Another stadium style beta pokemon. This was my 2nd favorite of the bunch. So much personality in this guy even just from a sprite. Now, I’m trying not to be too hard on me from 5 years ago. . . but what happened with the ears? That aside, I’m still pretty happy with the rest of it.

Lookback on this blog, and some talks about the Spaceworld ‘99 build I didn’t talk about back in 2020

I know I’ve been absent since 2019. My apologies! Will I ever get back to this fully? Who knows, but if I stumble on stuff, or feel like filling up the queue, I just might.

We’ve had this beta on our hands for 4 years now. How time flies eh? And we’ve had several other beta Pokémon news. In fact, we had a beta, in 2020 I’d say? Spaceworld ‘99 beta of Gold and Silver, with sprites in the style of the final game but with some Pokémons having totally different designs.

The most interesting sprites imo came from the Silver build

Pokémons like Furret, Ariados and Pichu weren’t there quite yet.

Some other Pokémons like Natu and Xatu kept a bit of that old Gen 1 look, with heavy uses of white.

Some pokémons HAD their final designs, but had totally different sprites with different poses that were scrapped.

WELCOME BACK TO THE THUNDERDOME

Hello. It's that time of year again, the event you've all been waiting for: THE BABY CUP. The time has once again come to decide on the best Baby Pokemon, and I am here to incite some baby on baby violence. 37 babies will enter, but only one will leave here alive.

Our challengers in this most grisly of tournaments include every official Baby Pokemon (x), every cut Baby Pokémon from the Spaceworld 1997 demo (x), as well as one honorary baby (Phione). There will be six rounds in the primary bracket, with each lasting one week. A separate loser's bracket will also be held. The final round of the entire tournament will run from April 7th to April 14th, so mark your calendars!

Cast your votes for your favorite baby, and let's get this show on the road!!

Getting pulled into Ace Attorney so new au.

Kazuki was a lawyer and killed by Giovanni, leaving Hibiki and Ken as suspects.

Red is an ex lawyer, and Blue is an ex prosecutor. Still trying to figure out everything else along with Leaf's role and a future role for Blue.

Hibiki is a lawyer who trained with his father, wanting to be like him, and gets mentored by Red after Kazuki died. Ken is just trying to be a baker or electrician but gets accused of murder.

Silver and Galena were forced to be prosecutors by Giovanni and went with it to be better than him. Silver takes the role of defense when Hibiki is unable to, and with his sister, they land Giovanni in jail. Galena also raised Silver, so he's nicer but still very sassy.

Lyra and Krystal are spirit mediums and have the unfortunate fate of Dolos being their brother in this au. Dolos gets his ass landed in prison, too. Yes, this means Ken ate glass here.

The plot is different but still very alike to that in Ace Attorney. The differences come from the character's personalities and roles not quite matching those in the games to a T.

Silver and Hibiki are childhood friends, too. They met during one of the times Silver and Galena sneaked out of the house. Can't have gay lawyer au without gay lawyers.

(again) #the yellow color in laggaan's hair comes from oxide rich clay! he combed it in for style. #he's an adept fighter who's just as ready to throw down as his pokemon are. life comes at you fast in paradox prehistory #he's also kind of like prehistory goku. like you're minding your business making a basket out of reeds #and somewhere in the distance you hear an explosion and you're like 'hey what the fuck' #and it turns out this absolute mad lad decided to go fight a bear made out of gunpowder for fun or some shit #life in the maybe-never-was past is pretty vibrant! there are lots of different peoples living in all kinds of places. #the world is still largely warm and tropical (with a cooling & drying trend starting to set in.) #lagaan and his friends live in the sand sea - an enormous sand-and-rock desert. #the fur he's wearing used to belong to a beast that has no name in our time (but may have appeared in the spaceworld demo.) #wicked drill is one of the creatures that lives in the desert - it's well adapted to the harsh conditions. #it's primarily herbivorous (feeding on whatever plants and tubers can weather the elements) but Do Not Turn Your Back On It. #it's a ruthless opportunist that has no qualms about hunting if given an opening. (it's also known for being a cantankerous bastard.) #arcane idol (later given the provisional classification UB-00 'vision') is... not from the desert. #it's very far from home actually. unlike drill (who's known lagen for years) it's a recent addition to the team #but listen when you're as lost as it is? you take kindness where you can find it. #(and its ability to fire lasers and snowball stat boosts comes in handy in a pinch.) #oh btw laggaan is trans and top surgery hasn't been invented yet but that's a post for another day #or maybe never because i think tumblr automod would send me to the shadow realm. #ps apologies for the watermark i just wanna make it marginally harder to use my work in a dataset. lol
