Problems (objective and personal) I'm not seeing discussed a lot w this new WatcherTV thing, in no particular order:
-Alienates people internationally who literally CANNOT GET the streaming service!
-Alienates casual fans who don't watch or want to watch all of their shows. Putting down 60 bucks a year to watch just one or two shows is kind of insane, at least for me.
-The volume of content Watcher has produced historically hasn't been enough to justify a separate streamer. I understand there's no way a small team could compete with something like Netflix, obviously, but that's what you're trying to do by putting yourself in the streamer market.
-Will this streamer be secure? What steps are in place to protect your viewers info? ESPECIALLY payment info.
-Will it be easily watchable on multiple devices? I watch YouTube videos on my phone at work 90% of the time, or at home on my TV thru my switch. Is this a browser only deal?
-What are the internet requirements for this? Believe it or not most streaming services won't run on my internet personally. I don't have any for that reason. I can watch YouTube on 360p, or on my 2-bar-reception phone data. Not everywhere has stable reliable internet.
-The suddenness and totality of the move was going to be jarring no matter what, if the idea had been introduced gradually or started as a hybrid model to test audience interest there wouldn't be nearly this amount of pushback.
-I understand the people saying "pay artists!!" Bc I am one, and I get that their quality is expensive and they have a whole company's worth of people to support. I do actually think their work is worth paying for! Everyone's is! But convincing anyone to pay for something they previously got for free is going to be a hard sell. They were still getting paid before, they're now just asking us to pay instead of the advertisers. Idk about you, but that's a way bigger hit to my pocketbook than a multimillion dollar company's bank account.
-I get that YouTube can be a really shitty place to be a creator sometimes, and that being beholden to advertisers is something they don't want to be. It's why they left Buzzfeed! They already have a patreon and merch and it's clearly not been enough for their ambitions. But shooting yourself in the foot because your running shoes are wearing out isn't going to make you a better marathon runner. They had to know that there was going to be a not small portion of their audience unwilling to make this move with them (and again, lots literally aren't able to!)
-If they had a free w/ ads option, or even did a hybrid model with whole shows behind the pay wall, or even just ran a fucking crowd funding campaign to help cover costs of new seasons of shows, any of those things could have worked. They don't even have YouTube memberships turned on, which I've personally seen many many channels do even when they already have a patreon. It really doesn't seem like they've exhausted other options, at least from an outside perspective, which is all we have as viewers!
-I get that this has been in the works for a long time, and that there probably isn't a way for them to back out now. But I hope they can find a way to make this more accessible if they want it to work at all. I truly am not wishing for their downfall, but the whole situation is an awful mess.
Idk, rant over. As a lot of you are I'm feeling very disappointed and upset with this one, and I'm not paying for it either. Hope the boys can salvage this one for their and their crew's sake. Would really hate for this to be the end.

College of Pandora
In another world, Spider would be caught by the recoms, taken away to the human stronghold. In another world, he would be tortured, made to act as a guide and translator. He'd watch tulkun be hunted, he'd crash a ship, he'd be held hostage, and he'd return to the Sullys.
In this world, they sent his ass to school.
–---
The Parker Institute is the very first school on Pandora. Since they couldn't exactly make it a kindergarten, it's one of the most advanced colleges out there, with state-of-the-art amenities. Their students are served breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as small snacks and drinks throughout the day. They employ the highest rated professors to teach subjects anywhere from the Arts to Robotics. They have a large number of facilities for activities such as archery club, track, cooking, and more.
It's arguably one of the most expensive schools ever made. Students pay upwards of 1 million dollars in order to attend. Only the absolute best of the best attend on scholarship. The students will study their respective subjects, as well as be the first students on Pandora, a 'test run'. But it's definitely safe!
–-------
Spider felt like peeling his skin off. The walls were smooth and cold to the touch, glossy and white. There was very little to look at except for 2 chairs, nothing natural about this. He tried to hug himself to conserve warmth, but it did very little. He had been left here after his capture, after they came in and asked strange questions and did tests.
He didn't even know where 'here' was.
Suddenly, the door opened. That bitch, Ardmore, stepped through, but she was followed by another figure. They were dressed in dark blue, the fabric hugging their body. It fell around their legs loosely, starting at the hip, a bit like an upside down flower. He'd never seen a human dress like that, or a Na'vi for that matter.
They looked like an older woman, but different. The wrinkles on her face made her look sharp, unlike Mo'ats wrinkles. Those came from laughter and hard work. He got the feeling that the woman spent most of her life scowling. "Is this the boy?" She asked, her voice as sharp as her gaze. She judged as harshly as the older Na'vi when they saw him playing with the Sullys. Ardmore only nodded. "Now what am I to do with him? I've not been trained to domesticate, I'm afraid." She sniffed.
"Well, what am I gonna do with him?" Asked Ardmore, "The only option is to keep him locked in a cell, and while I'm saying I don't want to do that, I'm saying that those cells are needed for things other than him." She finished harshly. The two spoke over him like he wasn't even there, and that really started to grind on his nerves.
"So what, I'm supposed to let this boy into my school? Don't be ridiculous." She huffed. "You are going to keep him in your damn school, and that's final. You don't want me contacting Parker about a new principal, now do you?" The woman grit her teeth. "Fine," she said, "I'll deal with him."
Ardmore left soon enough, as did the woman. He didn't know how much time passed, but he was antsy.
–------
There was talking outside the room. It was muffled, but Spider could make out the words if he pressed his ear against the door.
"Ah, m--ma'am, while I really am just so honoured that you chose me for the task, I really can't do this. I mean, um, I'm not very well versed in these types of situations and I believe that perhaps one of the professors would be better suited for the task."
This voice was new. Young and light, but filled with an energy that was making him jittery.
"Miranda, darling, I have nothing but utmost and complete faith in your capabilities, and therefore, I believe that you would be best suited for acclimating the boy to school life."
This one was familiar, the old woman in strange clothes. She sounded less harsh here, even almost sweet. Sickly sweet.
"Ma'am, please, I'm already busy with several school related projects as well as the other projects you've assigned to me! I don't believe I have the time, knowledge or resources to handle such a task!"
The younger voice sounded almost desperate.
"Oh, please. You have access to more resources than anyone on the planet, you have plenty of time, and you are one of our top students here. I have absolutely no doubt that you can do this. Now here, take this and note down what you think the boy might need, and send the info to the others in the RHA."
"Wha--bu–"
There was a clicking noise that slowly went farther and farther away. He heard someone breathing erratically, pacing outside the room.
Then, the door clicked open. Spider hurriedly stepped back, taking a defensive stance. In stepped a strange figure. She was tall, taller than him even. Her hair was held back by a white band, with bangs covering her forehead. Her hair was jet black, darker than anything he'd seen before, poofy and curly. Her skin was brown, like the base of Hometree. She had a stronger nose than the other humans he's seen before, with dark brown eyes. There were these small spots all over her face, like the tahni of the Na'vi.
She wore what he could only describe as sleek. She wore a white full body piece, layered with something Norm taught him was called a "blazer". Disappointingly, it wasn't some article of clothing made of fire, but instead, it was a cloth that covered the back and arms, and parted at the front with a collar. It was deep blue in colour, lined with white and unnecessary buttons and pockets. There was cloth around her legs, a skirt. It was the same blue as the blazer, falling around her knees in a pleated pattern.
She had her hands clasped around a tablet. As she walked in, she smiled at him, but he could tell she wasn't very happy about being here. Granted, neither was he, but he was just abducted and is now seemingly awaiting execution or torture. So perhaps their situations are not so comparable.
"Hello!" She greeted, stepping towards him with an outstretched hand. He backed up further from her, hissing. It had the achieved effect of making her step away, her smile growing tight. "Right, right, raised by the Na'vi, why didn't I expect that? Sorry." She said, clearing her throat. "So, my name is Miranda Katarina, I'll be your um, your guide? Heh," she laughed nervously. Walking towards one of the chairs in the room, she sat down, gesturing for him to do the same. He remained in the far corner in the room.
"No? That's okay, I get it, I get it." Pulling the tablet in front of her, quickly pulling something up. "Okay, so I'm in charge of your education and all that, but first I need to know what kind of education you need. Can you please read this and tell me what it says?"
She held the screen towards him. It displayed many words close together, like one of the old report logs he's read before. He shifted his gaze towards her, her face looking at him pleasingly, as if she was saying please don't make this difficult. She looked so very….what's the word? Sad? No, hmmm….ah! That's right, she looked a bit pathetic. Up close, he could see dark bags under her eyes, her pupils dilated. She was smiling, but again, it was sad. How did she make such a happy expression look so upsetting?
Reluctantly, he walked near her, trying to read the words displayed.
Mr. Hungerton, her father, really was the most tactless person upon earth,—a fluffy, feathery, untidy cockatoo of a man, perfectly good-natured, but absolutely centered upon his own silly self. If anything could have driven me from Gladys, it would have been the thought of such a father-in-law. I am convinced that he really believed in his heart that I came round to the Chestnuts three days a week for the pleasure of his company, and very especially to hear his views upon bimetallism, a subject upon which he was by way of being an authority.
The words were framed in a way that made them hard to understand. He was by way of being an authority? What? And that's not mentioning the few foreign words that are used. Cockatoo?
His confusion must've been on his face as well, because she pulled it away from him. "Well, I geuss that you'll need linguistics," she spoke, switching the screens and tapping it, as if writing something. "It's a great class, really, they teach languages like english, french, dutch, even Na'vi. It'll be easier for you to communicate there." She gave these reassurances as if they were supposed to calm him, but they did everything but. He didn't want to learn the demons language, he knew enough already. He wasn't stupid, just raised with better morals. Na'vi had no written words, there was never any need.
He narrowed his eyes.
"You know, this would be over sooner if--if you spoke. To me. Please speak to me." She said, still smiling. He really didn't like how her face and voice made him feel guilty. "It's okay if you can't, you know, you can be taught, it's fine, it's fine!" She waved her hands, as if physically trying to remove the tension, "I--I just need to know if that's the case. I mean, it would be just, like, a big help and the process would go smoother and you know what? You could–, you could go to your own room, and I, um, I can't let you go home, sorry about that, but I can! Um, I can get you a room with a view of the forest? Of course, it won't really be in there, but you'd see it every day, and I'm sure it's not as great as the real thing, but, you know, it's something. And I don't actually have a lot of authority, so it's really all I can do–"
He cuts her off. "Shh, shh," he says, holding his hand out, "Stop talking. Seriously, just….stop." He walks over to the other chair, pulling it back and sitting. It was obvious she wasn't a soldier, she didn't have that indifference towards life in her eyes. She could be a researcher, but she didn't quite look the part. No white lab coat, nothing. "What are you, and what do you want from me?"
Because if it was the Na'vi she wanted, then she's not getting anything. She'd have the pry the knowledge out of his teeth, and he could tell she didn't have the guts. He'd protect them with his life, it was the least he could do.
"Oh!" She said, surprised, "Ah, I'm Miranda, I'm the head of the Student Government at Parker Institute." She said sheepishly, "You'll be attending, and I am here to make sure that you go to where you need to go, and that you acclimate well."
He still didn't know what that meant exactly, but he got the gist. She was like his keeper, the watchdog that has to keep tabs on him. He frowned.
"So, I've got you down for linguistics, are there other areas that you, ah, feel like could be improved?" She asked tentatively. He scoffed at the idea. You could always improve, you could always do better. But with the Na'vi, with Neytiri, being good or better just didn't make a difference. But he still gave his all to them, it was the least he could offer. A meagre apology, all things considered.
"M-math? Maybe? Or–, you know, they told me you lived a more 'Na'vi' lifestyle, you could do woodwork, or pottery, or even theatre," she suggested, looking down at the screen as though she was reading off of a list, "There's also botany and zoology. It's kinda like what Dr. Grace Augustine studied before her, um…." She grimaced, hesitating, contemplating her words, "....her untimely passing."
A thick silence fell over the room.
She coughed, clearing her throat. "So, I'll sign you up for um, Woodworking. I'll put you down for math–," he speaks up, "No way." He says gruffly, and she flashes a smile before looking down at her pad. "O-okay, no math. That's fine, you know, that's fine. What about other subjects? We have, uh, just about everything. There's the Arts, that's like a general term for things like theatre and painting and crafts. We have engineering, that's where you make machines, and chemistry, that's where you mostly use chemicals."
None of that sounded interesting, but….
"....I want to do what Dr. Grace did.." He said quietly. She smiled, typing something out on the tablet. "Okay, botany and zoology. Did you want to try out, like, a general course first or do you want to do, like, something more specific, like marine life…?" He scrunched his nose, crossing his arms. "What did Dr. Grace do?" She looked down, fingers moving swiftly across the screen, "Mostly wildlife that lived in the forest, marine life research is mostly Dr. Gavins."
He didn't know who Dr. Gavin was at all, so he really didn't feel like taking his course. For all he knew, he was out there torturing innocent sea creatures.
"Okay, you know what, we'll just start off with 3 classes for now, and later, we can try different classes!" She got up, tablet grasped in her left hand as she approached the exit. She paused, just as she was about to open the door, turning back to him. "D–did you want some clothes? Do you want some clothes?" She asked carefully, and he hissed at the mention of wearing the constricting cloth the demons call clothes. "I only offer because, ah, the school is usually colder than this," she gestured to the room they were in, "And you're already pretty, um, cold."
She mumbled the last bit, but he heard her. Defiantly, he pulled his arms to his side, "I'm not cold." He said, loudly, looking at her with some sense of determination. "You--you're cold. You're freezing, actually." She was mumbling again, before clearing her throat. Shyly, she looked him up and down. He looked at himself, just now noticing the slight shivering and goosebumps that covered his skin. She turned away. "I can get you a coat, maybe?"
And that's how he ended up in a coat. It bore no RDA logo, seeming more like personal cloth than something the RDA provided. It was more of an ocean blue, with this strange red pattern across it. He thinks he saw them in a book once, something about earth and flowers. It smelled strange, but pleasant. It was more natural than whatever it was that they used to scrub the walls.
They walked the halls, with him hissing and glaring at the soldiers who looked at him too long. They eventually made it to a long corridor, completely made of glass. All around them, Pandora glowed. He hadn't noticed that night had fallen. Looking outside, past the see-through walls, he felt upset. He could imagine the touch and smell of every plant out there, like the soft glow could be held in his hands.
"This is the school's entrance." She spoke up, breaking the uneasy silence the two had been walking in. Somehow, the skyperson seemed more afraid of him than he was of her, which was strange. She was larger, but probably not stronger than someone who swings off trees every day.
"Un--unfortunately, we weren't able to prepare a–, um, room for you," she said as she pulled some kind of card from her breast pocket, pressing it against a scanner. The doors opened with a low hiss, revealing white walls. Really, what was humanity's obsession with white? He recalls Norm telling him something about spills, but he felt like no amount of spills could justify making a place look whiter than a snowy mountain.
"So you'll just have to room with me, and tomorrow we can do a tour and start your classes."
She spared him an apologetic glance, one he ignored in favour of glaring at her. He'd never shared his room with anyone, mainly because his was too cramped for Kiri or Lo'ak to sleep in, Neteyam hated being inside the shack with a burning passion, and Tuk wasn't allowed to go to sleep there due to the air thing. It was a little lonely, especially when he dreamed of getting to sleep in a big pile like the Na'vi. And he'll claim that there's no one specific holding him, just warm hands and entangled limbs on a cold night in a hammock.
This was not that.
This was being led up white stairs, seeing these doors lined across a hallway. He is being led farther away from those doors, up more stairs, up more stairs, led down another hall. The white walls are genuinely numbing to him. He accidentally bumps into her when she stops unexpectedly in front of a door. For just a split second, he feels fabric on his bare chest. Smooth, soft fibres against his skin. And in that exact same second, they scrambled away from each other. They regard each other carefully, eyes wide and shoulders tense.
A beat of silence passes.
"Th--This is my room." She says, eyes trained on him for a moment before taking that same card from before and pressing it onto a scanner. The door swings open, and she steps inside, and he hesitates. She turns to him with that same pleading look. As if to say please come in. Depressingly, he feels almost excited; he's never really been wanted somewhere, much less someone's room. But she is a demon and this is her fortress, so being wanted here is actually a very bad thing.
He pushes down the joy and welcomes the trepidation.
He steps in after her, regarding the room with suspicion. He can only assume he's being watched here.
The room is big, bigger than his room in the shack. Massive windows reveal Pandora's beauty, glowing and luminescent under the night sky. The room is white, yes, but he could see dark blue along the walls. The ceiling was high, small lights dimmed to almost nothing. A large bed was off to the corner of the room, with deep blue sheets and pillows. The cover was laid neatly, the pillows stacked and smoothed so they looked like no one used them. Hesitantly, he steps forwards.
There is a carpet beneath his feet. It was light in colour, more off-white than anything, with intricate little symbols. The most intricacies he'd seen on anything made by humans was the innards of the terrible machines they used. He'd never really thought of the textile works of humans. Begrudgingly, he thought it was quite pretty, if a bit old.
There were artworks lined against the other wall, opposite of the windows. He eyed them carefully. Paintings of men and women in the strangest clothing he'd ever seen, loose and colourful as it hung from their bodies. Women wearing cloth tied over their hair, with thick dark locks, smiling and dancing or holding instruments. Men dancing along with them, with the same dark locks and brown skin.
Strange.
"You can sleep in my bed tonight," she says, walking over to the desk that was stationed a few feet away from the bed. Multiple monitors were on top, pens and pencils and notebooks and papers littered across the smooth brown surface. The desk was intricate, small compartments and buttons and such. This didn't seem like any human or Na'vi bedroom he'd ever seen before.
But all the desks and beds and carpets and art didn't matter.
What did matter was the strange little tree on the table beside the bed. It was small and curved, with branches reaching out. The leaves were a vibrant orange hue, so delicate and beautiful. Most trees in Pandora were a beautiful green that caught and reflected the light so majestically. They swayed gently in the wind, as if Eywa herself was using them to play a melody.
This tree was small and captivating in its own sense. It almost looked out of place, just as much of a prisoner as Spider. Except he wasn't confined to some kind of pot and kept in one place. He felt a sort of kindred spirit with the tree; both trapped and unable to escape the–, the demoness  that held them prisoner in her bedroom. The demoness that sat on her chair at her desk, like some kind of throne, watching her kingdom of hell.
He walked facing her. He was definitely not going to turn his back to her, he knew better than to trust a demon.
He ran his hand across the covers. Too plush, too velvety. Humans never seemed to have a good middleground, always too this or too that. The bed is the same, but at the very least, he was certain of one thing: the bed is safe. Of course it is. They'll want him alive so they can try to extract information from him. But he couldn't afford to let his guard down. He knew of how the sky people could deceive others, how he they could even decieve themselves.
That's how he ends up beneath blue covers, staring at the human.
She wasn't lying when she said it would get cold. The icy air felt like fire against his skin until he caved and slipped beneath the blanket. It was warm, but strangely, only smelled synthetic. He knew his blanket smelled like him, that the one that he and Kiri wove together once smelled like FRUIT and the one Lo'ak had tried making him once smelled of burnt fibres thanks to him setting it on fire, a little bit. These smelled unused. Unloved.
Ignoring the smell, he was managing to not fall asleep. Instead, he spent his time making sure she didn't try to do anything. And he was succeeding! All she's done is type away at her keyboard and drink coffee. She looks positively miserable. Good.
______
The morning light slowly crept upon them. The light bathed the room the room in gold, making it look brighter than it did in the night. The light caught on her eyelashes differently, more of a glow rather than how the moonlight made them shimmer. He could very clearly see dark circles beneath her eyes as she wiped away at the crust near her eyes. Those same eyes that looked like the same dark brown swirling in her cup during the night now looked like the brown of his bow. He could even make out flecks of gold.
She stretched her arms above her head with an audible crack and pop. Sighing, she leaned back into her chair, elbow resting on the armrest, rubbing at the bridge of her nose with pinched fingers.
He was also tired. Staying up all night, watching her, trying to keep warm lest he freeze to death.
Then suddenly, there was a ding at the door. The girl got up, walking towards the door and opening it. She took a tray from someone standing on the other end, conversing with them in a hushed tone.
"Yes, he stayed in my room tonight. I don't think he's sleeping, so keep your voice down." She whispered, "I'll be showing him around campus today, so please tell Adam and Eve that I can only call them today, maybe facetime if I get lucky. If there are any updates on Ms Carole's condition, do not hesitate to contact me."
The unknown person leaned in and whispered something in his ear.
"Yes, okay, I'll try to set up an official visit for the colonel and his team. Please let him know that I have Spider, and that he can drop in at the end of the day."
….
Please do not let him do that.
He didn't want to see that demon, he couldn't stomach looking at his face. Na'vi killer, demon, monster, dad. He brought a whirlwind of rage and terror and other emotions he couldn't deal with right now. He just–, he couldn't–, he cant he can't he can't. He needs to think of something else, anything else.
Hm, think, think, think….was Miranda some kind of doctor, then? Norm told him that humans had those, people who specialised in the human body. Unfortunately none of them stayed behind on Pandora, so they were just going at it blind when it came to broken bones or sickness.
She stepped back into the room, tray in hand. He squeezed his eyes shut as she approached. He heard something clink soft against the table beside the bed, as well as some sort of spritzing? "Good morning, BoBo." She said, and that was weird because she knew his name. Was BoBo some kind of synonym for prisoner? Kidnapee? He didn't know. But she said it like she was genuinely happy.
"Good morning to you too, Spider."
He might've flinched at hearing his name, who knows?
"I have a tour planned today," she continued, ignoring his silence, "so we'll need to eat fast. I--I know you might be uncomfortable eating with others, so you can just eat in here or your own room."  She smiles.
He flicks his gaze upwards. She's looking at him, holding something towards him. He only looks at her with suspicion. A few moments pass and she sighs. She brings it to her lips, takes a bite, and pushes it towards him. "See? Safe."
He gingerly took the food from her hand. It was brown and flaky, in a sort of crescent shape. It was cut open in the middle, filled with some sort of cream and fruit. It smelled great, yes, and it looked good, but he knew better than to trust anything that was given to him so freely. He was told stories where humans tried to poison their food and water.
But he supposed he had no choice.
__________
Now I'm not sure on the name so its only Parker Institute for now. This fic introduces a new version of the Recom program as well as a rival company to the RDA!!
They're coming in the next chapter; dw, you will get more info my friends. For now, know that the company is called HRI. <33

I just wanna take a moment to express my gratitude to the folks who have commissioned me! Just in the last week, I’ve gotten more commissions than probably the entirety I’ve had them, and it just means so much than y’all know. I haven’t really made this real public knowledge, but part of the reason I am reviving commissions is because I honestly need it. I’m placing the details under the cut, just because I’m not really trying to take advantage of the popularity in commissions to spin a sob story, but just because I want y’all to know what kind of impact y’all can have on a creator when you support them.
But the point of this post is to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has commissioned thus far and those who may yet do so. I’m working hard to get back to the level of content I was putting out pre-medical school, and I know I’ve got a lot to do, but the support from everyone since I started my humble little circle of RarePair Hell means more than y’all could ever realize. One month of the year is already over, and I’m looking forward to creating more wonderful things that you all enjoy!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all!
Now, to dive into why I’m compelled to write this little love letter to everyone at all:
TBH, this third year has been a financial struggle for me; I am living in a rather expensive apartment by virtue of a severe availability shortage where I live, and it was either sign a lease with this place or face a potentially rocky living situation with my parents (details I will not go into here). I am only getting by because I take the maximum amount of student loans I can every year (I am already $250,000 in debt with a year to go, and that is without debt from my undergraduate degree!), and there’s rumors that my rent may increase substantially come August. I can’t afford to move then, and then move again for residency the upcoming year, so I’m pretty much stuck.
Even with me taking all these student loans, I had to pull the entirety of my savings just to pay bills in the three weeks between the loan checks over December/January because, when divided evenly between the months, these stipends really don’t go far. It is even worse this semester; we get paid one lump sum every August and January, and the balance is not skewed toward the amount of months. The same amount covers August-December (5 months) as January-August (8 months). After bills, to try and put back money to replenish my savings, I am living on pretty much $1000 a month right now. Which, let me tell you, does not go far these days. It’s more than some people have, and I am definitely grateful that I have it. But it’s still hard.
I have to pay for my boards soon, which will probably be hundreds of dollars, if not over a thousand—for one national standardized test that we have to take to graduate, mind you! Next year will be even worse because the medical school does not pay for any of the travel rotations that we do; all of the expenses are shouldered by us. I don’t know if any appeals for financial aid will bear fruit. I know for a fact that financial lability is going to limit my opportunities, which will in turn limit my opportunities for residency. To say that I am stressing about the future is an understatement.
I’ve never been the type to ask for money, especially from online strangers, and again, me outlining my recent financial struggles isn’t a ploy to get more. But I want y’all to be aware of what y’all have unknowingly done. Seeing those e-mails from Ko-fi roll in over the last few days has moved me to tears. The fact that people enjoy my writing enough to give me their hard-earned money—when, universally, we are probably all struggling—warms me to my core. Y’all’s commissions gave me the reassurance that I have more to spend on gas or groceries this month, or have a small sum that I can put into my savings to use for traveling next school year, or have a little extra padding if something happens.
I know I can’t make this into a side hustle like fanartists can thanks to the gray legality of monetizing fanfiction, and I don’t want to lock my regular fanfiction behind a paywall, anyhow. I write for the love of it and to make people happy, not to make money—even if it would be more beneficial to me to do so. Anyway, I know this boom in commissions probably won’t last.
But for one month, you guys made my life a little easier. Genuinely, thanks for that. You didn’t know I needed it. I didn’t either. And I’m just really full of love right now.

This might be a bit out of nowhere but any advice or where to begin on becoming a vet tech? I currently have a job as a kennel assistant and I've decided I want to pursue vet work as a career but don't know where to start
that's exactly where i'd recommend you start, at a kennel! build confidence working with animals in a way lower-stakes environment (dogs are usually relaxed and happy at daycare/kennel, compared to the stress of being at the vet). unless you're already at a clinic? ok i'm gonna operate under the assumption that you're at a daycare/kennel.
all the following advice is usa specific. depending on where you live, you might need to get registered by taking the VTNE standardized test. i have an associate's degree in veterinary technology but never passed the test and am therefore not registered. in my area it hasn't been an issue because registration isn't required. nobody really cares as long as you can do the work, and i'm a shit test-taker yet a BALLER tech (also the test costs hundreds of dollars to retake). but again, i do have a degree, completed a full vet tech course, and my only option in the whole state was a private tech university which was waaaaaaaaay more expensive than it should be. like $40,000 student debt in a job that's infamously low paying. if i could do it again, i would NOT go to THAT school, because the other huge thing is: the clinical experience is where i learned 90% of what i needed to excel. if you have a more affordable schooling option like a community college or a university with scholarship options etc, do it!! but be wary of private schools, they're entirely profit driven.
if you're a kennel tech now and want to take the next step, then apply to be a kennel tech AT a vet clinic. kennel techs are usually there for janitorial duties and an extra set of hands for stuff like easy restraint. there's a big ol national veterinary staff shortage, you shouldn't have any trouble finding a clinic that's hiring. EVERYBODY hiring right now. bringing someone on as a kennel tech then eventually transitioning to vet tech/assistant is often the preferred way to hire from a training perspective, because starting with easier responsibilities and focusing on getting along with the rest of the team is less pressure than hiring a brand new TECH tech and loading them up with all the craziness right away.
now as far as the like....emotional side of things, i think i've already spoken extensively on how hard it gets. the first five years of fulltime teching was a roller coaster where the lows were a very very deep level of hell. now it's been 7 years going on 8, i'm part time, i'm the best at what i do, i've stayed with the same clinic and my pay is closer to what i deserve (it'll never ever be high enough lol), so i've finally reached a point of peace with this job. just be prepared for it to get worse before it gets better. one bit of advice from a trainer's perspective: when i'm hiring/training someone, the value that is way higher than your tech skills is how well you get along with the team. are you inquisitive and willing to learn? do you explicitly ask questions when you're not sure about something? are you respectful of doctors? do you keep a level head in a crisis? are you humble and willing to do the gross or mundane sides of the job? are you, like, cool? having those attributes makes you a good candidate, even if you're inexperienced. some of the best hires i've had were total newbies with great attitudes, and some of the worst hires i've had were seasoned techs who think they're hot shit and don't play nice with others. can't overstate how important teamwork is in this field.
if your plan is to eventually become a veterinarian, then this is where my expertise ends. <3 i have never wanted to be a vet, i'm settled in my career, i know nothing about vet school, go with god. <3

Two Months In
It's been about two months now. More like one in and a half but it's close enough for me. There's enough to say.
From what I understand, in HVAC first you get your apprenticeship and then you get a journeyman's card. There's also a contractor card you can get later down the line but it's optional. I don't think the stress of running my own business is for me, but I may think differently about it when I get there. After school I'll be working an apprenticeship job. Finding one won't be difficult, I've been made offers already. Finding one that will accept that I am transgender may be difficult. When it comes to looking around for jobs, even entry level, I've found my applications denied despite being more than qualified. I like to think that perhaps they had already filled the position, or I had done something else (like flunk one of those online tests that many places have you take) but there is a pessimism that tells me that it could be that I'm trans. That's likely not true for all of them, but I'm sure the issue will come up later.
My solution is to have my name changed. This is free to do on a federal level, however in my state a name change can cost 200+ dollars for whatever reason. I can't help but think this is very classist. I cannot afford that, $200 dollars pays for my electric and procured interest for my student loans. This is assuming I have no other hoops to jump. If the judge or admin I'm paired with feels like being difficult that could cost me more money. I could wait until I have a nice apprenticeship job but I want the name change to make that process easier. I've thought of starting a gofundme or something similar. Perhaps a small business where I make stickers or something. Those are a dime a dozen so I'll need some brancells to get that one really going.
I'm also trying to cope with the idea that I may have to grind out many hours a week working an apprenticeship and my current restaurant job. Student loan payments begin six months after I graduate, adding a whopping $400 of extra expenses onto me. I know many people are just fine working two jobs, and I'm not special, it's just something I've never done before. At the moment I cannot drive (due to a past seizure disorder) but I should be able to get my license in February assuming the seizures do not come back. I've been through hell and back trying to figure out what they are and used a lot of insurance money. Specialists and doctors alike are stumped so they can come back whenever they feel like and there's not much I can do about it. I'm terrified that it could come back while I'm trying to work in this field. It's all a bit much.
Back to the driving thing, I mention it because it means my partner had to drive me everywhere, which would be incredibly inconvenient if I'm working two jobs (not that it's not inconvenient now). I'd also have to either pick up a cheap used car (as if those exist anymore) or start making car payments.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. My inbox is open. I'm a no nonsense kind of guy but I have a sense of humor. I also have no clue how tags work, I've been winging it. If someone could help me out there I'd be appreciated.

He's more like her arrogant and think they can get it back and to make sure they don't
His firebird idea is one of the best ideas I've ever heard and he said it might be Billy z and yes one of his ideas but you touched on it it's because you're tired of riding the bicycle around almost getting an accidents with every single idiot that comes by you and in the car we go after them pretty hard now I've seen this before reaction to the firebird is very positive but with red it would not be so good and you have to try it but we're pretty sure it's not great it is blue it's not so good either the other works really well but you're saying this at this time it might not be good either so we might try it cuz we think you're right and burgundy is different. We got a lot of hoots and laughs from our people because of what these idiots are saying and they looked at and said wow that thing is actually very hot it looks like a supercar kind of and they couldn't believe it it was really cool looking and we have a way of getting it there and a way to get it to you but you say you have enough money for it now and we know you don't see you sit there cuz you can't do it and people like the idea of having it in the first place and then having an end of disguised as a Camaro and the Z28 now it's an SS and they like the idea of having it look modernized and probably have LS1 attachments on a regular old Camaro motor any like that stuff the only thing they don't like cuz you driving around having a good time but it represents us actually succeeding and they would be pissed off for sure when you think it's just concrete they have to face so they feel bad for you. We're going to go ahead and start putting it together and we probably already did but it's a good idea and having a smaller motor is a good idea I think it was way too heavy that big block we like 1200 lb and the 341 or what have you 342 ways about 800 lb it's still very heavy and nowhere near that heavy that's ridiculous this is more like 600 pounds and that's more like it they need that in front of voice it's really heavy and it wasn't done up right for some reason it was weak and three speed is enough and I'll fix up inside of course there's nothing I'm going to be stock. And I guess he'd have to have a reason to have a car that's just a tool around and you'd have to pay insurance and still be 60 bucks a month or something like that it'll be $1,000 a year or seven hundred dollars a year it's not cheap with the older car would be less expensive. He just doesn't have that kind of money it requires maintenance and gasoline oil insurance and a few other things regular wear and tear and problems so really it's not going to happen unless he has some cash they say they don't feel like it that's fine what bill is he wants to get him in the vehicle and he's been thinking about it and he had a plan and stuff and it's not really that great but he got him the firebird in the first place because the shell is real metal and it's like a fair day cage and the frame is steel the engine is huge and solid steel kidnapping with it. Had the aluminum bike does nothing he tested a lot and it doesn't do anything just kind of sits there while the guy fries so it's back to the drawing board
There's about 60 people here and say no but half of them think it's a good idea and the other half think it's decent and they say all sorts of things about the firebird what to do to it how to treat it all sorts of stuff he would not believe it.
There are about 7,000 people screaming for him to get the vehicle and it's going to spread
Thor Freya
You don't like it but this is one of the most popular ideas you've had we've had in the Tommy f came up with most people think it's a good idea including the max and we have to review it and what you say is you don't have any money so a month or two for them to get out of their own way and we agree just so slow

10 Tips for Choosing the Right Colors For Your Home Painting Project
Tumblr media
Whether you're painting just one room or your entire house, choosing the right colors is essential to the success of your residential painting Mill Park project. The right colors can make a room feel cozy and inviting, while the wrong ones can make it feel cold and sterile. With so many different variables to consider, it's no wonder that choosing paint colors is often one of the most challenging parts of any home painting project.
To help you out, we've put together a list of 10 tips for choosing the perfect paint colors for your home. By following these tips, you'll be sure to end up with a result that you love.
Tip 1 Start with a color scheme in mind. Before you start perusing paint chips at your local home improvement store, it's helpful to have a general color scheme in mind. Are you looking for something bright and cheery? Something calming and serene? Knowing what kind of feeling you want to create in your space will help narrow down your options and make choosing paint colors much easier.
Tip 2 Consider the other colors in the room. In addition to thinking about the overall feeling you want to create with your paint job, it's also important to consider the other colors already present in the room. Take a look at your furniture, flooring, window treatments, and any other features that can't be changed. What colors do they contain? You'll want to choose paint colors that complement these existing colors rather than clash with them.
Tip 3 Understand undertones. Paint colors can have different undertones, which refer to the hue's base tone before it's mixed with white or black paint to lighten or darken it. Undertones can be warm (yellow, orange, or red) or cool ( blue, green, or violet). Warm tones tend to make a space feel cozier while cool tones can make it feel more spacious.
Tip 4 Use a paint sample before making a final decision. Once you've narrowed down your choices for your residential painting to a few potential candidates, it's always a good idea to test them before making a final decision. Paint samples only cost a few dollars each, but they can save you from making an expensive mistake. Apply the paint samples to a white piece of paper or directly onto the wall in question and observe how they look in different lights throughout the day.
Tip 5 Don't forget about trim! When choosing paint colors, it's important not to forget about trim—the moldings around doors and windows as well as baseboards and cabinets. These elements provide an important frame for your walls, so be sure to choose trim colors that complement your wall color rather than compete with it. A good rule of thumb is to use white trim if you're going with light walls and darker trim if you're going with dark walls.
Tumblr media
Tip 6 Go outside for inspiration. If you're having trouble narrowing down your choices or finding inspiration for your project, walk around your neighborhood or visit your local park. Pay attention to the colors you see in nature—the green of the trees, the blue of the sky—and see if any of them inspire you for your home painting project. You might be surprised how much nature can influence your color choices!
Tip 7 Use Pinterest for inspiration. If nature doesn't provide enough inspiration for you or if you're just looking for more ideas, Pinterest is always a good place to turn. This popular social media site is full of images of beautifully painted rooms, so it's easy to find ideas and inspiration for your project.
Tip 8 Get input from others. If you're still having trouble making a decision, don't hesitate to ask for input from friends, family members, or even professional residential painters or design experts. Sometimes it helps to get a second (or third) opinion before making such an important decision!
Tip 9 Don't be afraid of bold colors! A little bit of color can go a long way in adding interest to a room. If you're feeling daring, consider painting an accent wall or using colorful accessories to add pops of color throughout the space.
Tip 10 Use neutrals as a base If you're not sure where to start with your color choices. Neutrals like white, gray, and beige can act as versatile backdrops for any space. Once you have your neutrals in place, you can start adding in accent colors until you achieve the perfect balance for your home painting project!
Conclusion Hopefully, the blog was helpful to you. Feel free to share your thoughts with us. Choose Dan Home Painting for your next home painting project. We provide the best advice on residential painting in Mill Park. We are a fast, friendly, and professional team.

$1,057.80
That’s what I owe, out of pocket, for psychiatric testing. $1,056.80. My insurance, which costs hundreds of dollars a month, covered $0. And we’re not even to the worst part:
My results were pretty much inconclusive. I owe $1,057.80 just to have sat down with a lady who told me that I can keep a job, so I’m probably not THAT mentally ill. To be told that I didn’t have these issues when I was a kid (according to a phone call she made to my mother), so it can’t be ADHD or anything like that. To be told that I probably just have really bad anxiety and nothing else. To be told I should come back to that same clinic in a week and see a therapist for hundreds more dollars.
Which leads me to wonder: Do these people actually help anyone? If I’m not mentally ill enough to be diagnosed with anything conclusive besides anxiety (which, btw, I was already diagnosed with my a gen practitioner literally years ago; I was referred over to this psychiatric clinic due to my gen practitioner suspecting a personality disorder) because I can hold a job, but you have to have a well-paying job to even AFFORD to go to this clinic… then, by that logic, no one who is that mentally ill would even be able to go there.
So what do they do? Other than fucking rob people who have spent time saving money for expensive psychological testing just to be told to fuck off?

Save thousands of dollars with PTE Study Hub!
Tumblr media
PTE is an important exam that can have a significant impact on test taker’s life. Due to its role in meeting visa requirements a good score in PTE is a pathway to better life in your desired country.
Just like you prepared for your university or school examinations with your teachers and books and other study aids, the same way you should prepare for PTE Academic. There are several YouTube channels that are dedicated to PTE. However, the free materials do not come with any assurance of quality. Moreover, the person preparing for the test is not even able to understand how much of study and practice is enough, or how long they need to prepare, or which topics they need to focus on.
Therefore, the role of an expert tutor becomes so important. In any major city across the world, you will find at least a few PTE coaching centres. They are all staffed with teachers of different skill and ability, and it is often up to luck which centre a person ends up enrolling with. Many of these centres now also offer online classes which certainly has made it more convenient for the students. Whether online or offline, most of these centres charge from a couple of hundred to several hundred dollars for 2 to 4 weeks of classes. These are group classes in which you follow a set schedule and learn with others.
PTE Study Hub was one of the first PTE Preparation platforms designed entirely for online study. It was also an endeavour to use technology to make the preparation affordable. Our efforts over the years have built PTE Study Hub into the most complete platform now. From online coaching classes to scored mock tests, and other practice materials, everything can be found at one place. Compared to traditional coaching centres you can study on PTE Study Hub by paying a nominal fee!
If you ask your friends who have attended physical coaching centres, you will find that often 2 to 4 weeks is not enough, and students end up paying fees for many months to these centres. This adds up to thousands of dollars in many cases. When a person is already struggling to migrate or establish himself in a new country, this is a huge unwanted burden.
On PTE Study Hub all programs are under a hundred dollars! Even the ones which have duration of three months. This is about the same expense that you will make if you go out to for a movie and dinner with a friend in Sydney.
Another advantage that PTE Study Hub has over physical centres and which cannot be compared in terms of monetary savings is due to the huge scale of PTE Study Hub. At PTE Study Hub more students study in a day than in a month at an average coaching centre. This means we can afford to hire the best tutors and deliver the best coaching and practice materials. Only at PTE Study Hub you will receive a response from an expert tutor within a few hours of your reaching out to them.
Not to mention the time, money, and energy that you save by not having to travel and attend a class! Take advantage of PTE Study Hub and streamline your PTE preparation today!

The money thing (part 2/2) - Daniel Ricciardo
Warnings: SMUT! angst, confrontation... and more SMUT!
This is it, guys! Buuut... I think I'm gonna keep this story going, what do you say? Shall we find out about how shopping with Charlotte goes, and the party, and just how (y/n) handles this new dynamic overall? As always, let me know what you think! Read part 1 here!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you got back at home, you were barely inside the apartment and Daniel was already pushing you against the door, kissing you passionately. You go down the corridor half kissing, half walking, Daniel chasing you all the way. You run to his room and then inside the shower, taking off your sweaty clothes on the process. You guys get under the shower and the feeling of the chill water along with Daniel’s kisses on your skin is just too good.
“You’re unbelievable” he says, letting your feet touch the ground again. You wash each other clean after that, running your hands through each other’s body and memorizing every curve, every detail.
“You’re unbelievable” he says, letting your feet touch the ground again. You wash each other clean after that, running your hands through each other’s body and memorizing every curve, every detail.
After a while, you get out of the shower, dry your hair quickly then wrap yourself in a towel. You go to your toiletry bag on the sink and take your toothbrush out, brushing your teeth while Daniel finished showering. Then you take your hair cream and put some on, your hair is really starting to feel the damage with all this boy’s shampoo, you think. Then you take some skin serum and apply some drops on your face, spreading lightly. Man, you missed skincare and it missed you. Last step: body lotion. Daniel gets out of the shower and you know he's watching you.
“Why you’re pampering yourself all up?” He asked coming behind you and kissing your neck.
“I’m doing what I was supposed to do the last two nights…but got distracted” you smirk at him. He lifts his hands in mock defense. Then you open the towel and start spreading the cream on your stomach, then your legs, then your butt. He’s watching you still, so you smile. “You say you like my skin, well it takes a lot of creaming to maintain it”
“I thought that was my job, love” He says in a low voice from behind me, putting his hands on my hips.
“Not like-” you start but decide it’s not even worthy, he knows what you meant. You just swat him on the shoulder and he laughs, going back to the room.
“By the way” he says putting his head back through the door. “You smell amazing, so finish up and get your ass back in the bed so I can properly cream you up”
“Daniel!” Little shit. He laughs even louder.
When you go back inside the room Daniel is sitting on the bed, looking through his phone. You pass him towards the closet and decide to take a look at the clothes you brought with you, to see if there's anything you could wear to this party tomorrow. What do you even wear to a yacht?
You take a few outfits and place them in front of your body, testing them on the mirror, but nothing seemed appropriate.
"You want a shirt baby?" Daniel asks you out of nowhere.
"Hum? Yeah, sure" you answer him, hanging the clothes back in the closet.
"Are you looking for something for tomorrow? Just buy something with Charlotte" he said simply while putting sweat pants on.
"Yeah... I..." you took a deep breath, "It's just..." you tried to say, but nothing seemed to come out. You were scared he was gonna think you're being ridiculous.
"What?" he looked at you.
"Nothing, never mind" you gave up, putting on his shirt with your underwear and going back to his room. He followed you, wearing nothing but his sweat pants.
"I'm just guessing here, but I have a feeling it's a good one" he started, "It's the money thing, isn't it? You don't want to spend money buying an outfit for this party?"
"It's not that I don't want to, Dan. I just can't afford it!" you said raising your voice tone a bit. He just stared at you for a while. "I don't know if you've noticed, I'm not on a million dollars contract but I'm still living like I was!" you sat down on the bed, eyes filling with water. "I just can't do this anymore, sorry. It's killing me and it's so stupid, so petty, but again, it's not! Cause what would the solution be? You paying for everything? Me just becoming a leech? A gold-digger?" he was watching you quietly, but let out a laugh at that last part.
"Don't laugh! I'm serious!" you continued.
"Baby, listen to yourself. What do you want me to do besides laughing?" he smiled sympathetically at you.
"Well, I'm glad you're finding it amusing because I feel sick everytime the subject comes up. The clothes, restaurants, plane tickets... I can't be living like that, and it's not just that. It's also because I know there's only one way this is going"
"You finally understanding this is ridiculous and accepting the credit card I made on your name months ago?" he said sitting by your side.
"Us not being together anymore. We're just from too different worlds, it's not gonna work. You need someone that can keep up with this lifestyle" you said getting up and walking towards the bathroom.
"No, you're not!" he said pulling you back down to his lap by your waist. "Enough with this bullshit" he said kissing your face and wipping your tears away. "Tell me what the real problem is. This is not about money, money is only a tool, a means to something, we can't let it have this much power over us. There's always more where that came from" you just looked at him. He had a much more healthy relationship with money than you, maybe because he had so much to spare. "This is not about money. You're not greedy, I know you. You're just the polar opposite of it. The most generous person I know. Is that it? You're feeling guilty?"
"I think... kind of. It's not fair, how can I have so much, knowing that most people have never even seen that much money. We’ve spent the average person's paycheck on a meal, Dan!" you said.
"(y/n), baby... it's not your responsibility. You can't carry this weight on you. You already do so much for people, you volunteer and donate all the time... you can't deprive yourself because other people don't have the same opportunity, that wouldn't be fair either" he tried to reason with you.
"But what about you?" you asked.
"What about me?"
"I just... listen, I know, rationally I mean... that I don't handle the idea of money very well. If you must know, I couldn't even take money from my parents as a kid. I just can't help but think it wasn't fair to them and it's not fair to you, to spend it with me. It's yours! You worked hard for it! I’m literally leeching on you!"
"So, you agree? The money is mine, so I can do with it what I please?" he said.
"Yes, but-"
"Why can't I spend it with the person I love most in the world? Huh? What is so wrong with it? Even if I was choosing to spend it on you instead of on myself, which I'm not, why couldn't I?"
"I feel like I'm taking advantage of you"
"Baby, we're taking advantage of this life. I was given this unholy amount of money for doing my dream job. Can you see how rare and fucking blessed this is? I mean, I thought so, until I met you. I thought I knew what a good life was until you were in it. This is a good life, with you enjoying this fucking lottery ticket with me" he said pecking your lips and rubbing your back, while you leaned on him. "Is this why you wouldn't come to London with me?" you looked at him and nodded.
"Sorry about that..."
"No, I'm sorry I didn't push more on the subject earlier. This has been going on for long enough now. It's just money, (y/n). Just it. Just a tool for the wonderful life we lead together. You understand?"
"Yeah"
"Look at me" he said turning your chin to look at him. "Do you really? Will you let me pay for stuff now? Tell me whenever you have an expense or even better, will you accept the credit card I made for you?"
"I don't think that's necessary"
"Please baby. Let's try it my way? Will you use it from now on?" he asked again pecking your lips. "Say yes. Say yes, or I'll give you a minimal monthly spending goal as well" he smiled and you looked at him like he was crazy.
"I'm not comfortable with it"
"Just try, please? You can start by buying something tomorrow for the party" the look on his face changed and you knew he was about to tease you. "If you'd prefer, we can say you're buying something for me... you wanna be my sugar baby?" he laughed.
"Too soon to joke about it" you said but laughed anyway. "Okay" you said after a while, "I'll use it. But you have to promise me you'll tell me if you change your mind"
"You're scared I'll go in debt?"
"I know you would"
"Good. Because I would. For you. But I know you don't need me to, so if we run out of money we'll just be poor together. Good thing you have experience, huh?" he laughed.
"Asshole!" you swatted him on the chest.
"You know I'm joking. But you get it now, don't you? We're lucky enough we don't have to worry about it, so let's not worry about it. It shouldn't even take a second of our day, it doesn't matter. Us, being together and our happiness is what matters. Okay?"
"Okay. Thank you, for being so understanding. Sorry for being... you know"
"I love you. And I don't expect you to simply go on a shopping spree, although I do expect you to buy those plane tickets soon. But the thing is, I'm here for it, I'm here to solve every little obstacle that gets in our way, no matter what, no matter how silly you're being"
"You're being so mature about this" you smirked at him.
"Well, what can I say? Being the perfect human I am, I understand that other humans are not, I'm just humbled that I can guide you on your path of enlightenment" he laughed and you rolled your eyes. "In all seriousness now, you know why is that, don't you?"
"Why? Because you're just better than everyone else?"
"Well, yes. But also because I have it really clear in my mind what really matters. And that's you. Us. It's all that matters to me. Being good for you" he said looking into your eyes.
"I love you, so much. I don't deser-" he cut you out by kissing you deeply and pulling you closer to him.
You moved so you were straddling him now, your arms around his neck and your hands on his hair. His hands that were on your waist, keeping you closer, started to slip down your body, so he was holding your bum.
"I want you" he said against your lips. You smiled and started to grind down against him. You were only wearing his shirt, which was bunched up around your waist, and your underwear, which wasn't the sexiest piece you owned but you didn't think Dan would care. In fact, he didn't seem to care at all for your underwear, cause he was already slipping his hand under you, pushing the thin layer to the side, and sliding his fingers through your lips.
You moaned at the sensation, still sensitive from your adventures early in the shower. "I... Dan..." you begin to say, but couldn't form a full sentence.
"What is it, baby girl? You want to say something?" he whispered against your ear, sucking your earlobe lightly. Then he pressed his pointer and middle finger against your clit, circling them firmly against you and making you moan louder for him.
"I'm still sensitive from early" you said against his lips, laughing a bit.
"You want me to stop?" he asked looking at you deeply.
"No!" you answered almost too fast, making him chuckle. "Don't stop, please"
"Hum... since you asked so nicely" he said sucking on your jaw, then your neck. You took that opportunity to slip your hand down his torso, feeling his chest and abs, and then reaching for him through his sweat pants. He was rock hard already. This man is insatiable. You smiled at the sound he made when you grabbed him lightly.
"I just want to feel you inside me" you said pulling his pants down and out of the way. He lifted you both from the bed slightly to help you take them off, then you grabbed and lined him with your center, sitting down slowly, letting only the head in first.
“Babe, please,” it’s Daniel’s turn to beg now “I need you" and then you sink down on him, feeling all of his length while he bottoms out inside you. He sucks on your sweet spot, muffling the groan that comes out of his mouth.
"Oh my god Dan" you moan, dropping your head back and giving him even more access to your neck. You pull his hair a bit more, fingers clamped down so tightly you're scared you might pull his hair out. You stay like this, feeling him deep inside you, for a while. He pulls away to look you in the eyes and kiss your lips, massaging your tongue with his. It's so intimate, so truthful, like he said, the only thing that matters in the world.
"I love you" he says looking you deep in the eyes. You nod before replying because you want to make sure he knows you know. That you believe and trust him.
"I love you, so much" you say back.
Then you roll your hips, testing out the angle, and it's almost too much to handle. It feels like hours and seconds at the same time, but you find a rhythm together, a pace you can keep sitting on him, while he only worries about kissing you and keeping you both from falling from the bed.
You're sure you'll be feeling sore tomorrow. Actually, you already are. Your legs, tired from the running and all the sex you've been having lately, start to give out and you lose your strength. Luckily, Daniel seems to catch that before you have to say anything, so he brings his hands to your hips and starts to help you move up and down on him.
You sit up slightly, moaning at the different angle he hitting now and he groans, feeling you clench around him. "(y/n)" he moans your name, "baby, I'm go-" he moans, feeling you clench again.
"Me too" you reply.
"Where do want me to? Huh? I'm gonna cum for you baby" you kiss him, feeling your pussy spasm around him, making it even harder for him to keep a steady rhythm.
"Inside me. I need you to come inside me, please, please baby" and there's no time to think, to ask if you're sure. You feel his whole body tensing and his thrusts get sloppier. Then, when you feel the hot liquid spur inside you, he grabs a handful of your ass with one hand and slips his other in between the two of you, flicking your clit rapidly and precisely.
That's all it takes for you to lose it completely, your walls fluttering around him as your body trembles at the intensity of the pleasure.
You both ride your orgasms together, you rolling your hips slower and slower, and him holding you tighter and closer until you stop completely. The only sound being your heavy breathings.
After a while, you pull away to find him already staring at you.
"You are the most beautiful thing I ever laid eyes on" he says to you and you feel the warmth of his words.
"I'm yours. Forever" you say simply and kiss him lightly on the lips.
"I feel like I have so much to lose. It honestly scares the living shit out of me"
"I know what you mean. I feel the exact same, I promise. I don't know how I got so lucky to find you" you say.
"And I, you. But we're just being dumb, right? I guess it's good we know that, but also... that we're not going anywhere, right?" he asks and you can sense there's some insecurity behind his line.
"Right. We're only getting stronger" you say and kiss him again. "I love you, Daniel"
"I love you, so much" he says touching your foreheads. "Let me get something to clean you up, then we can cuddle the rest of the night"
"You're the only guy I know that likes cuddling this much" you smile getting up from him. He hisses a bit at the sensation but gets up right after you.
"You don't have to worry about other guys' preferences" he says rolling his eyes. Yep. If your thing is low self-esteem and money-related issues, his is definitely jealousy and overall insecurity.
"I don't, silly" you peck him in the lips. He seems to relax a bit and when he comes back from the bathroom his phone lights up, he goes to check on it after passing you the towel.
"Charles just texted Charlottes contact. I'll forward it to you, okay?"
"Yep" you answered and it was your phone's turn to light up. "Can I confess something?" you asked him, adjusting your clothes.
"Hum?"
"I'm really excited to hang out with her tomorrow. I kind of miss girl company during the GPs and even when I'm here in Monaco and you're busy" he smiled and put a shirt on.
"Look at you, making friends! How cute"
"Shut up" you playfully pushed him, while you guys climbed into bed. You texted her 'hello' and Daniel's address before locking your phone and adjusting in his arms. There's still a lot to figure out and you weren't sure you'd be able to handle the money thing any better. You hoped so, after all, you didn't know how much more Daniel can be understanding. But you could think about all that another time. Right now life was good in the arms of the man you loved and loved you back. You felt safe.

Rant about CollegeBoard for all US High School students:
The way society is designed makes it so the majority of people are told that the only way to succeed is to go to college, with high schools strongly pushing this narrative. But, to get into college to begin with, you need to take an SAT (or ACT) test, which costs quite a bit of money. The corporation that produces the SAT makes quite a bit of money from that alone, since they offer one of two such tests. Add to this the amount of money they make with test retakes, costs it take to send it to each college you want to apply for, and study materials, and they are making bank.
Beyond this, CollegeBoard also seems to recognize that college as a whole is expensive, and as a result they try to “help” us by creating AP classes where students take a college-level course to prepare for a 100 dollars exam in order to (maybe, since not every college accepts it) earn college credit. Again, CollegeBoard profits even more off of the study materials they sell and the costs it takes to send the AP scores to each college (since only the first is free, beyond that you need to pay for it.) And many students only take AP classes to get credit in hope of not having to spend so much on college- however CollegeBoard seems to exploit this very concept.
The issue here is that our education system is allowing and even encouraging this. At school you can get a higher gpa for taking AP classes, and colleges are the ones to accept SAT and AP scores.
The most important issue this brings up is how it affects people in poorer districts or with less wealth, which often has a huge portion of people of color. Schools need access to teachers and resources to teach AP classes, and if the school doesn’t have access to that, the kids there are put at a disadvantage compared to the rest of the nation. A richer family could pay to have their kid retake the SAT as many times as they want with a private tutor, and take as many APs without worrying about the cost, but that isn’t the same for poorer families.
CollegeBoard is helping encourage a society that is divided heavily by wealth- since kids with higher SATs and GPAs are the ones who make college, and are likely already set for life if they are wealth enough- while profiting heavily from it.

r e q u e s t: Hi !! I love your writing ❤️ I want to know if it’s possible for you to write something with Quinn fabray x reader ? They are together in quarantine in New York with Rachel, Kurt and Santana. Also Reader and Santana are best friends. Can you add humor and fluff please ? Thanks ☺️
Quinn and Y/N were walking hand in hand through the streets of New York. They had planned a little getaway together to the big city. It was mainly Quinn’s idea, she wanted to propose to her high school sweetheart— Y/N. But most of their trip, and thus Quinn’s plan, fell apart due to the rapid spread of the Covid virus. Their tickets for Broadway had been refunded. The cute tearoom where Quinn had planned to propose to the girl— and where the two women had shared their first kiss during Glee club’s Nationals in New York— was closed down due to the virus. Most of the things Quinn had planned out for the proposal got refunded, except for the hotel. Quinn decided that she’d postpone her proposal to another time. She didn’t want to propose to Y/N like this. She deserved a proper proposal, like the one Quinn had planned out in her head for years. Quinn tried not to let it get her down but she found it hard to lie to Y/N about the frown on her face.
“I know it’s different.... but... I’m still glad we’re here.” Y/N brought their intertwined hands together and planted a kiss on Quinn’s knuckles. “New York always brings me back to high school.”
“Remember when we broke the bed during our pillow fight? And, oh God, how Tana fell off it when you smacked her across the face?” Y/N shook her head in amusement, “But the thing I will never forget is when we shared our first kiss in that adorable tearoom near the hotel.”
Quinn gave her a distant smile.
“And remember how panicked I was when Mr. Schuester walked by the window and I thought he had seen us out of the hotel room?”
Quinn hummed softly, rubbing her thumb across Y/N’s hand. She remembered every little detail about that morning, which made this all so much harder.
Y/N came to a halt and stood in front of Quinn, which caused the latter to bump into her.
“Oh, baby-”
“Why are you so quiet? I don’t like it.” Y/N seemed genuinely worried.
Quinn looked at the ground for a second and held her temple, trying to come up with a good enough lie.
“I-” She looked back up at her girlfriend and her expression immediately softened. Whenever Y/N was worried— particularly about Quinn — her eyebrows would furrow and she’d pout her lips ever so slightly.
Quinn sighed, “I’m just disappointed that we couldn’t visit it this time. I feel like a visit to New York is never complete without a high tea at our place.” Y/N smiled softly when Quinn grabbed her cheeks to comfort her.
“You know what else makes our trip complete?”
Y/N grinned like an idiot, immediately knowing what she was hinting at.
Quinn smiled,
“Let’s go pick up our stuff from the hotel first and then drive there.”
✫彡
“Wait, let me scare her.”
Quinn shook her head in amusement as her girlfriend plastered herself against the wall next to the front door of the apartment. Quinn knocked a few times before the door slid open.
“Oh my God! Quinn! It’s so good to see you!” Kurt’s voice rang through the hallway. He quickly hugged her before calling Santana.
“Quinn’s here!”
He turned back to the blond in front of him, “Are you alone?” Kurt was in disbelief, knowing very well that Quinn and her girlfriend were inseparable. Quinn quickly looked at Y/N through her peripheral and saw her nod her head.
“...I guess so-”
“Wait... you two are still together, right?” Concern filled Kurt’s voice, but before Quinn could reply, Santana appeared out of the bathroom.
“Ha! You bet they are.” She smirked at her friend, “Wait... where’s the fiancée?”
Quinn’s eyes widened and she immediately faked a long, awkward laughter. “Good one, San.”
Kurt looked between the two girls in confusion, and even Santana seemed lost.
He let out an awkward chuckle. “Am I missing something?”
Santana got the hint after Quinn shot her another look, “Oh- that’s just an inside joke of ours.”
“Y/N! Oh my God!” Someone squealed.
The three turned around and saw Rachel stand in the hallway, two large bags in her hand. She had seen Y/N hide behind the wall when she walked up to their frontdoor.
“Damn it, Berry.” Y/N groaned. “You ruined my surprise.”
Santana snorted, “Well, I knew you were somewhere. Quinn gets rashes when you’re not within a radius of 16 feet.” She opened her arms wide when Y/N revealed herself. “C’mere, I missed you.”
The two best friends shared a sweet hug while Rachel clumsily carried her bags inside.
“What’s up with that?” Kurt turned to her.
“Oh- well, now that our shows are postponed to God-knows-when... I thought I’d bring the stuff from my dressing room back home.”
“Why’d you bring this coffee machine home? We already have one.”
“Yeah, but I don’t like that one.”
“Rachel! We have no more countertop space... or available plugs!”
He gasped when he saw the brand, “These coffee pods are thirty dollars per package?!”
Santana rolled her eyes and walked Quinn and Y/N to the living room.
“So...while we let Bert and Ernie bicker... what’s up? No trouble in paradise?” She turned to the couple, hoping to cryptically find out why Quinn hadn’t proposed.
"I can’t believe you think we’d be able to part ways.” Y/N joked back and cuddled up against her girlfriend, who shook her head at Santana to let her know she’d tell her later.
“What do you girls want to drink? Or do you want some of Rachel’s exquisite coffee?” Kurt asked from the kitchen.
“Can I try a sip first?”
Quinn smiled at the childish antics of her girlfriend. Rachel gestured the girl to come over, which left the two ex-cheerios alone to talk.
Santana leaned in closer so that no one would hear,
“What happened?! Did you freak out at the last minute? Tell me you didn’t...”
Quinn sighed and rubbed her temples, “No, my whole proposal fell into pieces thanks to this freaking virus.”
“People are dying, Q.”
She sighed, “Gah, I know. It’s just- I’ve had this all planned out in my head for years. This was how it was supposed to go. And now everything is ruined.”
Santana gave her a sympathetic smile and squeezed her knee. “And there’s no alternative that you’d like?”
Quinn shrugged and shook her head softly.
“Well, if I may speak freely... we’re the only people who know Y/N in and out... which means that we also both know that she wouldn’t care if you went on one knee in a clown suit or if you wrote your big question in the sky with a plane...” Santana looked back to see if they were paying attention to their hushed conversation, but Y/N was sitting on the counter, her feed dangling while she took gentle sips of the expensive coffee. A small smile appeared on both girl’s faces.
“The only thing she cares for is that you are the one to ask her.”
Quinn’s eyes were filled with tears as she came to the realisation.
“Thanks, Santana.”
“Anytime.”
The two hugged until they heard Y/N run up to them.
“I want in!”
✫彡
A few hours had passed and all five of them were sprawled about the couch, their take-away food on the coffee table. Y/N’s head rested against Quinn’s chest while her legs were put on Santana’s lap. Quinn mindlessly played with the strands of Y/N’s hair.
It had become a tradition for them to watch ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ every time they visited their friends in New York.
“This scene breaks my heart every damn time.” Y/N mumbled and threw a napkin at the TV when Holly left the cat on the curb in the rain.
“She goes back for him later, though.” Kurt spoke.
“I don’t care. Damage is done.”
‘People do fall in love, people do belong to each other. Because that’s the only chance anybody has for real happiness.’ Paul, one of the characters spoke.
Quinn put her head against Y/N’s at hearing that. She was filled with so much joy at having this wonderful girl in her arms.
“I’ve been carrying this thing around for months,” Paul grabbed a wedding ring box out of his coat which caused Quinn’s mind to wander off. Even though she had seen this movie a dozen times, she was still surprised to be reminded of her ruined proposal.
Before she could make herself feel miserable about it again, Rachel’s phone rang. She quickly excused herself but motioned for them to not pause the movie.
Rachel walked to the living area after a few minutes, her expression tense and filled with worry.
“Guys...”
Kurt paused the movie as the girls turned to Rachel.
“We might have a tiny problem...Well... a big one, actually.”
Everyone got the memo that it was something serious and they sat up.
“One of the ensemble members has been tested positive for the virus... which means that everyone— crew and cast — needs to go into quarantine at home... and that includes everyone they have been in contact with... so that would mean that we have to stay inside for the next two weeks too...”
The bunch on the couch took a moment to take the news in until Santana shot up,
“I am not going to spend two weeks, non-stop, in here! I already go insane with too much of you as it is. I usually can deal with curtains as walls, your stubble in the sink or your god-awful annoying vocal exercises when I’m trying to sleep but that’s because I get home from work, eat and head straight to bed. But I will literally kill someone if I have to go through that all day long. I was supposed to see Brittany this weekend but hey, thanks a lot, Berry.”
“This is hardly Rachel’s fault. It’s the responsible and safe thing to do. You wouldn’t want Brittany to get it, right?”
Santana avoided eye-contact, but it was clear that she agreed with what Kurt said.
“Wow, I feel so unwanted right now.” Y/N mumbled out, slightly joking. “You get to spend your quarantine with us!”
Santana gave her a tight-lipped, apologetic smile, “I know, that’s the only good thing about this.”
Rachel saw the gloomy looks on everyone’s face. “They won’t tell us who it is for privacy reasons, but I usually don’t hang out with the ensemble anyway so I hope I’m safe. I’m so sorry, you guys.”
Kurt stood up with a sigh, “I guess I’ll go find the spare mattress then. You two can take my bed.” He was about to walk off but pointed a finger at Quinn and Y/N. “No sex... in my bed.”
Quinn pursed her lips, not that happy with Kurt’s rule.
“You were the leader of the celibacy club, you can last two weeks without sex. Besides, there are no walls so I will know when you break my rule.”
“Like that’s ever stopped you and Blaine before.” Santana rolled her eyes. “But great. We’ll have five, sexually frustrated people cooped up together in a tiny apartment with no walls for privacy, no natural light and no entertainment. Someone’s definitely going to get murdered... by me.” She added.
“My vote’s on Rachel...” Y/N mumbled out. Santana stuck out her hand behind her back for Y/N to high five.
“I’m just glad we decided to check out of our hotel this morning and bring our stuff to you guys... because no matter how much I love you all, I am not going to wear any of your spare panties.” Quinn stood up to go and help Kurt.
“You could just go commando.” Y/N shrugged, “I wouldn’t mind.”
Quinn sent her a teasing look and winked.
“I would say get a room but yeah, we don’t have any...so...” Rachel shrugged.
“I can’t believe we’re going to have to do this.” Santana sighed and walked off to her part of the apartment.
“Hey- but, look at it this way. We’ll have two weeks of non-stop karaoke, binge-watching and eating junk food. Doesn’t that sound great?” Rachel tried again but no one replied.
 ✫彡
One week done, one week to go.
For Quinn and Y/N, this week had consisted of a lot of cuddling and making out in bed, watching silly movies and cooking with whatever they could find in the pantry.
Santana had surprisingly been on her best behaviour, though they let her be whenever she had a ‘don’t-talk-to-me’ look on her face. Y/N suspected that Brittany had probably told her to be nice and to make the best out of it, but she also liked to think that it was because of her presence. She hadn’t been able to visit her best friend often now that they lived so far away. But it was like old times whenever they saw each other again. However, Quinn had caught herself feeling jealous that the two women had spent that much time together. But her jealousy washed away when she saw the best friends joke or laugh like they used to when they were still 16 year olds. It warmed her heart.
Kurt blended in perfectly and knew exactly when to give someone space or when to approach them. He and Quinn made sure there was food on the table and he had ordered a lot of, mostly useless, stuff online to try and keep everyone entertained. The twister game had been everyone’s favourite so far. And the effort he put into his bingo night was even too wholesome for Santana to make a comment about it, no matter how bad she wanted to after getting a rubber duck as present when she won.
Rachel did her best to help wherever she could and she was, surprisingly, a lot of fun to have around when things got boring. Though, yes, the daily vocal exercises got a bit out of hand when she woke them up belting high notes at 7.30. Santana was close to killing her had it not been for Quinn and Y/N holding her back. Santana wasn’t intimidating at all with her bed head, tangled up hair and red PJs and Y/N couldn’t help but laugh.
Quinn had been over the moon, so to say. She got to spend two whole weeks with the love of her life. Yes, they lived together but that was different. Now, there was no schedule or work to interrupt them or cloud their minds. It was just them, enjoying being in each other’s arms. For a lot of couples the lockdown and quarantine would probably be make or break, but Quinn hadn’t been worried about a negative outcome at all. When you’ve been together for that long, and been through hell and back, you know you will persevere together. The company of Kurt and Rachel was fun, and it was certainly good to have Santana around again but Quinn couldn’t help but wish it had just been Y/N and herself in quarantine. If that had been the case, she knew they wouldn’t just spend their days only cuddling in bed.
Y/N was the only one that was visibly annoyed and on edge. She would roll her eyes or sigh in annoyance if things went wrong or if someone said something she didn’t like. Quinn had caught her staring out of the window, to which Y/N explained that she hoped if she looked hard and long enough she might see the dragon that would save her. She wasn’t used to sit around and do nothing and was bored out of her mind.
Quinn and Y/N were lying in Kurt’s bed with their legs tangled together. Quinn held her girl close to her chest. She squeezed her and inhaled the scent of her freshly washed hair. The window was slightly open, causing a chill breeze to slightly move the curtains.
“Now I’m sure of it...” Y/N started, getting Quinn’s attention, “I’m never going to commit a felony.”
Quinn let out a breathy chuckle, “Were you questioning it before?”
“I can’t imagine being stuck like this for years.”
“Well, you still have access to the internet, great food, your friends...and your wonderful girlfriend.”
Y/N looked up at Quinn and grinned. She grabbed the girl’s cheek as she kissed her.
“Can’t believe I’m about to say this but I’m actually really thankful we got stuck in quarantine.”
Y/N subtly arched a questioning eyebrow.
“It made me realise two things— too much of Rachel Berry will be the end of me-” Y/N let out a breathy chuckle at that, “-and...”
Quinn stared into her girlfriend’s eyes, was she really going to do this now? Yes. Yes, she definitely was. This was the-
“Oh my God!” Kurt’s exciting squeal filled the apartment, startling both girls. They heard Santana shush him and it suddenly got very quiet. Too quiet...
Y/N tiptoed out of the bed in her PJ’s and fluffy socks and opened the curtain to see Santana and Kurt staring directly at her. She had clearly caught them with something, but with what? Quinn appeared behind Y/N and noticed the jacket that Santana was trying to hide behind their backs.
Kurt noticed she was doing a poor job at it and snatched the jacket out of Santana’s hands to hold it up to his face, admiring it like it was a newborn baby. “Oh my, it’s so pretty! Where did you buy this?”
Quinn quickly glanced at Y/N, who didn’t seem to notice what was happening. “Guys,” She groaned, “I thought something happened, you interrupted my peace.” She walked back, irritated, and closed the curtain in a swift motion.
“Why were you snooping in my stuff?!” Quinn hissed and plucked her jacket out of his hands.
“Um, excuse me? When where you going to tell me that you plan on proposing to her!?” Kurt whispered, enthusiasm clear in his voice.
Quinn didn’t reply and instead searched the pockets. “Where is it?”
“Here,” Santana gave her the jewellery box. “It fell out when Kurt was organising the coat rack.”
“Why haven’t you done it yet?”
“I had everything planned but the virus ruined it. It was suppose to happen the day we came here, but our favourite tearoom was shut down and so were all the other activities I had planned.” She sighed, “I was about to do it just now, in the heat of the moment, but then you two interrupted that. Whatever. I’m glad I didn’t. She deserved better than that.”
Santana crossed her arms, not happy with the fact that Quinn had apparently totally forgotten what the two of them had talked about a week prior.
“Damn, I wish you would’ve done it just now. That would mean the end of wicked witch Y/N.” Rachel joined their conversation. “Oh, so you can make fun of me but not the other way around? It was just a joke.” She added and raised her arms when she saw the looks Quinn and Santana were giving her.
“Okay, I know everyone’s feeling a bit irritated, but it’s just one more-”
The bell rang.
“Don’t tell me you bought us all matching boho outfits for your Mamma Mia night. I’m not wearing it.” Santana crossed her arms.
“I didn’t order anything?”
Y/N appeared again and opened the door.
“Thank you so much. Here, keep this.”
She closed it, walked over to the kitchen table and went to put everything down, completely ignoring the rest. She noticed the silence and turned around.
“Oh- Don’t worry, I ordered for everyone.”
Quinn eyed the table and recognised the familiar logo on the napkins.
“Baby-”
“I felt so bad that we couldn’t go to our place this time. So when I found out that they started doing deliveries this week, I knew I wanted to order their high tea menu. I got the one we usually get... to make you feel better...”
Quinn wrapped her arms around the girl’s waist from behind and put her chin on her shoulder. Y/N leaned into her touch.
“This is the sweetest thing ever. I love you.”
Y/N kissed Quinn’s forehead and sat down, immediately grabbing a brownie.
“You need to wife her up, fast.” Santana whispered into Quinn’s ear when she walked by.
And she would, when the moment was right.

Kurt was watching a movie with Blaine through face time, Rachel was practicing some lines and Santana was face timing Brittany. Quinn and Y/N had promised to do the dishes, but Quinn ushered the girl to take a nap on the couch when she saw how tired her girl looked.
Quinn took quick glances towards the living room every few seconds and saw that Y/N had finally fallen asleep on the couch. With a faint smile on her face, she grabbed a blanket and tucked Y/N in. One of Rachel’s dvd’s, The Sound of Music, was still playing in the background. She slowly took the remote out of Y/N’s hands and turned it off.
“You’re the best and most precious thing in my life. I love you.” She bent down and caressed her cheek.
She widened her eyes when an idea suddenly struck her mind.

“What do we sing?”
“No... no singing proposal. Y/N would hate that.”
“I loved it.” Kurt shrugged.
“So, then what’s the plan?”
“Listen up...”

Their quarantine was over and no one had gotten sick. No one from Rachel’s crew or cast had gotten it either. Brittany and Blaine came over as soon as they could. They were over the moon to hear about Quinn wanting to propose and agreed to help.
“Love, what are you doing?”
Y/N sat on her suitcase, desperately trying to get it closed.
“I thought I had gained weight, not my clothes.” She grunted, “If we want to get home before the dark we should drive off by-”
“Actually... I had something planned before we go home.”
“Oh?”
“Is it okay if we leave as soon as you can? Bring a jacket, I don’t want you to get cold.”
Quinn left Y/N to get ready and anxiously walked into the kitchen where the rest were whispering words of encouragement to her. Quinn knew how much they had loved each other for the past years, but something inside her was still very insecure if Y/N would say yes to her question... to her. What would she do with herself if Y/N didn’t accept her ring?
“She’s going to love it.” Santana hugged her tight but quickly let go when Y/N opened the curtain.
“Why are you all looking at me?”
“Because you look lovely.” Quinn grabbed her hand. They all sent her thumbs up as she took one last glance over her shoulder.

Y/N was eating a pretzel that Quinn had bought her in the park. The two were walking in a comfortable silence. Quinn glanced to the girl beside her, hoping that Y/N would catch on on what was happening soon.
They had walked almost the very same route that they walked on that morning in New York many, many years ago. Their end stop would be at the edge of the park, where Santana and Brittany were now probably busy setting their high tea up.
“Why are pretzels so much better in New York?”
“Eh, I don’t know. I’m not really a pretzel girl.”
The park was normally crowded with locals and tourists, but they had barely seen a handful of people so far.
“Wasn’t this where we sat with the kids from Glee?”
Quinn smiled softly.
Finally.
“Yeah, it is, actually.”
“Oh- Well, everything from that trip is very blurry in my mind, except for our first kiss, of course. I can even still tell you the colour of your coat.”
Quinn gave her a playful smile and grabbed Y/N’s hand. “Which was?”
“Red.” She booped her nose with the end of her pretzel, earning a giggle from Quinn.
She grinned softly, “Remember that snow globe I bought for you? With New York’s skyline?”
Y/N gasped, “I loved that thing.”
The two laughed, remembering that Y/N had dropped it when they rushed to cross the street only half an hour after buying it.
“Then you bought me a couple others throughout the years but none of them have ever been able to have the same value to me. Sorry not sorry.”
Quinn smiled to herself, hoping she was about to change that in a few minutes. She saw Santana and Brittany sitting on the grass in the distance and guided Y/N to the two. They left without saying a word, but not before giving the two enthusiastic but knowing smiles. Santana wiggled her eyebrows but Britt pulled her away.
“I am so confused right now.” Y/N hesitantly sat down on the blanket. “Why were they here?”
“I asked them to help me set up this little picnic so it could be a surprise. I know you ordered the high tea last week but I wanted to end our trip off like this, with just us. Also, we’ve spent the last two weeks in NYC without even a day outside. I didn’t want to leave before we went somewhere. I hope you like it.”
“Like it? I can never get enough of their cheesecake bites.”
Quinn smiled nervously, trying to hide how stressed she felt. She poured the juice in their glasses and fed Y/N a bite of a scone with butter and peach marmalade.
“How does that taste?”
Y/N threw her head back and groaned. “I’m going to miss their food.”
Quinn barely replied, too focused on how she was going to bring it up. Backing out now felt like a good way to calm her nerves but she knew she shouldn’t. Not only because Santana would kill her if she did, but also because there would never be a more perfect moment than now.
“Quinn?”
“Uh-Yeah, love?”
“What is this?” Y/N repeated.
Quinn’s eyes widened when she saw the wrapped up package Y/N had grabbed out of the basket.
“Oh- I... that...-” She sighed, “Screw it.” She went to sit on her knees and ushered Y/N to open it.
“For me?”
Quinn nodded, a big smile on her face.
“Quinnie... you-”
“Open it, my love.”
Y/N removed the wrapping paper and gasped when she saw what it was. It was a handmade snow globe, made in a mason jar. The New York skyline was glued to the bottom of it with a laminated picture of the two of them that they took during their first visit to New York. (Thank God Kurt was into a crafty phase during the second week of quarantine).
“I’m not the best at crafts but I just thought-”
“I love it.” Y/N beamed from ear to ear and her smile only widened when the snow inside of it fell onto the skyline.
“This is the most thoughtful gift someone has ever given me.”
“I’m glad you love it.” Quinn grabbed Y/N’s hand and softly moved it around so that the bottom of the snow globe was now facing up. Y/N furrowed her eyebrows until she realised what was scribbled down onto a piece of paper at the bottom. Quinn put the snow globe down and grabbed both of Y/N’s hands in her own, brushing her thumbs against the girl’s knuckles.
“I must admit that I thought what I’m about to say a million times over for the past days and I imagined what I would say to you in this moment for years—but truth be told, I kind of forgot all of that because of the nerves,” Quinn let out a chuckle, “To be honest, I have always known that you were the only girl I wanted to be with in this life. I don’t know what it was, but we’ve just had this instant gravitation towards each other. I know I wasn’t always the kindest to you in the beginning yet you still helped me through everything. The pregnancy, the accident... Now I can say all this cheesy shit about how you and I bring the best out of each other and how much love we have for one another but I think I don’t need to say that. We both know how much our relationship means to us. New York has always been a special place to me since it reminds me of why and how we fell in love. Which is why I wanted to do this here. This is were it all began. Now, I had everything planned months ago but... the situation changed and well... yeah. I had to adjust. At first, I wanted to postpone it all. Until I realised that I couldn’t wait any longer. Y/N, you are my everything. I want to be by your side until eternity. I want to be your person for as long as I can. I want to love and care for you for as long as you want me to.”
She let out a shaky breath.
“So I guess...what I’m trying to say here is...” She grabbed the box out of her pocket, opened it and presented it to Y/N. “Would you like to marry me?”
Y/N looked at the box in shock, she hadn’t made eye contact with Quinn ever since she had presented her with the ring in her hand.
The silence lasted only for a few seconds but it felt like minutes to Quinn, who slowly lowered her hands.
Y/N suddenly let out a sob, then another. She jumped onto Quinn and wrapped her arms around her neck.
“Yes.” She said through her sobs. Quinn let out a gasp of relief and squeezed the girl in her arms, letting her own tears fall freely now.
“Oh-” Y/N groaned and let go of her embrace. “I stepped into the scones...” She pouted and looked at her marmalade stained knee. Quinn laughed through her tears, realising this was exactly why she had asked this girl to marry her.
Y/N forgot it immediately the moment she locked eyes with her fiancée. She held her tight and kissed her like she never had before.
They let go like two love-sick puppies when they heard all of their friends approach. The newly engaged couple was radiating.
“I love you, so much.”
