Are you between the ages of 30 & 40? I still have to get through nearly another decade to get to that decade.
What was your favorite Saturday morning cartoon growing up? My favorites were The Wild Thornberrys and Little Bill, both on Nickelodeon. My sister and I also enjoyed this wacky show called The Upside Down Show but it wasn’t a cartoon.
What was your favorite toy as a child? I liked any toy that had a lot of buttons or features within it - dollhouses, kitchen sets, cash registers, toy phones, anything that could make me test how much it could do.
In High School did you wear acid washed jeans? No. It’s not a style I would be drawn to, then and now.
How much was a gallon of gasoline when you first started driving? I don’t know; I never paid much attention to gas prices, honestly.
What was your first car? It’s a 2014 (or 2015?) Mitsubishi Mirage I’m still using today, though it was my dad who paid for it and he’s the one who takes it out for oil changes and stuff.
Who taught you how to drive? My dad taught me a few times around the neighborhood, but he also enrolled me for like three classes in a driving school so that I got to learn how to drive in a highway.
What was your high school mascot? Both of my schools didn’t have any. My university does have a nickname for our varsity teams, but we’re simply just ‘Maroons’ and not an animal like what I usually see.
Did you go to your Senior Prom? We had a junior prom, nothing for senior year. I was invited to go to the senior ball in another school by Mike, though. That feels like ages ago; everything is so different now.
What did you do after graduation? After my high school graduation I went straight to college like most kids here. After graduating college, I immediately started looking for jobs; I landed an internship after a month and got absorbed into the company two months after.
What was your first job? I’m currently working as an associate at a public relations agency. This is my first job and for now, I’m content in staying in this career. This is where I set out to be when I was in college and I don’t feel the need to change paths any time soon.
What did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be an astronaut more than anything else, but I remember also wanting to be a firefighter or a vet.
Any posters on your bedroom walls growing up? I had a handful of wrestling posters that my mom was never a fan of. It was never her business since it’s my room, but she always made it the case.
Do you remember the first time you drank a beer? It may have been at Marielle’s debut, five Julys ago. She served beer at the afterparty of her 18th birthday party, and I think I had taken my first sip then.
Did you ever try cigarettes? Yeah, I started this year actually. I’m about to reach my first anniversary of trying my first cigarette :/ I don’t have a lot of them though and I haven’t smoked since like February or March, I think.
How did you spend your summers growing up? At home. My parents were always busy with work, so I had no choice but to myself occupied at home. Luckily I had siblings and cousins, so we were always playing with each other. My summers were never productive until I was in college, when I started making the effort to go out more.
If you could change anything from your teenage years, would you? Ahh idk man I wish I wouldn’t have spent as much time by the computer as I did, and maybe hang out with friends or something instead. < Yeah this hits the bullseye pretty much. I was a very introverted teenager. Not to mention the internet and social media started to blow up during my tween/early teenage years, so I was hooked to my laptop and kept people away as a result. I didn’t start feeling like a teenager until I was 16, when I gained friends and got invited to more stuff.
Do you remember your first time? Yeah, it was during one of my 18th birthday celebrations and she was around.
Ever look back and wish some things were still the same? I do it a lot these days. I do try to stop, because I don’t know what I can gain out of doing so anymore, and because there’s always the danger of being left behind from looking back too much; but most days I can’t help it.
After high school - straight to college or straight to work? University, because you kinda need that credential where I live. It’s unfair, but it’s our reality.
How much did you make per hour at your first job? We don’t really calculate that here...I’ll try to do math for y’all lmao aka Google it, which says I make $2.34 an hour. Wow when you put it that way, it really does not sound high :/ I’m honestly okay with my pay though. I live with my parents so I contribute to the bills and stuff now, but even then there’s more than enough left for me. Favorite home-cooked meal growing up? My grandma’s kare-kare. It was/is always reserved for special occasions; and out of all her grandchildren I was also the one who got attached to the dish especially as I got older, so eventually kare-kare also became the family’s ‘Robyn is coming over so we better prepare this’ dish. I think I’m her only grandchild that she has an allotted dish for, so that makes me feel special :)
Favorite place to eat out growing up? The local Burger King, back when it had a play place for kids.
Did your parents live in a different country before you were born?: No, they have always lived in the Philippines. My mom has always wanted to migrate but my dad shoots it down every time.
Do you have a preferred coffee brand?: When it comes to coffee, no. I wanna try out everything. But when it comes to coffee shop ambience, Starbucks all the way.
Have you ever dated someone who was terrible with money?: No. I remember Gab as always being very cautious, responsible, and conscious about money. Her parents sustained her debit card and I’m pretty sure they always gave her a little bit extra, but she never took more than her weekly allowance from the ATM.
If so, how did it affect the relationship?: Money was never an issue, mostly because the money we received during the course of our relationship wasn’t even ours lol; we both received set allowances from our parents. If one of us was running out of cash, we never hesitated to cover for each other first, and we never pressured one another to pay back immediately.
How often do you paint your nails?: Never.
Do you know anyone who's related to a current or former world leader?: Yeah, I went to high school with a relative of Duterte. She’s super secretive about it, which is pretty understandable. I’m friends with/went to classes with people who are grandchildren of senators and other politicians as well.
Do you do your own taxes, or do you hire a professional?: ...I have no idea how to do that...I always just assumed it’s already taken care of when a part of my salary is deducted lol. I may have to ask my parents about this, whoops.
What is something you don't have any natural talent for?: Anything to do with music. Reading it, playing it, singing, writing songs, etc. Also art and anything to do with creativity.
Did you watch this year's Eurovision?: Ah, my favorite time of the year to mute all my overseas mutuals on Twitter at one point lmao. No, I never caugtht up with it.
Have there been any periods in your life that could be described as being chaotic?: Senior year was a big chaotic war zone. The death of my grandpa and my first breakup coincided with all the crucial college entrance exams. Speaking of college, it was also a period of a lot of heavy decision-making due to me having to make choices of what course I wanted to take in every school I applied to. I barely cried during those few months and it still shocks me to this day how I did it. That was the most I’ve been on autopilot.
What is something you frequently forget?: Where I place my car keys and/or glasses last.
If I looked in your fridge right now, what would I find?: Bread, eggs, a bunch of condiments, butter cheese, vegetables, leftovers, and the grazing box I received from my workplace yesterday. I’m sure there’s more, but I haven’t really stopped and stared at our fridge for a while now.
How do you feel about your body?: I used to feel fairly confident about it; like it was never an issue with me. But truthfully, after being dumped, I’ve started to feel insecure over everything about me.
Who is someone you would like to get to know better?: My teammates at work, Bea and Ysa. They both seem like cool and funny people both in and out of work, and I’d love to get to hang out with them.
If you had to move to a new city, where would you move?: Idk, just somewhere with a lot of opportunities to try new things and meet new people.
Have you ever traveled on a double-decker train?: Nope. I’ve never been on anything double-decker, if I remember correctly.
What's your opinion on assisted suicide?: [trigger warning] I’ve looked into it, but it’s a dead end where I live. That’s all I’ll say, as I don’t want to give others ideas.
At what point do you consider a relationship to be 'long-term?': Fuck if I know anymore. We reached six years and it was a point where I was comfortable and didn’t feel the need to doubt anymore; everything turned out to be a lie in the end. I don’t know anymore. I don’t think about these things anymore.
What jobs did your parents have when you were growing up?: My dad has always been a chef, so he went through all the ranks throughout my childhood until he finally got an executive position when I was in high school. I remember my mom being a receptionist.
Do they still have these jobs? Or different jobs? Or have they retired?: My dad is still in that career path but he doesn’t cook in the kitchen anymore, or at least as much as he used to. He does all the menu planning, evaluating, etc. My mom has shifted to becoming an executive secretary, but she’s still in the hotel industry.
Do you own any winter sports equipment?: I don’t. There’s no reason for me to have any.
Do you have a cell contract plan, or are you on a pre-paid plan?: Prepaid.
Would your parents be okay with you dating someone of another race? I can definitely see my mom reacting, but I know she knows I won’t let her get away with saying anything mildly offensive. My dad would just go on with his life and will care more about the fact that I’m seeing someone, lol.
Do you like when friends stop by unexpectedly? No. Schedule it ahead and let me know. I’m not always mentally okay and them showing up as a surprise might just make me more stressed than grateful.
Where are the following people and what are they doing: mom, dad, sibling(s), best friend, significant other, ex, and last person you kissed? My entire family is under the same roof in their bedrooms, either sleeping or having just woken up. Angela is in Parañaque, probably at a cousin’s place; no significant other; I have no idea where my ex, and also the last person I kissed, is. She doesn’t really have anything to do with me anymore.
How strong are your feelings for the last person you kissed? They’re there. I’d still take a bullet for them if it comes down to it, the usual shit. Let’s move on.
What was the last thing someone else bought for you? My workplace gave me a grazing box as the company Christmas gift.
If your parents looked in your purse/book bag would they find anything you don’t want them to see? What about your bedroom? Do you have anything hidden in there? My vape pens. I came home from Starbucks last weekend and my mom thought my breath smelled like cigarettes and she almost got super pissed until I was able to convince her the only thing I put in my mouth was coffee, so I know my 22 year old, employed, self-earning ass would for sure still get in trouble if I was discovered to be vaping.
How close are you to the last person you hung out with? Can you be your complete self around them? It was the first time I met them and they are also my bosses, so I can’t exactly be my complete self around them yet. I had to act super reserved and to essentially make a good impression first before I start whipping out my jokes or whatever.
If you decided to call your ex right now, do you think he/she would answer? How would the conversation go? No, she’d reject it and tell me to text instead. If she was feeling snappy she would also tell me I’m no longer in the place to contact her that way. Sigh. Who is she anymore and why is she so different from the person I was with?
Are you attracted to the last person you exchanged numbers with? No.
Is music a daily part of your life? It’s not. Videos, more like.
Yellow nail polish: yes or no? Bright or neon yellow is a no, but I suppose more muted shades like mustard yellow can work for me.
What do you think of country music? Eh, not a fan. I would skip it in a second, and I never think about it.
Have you ever ended a relationship but wish you could’ve kept it a little longer? I’ve never ended a relationship.
Did you go to your high school’s graduation? Yes...that’s not an event I would’ve wanted to miss out on lol. That was a nice day. My grandparents came to watch me, and we had dinner at a revolving restaurant after.
If you could live the last three months over again, is there anything you’d change? Everything went to shit exactly three months ago, so this hits home very hard for me. Yes, I would change a lot of things for life not to have gone the way it has.
Who was the last person to message you on Facebook? What would you do if that person told you they have feelings for you? My mom. I would be creeped out and tell my dad immediately.
How did you feel when you woke up today? Melancholic.
Who was the first person you talked to today? What did you talk about? I haven’t talked to anyone yet today. I was thinking of replying to Aliyah’s comment on my Facebook post, but in the end I didn’t think a response was necessary.
When you apply your make-up, do you do it in a specific order? I don’t wear makeup.
Did you do anything sexual last night? No.
Do you think the last person you Facebook messaged is a virgin? She has three children, me included.
Did any of your friends lose their virginity before they were 16? If so, did you feel pressured to do the same? I don’t think my friends did, but I probably know other people who did. My baby asexual ass definitely didn’t feel the pressure. I was even scared shitless for my first kiss when it came time for it and I had kept putting it off that night.
Has someone of the opposite sex made you smile today? No.
Does it matter to you if your significant other smokes? With my previous relationship, it did in the beginning; eventually I just stopped caring.
Who was the last person you had a deep conversation with? I think it may have been Andrew.
Do you like where you are in life right now? No. I don’t know if a new year would make it better, or if it would help give me a healthier mindset. I just have to wait and see.
Do you hate it when there is a fly around you? Very much.
Is your mom overbearing? She can be.
Is there snow where you live? Never.

Chapter 1: The Meeting
Chpt 2
Word count: 3.2k
You knew what you were and you knew the chance you took coming to this university. People like you remained low and separate from others preferring to stay away from cliques that could never really pinpoint what or who you are. But you were tired of running tired of being a nomad with no claim to any space as your own and sure you could turn back to your parents and live life back in your small town with them and your little brother but what good would it do? They weren’t like you either. So after leaving home at 17 what else were you supposed to do now that you were 20 and truly unestablished. You did what everyone else did that was your age, went to college. For the past two years you had taken online courses at a university so you could roam from place to place exploring the states all the way from the west coast to the east but you missed companionship. After all that was a vital part of human nature to crave the company of other humans no matter the smaller percentage of that which was in you. It was however much greater than those of the other wereanimals.
So here you were moving into your apartment a week before the fall term was about to start with two werewolves as roommates and oddly a human with a strong were scent. She was marked, you figured that was the only way the other two females would have willingly chose her as a roommate. From what you knew werewolves didn’t associate themselves with non-wolves. This you had learned from your parents as they warned you that of all the were animals; “dogs” as they called them had the highest ego, traveled in the largest packs and thought that they were the superior of the were communities. Heck, there were even fully exclusive werewolf universities but none for your kind but yet here they were.
“Hi, my name is Andrea”, one of the girls extended her hand to you acknowledging your presence and company as a housemate.
She was cute, a description you’d normally never associate with a were but you could tell she was fierce as her hazel eyes lit like fire as you extended your hand to her in return. She was taking in your scent no doubt as you had done the same but like most reactions you’d receive her nose scrunched and she viewed you through slanted eyes with uncertainty. It made the hairs on your neck stand as your instincts immediately wanted you to become defensive. The other were girl took note of the exchange and rushed to Andrea’s side eyeing you warily.
A tiny sniff battle ensued as both girls slightly lifted their noses to the air and looked between each other as if gauging your scent. You knew what they wanted to ask but they dare didn’t because throughout all were animals you never asked what kind of were a person was. It was simply bad manners and left an ill taste in everyone’s mouth. That was the one mutual rule that all communities shared; unless said were voluntarily divulged their breed you’d ought to never ask. Of course most thought this rule didn’t apply to werewolves because they were proud to be wolves, travelling in packs, the stereotypical brute build and biker gang mentality wasn’t exactly overfitting when it came to their kind. And if you couldn’t judge from their aura they had no problem telling you just what they were.
“Ugh I absolutely hate when you guys do that!”, the blonde girl exasperated.
She was short and bubbly typical girl next door look, definitely not the type to be mixed with werewolves. She literally couldn’t be taller than 5’2 and the baby pink skirt she wore with her white and yellow striped crop top practically screamed “Eat Me I’m Cute and Cuddly!” You couldn’t help but wonder why or even how she….
“Seriously why don’t you two just piss on the floor and mark your territory” She huffed interrupting your thoughts. “I mean seriously you knew this school would have other were animals, why are you being so weird?”
“Alicia if you weren’t dating my brother I’d seriously bite you right now”, the other girl barked. She was about your height maybe a little taller. With dark brown hair that almost mirrored black and skin so bronze you’d think she was made of copper. Her eyes were most alarming they were gold like literal molten gold.
“Don’t worry Natty, I can take it. Your brother bites me all the time”, she lowered her voice giving the girl a seductive wink.
Natty you now knew her to be scoffed in disgust and faked a choking sound as she went back to your shared living room dragging her bags of clothes off to what you assumed would be her room. Returning your eyes to Andrea you noticed she was still looking at you skeptically. No doubt ruling out which animal you couldn’t be. “Your scent is different”, she said dropping her stance and bouncing into the kitchen.
You were taken aback this was going to be harder than you thought. At least for the moment they weren’t being aggressive but you could tell you guys wouldn’t be besties anytime soon.
Because you were the last to arrive you were subjected to the smallest room but luckily for you it had a better layout as your room was the only one with a walk-in closet in its bathroom. Loosing yourself into unpacking your stuff and trying to make the space feel as comfortable as possible you decided painting these drab off-white walls were a must. You quickly decided to take the day tomorrow to go to the nearest hardware store you could find and add anything to the walls to make it more lively.
“Hi new roomie!”, Alicia popped in making herself comfortable right on your freshly made bed. “We are going to get some food and hangout at a couple of the pack members house, you down?”
“Liss! You can’t just be inviting people to hang around the pack that aren’t pack this isn’t how it works!” you heard a booming voice from across the hall yell. To which you quickly put together as Natty from her tone earlier.
“Ignore her. It’s just some pizza and beers”, the blonde girls said rolling her eyes and facing you again.
You were about the politely decline before another head popped in your doorway and said “yah join us it’s pretty casual and I doubt you really know anyone here yet”.
Again you were about to decline but your stomach answered for you. A growl ripped from your belly that would have made you embarrassed had it not been for the cheerful claps from Alicia and her beauty pageant grin “I will take that as a yes!”
The two girls scurried from your room with Andrea turning back to take in your appearance. You weren’t dressed to impress per se but you didn’t exactly look homeless. What was expected, after all you knew you’d just be moving boxes all day and organizing your new space. So for that occasion your purposefully bleached high school football team shirt and your rather worn yoga pants sufficed, but not for this occasion apparently.
“err you might want to change”, she said grinning sheepishly at you giving off an obvious shrug that stated ‘first impressions’.
After changing all three girls were waiting for you in the living room seemingly dressed as if they were going to a club. ‘Casual my ass’, you thought to yourself. Each one of them had on some form of a mini skirt and tight shirts. You looked down at your apparel. You didn’t’ own club clothes it just wasn’t a part of your wardrobe. The skinny ripped jeans you wore exposed a great deal of your thighs but it still wasn’t drastic and your long sleeve off the shoulder striped mustard yellow and black top didn’t meet the obvious dress code.
“Should I change again?” you asked incredulously. Honestly you would have just rather stayed in and ordered takeout alone. But however this was the whole point of coming to college to interact with other people.
“Umm it’ll do”, Andrea got up circling you. “Nice ass”, she said grabbing her keys and heading for the door.
“Let your hair down”, Alicia commanded as she walked towards you with a tube of red blush tone nude lipstick.
You did as she said letting your honey curls fall from its messy bun and drape around your shoulders. She applied a light coat of lipstick and ran her fingers through your hair fluffing out the flat part that your scrunchy had caused. That’s when you could smell it. The scent, his scent whoever he was the were had a strong presence and it was all over her. She was marked alright her own smell was almost indistinguishable mixed with his. Most human don’t have strong odor usually they’d smell like whatever they had been around that day. You could tell she liked lavender and you could also tell she hadn’t been lying about the bites. Whoever the werewolf was he had claimed her and bitten her in and out of his wolf form.
“You’re really pretty”, she admired giving you the once over again. A car horn signaled that your little encounter was taking too long.
The drive to the pizza place was rather short and the time it took was spent listening to Natty and Alicia banter between each other. You didn’t know much about either of them but you could tell they were fond of each other and that this relationship wasn’t a newly established one either.
The pizza plaza had a cool vibe and when you guys walked in you could immediately smell the scent of many werewolves, a few werefoxes, a couple of werelynx, and what seemed to be the pungent smell of a werepanther. For some reason you could never find yourself to adjust to their unique odor. But Surely enough just as you could smell them they could smell you. A couple of wolves in the corner all turned their heads to your direction. The cool thing about your nature was you had the ability to tone down your scent and even take on the scent of whatever were was around you if there were multiple ones. Unfortunately, also for you in order to do this you had to calm your nerves and walking into a room of unknowns wasn’t exactly helping and considering it was only days away from a full moon everyone’s scent was magnified so there wasn’t much you could do to mask your own just yet.
Wedging yourself behind the two wolves you tried to block your body and keep your head down as they walked further into the plaza reaching some stairs. The smell of wolves was getting stronger and you could now see this was a pack exclusive room and you were not welcome. Vibrations were running through your body and a slow hum was starting that sensed danger but yet no reaction was coming from the three women ahead of you so you still followed suit.
Entering the room, you saw about fifteen different wolves in the room a mix a male and female though mostly male.  Two pool tables in the center occupied two guys each, both of the brute and rather tall stature.
“Baby!”, Alicia squealed running and jumping into the arms of a guy that scarily resembled Natty. He was rather on the skinny side with long legs and thick lips that made his smirk tilt into a smile as he caught her and immediately enveloped her into a hug and kiss.
A guy much broader but about the same height greeted the new guest but quickly caught your scent and turned his eyes to you. You swore you thought you saw them change color slightly going from brown orbs to a highlighted silver as his shoulders squared towards you. His face remained calm but you could feel his power his instincts immediately alerting him that you were not something he was familiar with.
“Who’s she?” he addressed the other three not taking his eyes off of you. His nostrils flared as he was still detecting and processing you. Much to your dismay you could notice the others doing the same. What you really noticed was that the tone of his question was not asking for your name but what you were.
A slight silence persisted as your eyes never left his stance, you knew better than to make steady eye contact with him but yet your heart rate began to slow so you knew he could sense it and was less alarmed. You had to calm yourself because your nature could be equally as aggressive as werewolves but in this room that would not be a good move for you. You tilted your head finally meeting his gaze again but this time holding it. His eyebrow quirked up a smirk pulling at his lips. Ordinarily from another werewolf this would be a challenge to the alpha but your aura gave him no intonation that that was your intention. Of course it wasn’t it wasn’t in your kind’s nature to challenge another alpha for dominance. One because it wasn’t a desire to be a pack master or leader over anyone. You tried your best to make this aware to him and everyone in the room changing your aura into that of a subordinate human.
“Jinyoung. This is our new roommate”, Alicia spoke up but quickly all four of you looked from each other realizing you never properly introduced yourself.
“Y/N”, was all you said smiling sweetly at him meeting his gaze again. At this point everyone in the room was looking at the two of you. Of course you knew they could smell you and at the moment your instincts hadn’t quite subdued the danger feeling so you were not even attempting to merge your scent with one of theirs as camouflage as it would just alarm them more.
Another couple of seconds went by and finally he smiled back at you relaxing and leaning against the pool table a cue in hand “well welcome y/n”, he said.
The tension in the air visibly relaxed and the activities presumed as before you entered. Usually you would have no problem wandering around on your own. That was the nature of your kind what you felt most comfortable doing but right now you wanted to do anything but. You were thankful for Alicia beckoning you over to her and the guy practically entangled around her body. Even for you this seemed peculiar. Usually wereanimals weren’t that infatuated with humans.
“This is my boyfriend BamBam, he is also Natty’s brother which I’m sure you’ve figured out by now” She was gleaming as she looked up to her boyfriend but his eyes were trained on you. He seemed friendly enough and you could tell he had power though obviously not like Jinyoung and not even as much as natty, but he was still a strong wolf.
He finally nodded towards you cracking a smile, canines on full display “Well Liss, you always find interesting company don’t you?”, he said nuzzling her nose causing a schoolgirl giggle to escape her throat.
The rest of the night went by pretty smoothly Liss as you now realized everyone called Alicia and Andrea who had begun warming up to you slowing took you around the room introducing you to everyone. For the most part they seemed welcoming though cautious of you, which you couldn’t blame them. You ate pizza and laughed with some random guy and girl but made sure to limit yourself to two beers for the sake of controlling your ability to mask your scent which at times was all but present. Still though you could feel eyes on your back the whole time and you had to put an effort into keeping hair from standing up in alarm. Jinyoung was watching you just observing you along with another guy with almost an equally aggressive power as Jinyoung. He caught your attention you couldn’t help but to stare back at him as he looked to you. His loose brown hair was neatly styled and his muscles were apparent beneath his black shirt and black pants he was shorter than the other two mean but that did not hinder his strong aura at all. Frankly you also thought him beautiful though a bit intimidating as you took in his scent not once did his eyes leave yours.
Finally, he caught your gaze his eyes burning into your own and his face set in hard line making you both feel at ease. That much was apparent you could tell he was holding back his power and for some odd reason you could tell he knew you were doing the same.
“You shouldn’t be here”, you heard a voice whisper in your ear. His breath tickled your ear and you turned to meet his smirk. He was halfway joking with you finding your confused face amusing. He handed you a red cup which contained water much to your gratitude. You took a sip cheeks feeling flushed.
“You’re making the pack leaders uneasy”, he grinned even harder. Was he flirting with you? You decided to play along finding the tall handsome guy very attractive and you couldn’t deny his scent was appealing to you.
“What makes you think that?” you batted your eyelashes taking another sip of water and grinning just as widely as him.
“Umm” he mused pretending to think “must be because you’re so attractive”, he said circling you admiring you from all angles and adding “plus you’re… Different.”
“Am I?”, you said flipping your hair. This of course wafted your smell closer to him and you saw his adams apple move down his throat as he swallowed. He was definitely affected by you as much as you were affected by him.
“That you are” he said moving his body closer to you almost touching you. For some reason you couldn’t figure out why your body felt like it was on fire. Was it him or the approaching full moon whatever the reason that and the beer was making your scent even stronger.
“I’m Jungkook by the way” he said finally closing the distance and putting his hand on the small of your back on the exposed skin. He felt the shock, causing his pupils to dilate and you realized what was happening. He was coming to his heat and for some reason you were magnifying it.
You heard a cough from beside you and immediately Jungkook dropped his hands from you and took a step back. “We need to get going”, Jinnyoung said commanding the wolf to follow. The other guys followed and slowly everyone started to disperse from the scene as the night had now approached 2 am. You couldn’t help but notice the guy from earlier staring at you again but this time when your eyes met his he looked away and followed his pack master and Jungkook out of the room.
Alicia noticed the little exchange and scoffed at his behavior “That was weird, he’s never done that before”.
You looked down at her and lowered your voice “Who is he? Why does he feel so strong?”.
Andrea was now at your side staring at the space he had disappeared from “That’s Jackson, and he is strong, very powerful. He was almost our pack master”.

This Serious Disorder Is an Invitation for Love, Not Rejection. False Myths About FIV Keep Cats Trapped in Shelters By Dr. Becker One of the more serious disorders kitties acquire is the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). Just the name alone is unnerving for many cat parents because they immediately associate it with HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and AIDS in humans. FIV does belong to the same class of viruses as HIV, which is the precursor of AIDS, but there's no reason to be alarmed. Humans can't get FIV and cats can't get HIV. FIV is also in the same retrovirus family as the feline leukemia virus (FeLV), but there are several differences between the two. FIV is what is known as a "slow virus" (lentivirus) that multiplies slowly and has a long incubation period before causing symptoms. Immunodeficiency means the body is unable to mount a normal immune response. The good news is that while FIV is a significant disease that requires careful management, it's far from a death sentence for kitties. Studies over the last decade have shown that FIV-positive cats often live as long as cats without the virus, and many never even show signs of illness. Risk of Cat-to-Cat FIV Transmission Is Actually Quite Low According to the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine's Feline Health Center, in the U.S., approximately 1.5 to 3 percent of otherwise healthy cats are infected with FIV. In sick kitties or those at increased risk of infection, the rate is significantly higher at 15 percent or more. The disease is most often seen in free-roaming, aggressive male cats. This is because the virus, which is present in saliva and blood, is transmitted primarily through bites. It can't be spread to people, dogs or other non-feline pets, and indoor-only kitties are much less likely to be infected. The average age at diagnosis is 5 years, and the risk of infection increases with age. There is no genetic predisposition for the condition, although genetics may play a role in disease progression and severity. An infected cat can transmit the virus to another kitty, but it's a rare occurrence. Transmission requires a deep bite by an infected cat to an uninfected cat. Casual contact doesn't appear to spread the virus, which is why friendly kitties in stable multi-cat households are at little risk of acquiring FIV. FIV survives for only a brief time outside a cat's body, and it can't be transmitted indirectly on food, food bowls, toys, bedding or human clothes, shoes or hands (this is not the case with feline leukemia, however). Rarely, an infected mother cat can transmit the virus to her kittens either during passage through the birth canal or while nursing. Sexual contact is not considered a major means of transmission. Sadly, Myths About FIV Mean Fewer Cat Adoptions Some of the pets least likely to be adopted at animal shelters across the U.S. are kitties with FIV. Prospective pet owners are hesitant to adopt an FIV-positive cat, but shelter experts are working to change attitudes through increased awareness. The shelter community wants pet parents to know that while adopted stray cats may carry the virus, it's not something to be overly concerned about. "Due to the fact people just don't understand it, they're apprehensive," says Kathleen Hacker of Shelter Angels Inc. in Bay County, Michigan. "Two years ago with this diagnosis," says Hacker, "people would automatically put the cats down. More and more we're hearing people saying, 'Oh, I have an FIV cat.'" Some of the myths about FIV-positive cats that shelters are working to debunk include: • "Cats with FIV should be euthanized because they're unadoptable or too risky to place." Fact: FIV positive kitties are no less adoptable than uninfected cats, live long healthy lives in stable environments, and without infecting other family pets. • "Infected cats can spread FIV by casual contact with other cats, including mutual grooming." Fact: FIV is only transmitted through deep bite wounds that draw blood. • "FIV positive kitties become ill and die at an early age." Fact: FIV cats don't have a higher incidence of disease than uninfected kitties, and don't die sooner. CatChat.org, a cat rescue resource, believes FIV in stray cats has fed much of the unfounded fear of kitties with the virus. The primary carriers in the stray population are intact male cats who fight over "food, females or territory." According to CatChat: "The stray cat has no-one to look after them, and their lifestyle means they are more likely to pick up other infections, which without treatment can escalate. When one of these gets captured and taken to a vet, suffering from any number of secondary infections, it is often too late. It is the nature of a vet's work, that they will see many more ill cats than healthy ones, when in fact, there are very many more healthy FIV cats than ill ones — they just don't need to see the vet. Indeed, many pet cats will already be FIV positive, but their owners are unaware of it due to the cat being perfectly healthy!" FIV Symptoms An FIV-positive cat can appear entirely healthy for years or even a lifetime. But in some cats the disease creates a state of immune deficiency that can leave them susceptible to other infections. This means that everyday bacteria, viruses and fungi that cause no problems for healthy animals can cause serious illness in cats with compromised immune systems. Secondary infections are responsible for many of the diseases linked to FIV. Early in an FIV infection, lymph nodes throughout the body are affected, resulting in temporary enlargement of the nodes, and often, a fever. This stage of infection often passes unnoticed unless the lymph nodes grow noticeably large. The course of FIV can cause a progressive deterioration of health, or recurrent bouts of illness interspersed with periods of relatively normal health. Symptoms of immunodeficiency can occur anywhere in a cat's body and include: ✓ Recurrent minor illnesses, often involving the upper respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract ✓ Persistent bacterial or fungal infections of the ears and skin ✓ Chronic eye problems, glaucoma ✓ Poor coat condition ✓ Chronic kidney insufficiency ✓ Persistent diarrhea is seen in 10 to 20 percent of cases Another group of FIV symptoms affects the nervous system, and can include disruption of normal sleep patterns, behavioral changes such as pacing and aggression, changes in vision and hearing and disorders affecting the nerves in the legs and paws. Caring for an FIV-Positive Cat There is no specific treatment for the virus itself, however, any existing secondary infections will need to be treated. FIV-positive cats should be kept indoors, which will prevent the spread of the virus to other cats, while also reducing the risk that your kitty will be exposed to pathogens her immune system may not be able to handle. FIV-positive cats should not breed. Cats with the virus should be fed a balanced, nutritionally complete species-appropriate diet. A raw, unpasteurized diet is fine unless your kitty has a low white blood cell count, in which case I recommend cooked fresh food or sterile raw food (about half of all commercially available raw foods have by sterilized through high pressure pasteurization). Cats with FIV should see the veterinarian at least twice yearly to review the health of their eyes, gums, skin and lymph nodes, and to check their weight. At one of these visits each year, bloodwork and a urinalysis should be performed. Any abnormal values should be rechecked as your vet suggests. Careful, consistent monitoring of your FIV-positive kitty's health and behavior is extremely important so that you can notify your vet right away of any changes. I've had success keeping my FIV-positive patients very healthy using a variety of natural supplements to support the immune system, including medicinal mushrooms, Standard Process Feline Immune System Support and Whole Body Support, turmeric, Kyosenex Prime, Chinese herbs and FIV homeopathic nosodes. Ozone therapy can also be very beneficial for FIV cats who become symptomatic.

Are you weak as fuck? Let me tell you why, young blood
*climbs through your window at 2 am with a giant bag of hot cheetos, three chimichangas, and some chocolate milk*
i forgot i actually have this really cool story about the word “weak” and the advent of its place as part of our current repertoire of slang
i was there in the room when the word was born. literally.
...i mean, that it actually did happen in a room over the course of a few weeks (not it literally being born...like a human being or anything...)
it was the punchline to this inside joke between two dudes (12 years old at the time, since this took place when they and i were both in 7th grade. so 2007 to be exact) named Stanley Speed and Steven Harter.
i’m pretty sure i can use their names since the way the joke and all their jokes or stories were told was with an amount of attention-whoring, especially on Stanley’s end.
so anyway, we were all in this class together called Teen Living, which is like a Virginia Beach version of home economics. sort of. it lasted two semesters, in which the first we spent time completing rotation in these virtual learning-modules. stuff about elementary environmental biology and science. it’s where i learned about acid rain, i think. i still have no idea why it was the other half of a class that’s, in theory, about learning how to be an adult. how to “adult” as a verb -- cooking, cleaning sowing. but that’s what were doing apparently.
i had this class i think as the last period, so we would all come in with a lot of anticipation. tired, but also super ready to climb up to the ceiling and through the vents to get the fuck out of this class and to the buses if we had to.
we’d sit at our stations with our partners, drudge through these virtual lessons and videos from out of the late 80′s for about an hour and a half, and then we’d have to stop about ten minutes or so before class actually let out -- time we spent waiting at these little circular gray linoleum tables, sometimes in silence....but MOST of the time, listening to Stanley and Stephen talk.
it was kind of weird, because they were actually talking just to themselves. like it was very much an A and B conversation -- but it ended up also very much being like a little show. a palate-cleansing spectacle.
their conversations, in this small but open space were hard not to listen to, spatially, but also because they were very entertaining.
it was kind of acknowledged that we were eavesdropping, but they didn’t care -- it turned into a sort of performance, and when they told a joke, the whole class (which was about 18 people or so?) laughed. sometimes we actually interjected, with an opinion or correcting comment, or exclamation (”Oh, yeah! I so that happen, too!” or “Woah! You were there on Saturday?”).
But mostly we just listened -- eavesdropped -- like a live-studio audience to a late night talk show.
Stanley was the host and Steven was his straight-man/sidekick. Stanley was animated and excitable, where Steven was quieter, given more to responding to Stanley than offering much of his own to the conversation. Laughing with Stanley.
I remember him the most for how red his face would get. I eventually would associate his face with the classic poetic image of “rosy cheeks”. He’d laugh so hard he couldn’t breathe sometimes.
Anyway -- so one day, towards the end of that semester, before we would officially switch with the other class going through the home/kitchen portion (sewing and cooking) before us, we were all sat down out our tables. tired. ready to go home. waiting for 4:24pm to hit the building. and Stanley/Steven start telling this story about a mutual friend of theirs.
Someone who apparently was kind of “dopey”, since they were pretty much roasting the kid. They were telling this story, or relating something that had just happened, some funny exchange where the punchline was “I was generally weak”. Something that kid said which was silly but which stuck with Stanley for that very reason. I can’t remember the exact context or story itself, but the word as we know it, or the phrase it originally started as, had nothing to really do at first with explicit funniness. It something someone said offhand, something that kid said when he actually meant to say something else entirely.
So, when Stanley first told the story, both he and Steven were cracking up over it. Like, really dying. I don’t think all of us were as taken with it immediately. But then, when we came back after the weekend (since he told that story on a Friday) he brought it up again. And again. And we were all laughing. It grew from a two-person inside joke, to a meme before actual memes and gifs as we now know them. It was like headlining news script in constant circulation, a collective event that kept coming back to the fore, happening over and over again. Some days later he told Steven about how he told some more friends in gym about it.
(To be honest, he brought it up so often that it got annoying to the rest of us in class. He’d bring it up and we’d turn our heads away, retracting from the conversation party we weren’t really invited to in the first place.
....It was weird, because the closer we got to switching to the other portion of class, the less funny his jokes were.)
Anyway. because of how funny it was (not so much to us, the initial audience anymore) and the convenience of just saying “generally weak” or “weak” to bring it back up..........within like two weeks or so, it spread from his circle of friends to the whole school. I’d walk down the hall and hear people saying it. Kind of confused, because again even though I immediately knew where it came from, it was being used out of context to the original joke.
It was being used as reference but without actual reference to its source, if that makes any sense.
And then it spread further. EVERYBODY started saying it. It became the most used word of that year, from what I remember. And.....very annoying (At the time).
Annnnnnnnnnnd that’s the story of how I saw a word come into popular usage before my very eyes.
Here;s a little bit of trivia:
1.) there was another thing Stanley actively tried to have catch on, after seeing how well and fast “weak” became what it was.... literally just “22′s” said very emphatically. kind of like an ad-lib. another inside joke sort of thing, but it died pretty fast in the class. it got tired quick.
2.) also, Pharrell is Stanley’s first or second cousin. They kind of look alike. So I believe it.
....aight. anyway. Gotta go. Love ya. Goodnight!

*deliberately left all that trash on your floor from my snacks for you to deal with*
