“The only American ice dance team that has anything interesting to say on the ice is Hubbell/Donahue. The rest are either still working stuff out (H/B); too young/new (P/B); or just bland and doing the same thing for years now (Shibs, C/B). Not even the Shibs' silver or bronze medal performances were at all interesting. Here's to hoping the Olympic year inspires them all.”

Conditions weren’t ideal to take pictures there but I am glad I still manage to get a few decent ones, including this one of Elliana Pogrebinski and Alex Benoit in practice at GP France, 2017.11.18

Note
Depends on your definition of "tall", I guess. Kaitlyn Weaver is about 5'7", so is Alexandra Stepanova, Anastasia Skoptcova is 5'8", Christina is around the same height, Alexandra Nazarova is 5'7" with a partner two inches taller, Elliana Pogrebinsky is around 5'8.5"(Alex Benoit retired for school but they had killer lifts). Girls 5'6" and up tend to get shunted into dance, although there are exceptions.
If you are talking about Christina Carreria I think she’s more like 5′4 but thanks for all the other names! It’s so nice to see tall girls in the sport and rockin it.

Note
Pogrebinsky/Benoit just announced that they are retiring. This pair is still a very young one. Too bad US icedance is so crowded that other talented teams don't have a chance. Happened also to Canadian team, Paul/Islam. JMO I think teams should be limited to 2 Olympic cycles. It is getting too much that all you ever see are the same teams all the time. But that is just me.
I remember Sasha Cohen saying in an interview that she had thought Michelle Kwan should retire, she had won enough. The first competition without Michelle though the ice felt empty and she missed her being there.I think that people should compete as long as they want to. You can't count on anything but yourself. It's not a taking turns thing. There is no guarantee a younger team won't snatch the prize out of your hand. P/C went from thirteenth to first and they earned it.
