So a few pkmn irl mods I know have been sent this ask.

A little bit of clarification if you’ve gotten this in your inbox: you will not be autoflagged for spam by tagging your posts. You will be flagged for tagging a post about one thing with something unrelated. (Example: tagging a post exclusively about Danganronpa with Steven Universe.) Tagging rp posts is also important to make sure they are seen by your audience. You may have followers, but if you never tag your posts, they’ll see less of your posts, and those posts will be mixed in with everything on their dash. If you do tag your posts, they’ll be updated on your newer posts more often. In the clutter of the dashboard, you won’t see much rp. While scrolling a tag, it’s easier to keep updated on people’s blogs and what’s going on with them. Finally, shadowbanning on tumblr does not exist. It’s a myth. If I remember correctly this came from people coming from TikTok and Twitter, where shadowbanning does exist. So when their posts didn’t get notes, they said it was because they were shadowbanned, because they didn’t know any better. The idea of a tumblr shadowban spread unfortunately, and a lot of people think they’re banned because no one is liking their posts. It’s a common misconception.

This ask has been copy/pasted into several people’s inboxes. A few friends I have say it may be someone bored and trying to start trouble. My advice would be to not engage. Delete the ask, I would also recommend blocking the anon.

Shuppet and Banette History

Shuppet are ghost type pokemon originating in Hoenn, first being documented officially in the Hoennese Edo Period (1600s). They were said to be teru teru bōzu (small little paper dolls) come to life, playing pranks on the children that would mistreat them when they were still dolls. The Shuppet of this era had a slightly different appearance, being white and having paper instead of cloth cover them.

It wasn't until the 1940s that things began to change. During this time period, a popular brand of toy known as "ragged monsters" came out, which resembled what we know now as Banette. These toys quickly grew in popularity, subverting the expectation of regular humanoid dolls and appreciating the more creepy side of toys. These dolls were shipped to many other regions, with hundreds to thousands of them being made. Different variants of them were made as well to fit many occasions, and they became the staple of alternative toys at the time. (While I wasn't alive at that time, my ma did take part in this craze and I do have some of these dolls she decided to pass onto me).

But, like any craze, the popularity soon died out, and many of the dolls were abandoned and thrown away.

After that happened, complaints about seeing these dolls move on their own began to circle the region. Parents would say that their kids would see these strange toys move in the night and stand at the foot of their bed , almost with a vengeful energy. These dolls were recalled as to not anger anyone and to do more research on them. After extensive studies, it was revealed that these dolls were pokemon and the evolution of shuppet. This was a surprise to most, especially with it being the evolution of Shuppet, who was thought to have a rare evolution unrelated to these dolls. These pokemon were then named Jupetta, or Banette for Galarian speakers.

Hello everyone! Mod Zoroark - the one running @darktypehuman - here! I decided to go ahead and make the network account for pokeblogging accounts! This blog is still a heavy wip, as I'm still working on the blank copy of the bio, but I hope to start adding accounts as soon as possible!

I'm restricting it to just pokeblogging accounts (IE, those who mostly just pretend to be their oc on tumblr, and don't like, rp in-person interactions between characters primarily) since I think if I listed every person who uses the pokemon irl tag I would be here forever.

Chandelure Facts

-The scientific name for Chandelure is "Candelbrum Fatum" which roughly translates to "Foolish Candle brum" or "Foolish chandelier"

-While it's hard to place Chandelure and the rest of its line on the evolution tree, it seems to be closely related to Gengar, with both of them being gas-like mons (fire containing a lot of gas and all of that)

-Chandelure are able to regulate the temperature of their flames and dull them down enough to the point where they are safe to touch

-In old Galar, royalty and wealthy families would instead use Chandelure as a source of light. Many deaths occurred in these homes

-Chandelure are very aloof pokemon and tend to stay away from people (unless they're hunting)

-While Litwick and Lampent can be found on the outskirts of cities, Chandelure are most often found in old abandoned mansions

-They can mimic regular chandeliers quite well. You can tell it's a chandelure if the chandelier seems to clean (like stated before, they tend to reside in abandoned mansions where things are worn down. The chandelier being clean gives it away)

-To show affection, Chandelure will spin around and make speaking or chirping noises

-Chandelure like to find spots on ceilings to perch

-Chandelure are actually a very rare pokemon to find in the wild. Dusk stones are most commonly found in the depths of caves, and Lampent prefer to stay in cities

-You can tell when a Chandelure is stealing your life force by how strong their flames are. When their flames are strong and glow brightly, they're feeding. When their flames are dull, they're neutral

-Chandelure can turn of their flames at will

-When stealing life force, their flames don't show any physical burns or traces of harm

-Chandelure are very common in children's horror films

-Chandelure don't necessarily need to blink, however, they will blink to show emotions

-They're not comfortontational, and they'll either fight or flee when they sense danger

-Chandelure are fully nocturnal, only being active at night

hi!!! i’m virid (call me vivi though please) and i’m a new pokemon trainer! i decided making an account here would be a good way to keep track of my journey and make some new friends!

i’m 15, which i’m told is a bit old for a first pokemon journey, but that’s just safer for kids that live close(ish) to castelia city, so here we are. i plan on updating this post as my journey progresses, but there’s not much to it yet! i haven’t been out here for very long

i added a picture of me and my partner pokémon but idk how to move it and i don’t feel like reformatting all this rn so it’s under the cut at the very bottom 😅

but most importantly, my team!

my starter is prancer, my deerling sawsbuck. he’s been with me for years now, i got him when i was maybe 8 or 9. he’s super protective of me, and when i was little, he was sort of my ‘bodyguard’. he prefers being out of his pokéball so that he can enjoy the fresh air (and keep an eye on me)

i also recently got salami sandwich the sandile krookodile. she’s named that because she stole my salami sandwich when we met. she’s very feisty but she’s come a long way in her training so far, and is shaping up to be an excellent battler

i found an egg in my backpack and bought an incubator for it. the only thing i know about it so far is that it’s mammalian

twiggy the emolga, who has decided that prancer is his favorite person in the whole wide world. prancer is warming up to him, but definitely doesn’t feel as strongly. twiggy is very very energetic and loves climbing

i’m not a minor but vivi is, so don’t be weird pls! the most nsfw this blog will get is like. health class or purely scientific, but even that is not super likely

my canon is sort of a mix between the games, the anime, and my own personal headcanons, but pokemon are mainly treated like animals are in our world, with a lot of variation and differing opinions. though some pokemon are near or at the same level as human intelligence, they aren’t developed enough to understand social media. vivi will think sapient pokemon are very creative roleplayers

legendary pokémon are very rare and don’t really have anything to do with humans in my canon, and mythicals are a bit friendlier and could potentially befriend a very lucky human

low stakes stuff all around, i just want a normal adventure without any evil teams or world-ending disasters

A few days ago a Golbat, named Fangs, finally got adopted after 2 months here in the shelter! He has a great personality but bad IVs and a TOO energetic temperament have him returned once and he didn't get anyone willing (if you don't count 2 teenagers who I'm 97 percent sure was trying to start their own 'evil team') until now.

The problem?

Today, I came in to feed the Pokemon. I feed the cave section in the mornings this day. As they eat, I'm also counting them as usual and marking them down on the clipboard.

So you see, Fangs is having some vitamin issues so we give him extra 'treats' once a week. It makes him more willing to take his medicine and we can work on his obedience that way.

Since I can't find him, I call out his name, and Lo and behold, a large Crobat rushed over, thinking he is gonna get treats earlier than usual.

Its Fangs.

Fangs evolved thanks to his (what I thought) bromance with Valentino the Swoobat.

Oh, also, they stole a lullaby egg from a Mandibuzz I was monitoring since I discovered she was expecting.

The mandibuzz doesn't want the egg back.

They take turns sitting on it.

The last people who wanted to adopt him can't take care of a Crobat and a Swoobat at the same time along with an egg and now they can't be adopted separately.

What am I gonna do with these dumb gays 🥲
