Reactions As I Read: ● Matthew, stop working out with your glasses on ● ok, so some dude has controlled the Dark Messiah, Angar the Screamer, Ramrod, and now Kraven the Hunter. who are you??
Tumblr media
● Sal Trapani’s inking is a little heavy at times for my preference ● Woman, to Tasha: “So you live alone—with two men?” / Tasha: “On separate floors, deary. Does that scandalize you, or just make you jealous?”
Tumblr media
● 👏👏👏
Synopsis: Daredevil and Black Widow are in an training session talking about their personal matters, and how as Matthew Murdock, he hasn't met Kerwin J. Broderick, the head of Broderick, Sloan, & Murdock, and how Matt has yet to meet him since being employed there. After their session together, they meet with Ivan who brings them their mail. Inside they find an invitation to a cocktail party being held by Kerwin J. Broderick himself, who is anxious to meet Matt Murdock.
Meanwhile, the mastermind behind San Francisco's crime rackets has hired Kraven the Hunter in order to defeat or kill Daredevil. When the man offers Kraven the money, the hunter refuses telling him he only works for the thrill of the hunt.
Later that date, Matthew Murdock arrives on the job at Broderick, Sloan & Murdock to learn that his partner Jason Sloan has gotten him an postponement of trail on the Research Centre vandals that he is representing. Murdock is furious because he has no intention to change his plea because he has enough evidence to find them innocent. This causes turbulence between Jason and Matt, and makes him wonder about the ethics of his employer since the orders came from Broderick.
Returning home, Matt finds that the mansion has been attacked and Ivan bound up. Untying Natasha's bodyguard he learns that Natasha has been kidnapped by Kraven the Hunter who has demanded at Daredevil meet him at the San Francisco Zoo. Arriving there Daredevil is instantly attacked by Kraven. As the Man Without Fear manages to hold his own, he demands that Kraven show him where Natasha is. When Kraven finally does, he does so with dramatic flair: He has Natasha tied to the ground in the elephants pen and has blown a horn sending the gigantic beasts into a frenzy. Daredevil breaks off the first to rescue Natasha allowing Kraven to escape and begin plotting the next phase of his attack on Daredevil.
Six days alter, Matt and Natasha head over to Broderick's mansion for the cocktail party and meet Broderick for the first time. The party is dull and Matt and Natasha cause some controversy among the elite that are there. Just then Kraven the Hunter bursts through the window. While Natasha keeps him busy, Matt slips away in order to change into Daredevil. The two heroes have the upper hand fighting Kraven in closed quarters, forcing the criminal to take the battle outside.
There Kraven gets the advantage, knocking out Black Widow with a tranquilizer dart and then knocking Daredevil unconscious. With the Man Without Fear knocked out, Kraven lifts the hero over his head, poised to throw him off a cliff into the rocky waters below.

**HERE BE SPOILERS: Skip ahead to the fan art/podcast to avoid spoilers
Reactions As I Read: ● ugh, I like my heroes to be street level. all of this is just too much. ● this guy wanted to be “an absolute monarch with absolute power” … to be king of San Francisco… Way to rein it in there at the end, buddy ● Swamp Thing’s evil brother ● a genuinely shitty demise for that cop ● “The monster seems to be leaving peacefully.” sputters peacefully? he just killed someone! ● yikes, Black Widow looks like plastic surgery gone wrong
Tumblr media
● Is DD starting to fall for Moon Dragon now? jeez ● finally something a little interesting. DD has to admit his blindness when he can’t follow a command from Moon Dragon ● DD has his vision back, but it also magically took away the lenses in his cowl? ● heh, others are noticing the lense pieces being gone, too ● JESUS. so long, Janis. ● without his radar sense, DD should be having trouble getting around, I would think. it’s all he’s known for so long. ● ah, ok. so they actually are making DD have some trouble getting around. it might bring this from a 1-clap issue to a 2-clap ● groans I can’t wait until DD is in NYC again and for this story arc to end. it sucks! ● 👏👏 (barely earned that second clap!)
Synopsis: Kerwin J. Broderick has been using Moon Dragon's Titanian technology for his own ends in order to reshape the city of San Francisco in his own image. When Daredevil and Moon Dragon have learned the truth, Broderick shot Moon Dragon in the back. He has unleashed his latest creation, Terrex, a creature that has the power of life itself. He has dispatched his agent the Dark Massiah to put a force-field around the city to prevent anyone from escaping. He has sent Ramrod out to smash any authorities that will resist Broderick's plot.
Broderick explains how not only was he the reputable owner of a law firm, but also the secret kingpin of crime of the San Francisco underworld. He had everyone in his back pocket until the arrival of the ethical lawyer Matt Murdock and the costumed crime fighter Daredevil. Things changed when he met Moon Dragon and tricked her into helping him, all for the sole purposes of taking over all of San Francisco. Kerwin then tells Daredevil that he intends to merge with Terrex giving him power of life and death. When the Man Without Fear attempts to stop him, Kerwin blasts him with his stun blaster and leaves the two unconscious beings behind.
Meanwhile, above the surface, Terrex is giving a show of power, swiping the police away by creating gigantic plants, and then when a police officer approaches him ages him to death. As Terrex walks away, Black Widow and Paul Carson note that everything in Terrex's path has died as Terrex has absorbed it's lifeforce. While at police headquarters Chief O'Hara is answering a flood of phone calls from panicked people when he gets a telegram telling him that his brother, who was out on expedition in Africa, has been killed.
Back at Moon Dragon's ship, Daredevil revives to find that Moon Dragon is on the brink of death. Taking her to a regenesis chamber he is unable to operate the machinery because he cannot see what color the dials are. Moon Dragon uses her powers to restore Daredevil's sight so that he can operate the machinery and restore her to full health. Using the teleportation device the two return to the surface right before Black Widow and Paul and the quartet begin to track down Terrex.
Elsewhere, Angar the Screamer is out driving with his girlfriend Janice and they happen upon Terrex. As Angar brags about how Terrex and Broderick is going to make this city theirs to control, Angar is completely oblivious to the fact that his close proximity to Terrex has killed Janice. While at the same time, Daredevil, Black Widow, and Moon Dragon deal with the threats posed by the Dark Messiah, and Ramrod. After Moon Dragon defeats the Dark Messiah, Daredevil realizes that his vision is hampering his ability to fight, and has Moon Dragon take his vision away.
Daredevil lends Black Widow a helping hand against Ramrod, however their fight is cut short by the arrival of Broderick who has arrives with Terrex and is just about to merge with the creature and destroy the city.

Daredevil (vol. 1) #101: Vengeance in the Sky with Diamonds!

**HERE BE SPOILERS: Skip ahead to the fan art/podcast to avoid spoilers
Reactions As I Read: ● Angar looks like he smells like patchouli and B.O. ● hey, copper, only Frank Castle is allowed to call DD “Red” ● cops asking DD for physical description, i.e. hair and eye color and any distinguishing marks ● aww, Tasha left Ivan behind, too? ● the artists’ coloring of Daredevil’s black eyes look really creepy here
Tumblr media
● wait… Tasha? wtf is going on? ● I hope Angar gets defeated this issue. I am so over this story arc. ● oh, Angar is reporting to someone… “The Man” ● the “Man” implanted something in Angar’s head to control him, which he apparently also did with Mordecai (the Dark Messiah), which makes sense as he had similar powers ● wow, Matt makes one point and that’s enough for Angar to fold like a cheap suit and set him free ● 👏👏
Synopsis: Easily defeated by Angar the Screamer, DD returns home to find that Black Widow has returned, having not enjoyed her experience working with the Avengers.
When Angar the Screamer uses his powers to turn the Black Widow against Daredevil, the two fight the hallucinogenic criminal's powers and work together to try and stop him. However, during the course of the battle Angar uses his powers to escape the two heroes.

Daredevil (vol. 1) #99: The Mark of Hawkeye!
Read Date: February 22, 2023 Cover Date: May 1973 ● Writer: Steve Gerber ● Penciler: Sam Kweskin ● Inker: Syd Shores ● Colorist: Stan Goldberg ● Letterer: Artie Simek ● Editor: Roy Thomas ●
Tumblr media
**HERE BE SPOILERS: Skip ahead to the fan art/podcast to avoid spoilers
Reactions As I Read: ● oo, crossover time! I'm excited! ● this is my first time reading Hawkeye in the comics and I am not impressed by him so far. I hope there's a reason for him acting like this--a reason other than 1970s male writer syndrome. ● at least Natasha is sticking up for herself… though sometimes her words don't align with her actions ● Natasha's hair isn't quite so big this issue. It looks better. The past several issues, I had "the bigger the hair, the closer to god!" in the back of my mind every time she came across the page ● Clint, STOP with the grabby-grabby ● oo, the shading of Black Widow's hair looks amazing in this panel:
Tumblr media
● heh, I like how Daredevil finally subdues Hawkeye--by trapping him with his own bow ● he gets out of it pretty quickly though and fires an arrow at DD that wraps him up with some sort of rope ● Hawkeye is moping around San Francisco and bumps into a member of the "Hellbirds" biker gang ● he fights off the biker gang, then Daredevil shows up to try to talk to him. Hawkeye uses a sonic arrow, which of course totally incapacitates Daredevil because of his hypersenses ● the reader learns that the sonic arrow could actually kill DD, but its motor shuts off after a couple more seconds ● DD snaps Hawkeye's bow over his knee (he deserved it) ● DD and Hawkeye finally stop with their dick-swinging contest ● they go back to Natasha's house to find the Avengers waiting for them. The Avengers say they need help against Magneto ● Heh, Thor says it best (to Hawkeye): "…thine unprovoked hostility doth sorely try my patience!" That's how I've felt through this entire issue. And I was so excited for the crossover, too, dammit ● DD agrees to join the Avengers in battle this once; Hawkeye has stormed off to pout somewhere ● whines Do I wanna read Avengers #111 or just have one of the podcasts I listen to synopsize it for me? Yeah, I think I'll do that. ● 👏👏(saved from being a 1-clap by Black Panther, Natasha sticking up for herself, and DD emphasizing to Hawkeye that it is Natasha's decision)
Synopsis: Returning home from their battle against the Dark Messiah, Daredevil and Black Widow are greeted by Hawkeye, who had just recently quit the Avengers, and has shown up in San Francisco to rekindle his romance with the Black Widow.
This doesn't go over very well with Daredevil, who tries to get involved in the conversation, which further agitates Hawkeye. It finally gets to the point where the two end up fighting it out. The brawl ends when Daredevil pretends to be "blinded" by Hawkeye's phosphorous arrow, at which point Hawkeye calls off the fight and leaves the scene. Daredevil then goes off to track down Hawkeye so that the two of them can "talk it out." He finds the avenging archer just as he has defeated some bikers and swoops in to talk to him but Hawkeye interprets this as if Daredevil has come to continue their fight. The two heroes duke it out again, fighting to a standstill at which point they then decide to stop fighting and let Natasha decide who she wants to be with.
Returning to Black Widow's home, they soon find that they're going to have to wait for Natasha's answer as the Avengers, Thor, Vision and Black Panther have arrived to recruit Daredevil to help them save members of the Avengers and the X-Men from Magneto. Hawkeye thinking the Black Widow called them to get him to leave storms out of the house. While Daredevil listens to their proposal. He initially declines but the Black Panther informs Daredevil that he owes him one due to previously assisting Daredevil in his time of need.[1] Daredevil accepts and so he, the Avengers, and the Black Widow depart in a Quinjet back to New York.
This story continues in Avengers Vol 1 111.

Daredevil (vol. 1) #98: Let There Be -- Death!
Read Date: February 21, 2022 Cover Date: April 1973 ● Writer: Gerry Conway ◦ Steve Gerber ● Penciler: Gene Colan ● Inker: Ernie Chua ● Colorist: George Roussos ● Letterer: Shelly Leferman ● Editor: Roy Thomas ●

Reactions As I Read: ● ugh, I hate it when characters refer to themselves as "hero." I don't think that's a label that can be self-applied. Does that bug anyone else? ● oo, Daredevil gets bitch-slapped
Tumblr media
● I feel bad for the guy under Dark Messiah. I hope Mordecai Jones can be saved. ● so Josiah can create sonic vibration from his hands… ● MacAbee can control the elements… ● and Uriah can control reality ● with these powers combined, they are the DISCIPLES OF DOOOOOM! (no literally, that's what they're called) ● Dark Messiah drops the force field, then he and his Disciples just fuck off somewhere, leaving DD to ask, "dafuq?" ● Daredevil knows he's heard the heartbeat before but can't recall where ● heh, at least Matt has his sunglasses in a drawer and wasn't wearing them under his cowl like he used to ● out in San Francisco, Mordecai and his Disciples of Doom are carrying out a cleansing of some kind. their first victim, a cable car ● Black Widow's recent wound from Man-Bull acts up on her and she passes out from pain ● I think this might be the single most creepiest panel I've yet come across on my comic reading adventures (and I've seen the Transformers' holomatter human avatars and their creepy fixed smiles!) :
Tumblr media
● they take the fight into a local shop, and the proprietor shakily holds a gun on them ● jeez, did Dark Messiah just kill that guy on panel? o_0 ● Daredevil: "Come off it, Mordecai! You're no god--just an overgrown kid with weird eyes and a talent for acrobatics!" -- DD, you literally just described yourself… ● but DD jogged his own memory by saying "acrobatics" and remembers where he's heard that heartbeat before ● … so Dark Messiah just… exploded when he was forced to remember who he was? ● 👏👏
Synopsis: Forced to fight the Disciples of Doom alone, Daredevil is easily overmatched by the group who leave after showing him their power. Resuming his civilian life, Matt eventually resumes his Daredevil guise when the Disciples attack the city with their powers.
The Black Widow aids Daredevil in the fight, however she overtaxes herself due to her injuries sustained battling the Man-Bull and has to sit out the fight. Daredevil battles each of the Disciples one-on-one defeating them all until he faces the Dark Messiah. Finally recognizing him as the street performer Mordecai Jones, Daredevil confronts him with this truth. The Dark Messiah denies this, and such denial causes a backlash of his powers, that explodes seemingly destroying himself and his followers, although Daredevil survives the explosion.

Reactions As I Read: ● heheh, Taurens has that craaaaazy look in his eyes:
Tumblr media
● I don't remember Man-Bull reverting back to fully human William Taurens, but it's been a minute since I read an issue of Daredevil with him in it ● Do you really want a guy called "Itch" to be your sniper? ● Well, Itch pulls it off. He shots a vial of something into Taurens's cell, which Taurens injects into himself ● as Man-Bull, he escapes ● this was all a week ago, and now we are in San Francisco ● welp, Matt's name is on the door
Tumblr media
● Matt hears a runaway car, and literally 8 seconds pass from him being in his office dressed as a lawyer, to landing on the roof of the car as Daredevil (you need to keep the vigilantin' to nights, Matt. Eventually you will need to put in a full day at the office!) ● Man-Bull tussles with Black Widow and Ivan. Widow wins and leaves with an unconscious Ivan over her shoulders ● Daredevil calls Man-Bull a "hooved horror." Uh, Matt… have you seen the guy's feet? blinks Well, actually, I guess you haven't. But still! ● DD is shot with something as he fights Man-Bull, his lenses are missing because we can see his eyes (though his skin is red), and Natasha has some seriously angry eyebrows:
Tumblr media
● 👏👏👏
Synopsis: Learning that Daredevil has relocated to San Francisco, William Taurens has his men organize for the professor who gave him his power to provide a new batch and have it shot into his cell. Taking the formula and changing back into the Man-Bull, Taurens heads to San Francisco bent on getting revenge against Daredevil.
Having just settled into his new job at Jason Sloan's law firm, Matt's moment of reprieve from super-heroing is cut short when the Man-Bull begins terrorizing the San Francisco area. With the Black Widow, Daredevil battles his foe, however during the course of the battle DD is shot by one of the Man-Bull's henchmen, critically wounding him, leaving only the Black Widow to stand in the villain's way.

Black Panther explains that he was investigating the criminal activities of a local gang of African-American youths known as the Thunderbolts. The Thunderbolts, Panther explains have been recruiting members from the kids that he teaches in his civilian guise of Lucas Charles (during the conversation DD and Black Panther confirm each other's civilian identities). The group itself, is anti-establishment and is under the belief that the "white man" is the cause of their ills, and believes that violence and theft is the only way to get out from under the perception of oppression. (Tell it like it is!) DD also learns that the boy he saved (Lonnie) has an older brother Billy who has infiltrated the group.

Synopsis: In semi-hiding, Daredevil recovers from his battle against Mr. Fear, Daredevil stops an attempted mugging. During the fight he has a sudden bout of debilitating fear, and the muggers gain the upper hand until the police break things up. DD is balked by all the spectators who label him a coward, all influenced by the negative press labeling Him as a chicken.
Wondering how he could defeat Mr. Fear, DD visits the District Attorney's office and asks Foggy Nelson for a favor and has the warden read him the file on Zoltan Drago (The identity of the original Mr. Fear). When Mr. Fear attempts to rob an armored car, DD is there to stop him. During the fight, Daredevil informs Mr. Fear that he knows that he isn't Zoltan Drago - the original - because the original Mr. Fear had a fear of heights and would never use a flying device, like the one they are fighting on.
During the course of the fight, DD unmasks Mr. Fear, revealing him to be Starr Saxon. His plot foiled, Starr jumps off the floating platform to his apparent death. DD then reveals that Starr placed fear capsules in the billy club while he was in possession of it, and that they were the cause of his bouts of cowardice.

Tumblr media
● a baby with fangs is… terrifying ● I’m here for Mandrill and Nekra ● lol, DD telling an officer to shut up ● 👏👏👏
Synopsis: Returning back to New York following their battle with the Black Spectre, Daredevil learns how the Thing saw who their leader really is, not a woman, but some kind of thing. Thanking Ben for the info, Daredevil jumps from the Fantasticar and swings to the ground below. Along the way down he spots members of the Black Spectre gang.
Battling one of their number, Daredevil knocks her out and removes the helmet and reveals, as he's suspected all along, that the members of Black Spectre are all women wearing padded costumes to conceal their gender. What Daredevil doesn't see, and isn't told until he brings the woman into the local police station is that she has a facial tattoo. There is he is told that they are going to be released due to the fact that they have not committed any crime that they can be booked for. Before they are released Shanna the She-Devil arrives with her pets to charge them with accessory to murder when suddenly the holding room explodes, and they realize that the members of Black Spectre have been rigged with explosives.
Aboard Black Spectre's ship, Nekra takes the Black Widow to their leader and he orders her to go to New York City and collect Daredevil, whom he intends to also make his slave. While back in the city, Daredevil calls it a night and when he arrives home he finds the leader of Black Spectre waiting for him. Unmasking the leader turns out to be the apish mutant known as the Mandrill.
The Mandrill explains his origins: That years ago a white nuclear scientist and a black cleaning lady were both working in an atomic lab when they were both bombarded with radiation. The radiation caused their children to be born mutants: The black woman giving birth to a chalk-white baby, while the scientists wife birthing a black child covered with hair. As they grew they continued to mutate and they were mocked and ridiculed by their peers. Eventually the man abandoned their boy out in the desert, and the girl ran away from home. They would meet and become friends, riding the rails and learning by stealing books and listening outside of classrooms. Eventually, an angry mob would attack them and this is when their latent mutant abilities to manifest would come into play, the Mandrill's ability to control others, especially women, and Nekra's strength and durability being fueled by others hatred. Realizing the power that they now wield, they would vow to destroy the institutions that caused them so much pain and misery.
Daredevil attacks the Mandrill who throws the hero out a window. As the two begin to fight it out on the streets, a crowd of onlookers begin to crowd around, and the police are called. Afraid to get captured the Mandrill makes his escape, and Daredevil is unable to track him with his radar sense due to the noise caused by the crowd and oncoming police cars.

Reactions As I Read: ● Tasha and DD having a bit of a spat while they work through acrobatics ● Matt really wants to eat his cake and have it, too, doesn’t he ● I think this is the first time in the comics I’ve read that we actually see an elderly victim being struck ● meh, Natasha being the “over-emotional broad,” I guess. though it doesn’t excuse going too far with beating a crook, she has a right to be pissed off because of Matt ● I’m surprised Tasha is letting Moon Dragon stay at her mansion
Tumblr media
● snerk wearing his sunglasses under his cowl again? ● Foggy! <3 ● I won’t be sad if Moon Dragon is gone for good. I feel nothing for her as a character ● ugh, is Foggy’s sister going to be Matt’s next love interest? ● Black Spectre and a plot to steal government printing plates ● oh yeah, I forgot the Beetle was supposed to be in this lol ● I hope this is the beginning of DD returning to NYC ● 👏👏👏
Synopsis: Tensions between Black Widow and Daredevil heat up over the Christmas holiday as Black Widow presses Daredevil for answers about his feelings about Moondragon, and unfortunately he doesn't have any to give. Their talk of relationships ends abruptly when they witness a gang of thieves trying to mug an old lady. The two heroes swing into action, and easily take them down. Natasha takes things too far and is pummeling a man near to death, and Daredevil is forced to strike her in order to make her stop. When the police come to arrest the crooks, and Daredevil is thanked by the old lady, he realizes that the Black Widow has already left.
Traveling back to the mansion where they live, Daredevil gets into an argument with the Widow over the ethics of brutalizing the crooks they fight. When it seems neither side can agree, Daredevil stops the conversation and goes downstairs to Ivan and Moondragon, who are decorating the place for Christmas. When Ivan turns on the TV news a report comes on about how Foggy Nelson was shot by an unknown sniper and is recovering in hospital. Matt is instantly worried and begins making arrangements to get to New York. Matt's request for Ivan to make travel reservations for him and Natasha is quashed by the Black Widow, who refuses to go to Foggy Nelson's aid especially after he had her tried as a spy in court. Moondragon offers to give Matt a lift in her spaceship instead and Daredevil rushes upstairs to pack and is ready to go in a few minutes. With Daredevil gone, Black Widow breaks down in tears and admits her feelings for Murdock to her bodyguard Ivan and fears that she has lost him for good.
On the trip to New York, Daredevil confronts Moondragon with his feelings, and while she admits that she shares similar feelings for him, they are two vastly different beings and she has to turn down any feelings and forget them. Leaving Moondragon's ship, Daredevil swings to the New York General and changes into his civilian guise of Matt Murdock on the roof. Entering the hospital Daredevil meets with Foggy's fiancee Debbie Harris, as well as Foggy's parents and his sister Candace, whom Foggy has never previously mentioned. Candace explains that she is considered by Foggy to be the "black sheep" of the family and promises to explain why later.
When Matt meets with Foggy, he learns that Foggy was shot for getting too close to information that the local gangs in New York are being manipulated by a group called the Black Spectre. He explains that the group plans on stealing a set of government printing plates on exhibit in midtown and passes out. As doctors rush in to check on Foggy's status, Matt rushes out the door to change into Daredevil and try and stop Black Spectre from stealing the plates.
Along the way he intercepts the Beetle, who is making his own bid to steal the printing plates. As the two clash, their fight brings them into the museum exhibit where they duke it out. While the Beetle has superior strength over Daredevil, DD knows the Beetle's weakness. Using the suction cups on the Beetle's own costume, Daredevil pulls off the Beetle's helmet -- the power source to his armor -- rending Beetle immobile. As the Beetle vows to get Daredevil they are startled by gas bombs that are dropped in the room.
As Daredevil is choking on the gas, he is unable to stop two agents of Black Spectre from stealing the printing plates and making a clean getaway.

Reactions As I Read: ● wasn’t there already a DD story called “Blind Man’s Bluff”? checks yup! issue #31 ● new artist this time around ● ok dude, if—if—you became Master of San Francisco, people are going to flee first chance they get. then you’d just ha…. you know what, I don’t care enough about this storyline to put logic into it. moving on. ● is DD going to end up going to Africa? I feel like that’s what the story about the chief’s brother is setting up ● “I’m Rick Jones, beeotch!” ● Aunt May?
Tumblr media
● I see they changed Angar’s forehead medallion to a bird. I guess they got tired of the swastika being attributed to Nazism. that is sucky that the Hindu symbols can’t be divorced from the Nazis ● 👏👏👏
Synopsis: Kerwin Broderick merges with his last creation - Terrex - and demands that everyone surrender to him or he will kill every inhabitant of San Francisco. When Daredevil attempts to attack Terrex directly, he finds his legs temporarily numbed as a warning to avoid such foolish attacks again. Moondragon, Black Widow, Daredevil and Paul Carson then pull back to determine what to do next.
Elsewhere in the city, Broderick's law partner Jason Sloan watches the events unfold on television. Realizing that Matt Murdock was right all along, he storms out of the office vowing to do something about his former boss. Daredevil and the others meanwhile have given up and gone to Police Chief O'Hara to convince him to surrender to Terrex. O'Hara refuses and storms out of the office, and the group finds the telegram on his desk informing him of his brothers death in Africa. Just then another police officer enters the room and tells them that Terrex is being attacked by Captain Marvel.
Outside, Captain Marvel tries his best to stop Terrex however he is then attacked by Ramrod. The two super-humans fight it out, however Captain Marvel finds that his strength is outmatched by Terrex and so he changes into Rick Jones suddenly, blinding Ramrod enough for Jones to step out of his path, and Ramrod runs straight into a brick wall knocking himself out. Despite Captain Marvel's pleas to change back, Rick insists that they need to rest after their last few cases and points out that Daredevil and the others are arriving via helicopter.
Elsewhere in the city, Angar the Screamer finally notices that Terrex killed his girlfriend Janice. When he attempts to hug her corpse it crumbles into dust in his hands, prompting the furious Angar to go out and get revenge against Terrex for killing his lover.
Back on the battlefront, Daredevil, Moondragon, and Black Widow are looking for Captain Marvel. Realizing that his alter ego is needed, Rick Jones clashing his Nega-Bands together to switch places with Captain Marvel once more. The Kree hero confronts the assemblage of heroes and offers his aid. When Mar-Vel confirms Moondragon's origins, he explains that Terrex was a doomsday weapon in development by the people of Titan. Because the creature is the embodiment of life, they would have to destroy it with something made of un-life, or anti-matter however they would have to stop Terrex's rampage by attacking the mind of Broderick first.
Terrex is stopped first by Jason Sloan who attempts to shoot Terrex who just laughs at him. With a choice between living and dying, Sloan chooses death than living under Terrex's rule. Just then Matt Murdock shows up to confront Terrex as well. Furious, Terrex orders Angar to use his powers against his foes, however Angar instead turns them against Terrex as well.
As Murdock, Black Widow, and Captain Marvel keep Terrex occupied, Moondragon uses her mental powers to boost Angar's powers beyond their range. They trap Terrex in a black void with the egg of creation, when Terrex smashes it he is enveloped in utter darkness. The unlife destroys Terrex and kills Broderick and with the threat over Moondragon ends the illusion. With all said and done, the heroes reel at the scope of what they accomplished and Captain Marvel parts company with them.

Reactions As I Read: ● yay, Spidey is in this issue! ● ah, we’re post Gwen’s death. I’ve not caught up to that part yet in reading The Amazing Spider-Man, but I know it’s coming… ● ok, this is a fun panel of Peter:
Tumblr media
● Tasha’s not very good with money if she used the last of her inheritance for a mansion to house 3 people ● whoooo dafuq is this guy and why is he barging through the library walls? maybe he followed Spidey? ● guess not. he’s after the papers from Rolling Stone ● Ramrod origin story, here we go! ● so some bald aliens made him a cyborg? ok. I like how none of the three lifted a finger to help him ● 👏👏👏
Synopsis: Peter Parker has traveled to San Francisco on assignment for the Daily Bugle to interview Black Widow and Daredevil. The wall-crawler arrives just as Daredevil and Black Widow have returned to their mansion with evidence implicating the most powerful crime boss, given to Daredevil by the writers of Rolling Stone Magazine for safe keeping until the exposé is published. Spider-Man changes into his civilian guise of Peter Parker and introduces himself to Ivan Petrovitch before continuing on and knocking on the door.
Invited in by the Black Widow, Peter Parker begins his interview with Daredevil. However, before it can even begin the mansion is attacked by a new super-powered steel-skinned villain named Ramrod. Ramrod has been sent to collect the damning evidence that Daredevil has on his employer. Smashing through the house and taking Daredevil, Widow, and Parker off guard, he succeeds in collecting the evidence and making an escape.
As Daredevil and Black Widow chase after Ramrod, Peter Parker slips away to change into Spider-Man to lend a helping hand. As the three heroes go searching for Ramrod, the villain himself looks about the city and gloats about his superiority over everyone. He recalls how he used to be a tough as nails oil rig boss who pushed his workers as hard as possible until one day some loosened oil drums toppled on him crushing all his bones. He would be kidnapped by a mysterious employer who would rebuild him into a new body with steel plated skin and the ability to fire energy beams from his hands. Told that he was injected with a deadly chemical in order to insure his compliance, Ramrod would agree to do his employers bidding.
Ramrod's recollection is interrupted by Spider-Man who snatches away the stolen evidence and makes a break for it. Before Ramrod can get his hands on Spider-Man, he is saved by Daredevil and Black Widow who tell the wall-crawler to make a break for it while they hold back the crook. However, Ramrod has other ideas and initiates an ability to fly after Spider-Man. Daredevil and Black Widow renew their fight however Ramrod gets a hold of Black Widow and makes good an escape when he drops her off a building forcing Daredevil to come to her rescue.
When Ramrod finally catches up with Spider-Man the two duke it out up the side of a building. However, during the fight, Daredevil and Black Widow arrive and land blows that send Ramrod tumbling to the ground below. The impact of the fall knocks the crook out and makes him easy for authorities to take into custody. After the battle, Spider-Man hands the evidence back over to Daredevil and swings away before they can thank him.
Shortly there after they are found by Peter Parker who finally gets the interview with the two heroes that he had travelled out to get.

Reactions As I Read: ● issue 100! let's see if they do anything cool with it ● now, I get that he has supersenses, but things like him driving decently or flying a craft sort of strain my suspension of disbelief… ● now we got Jann Wenner, editor of Rolling Stone… ● flashback of the accident that blinded Matt ● oh god, mention of Mike Murdock. just when I'd finally erased him from my memory… ● shared hallucination?
Tumblr media
● (I just looked it up, and Jann Wenner was actually the editor of Rolling Stone. I wonder what sort of marketing ploy this was back in the day…) ● ah, no one except Daredevil seems to remember the hallucination ● so apparently there will come a blood-curdling scream, then all the hallucinations happen. weird… actually kinda legit creepy ● too bad Daredevil can't see the awesomeness that is the sky:
Tumblr media
● Angar the Screamer looks like he doesn't smell great ● 👏👏👏
Synopsis: Following the events of Avengers #111 the Black Widow chose to stay with the Avengers while Daredevil returned to San Francisco. Upon returning to the city Matt suited up as Daredevil busts up some crooks and begins experiencing some hallucinations. The crime in question that he foiled was that of a robbery of the Rolling Stones magazine offices.
Daredevil speaks with Jann Wenner the editor whom invites him back to the offices after the motive of the robbery seems unclear. While at the office Jann asks Daredevil for an interview which Matt agrees to. Declining to share his secret identity but recants a brief summary of his origin to Jann leaving out most of the details but thinking the rest to himself. Eventually Jann gets fed up of Daredevil's constant daydreaming but before he can finish the thought Daredevil hears a ruckus from the streets below. He goes to investigate just as a massive hallucination overtakes him; he then begins perceiving characters from his past coming to confront him. Upon snapping back to reality Daredevil realizes it's not an isolated incident as Jann explains that this has happened before, but only Daredevil remembers the events of the hallucinations where the others can't remember its contents and simply feel as if they awoke from a bad dream.
In a hurried state Daredevil phones Lt. Paul Carson and asks about the odd events. Lt. Carson confirms that there have been multiple incidents and they all occur after a scream. Daredevil hangs up just as another scream is heard like he had heard earlier and dashes towards it. When he makes it to its source he comes face to face with the one responsible for the hallucinations… Angar the Screamer.

Reactions As I Read: ● Man-Bull has some overactive salivary glands… ● and why is he purple now? ● DD starts coming around and asks for Tasha's help ● don't tell me they're gonna leave his costume on while they operate on him…
Tumblr media
● I don't know about the early 70s, but today they would never leave clothing in place in an operating room. while prepping for a surgery of my own, I heard a nurse having to gently explain to a sweet, shy nun that she did indeed need to remove the headpieces of her habit as well ● I wish people would stop calling Natasha "little lady" all the time ● RIP, Itch? ● (poisoned water supply… timely, because as I read this, the chemical spill in East Palestine, Ohio, is still being kept very hush-hush) ● I thought Black Widow had gracefully dodged the charge. guess she was actually just gracefully being knocked through the air… ● DD escapes the hospital ● I live for panels like this:
Tumblr media
● didn't think this one through, didja, Matthew? ● Marvel has no qualms about DD killing folks in the early 70s, did they ● 👏👏
Synopsis: With Daredevil seriously wounded by the Man-Bull, the Widow fights him off and takes DD to a hospital for medical treatment. Returning to his temporary base of operations, the Man-Bull is upset that he is stuck in his bull-like form and so has the professor create more of his serum to put into the San Francisco water supply.
Black Widow tries to stop him, however she fails in doing so, however when DD -- recovering in the hospital -- sees the victims the Man-Bull's work has created, DD leaves the hospital to battle the Man-Bull alone. Fighting the Bull near the harbor, DD gets the creature caught up in some rope attached to an anchor and throws it into the water, pulling the Man-Bull with it, where he seemingly drowns.
