this roleplay storyline went from valleygirlhalo appearing to have mean girl beef with q!bagi, then q!bagi visiting “barbie labs fabulous” where she contracted barbie disease. she sees pink. q!bagi needed medical treatment for it, and had an appointment with doctovo and assistant “q!nurseboyhalo” so it suddenly turned into medical rp. they then beat her over the head with a wrench, assumed multiple personas, and drugged her with mushrooms. q!bagi on mushrooms is a cop, and doctovo + nurseboyhalo’s shady past came to light. she took them both to court, now it is courtroom rp. richas is the judge and has a pet dog that’s named badboyhalo. nurseboyhalo is defending doctovo’s use of mushrooms and proceeded to bribe the judge with diamonds. q!bagi is twerking to the judge.

Am I one of the only person/crows who is a bit scared for this Purgatory rescue mission because:

1- q!Cellbit and q!Baghera have almost lost their sanity and have possibly been manipulated by The Watcher, not to mention that they both think their children are dead!

2- Eggs are coming on the mission!

3- q!Phil is basically at war with the purgatory workers and could kill the eggs or kidnap q!Philza!

So yeah, I’m nervous of how this will go but I have been trying to comfort myself that outside of Rp Cellbit and Baghera know that Richas and Pomme are alive but still,

It late at night I should be asleep but I wanted to weigh in on the whole platonic and Romantic front. First off, q!Missa stated he has romantic feeling. I think that prefect for Missa character I mean you can really tell he's tapping into those fanfic feeling. But it is also fine that in turn q!Philza feeling stay platonic. (I've said this once before ccPhilza character is more of a persona than an actual rp character. It is why some of his rp is the way that it is. When characters are persona some stuff that would be treated as lol haha rp is seem as boundary crossing and weird. That is not to say if Philza was talked to before hand he would not go for it. This is just me making assumptions based on previous but idk this man personally so take all of this with so much salt.)

CcPhilza has been known to fall in line with some bits. An I hope he doubles down on and returns Missa feeling. But I would understand if he turned down q!missa. An kept his end platonic. Everything stays the same but he is simply not crossing the realm of I love you.

BUT I am a firm believer in feelings that goes beyond simple terms of Platonic and Romantic. That feels way more fitting for the death duo. The "I would wait centuries for you," "I would scorch the earth for you." "Speak now and I will follow you into the pits of hell." "For you the world."

The unyeilding devotion, that makes the very soul quiver. This is could be the biggest win that the Deathduo has the chance to live up to their name.

Q: Where did the idea of the comic come from?

I guess to answer this it comes with a short story. When it came to mpreg I was always kinda nervous about expressing my love for it. Ky made me more comfortable with it and I asked him if I could draw is persona pregnant.

He said yes and when I drew it, it gave me a idea for a story that ky and I did a RP for it and well the comic was made.

hello firesnap! in your opinion what makes the best q!Wilbur design 🎤

Oh gosh. I'm gonna be honest I haven't thought a lot about q!Wilbur design. Hmmm. So I think a big part of his character, when we did see him, was that he tried to appear as non-threatening as possible. Like, whether that was more of an image thing or not could be argued (seeing how quickly he agreed to help Quackity and the whole almost defacing a child's grave thing), but he definitely tried to be congenial to the general populace. I think then what makes the best character designs are ones that embrace that sort of image he's wanting to push on other characters.

So I'd go for like... a softer version of Wilbur's normal RP persona. Glasses. Pale yellow sweater or maybe, as a cheeky reference to the touring, do a white button up. If you're going to give him a jacket make sure it's not a trench coat. Do more a short style.

I do think a big part of what makes a good q!Wilbur design is making sure he looks also, just at the edges, a little frazzled and unprepared. Maybe frays on his coat, or a shirt that's missing a button at the top, or a rip on the knee of his pants, hair that's just a tad too messy. Just something that plays into how his character seems to be a little out of his depth whenever he appears.

I don't really like the long hair designs, but that's personal preference and not for any character reason.

I don't really like the ones with a lot of blatant band references either, I like keeping it vague for RP reasons, but yeah, make it look like some guy with some dirt on his boots. He travels, and shouldn't look too clean.

went ahead and wrote up a little thing on the c!/cc! divide since it was on my mind

on the c!/cc! divide

the c!/cc! divide was an idea that was mostly popularized during the DSMP era, to deal with the separation between the streamers and their characters. RPF was Bad, of course, but these were roleplay characters! Yes, they were fictionalized versions of the streamer personas, (which were in and of themselves fictionalized versions of the real people), but did that make them fair game? to explain, i have to go into the layers of separation between the real life person, and the characters they play.

the first layer is the real life person. they are the ones editing the videos, they are the ones going grocery shopping to buy more milk, they are the ones paying taxes. we the audience don't get to see this person, and that's good (most of the time, at least)

the second layer is their persona- who they are in front of the camera. this is the version of themselves that they show us, the audience, and is on some level a character they play. of course (as we have seen to devastating results in several cases), this persona is something of a lie, and should Not be taken as perfectly representative of the Real Guy- like our own online personas, this layer is a performance, and can only show the streamer in the way they choose to be seen.

the third layer is the Character, and is individual to each series. it is the version of the streamer persona unique to the server they are from, and this ranges a Lot due to the improvised nature of most popular SMPs. sometimes, these Characters are planned beforehand and given different personalities and priorities than the Real Guy or their Persona, but this is not a requirement (especially since, again, most popular RP servers are improvised- oftentimes the characters only truly differentiate from the streamer persona After the roleplay's already begun)

the reason for the ambiguity in the Character layer (and why the layer exists at all!) is because in the end, these streamers/youtubers are Entertainers, and they're here to tell us a Story. whether that story is planned out on purpose or unfolds through chance and luck and reaction, whether it's a fully scripted tale of heroism and tragedy or a bunch of friends dicking around with no plans, their platform (and for many, their paycheck) depends on the ability to make a compelling story out of it. this is also why no matter what, no matter how thin the separation between character or persona or even the real person, we still refer to what we see in their videos as their characters- because in the end, they're constructs in a story.

typically, the labels c! and cc! are used for the convenience of fandom, because in most cases the name of the Character and the Persona are the same. this distinction emerged and was popularized during the Dream SMP era, and has remained in popular use since. (cc! stands for Content Creator and c! stands for either character or cubito, both meaning the same thing)

to better explain how the c!/cc! labels are used, i'll use the streamer Quackity as an example.

cc!Quackity is how we refer to both the streamer persona quackity and the Real Guy Alexis (although we usually just combine the two unless the separation between them is actively relevant, since all we see of the Real Guy is the persona anyways) (also i won't be using his irl name again)

c!Quackity is the character Real Guy!quackity played in the Dream SMP, who was Vice President of L'Manberg, and ran the Las Nevadas Casino.

q!Quackity is a character that Real Guy Quackity plays/played on the QSMP, who is separate from both c!quackity and cc!quackity (idk as much abt q!quackity sorry)

and ElQuackity is a character that Real Guy Quackity plays/played on the QSMP, who is separate from c!quackity, cc!quackity, and q!quackity, and is not referred to with the c! or q! modifiers because he has a different name than his QSMP counterpart and streamer persona, so neither is necessary to tell who you're talking about.

Some Additional Notes:

this language evolved as a response to the ambiguity that comes from the characters and actors behind them having the same names, and the characters being variably fictionalized versions of the actors anyways.

it's like dnd, if everyone at your table was using their own names for their characters

these distinctions are different from the cc end of things, which is also why the characters and personas usually have the same names- to the ccs, both are just The Character I'm Playing

the c! modifiers are also used to denote which server we're talking about, even if we're talking the same characters (for instance, even though Princess Gem of Dawn from empires smp season 2 and Gem The Elf from hermitcraft season 9 are canonically the same character, they're referred to separately)

if there's any distinction we can use between cubitos that isn't c!, we tend to default to that one (i.e. i don't call fWhip from empires smp season 1 c!fWhip or e!fWhip, because i can say Count fWhip instead)

i'd be willing to bet that, although we generally use the same terms due to high levels of overlap, and although i haven't actually looked into it, that there is a significant difference between how we refer to primarily YouTube servers vs. primarily livestreamed servers.

we also have a fandom culture of not using the cc's Real Life Names unless that's what they use talking to us (i.e. we use Joe Hills' full name because that's how he introduces himself, we use Martyn InTheLittleWood's (Martyn Littlewood) first name but not his last even though we know it, and we don't use Mumbo Jumbo's or BDoubleO100's names, first or last, at all, even though we know both). this is partially out of courtesy and partially because we engage with them primarily in the context of their job and referring to the Real Life Guys feels like following your teacher to the grocery store.

this also has a Lot of significance in terms of shipping, because attitudes towards RPF (Real-Person Fiction) have historically been very negative in these spaces (ESPECIALLY in the 2019-2021 era GOOD LORD), and it's extremely useful to have a way to separate the statements "oh impulse and bdubs were such a sweet couple in double life, i love shipping impdubs!" and "I think the Real Life Guys Scott and John should leave their wives and children and get gay married to each other so they can kiss sloppy style" (bc even if you don't care about RPF at all those are Very Different Statements)

I love them all for different reasons. If I absolutely had to pick one I would say Alastor. But, man, it's hard to pick favorites.

5. is there a muse you really want to try? if yes: what’s stopping you?

That would be Angel Dust! A long time ago this was an Alastor only rp blog and one year for April Fool's Day I decided to change it to an Angel blog instead. I surprisingly had a lot of fun writing him!

The main thing stopping me is I really like being able to focus on a character and I already have two at this point. It took a long time for me to decide to add Charlie. I'm super glad that I did add her but I just don't want things to get out of hand by adding more, I guess.

6. is roleplaying the only writing-based hobby you have, or are there other things you like to write hobbies you have?

Roleplaying is the only writing based hobby I have. But I do have other hobbies! I love video games and creating art. I'm currently playing Persona Q on the 3DS and you can check out some of my art here if you're interested!

I also like to read and watch stuff on streaming services. I'm currently reading 'Out of the Blue' a really cheesy love story about a teenage guy and a teenage merman who fall in love. And I started watching The Orville on Hulu! It's really great.

I have a few questions for you today because I CRAVE THEORIES

1. cc!Sam once hinted that something else happened after Dream killed him but before he left the prison, what if anything do you think that could be? (My theory is nothing suuuper sinister, just unpaid labor to modify the prison tech + some more classy insults)

2. Dream's revenge on Q... what will that look like?

1. ~~this fic has been in progress for ages~~ I would be surprised if Dream hurt him or touched him at all. I think all Dream did was speak to him. He promised he’d let Sam go, and that’s exactly what he’ll do. He’s extracted his pound of flesh, and now they’re totally cool :) Friends :)

2. Whatever the plan is—if there’s any plan at all, which I am deeply skeptical about—it won’t survive contact with Quackity. Dream didn’t even know which weapon he wanted to kill Sam with, even after he’d had his mind made up for days that he was going to kill Sam and let him go.

Dream has no fucking clue what he WANTS his revenge will look like. He can’t stop thinking about the concept of it—but only in how it intersects with the expectations of his persona. How Quackity’s expecting it, how everyone on the server who knows what Quackity did to him is expecting it too, and how Dream is nothing if not a man who cultivates those expectations. Which will impress them all more? If Dream takes bloody, annihilating vengeance, or if he brushes it off like it was nothing? Which will make Quackity squirm more?

He also quite literally can’t think about it. He can’t situate his own response or his own emotions or his own desires in the equation. Does he want Quackity dead? Maybe. Does he want to torture him, or kill his friends, or destroy his country? Maybe. Eh. He shies away from want.

Personally, I think—as with Sam—Dream will get a lot more satisfaction from Quackity from proving Quackity’s insignificance to him than from legitimizing Quackity’s impact on him by avenging himself in a way that’s too dramatic and devastating. It would be an even harsher blow to Quackity than it was to Sam, because unlike Sam, Quackity’s worst demons actually do stem from being brushed aside, ignored and forgotten and unimportant. What better vengeance against the man who told you he’d make sure you’d never forget, than to shrug and inform him that you’re over it, you barely remember, he’s not even worth killing? Quackity’s no threat and no peer: he is prey that’s too small to eat.

Kink stuff disgusts me so much when I randomly stumble upon it in the tags of non-sexual media I like… it’s so annoying. I just stumbled across a giantess / shrinking fetish Persona post in the Persona Q tag (I started playing Persona Q on my 3DS again). It was a panel from the manga (which, I actually own the P4 side of the PQ manga which is cool.) And I ‘liked’ the post, and quickly unliked it when I saw the tags “giantess” and “shrinking kink”. (Cuz it was the scene where Kanji drinks the Alice in Wonderland potion and shrinks down to miniature size, and Chie and Yukiko laugh.) Ugh. and may I remind everyone that these characters are MINORS. why do people have to turn everything sexual ;-;

I just wanna look at gifsets from the actual game, and instead all I’m finding is ship art and fetish crap 😭

EDIT: and NOW I’m finding kpop roleplay blogs filling the Persona Q tag with random gay kpop ship RP’s that have nothing to do with Persona. I do love this site but the search function leaves a lot to be desired 🫠
