. It was relatively easy now that you understood the content that was taught. You ended up flying through all the questions in under an hour leaving you time to check and recheck before handing it in. Even your teacher was astonished at how fast you finished. He graded your test while you sat waiting for the bell to dismiss you. Right before you left, he handed the test back to you only to tell you that he was impressed with how well you did. To be honest, you didn’t know whether that was a compliment or an insult but you shrugged and ran out the door to show Changbin.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Graduation day rolled around and the seniors were excited. You quickly found a seat on the bottom row of the bleachers where later you found out was right by where Changbin was placed. Changbin’s younger friends found their way to the bleachers and sat by you. Secretly, you enjoyed the fact that you were not sitting by a sweaty, hairy man. Silence filled the auditorium as each person was called up to receive their diploma and get a picture. Multiple times, you found yourself stretching from the lengthy event. When the valedictorian finished her speech about the graduating class, the principal released the graduates to find friends and family.
Changbin ran towards you and hugged you tight. “You did it!” He was crying when you pulled away to look at him. “Aww, Binnie’s so happy!” His friends teased. You went to congratulate a few of the friends of yours as well. “Let’s go out to eat, my treat!” Your proposal was shot down by the boys wanting to go to your house and order pizza. It was nine to one so you found yourself ordering eight pizzas despite your protests. “You guys just cost me over a hundred dollars so you better enjoy it.” They thanked you and continued to do their own things. The younger freshman, Jeongin and Seungmin, continued to play fight on the floor while the sophmores, Felix and Jisung, played video games. And the junior and the last year graduate, Hyunjin and Woojin were arguing which flavor of chicken was better.
Chan, Lee Know and Changbin laughed in the corner about some of the teachers they had. You wouldn’t change change anything even if you had the chance to. Life was perfect, you thought until Chan mentioned the pool party. You froze up just thinking of the pool of water that will be antagonizing you from afar. “Hey, ______? Are you going?” Jeongin’s question brought you back from your miserable mind. “Yeah.” The doorbell stopped anyone from any farther questions as they were all busy running to the door to get the pizzas. “Thank you!” You watched in embarrassment as the pizza delivery boy shied away from the rowdy boys. “Guys! This is why I can’t order anything anymore. All the delivery people are scared to come to the door. Y’all are animals when it comes to food.” They gave you sheepish grins and you sighed defeated, grabbing a slice of pizza.
--------------------------------------------------
The pool party came faster than you anticipated. Earlier in the week, Changbin and you went swim suit shopping. He found the perfect swim trunks and sweet talked you into getting a bathing suit. It was a simple one piece that you placed with some shorts and Changbin’s t-shirt. He smiled as he watched you come out of the bathroom. “You know, you look good with my shirt on.” You rolled your eyes and laughed before telling him to go get changed. The car ride to Woojin’s house was long despite being only twenty minutes away. You insisted on driving like a grandma to make sure that you didn’t get there any faster. “You drove slow just to hit every red light didn’t you?” Changbin teased as you tossed the keys to him at the house. “Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t. Why does it matter?” You replied as you sulked towards the backyard where Woojin opened the fence for you two to get in.
It didn’t take long before he jumped in the pool with the others and played a game of Marco Polo. “_______! Come join us!” Felix waved you over not knowing your fear of water. Changbin said that you couldn’t and just left it at that. You were thankful that the boys listened and left you alone to have swim races. Of course, Chan won most times being on the swim team and winning medals but they all had large egos on their swim abilities. They didn’t stop until Woojin came out and asked a few boys to go with him to pick up some food for the party. Your boyfriend, being a kind person, offered to go with him as well as Minho who was bored. You on the other hand, went inside for a drink and told them to come back soon. “We will. I’ll get your precious boyfriend back as soon as possible.” “Woojin, I-” Woojin laughed before shutting the door.
You walked outside, unopened drink in hand, enjoying the sun. Instantly, you saw Seungmin sitting on the edge of the pool with his feet in the water. “Here, Seungmin. You look like you need this more than me.” He looked up at you and smiled while taking the water from your hands and drinking some. “Thanks!” You squealed as cold hands touched your back and you turned to see Jisung pushing you towards the water. “NOOO-” A scream left your lips as you fell in the water. The liquid surrounded you and you flailed before going under. Anxiety and panic set in and you couldn’t move no matter how hard you screamed at yourself in your head to move. To save yourself. A splash sounded next to you and you felt yourself slipping out of consciousness. Rough hands pulled you out of the water and onto the concrete next to the pool.
The water soaked the hot concrete and you coughed harshly gasping for air, your tears mixing in with the drops of chlorinated water on your face. “_____!” The sound was distant, far away from your head space. You could see the boys talking but no words were coming out. Felix reached out to help you and instinctively, your body curled up in a ball to protect yourself from whatever harm that you faced. You registered that you were screaming at them but you couldn’t hear what you were saying. Hearing the commotion, the returning boys hurried outside and Changbin dropped the bags in his hands and rushed to you, engulfing you in a hug not saying anything. “Why is she wet?” He demanded and watched as Jisung meekly respond that he pushed you into the pool. “I told you earlier that she didn’t want to swim but you didn’t listen. There was a reason for that.” Jisung turned away to hide his tears from guilt and worry. “Who saved her?” His words were quiet now as he watched you shake and sob in his hands.
“I did.” Chan stepped forward and bent down to check you out to see if you were in a speaking state. You weren’t, you were still incoherently babbling and crying. He pushed your hair out of your face and grabbed a towel to dry it while Changbin watched. Nobody got in the pool until they knew you were okay. It took a while before you calmed down enough to understand what everyone was saying. “Breathe with me.” Were the first words that came out clear to you. You did the breathing exercise with Chan. “Are you alright?” He asked. “I think so. I’m sorry.” “We all have our fears.” You weakly smiled at the blonde before turning to Changbin. “You had us,” He motioned to the boys and then to himself, “and me scared. I never want to feel that helpless again so I’m never leaving your side.” Your boyfriend kissed your cheek before touching his lips. “You are ice cold! I’ll ask Hyunjin to go get my sweatshirt from the car.” Before he asked, Jisung came up to you to apologize.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know you were scared of water.” He looked like he was about to cry once again. Behind him, Hyunjin handed you the sweatshirt and you slipped it on. “I probably should have told you guys before I came. Don’t blame yourself.” Jisung started to question how you could still be so kind even after he almost killed you. “Ji, you didn’t almost kill me. I panicked but Chan noticed and saved me.” He still tried to protest but you hugged him and told him not to worry. Jisung was taken aback but watched as you went to thank Chan. Chan smiled and said it was nothing and that it was a lifeguard’s duty to save the people of the pool. You laughed and he smiled knowing that he cheered you up. The party continued but you and Changbin sat away from the water, laughing at the boys antics occasionally being joined by one or two of the boys.
