making the effort to find where their partner is and dragging them by the hand rather than just calling them over to where they wanted them in the first place. (jae/chan yeol)
@cass1x1
Yeol lets out a breath when he turns and realizes Jae is nowhere to be seen. Neither of them had expected the sudden crowds of people to enter. It seems like the luck of the draw to have arrived during one of the busier moments, but it's certainly an inconvenience.
Turning in place, he glances over the people in search of his bodyguard. At least being tall has its perks. After a moment of searching, he spots him. Jae doesn't seem to care that they're separated though. He probably expects them to simply meet back at the entrance once they've collected what they needed.
He considers doing just that. It's like he's said before, he doesn't actually need Jae around. He takes a step forward with that in mind only to pause once more. Sighs at the argument in his head head. Leave. Wait. Leave. Wait. Leave. Wait--
His feet move before he changes his mind. Pushing back through the crowd, he shifts around the idling bodies, saying excuse me when it's deemed appropriate until he's back besides them. Jae's brows lift in silent question, but Yeol chooses not to say anything. He tries not to give Jae much of a chance to say anything either before grabbing the man's hand and tugging him forward back into the crowd. It's harder to navigate through with someone in tow, but he doesn't loosen the hold on Jae's hand. His hand hangs loosely in Yeol's for a few feet and then he feels the squeeze of fingers against his hand. His steps falter, and he's glad he's facing forward and away from Jae.
It doesn't mean anything. Prepares an answer in his head to the question Jae's bound to ask (the accusation that's going to be thrown). He didn't want to wait. The crowd's only getting worse. The presumption that he wants to hold the other's hand is off the table. It's the last explanation he wants to hear, but he knows it's coming.
He tries to drop Jae's hand the moment they've made it out from the crowd. There isn't any real surprise when their hands are still connected. Still, Yeol lets out a stream of air and prepares for whatever Jae has to say once he stops to turn towards him.

[ GUIDE ] for jae/yeol
@kimsgoeun
[ GUIDE ] : in order to guide the receiver, sender presses a hand against the small of their back.
To say Jae was seeing read was a deep understatement. He generally tried to see himself as someone who didn't resort to physical violence when it wasn't necessary, but in that moment, it seemed like his only option was to rip another man's throat out of his body. That way, he couldn't say such awful things anymore. Jae's fingers curled up, his hand balling into a fist, but before he had a chance to put that fist into the asshole's face, probably breaking his stupid glasses in the process, he felt something behind him.
It took him a moment, in his absolute rage, to register Yeol's presence. Funny, it was the first time he'd been able to go a moment without thinking about how pissed he was at Yeol's for his part in this goddamn farce, and all because he'd found someone worse. But there he was, his hand strangely cool on Jae's back. "If you'll excuse us," he said, his face and voice the usual, implacable mask.
He pushed ever so slightly, and Jae found himself moving, possibly against his own will, alongside Yeol. Away from the asshole, and then away from the entire party. It wasn't until they were out of the elevator and back in Yeol's office that Jae seemed to come back to himself. He glanced at Yeol. Everything about him seemed normal, except for his eyes. They had a certain sharpness to them, a glint Jae didn't quite recognize.
Still, without knowing what was going on, Jae's only option was defiance. "What the--"
"I can't have you starting a fist fight at a fundraiser," Yeol said calmly, tugging his tie loose.
The rage bubbled up inside Jae again, though he wasn't so much of an asshole taht he'd take it out on Yeol. Even if Yeol partially deserved it to. "Then maybe don't take money from corrupt asswipes."
Yeol was hunched over, resting his hands on his desk. It was a position that hid his face from view. Not that his face gave JAe much to work with. He was always so fucking perfect, so handsome and serene and detached, like none of this mattered. Maybe Jae should take his anger out on him. "I didn't know," he said, and there was almost an emotion behind his voice. Like that glint from before, it wasn't enough for Jae to recognize. But it was there. "I didn't know, but obviously, now, we'll be cutting ties with his entire company. Probably a few others too, just to be safe."
It absolutely took the wind from Jae's sails. He hadn't expected that in the least. The idea that Yeol might care--that Yeol might do something because it was the right thing to do, and not just because it would make his precious company money--it hadn't occurred to Jae. Not even as the faintest possibility. The hot anger he'd been feeling fizzled, leaving him cold, unsteady. "Oh..." He looked away. He could sense Yeol's eyes on him, but meeting each other on a level wasn't really their thing. So he kept his eyes fixed on the wall. "So why'd you drag me away?"
"I didn't drag you," Yeol said immediately. Then, more softly, "If you had a fight, it'd be an incident. It could make him look like the good guy. If we just pull away, then it looks like we know something. It makes it seem worth looking into." Jae had to admit, it was a solid plan. Expose the asshole for the scum he was, without giving him a moral high ground to stand on. No violence, but that could be forgiven. "Besides, that's a very expensive suit. It will cost a lot to get blood out of it." Jae cracked a smile and turned back, only for Yeol to turn away again. Still, it wasn't enough to hide a little pink in his cheeks. Oh god, he was embarrassed for making a joke that was actually funny. What in god's name was Jae supposed to make of that?

💋 (jae/yeol)
send  “💋”  for four times my muse thought about kissing yours, and the one time they actually did.
1.
Sometimes, Chan Yeol was so irritatingly brown-nosed that it left Jae speechless. How could a person be so spineless? Given how stubbornly he refused to take care of himself, how intensely he focused on working as though he couldn't do anything else, Jae might've expected him to at least nominally stand up for himself.
Instead, he didn't. His parents to him what to do and, although Jae had heard him say outright that he didn't want to do it, whatever protest he was about to mount died on his lips. Jae could see Chan Yeol literally open his mouth, and then shut it and nod his assent instead. Being seen as the perfect, dutiful son was all that mattered.
It would've served him right if Jae had given him a big ol' smack on the lips right there. Just grabbed him and laid one on him, in front of his parents and God and all of the assembled press. Ruined that perfect little image for all of them. Jae doubted it would be welcome, but to be fair, Jae didn't want to kiss him either. It was the principle of the matter, not allowing all of them to stay in their little pantomime.
But that move would've gotten Jae summarily fired, and anyway, Chan Yeol didn't deserve it. So he let it go with a huff and pretending to be talking to security.
Tumblr media
2.
Jae situated himself in his pants, hissing with discomfort as he did. As much as he might've wanted to reciprocate things, he wanted to not hate himself more, and walking away with his own self-control seemed like the only option. So he did what he had to do to make himself passable in public, and then turned to Yeol. The other man was putting himself back together: pants up but undone, shirt on, belt still on the floor.
"Did you--"
"Nope," Jae wasn't even sure exactly what he was about to ask, only that he didn't want to answer. Didn't want to talk. Frankly, he just wanted to go home, but there was no way he was going to do that. Not unless Yeol was done for the day, and fat chance of that. Once he was all put back together, he turned to the other man, and--now what?
If he were one of Jae's usual hookups, there'd be a goodbye kiss and it'd be over. But he wasn't, and if Jae kissed him, then they'd have to stay in the room together while Yeol worked. Worse, he'd think about dragging him back and finishing what he'd started. No, there could be no kiss. "I'mma order coffee. You want any?" Jae said instead, filling the air, desperately hoping his voice sounded normal.
Tumblr media
3.
Their faces were so close, Jae could feel the other man's breath, short and impatient. He could feel the other man's nose brush his, and for a moment, Jae had an utterly absurd thought. It would take barely any movement at all, just the barest tilt, and their lips would be lined up. He knew, too, instinctively--or, perhaps, from experience--that Yeol would kiss back. It wasn't a question at all of could.
It wasn't really a question of should either. He should not. That was plainly obvious. Hate-fucking was certainly an option, but it hadn't exactly served him well these past few weeks, had it? What had he gotten? A few orgasms, sure, and a pile of self-doubt. Not worth it. Or...well, okay. Sometimes, it was. Sometimes, it seemed like it could be something. But right now, certainly, it wasn't. So he should not.
That really left only would. Jae took a breath, watching, noticing how Yeol seemed as hyper-aware as he was. And it was tempting, yeah. He knew he could, and there was power in that. He knew he shouldn't, and there was power in that too.
But there was also weakness, there. Oh, for sure, Jae loved playing the asshole, but he didn't really think he was one. Not deep, deep down. Not in the soft parts of him that made moral calls. So he smirked, and did let himself lean in a hair more, and then stepped away, shaking his head and biting out an unnecessary, "You wish," before stalking toward the door.
Tumblr media
4.
It was 4am, and whatever energy Jae had left had to go to staying awake and ostensibly doing his job, so he couldn't afford to spare any energy on being his usual difficult self.
Yeol, for his part, was also clearly affected. The hours were starting to wear on him, and he looked strangely frail, slumped over his computer, typing furiously. At some point, though, he saw something shift. It perked him up a little, the way a loud noise might wake you when you're asleep. It was hard to explain what precisely it was--and being tired made his memory hazy. It was a slip, or maybe just a shift in weight. Something that showed him that it was time to stop.
"Hey," he called out, shocked by how rough his voice was. "I think...I think you may need to call it here."
Yeol's entire answer was just a sound, somewhere between a "hmm?" and an "mm." It was not, to Jae's surprise, a protest of any sort. Jae took that as a sign. He approached the desk cautiously, like Yeol was a spooked animal, and gently slid the laptop closed. "What..."
Because Yeol didn't finish the question, Jae didn't answer. He put a hand on the other man's and gently tugged him to standing. He walked him to the door. The drive back to Yeol's apartment was silent, other than the general noises of the early-early-early morning commuters and anyone else who might make noise at the ass-crack of dawn. Jae barely registered any of it. He was tired too.
When he got Yeol to his bedroom door, he found himself leaning in before he had time to think about what he was doing. It surprised him, jolting him with energy for the second time. "I'm gonna stay here to stop you from leaving," is what came out of his mouth. "You sleep."
It was absurd, and unnecessarily harsh, but Jae felt he needed to compensate for what he'd almost done there. Yeol squinted at him, but rather than give the other man time to think on what he'd said, Jae just made his way to the couch, tugging off his tie and making work of his button-down so that he could collapse on the couch once he reached it.
Tumblr media
5.
Jae made the decision to kiss Yeol immediately, impulsively, and without consideration for the consequences. He reached up with both hands, cupping the other man's face, and mashed his lips against the other's. It wasn't his most artful or sensual kiss, but then, it wasn't meant to be. He wasn't feeling seductive or enticing or angry or any of the myriad other reasons he might've kissed Yeol. In fact, he was feeling an awful lot, but he couldn't put a name to what the emotion was. Just that he felt so much of it, that all he could do was be in physical contact.
Yeol seemed suitably stunned by the movement, but he didn't exactly try to push Jae off. No, he brought his hands up to hold Jae at the elbows, steady and firm, and kissed back. There was no move to make it anything other than it was; a kiss in the heat of a moment, something like joy.
When Jae pulled back, he was positive that he was grinning like an idiot. That was fine; Yeol thought he was an idiot regardless. Still, he couldn't help himself. He felt light. He felt good. He could only hope Yeol felt the same.
"You sonofabitch," he said. The term caused a slight furrow in Yeol's brow, like he couldn't reconcile Jae's tone of voice with his choice of words. There was no time to explain slang, though. "I can't believe it. Holy shit." He kissed him again, this time on the forehead. "I really didn't think you had it in you."
Yeol ducked his head down. Embarrassment, probably. Or...maybe, pride? Jae didn't like to delude himself, but he harbored some small hope that Yeol could be someone who actually did good things, and it was strange to feel that hope confirmed with action. Maybe it was strange for Yeol too. "Thanks?"
"It's great. Ho-ly shit. It's really, really great. God. Fuck. Why don't you do this all the time?" Jae laughed, and then put his hand up before Yeol could open his mouth. "Don't answer that. I don't want to hear it. I'm getting us celebratory ice cream. Don't fuck it up while I'm gone."

" i'm not angry. anger is a luxury i afford for the people i love and care about. but you... well. i'm just resigned to it, i guess. " (jae/yeol)
"Ouch," Jae answered, words dripping in his usual sarcasm. "You really know how to make a guy feel like shit." He didn't feel like shit. Not exactly. What he felt was something stranger. More uncharacteristic, given their relationship.
About someone else, Jae might call it concern. Worry. Caring. But Jae knew better than to care about Chan yeol. The man was stubborn beyond belief, and unwilling to make the kind of changes that would make him worth caring about. No point wasting time over a lost cause, and all that. Besides, no amount of concern or worry would stop him from bottling up his feelings. He was like a goddamn pressure cooker, just adding and adding and adding, and one day, the whole pot would explode because it was overfilled.
Or something like that. Metaphors and cooking were two areas Jae had little experience in. The point was: only an idiot would feel those feelings about Yeol, and Jae was no idiot.
Well. Okay. Jae was no idiot when it came to his own feelings. He was an idiot in other ways. Like his sense of self-preservation. And maybe that related to feelings. It also definitely explained what he said next: "Must be a luxury you can't afford, then."
The other man looked so shocked that, for a blissful, miserable second, Jae genuinely thought he wasn't going to answer. The second stretched. A heartbeat. A minute. Not all that long, but long enough for Jae to worry that maybe he was an idiot after all. And then it passed. "What's that supposed to mean?"
This was familiar territory. If there was one thing he knew how to do--and there were actually a few, thank you very much--it was this. Fight. Argue. Needle. "You said it's a luxury you only afforded people you love and care about but, uh, if that's the case, must be you can't afford it at all." He paused there, but the possibility that his words would be misconstrued was too risky for him. Better to have it all out in the open. "Seeing as you're an unfeeling prick who can't love anyone."
"How dare you--"
"Spare me the pearl-clutching, Downton Abbey" Jae said, pushing himself off the wall and making his way slowly across the room to the door. "I get it, okay? I'm a commoner who isn't worth getting riled up over, and yet, here you are. Riled. But you wanna call it something else? Fine, whatever." He put his hands up, an absolute mockery of surrender.
Yeol made a noise to say something else but honestly? Jae didn't want to hear it. He didn't care--again, not an idiot--but he knew he was on the precipice of a feeling he did not want. And he knew when an extraction plan was the best plan. He put his hand on the door and then paused to interrupt. To cut off what Yeol was going to say, and because being an asshole was his only pleasure these days. "Call it what you want. I don't care about that. But when you're done running away from any unpleasant feeling, let me know. I think you and I can make the hate sex thing work."
With that, and a little salute, he left, making his way out the building and to--oh--anywhere else. Didn't matter where. He was clocked out for the night.

[ BENEATH ] for jae/yeol
@kimsgoeun
[ BENEATH ] :     sender moves a hand beneath an item of receiver’s clothing to touch their skin.
Don't say anything. That had been Yeol's directive--an irritated, spat-out order when Jae had inevitably said something too far. Well, that wasn't hard. Yeol thought everything Jae did was too far. And, to be fair, Jae thought Yeol was so far up his own asshole that he should've spiraled in on himself like a fucking black hole of annoying.
Annoying, yes, but that didn't deter Jae from wanting to keep prodding at him. The only fun he found in this otherwise boring-as-shit job was riling his ward up. Jae was under no obligation to obey any orders he was given from the other man--Jae's job description started and ended with keep him alive and safe, not happy or respected or any bullshit like that--but what was the fun in continuing to talk. Then, he would simply respond by being exasperated that Jae couldn't shut up.
No, he needed a new way to be a bother. Jae looked the man over. This mid-project, rumpled look was a good one for him: shirt rolled up to the elbow, showing off the forearm; hair mussed from resting his hands in it; tie loosened because it was late. Even Jae had to admit, it was appealing. In fact...
Jae moved quietly--a gift of his, useful in this line of work, yadda yadda--until he was behind him. He leaned over the table, as though he were reading the documents there, resting a hand on Yeol's shoulder. Chan-yeol didn't say anything, though Jae could feel his muscles tense under his fingers. A good start. Slowly, Jae let his hand slide, until he had reached the top button. He flicked it open easily and dipped his hand inside.
"What're you doing?" Chan-yeol snapped, making no attempt at removing Jae's hand. Jae smirked and--with the hand not inside the other man's shirt--mimed zipping his lips. You told me not to say anything, remember, he tried to show with his hands. Yeol rolled his eyes. Jae ran his hand along his chest, feeling the way his heart pounded and his skin seemed to warm under the touch.
When Jae's fingers brushed against the puckered skin of a nipple, that seemed to be the last straw. Yeol batted his hand away, turning in his chair to face him. "Stop that. Stop not talking. Why are you even in here?"
Jae shrugged, and then decided that talking would be more fun. "Can't keep you safe if you're not in arm's reach," he said. A lie, not that it mattered. He felt no remorse for lying, least of all when that flash of anger lit up Yeol's eyes.

jae/yeol: 💔
@kimsgoeun
13. a   ‘  please  ’   kiss.
They hadn't managed to fully undress, but that didn't matter. Jae rolled off the couch with as much grace as could be expected of him, and reached for his pants. The wrinkled shirt was, well, a wrinkle, but he would make it work. He worked quietly, hoping that if he didn't make much noise, he might be able to get out without Yeol noticing his movement.
No such luck--Yeol sat up just as Jae hand his hands on the door. "I'll be back," he said, voice soft. "You can stay there."
Yeol didn't take the bait. He looked bedroom-satisfied--Jae was pretty pleased by that, not gonna lie--but otherwise, still as much like shit as he had before Jae had convinced him to lie down on the couch. Well. Put him on the couch. Lying down was more incidental. Regardless, Jae had hoped this would keep him lying on the couch. "I should--"
"Stay there," Jae finished for him, superstitious that if Yeol said he was going to get up to do work, that he wouldn't be able to stop him.
"I shouldn't," Yeol answered, though the lack of bite in his words told Jae that even he didn't fully believe it. He should nap. They both knew it. It was just that Jae didn't do denial the way Yeol did.
Jae walked back to the couch, not yet sure if he was going to simply pin the man down and restrain him or argue or what. Clearly, the post-coital sleepiness didn't get him as far as he'd wanted. He leaned down, still not sure what he was going to do, when his lips caught the other man's.
They'd kissed plenty, sure, but Jae usually let Yeol close the distance between them. If it surprised Yeol that he didn't this time, he didn't show it, and Jae did his best to mask surprise at his own actions as a rule. It wasn't searing like their kisses usually were. It wasn't exactly soft and sensual either. More...plaintive. Jae wasn't so foolish as to think Yeol would stop and rest if he literally begged, but maybe if he put the energy of that begging into a kiss, it might have some impact.
They broke when Yeol needed to breathe. Jae let him pull back, and straightened up. To his immense pleasure, the other man let his head rest on the pillow behind him. "Where're you going?" he slurred, already clearly dozing off.
"Bathroom." The lie was easy enough. He could make his way down the hall toward the bathroom and then detour to Yeol's office and reschedule some things. Hopefully, by the time he finished, the other man would finally be getting some rest. Covering for a half-zombie was a pain in the ass.

SEND “ ✿ ” FOR 2 HEADCANONS FOR OUR MUSES’ RELATIONSHIP.
is that 2 each? i'm going to assume it's 2 each or i'll be here for 20000 years writing headcanons
adrian/sage
sage's ex-fiance left her the ring (it was cheap and he just wanted to be rid of her) but adrian gets her a ring eventually anyway. he says it's to make this seem more real but we all know the real reason...
sage starts tucking little notes into the books he's reading but since he reads so many she doesn't always know which one/ones he'll see first so she puts a little code on them so she can keep track
astrid/zara
the first time astrid had a vision that they were able to prevent involving zara was actually in person. they just happened to be at the store (definitely not trying to figure out if it would come true or not) and ran into zara at the exact moment where they could pull her away from the falling sign
because zara is a celebrity, once they do start going out, they agree to try to hide astrid's identity for a little while so they can have privacy. they both blow it pretty much immediately though
chan yeol/jae
there's one (1) girl jae thinks is good enough for chan yeol of the ones he is forced to go on dates with, but it turns out she's not interested either and jae finds that Proof in some way
once he's comfortable/secure that he's not gonna get fired, jae starts slipping little meetings or briefings into yeol's schedule with people who could actually improve the world in hopes that yeol accidentally greenlights one of their ideas without knowing he's been set up
charlotte/victoria
after the wedding, victoria lingers back home/near charlotte for an extra week before going back to california because she's not ready to face her real life yet
when they dated the first time around, they used to go to really pretentious museums and stuff like that because they both thought the other one liked it, oops
elizabeth/ryan
their original plan/contract includes a breakup date
elizabeth starts keeping clothes (work outfits mostly) at ryan's place way before the first time they have sex because they go back to his place just to hang out more often than they go to hers
ethan/noah
movies are one of the kinds of "dates" they can go on where they can hide well, but they also do a speakeasy in downtown that none of their friends like
they do eventually make friends with the other person being cheated on (barry's other bf's bf) and have a little circle of "fuck barry tho"
julian/wynter
after their first kiss, wynter pretty much avoids julian until he gives her a sign that she didn't mess things up between them
their moms have absolutely no idea they're together until they tell them. charlotte, on the other hand, knows right away
miles/sonia
when sonia graduates, miles takes her on a li'l vacation to celebrate (idk where he'd take her but it's super cute regardless)
sonia never sabotages any of miles's dates but one of her coworkers (who works in the kitchen) DEFINITELY purposefully makes worse food for the date because she's rooting for sonia/miles from day 1
linette/wren
before wren figures out who linette is/why a hit's been taken out on her, she tries really, really hard to hide who she is from him. not because she knows who/what he is or anything, just like...it's so nice for someone to seem like they're taking an interest in her that's not about her ex
wren audits a few of her lessons (for recon reasons i assume) and linette becomes really determined to figure out what kind of art he likes

[ NINETEEN ] : “ i can’t do this to you. ” (jae/chan yeol)
@cass1x1
There's a hand on his arm, keeping him in place. Stills him from what he's about to do. Yeol's unable to mask the confusion from his face. "I can't do this to you."
"You can't do this to me?" he scoffs. "And what? This is somehow different than any other time?" He tries to pull away, but doesn't get far. Not with the hand still gripping his arm--a measure Jae's probably done just so Yeol can't run off like they both know he will. But an uncomfortable gnawing stirs in his chest as the mood shifts.
He watches as a frown forms on Jae's face. His gaze met with some unreadable, serious expression. An unspoken implication brewing in the silence that grows between them. An implication that Yeol's been more than happy to shove away into some dark, forgotten corner and ignore it.
Jae opens his mouth to say something, but Yeol cuts him off. "Don't." Eye widening in alarm, he shakes his head, not wanting to hear it. Repeats himself, "Don't." Whatever this is, he doesn't want it. Doesn't need to further complicate what's already a giant mess. If Jae's offended or hurt by it, he doesn't care. Maybe prefers it if it means the conversation would just stop. But now Yeol doesn't want to look at him and find out.
It isn't necessarily a relief when there's irritation laced in Jae's tone. Not when he's still holding onto him like he expects something. "You can't ignore me forever."
He turns and glares. Knows he's being ridiculous and childish all to avoid confrontation. "Watch me."

" don't think i won't carry you if i have to! " (jae/chan yeol)

Yeol sputters in disbelief. Rips his attention away from the work at hand to stare at Jae instead. Common sense insists that it's only words. There's no real way that the man means it--mostly because that would be preposterous. But Yeol also doesn't trust that Jae wouldn't do something preposterous just to prove a point. Especially to him.
"I know you're thinking about it, but I will do it."
He scowls, blowing out an annoyed breath. "You can't just threaten me whenever you want me to do something."
"It works though," Jae shrugs.
They stare but the silence speaks volumes between them. Seconds tick by and he knows how it's going to go. Yeol huffs. Rolls his eyes and relents.
"Don't," Yeol warns when he sees the look on Jae's face. Tries to ignore him further when the other man holds up his hands in feigned surrender and follows him out of his office.

✦ - Rolling up their sleeves to keep cool, showing off their forearms (jae/chan yeol)
@cass1x1
The AC isn't working in the office building. A major inconvenience to them all considering the work attire and the shuffling of employees on every floor. Yeol half expects it to be taken care of within the hour at least--there's no way someone isn't paying an exorbitant amount for it to get fixed as soon as possible. But until then, an inconvenience.
An uncomfortable, hot inconvenience.
A fan circulates warm air around his office. Yeol wipes at his brow and lets out a breath as if that'll suddenly cool him down. Having already removed his jacket, he tugs at the tie around his neck and attempts to focus on his work. The heat, at least, keeps Jae quiet from bothering him. They're seated across from each other in the sitting area of his office. Cups of ice water are set between them on the low coffee table.
Yeol catches movement in his peripherals, glances up only to see Jae loosely roll up the sleeves of his white button-up. It's an innocuous act that means nothing (it means it's hot in the office), but his gaze distractedly lingers on the other man's arms. Mentally chastises himself for the simple action attractive... For finding Jae attractive at all.
"See something you like?"
His attention flashes back up towards Jae, caught in the act. "No." His brows furrow when he notes that Jae's already gotten up to move in front of him. Holds in a grumbled complaint when he's forced back on the couch, Jae pinning him in place between his arms and leaned down towards him. Yeol keeps his eyes fixed on him, knowing this is yet another bait on Jae's part. It still doesn't stop the extra thump that goes off in his chest.
"I don't understand how you have the energy to do this when we're all about to suffer a heat stroke."
Jae shrugs. "Isn't there some saying about how if you can't beat 'em, join them?"
He rolls his eyes. "That has nothing to do with beating the heat."
"I don't hear any better solutions."
"I finish my work and then we can leave--maintenance will most likely get it fixed soon anyway."
Jae leans in closer, easily enough for Yeol to close the distance like he's sure Jae wants him to. "My idea is better."
"Your idea involves inappropriate workplace behavior," he says, giving him a pointed look. Jae shrugs once more in response, smiling temptingly. It's not like Yeol has much of a choice in the manner, work or no work, not if he has Jae in his face like this.
So annoying is the thought on his mind when he gives in, grabbing the collar of Jae's shirt and kissing him. Jae grabs the back of his head, shoves the laptop off of Yeol's lap. A firm hand on his shoulder pushes him further down on the couch until they're nearly horizontal. Yeol traces a hand over his arm, tension and muscle under his palm.
There's a break in the kiss in an attempt to breathe. As they do, a hum buzzes in the air. The air's back on. "Told you it'd be fixed soon." Jae runs a finger against his jaw, murmurs a "Mhm" as he kisses the corner of his mouth. He's inclined to keep going, but... "I have work to do still," Yeol mumbles between the press of lips.
Jae pauses, meeting his gaze with disbelief. "So?"
"Well the air is on... and so now I can go back to finishing the work I have..." Somewhere in between that, Jae has given up listening, more bent on distracted Yeol from his train of thought. His breath hitches at the hand slipping under his shirt. "...It's not going to take long." A lie most likely, but he also can't figure out how to stop this when he doesn't exactly want to either.
So when Jae points out that the work will still be there afterwards, it's difficult for him to argue against that.

❀ - BONUS TOUCH EDITION: Asking your Muse to help put sun screen / lotion / medical salve on a wound anywhere else (jae/chan yeol--a wound jae got from protecting him, preferably lol)
@cass1x1
His lip is split, a bruise forming along the man's jaw at around his left eye. It's not the prettiest picture in the world to be looking at, and Yeol feels partially responsible for the state Jae's in. Being targeted as some kind of payback towards something his father has done in his business dealings does make it feel like it's Yeol's fault, but only because Jae's hurt as a result.
The fact that his father only called to remind Yeol not to speak to press about it and his secretary then messaged him to send over any medical expenses that needed to be paid said how little concern there actually is regarding what's happened. Don't cause a bigger spectacle is the unspoken message behind both.
Yeol watches as Jae tries to clean himself. Winces when he raises his arm in an attempt to dab antibiotic cream to his split lip. Jae catches him staring and rolls his eyes. "So are you planning are staring or are you going to help me out here?"
"I didn't think you needed my help," he shrugs, but he moves towards the other man anyway. Yeol tries not to frown at seeing the injuries up close. Instead he says, "You look like shit," as a way to not seem concerned.
"You're not supposed to insult the person that got punched for you. Kind of an asshole move."
"Just stating the truth." Taking the disinfectant from him, he swabbed some onto the Q-tip. He reached out towards him when Jae attempted another comeback, but Yeol interrupted. "--Just shut up for a second and let me do this first."
Jae listens for once without being difficult. Carefully, he dabs the ointment onto his bottom lip, gaze only flickering towards his once when Jae seemingly hisses at the initial contact. Focusing back on the task at hand, he pauses once he's done, hand lingering in the air between them.
The bodyguard breaks the silence first. "What? Thinking about the ways you're going to make this up to me?" He knows he says it jokingly, sarcastically, but Yeol nods all the same. Whatever look Jae gives him at that, he misses, but the hand at his wrist pulls his attention back. "I'm just fucking with you. It's happens."
Yeol doesn't say anything to that. Logically he knows that, but it doesn't negate the guilt that lingers in his gut.
He's tugged forward towards him, blinks in surprise when he nearly loses his balance. Jae flashes him a stern, yet irritated look. His tone drips in sarcasm once again, "If you're that torn up about it, you can just kiss me for my efforts then."
There's probably an expectation of a scoff to come as a result of the comment. A brush off. A scathing remark in return. But Yeol does something that seems to surprise them both. He's careful to miss the cut he's just treated, pressing a kiss to Jae's lips for a brief second. Yeol lingers again, hovering a breath away from him. Spotting the disbelief on the other's face, he pulls back and breaks the awkward tension he's formed. "Thanks for getting punched in the face for me."
At least the comment is enough for Jae to snort in response. "I'd prefer it not to be a reoccurring thing."
Yeol nods in amusement. "I will try to keep that in mind, but you are rather punch-able, so you'll probably have to work on that first." Chuckles when Jae shoves him ever so slightly back.

“i know you don’t like being touched, but there’s nothing that can be done about that now.” (jae/chan yeol)
@cass1x1
A crowd rushes onto the busy elevator just as the door is about to close. Yeol steps back absent-mindlessly until he's pressed into the corner of the elevator. He pays no mind to Jae and assumes the man would be stuck beside him, only to glance up when he realizes they aren't side-to-side but face-to-face. His brows furrow at the sudden forced proximity, especially when someone bumps into Jae's back and forces the man even closer.
Knees nearly pressed together, Jae holds out a hand against the wall behind Yeol in an attempt not to be fully on top of him. There's no space to move. To breathe, really. He really doesn't appreciate how close this put their faces near each other.
Someone bumps into Jae's arm, and now instead of the wall, it's stuck resting against Yeol's side. He bristles at the contact, and Jae's quick to murmur something under his breath. "I know you don't like being touched, but there's nothing that can be done about that now." Yeol glares, but says nothing in response.
There is though. Getting off the elevator and waiting for another is one. Getting off the elevator and just walking the thirty flights up is another. But considering the crowd, it'd make it rather impossible to leave without it causing a big hullabaloo.
So he's stuck. It's fine. Mostly fine. Besides, it's not as if this elevator ride up will last more than a few minutes... Except the seconds seem to stretch for much longer than they are.
Jae's breath is warm against his face and he's well aware of the hand at his side. It's impossible to avoid the other man's gaze, shoots him a 'Don't you dare do anything' look when he notices the smirk on Jae's lips.
There really isn't space to move, but there is enough minimal space for the hand resting on his suit jacket to slip under it instead. His hand splays against his side, fingers digging into his waist--a not so subtle reminder of the last time they were this close together. Yeol sucks in a sharp breath. Glares again. But it's only met with a shrug and a not so innocent 'I'm not doing anything' smile.
The doors of the elevator chime and a majority of the inhabitants onboard finally leave, until it's just the pair of them again on board. Ten more flights to go. When the doors close and Jae has yet to move, Yeol finally says something. "What are you doing? You can get off of me now."
"You sure you want me to?" Jae chuckles. He eyes the space between them, his leg rubbing against him to point out the obvious.
Heat flushes over the back of his neck and he clears his throat. Yes is the obvious, blatant answer, but he doesn't manage to utter it out. The elevator chime answers for him though. Jae rights himself and takes a step back, flashing another arrogant smile before turning around to let Yeol get himself situated right as the doors open. He pauses for an added second and lets out a deep breath.
"You're insufferable," he mutters as he passes.
Jae laughs quietly, following him out of the elevator. "I'll be sure you to remind you of that later then."
Yeol shoots him a scowl. He doesn't like that he might actually be looking forward to this supposed later.
