RECAP: PROLOGUE & CH. 1

Prologue: A LEGENDARY COMMENCEMENT

Eighteen Gijinkas wake up in the middle of a field in Zone One. They have vague memories of heading to Hopes Peak Academy, but they don’t know what they’re doing there. They break away to explore the area and meet one another, but one Gijinka, Sasha Suzumaru (Fletchinder) flies above them all to scout out the area. He is met with some push back.

He is saved from certain death after he falls, but it is clear that there is a barrier that is trapping them all. 

The others explore, but Sasha hatches a plan to break down the large wooden gate at the end of the field. Ayaka Sato (Smeargle) goes on a quest to find a proper move, and ends up sketching Aura Sphere off of Hanami Yamaguchi. When the 18 are finally prepared to bust down the gate, something throws itself off the defaced Waterfall Rock.

Said thing introduces itself as Monoursa, Guardian of The Park. He chastises the gijinkas for trying to break his things and attempting to leave the park he’s so nicely prepared for them. However, he offers an ultimatum. If they truly have the resolve and the reason to leave, then all they have to do it kill somebody. Monoursa is attacked by an enraged Izo Eisuke (Poochyena), Chika Utsonomiya (Spinda) and later by Hanami. He uses godly powers to easily defeat them, before giving the Gijinkas the Monodex. This device contains all sorts of rules, as well as report cards with all the Gijinkas. As his final gift he also opens the gate they were trying to destroy, giving them all access to the Central Zone.

Chapter One: THE DOUBLE TIME LEAVES TWO BEHIND

The Gijinkas explore the new area, and their cabins within the massive tree. Sasha attempts to band everyone together for a meeting in the dining hall, but it’s crashed by Monoursa, who establishes it as a new meeting place for everyone. Relationships begin to blossom, particularly between Izo and Mimasuya Jiroh (Vaporeon). Sasha and Iichi Nijuu (Type: Null) Have a confrontation after he failed to attend Sasha’s meeting. Iichi reveals he can’t read, and that he’s actually an experiment created by scientists named ACHH-0021. Sasha and Kyokubo Gousabi (Dhelmise) and her friend Tsukise Uwata (Clefairy) bury all the weapons they can find to attempt to prevent a murder. Ezekiel Greene (Gengar) and Jiroh start developing a relationship too, though Zeke and Izo are still on rocky terms. Zeke decides to throw a party to get morale up, and while Sasha gets grumpy and ruins the mood a bit, it’s a relative success. 

Monoursa calls everyone to the dining hall and delivers the first official motive. If someone kills another Gijinka, not only will they leave the park, they’ll also get the powers of a Legendary, a god. He asks for a legendary’s move to prove he can do this, and at Kyokubo’s ill thought request, performs Spacial Rend. He leaves everyone with the motive and another taste of his power. Sasha finds a very worse for wear Ayaka going through a brutal training regiment given by her parents, and takes her to the dining hall, and help sort her out with Jiroh and Izo.

Then, one day... the first body drops. The victim is Nona Ria (Unown). Monoursa shows up to reveal the existence of the investigation and the trial, after which everyone investigates.

At the trial, everyone is inclined to think Sasha was the blackened, however he swears he’s innocent and was framed. It’s made clear that the mysterious breeze wasn’t from his move, but from Nona’s Hidden Power (Flying). His feathers were also likely stolen from his room and planted. Then everyone began their search for the actual killer, piecing together the whole mystery on the way. Ayaka gives a Closing Argument, summing up the case as follows:

The killer found the stash of weapons that Sasha and Kyokubo buried, as well as the missing fourth axe, which they used to kill Nona on the bridge. However, there was a struggle, and Nona used their hidden power, blowing the killer’s necklace into the river before they could finish the Unown off. They took the chainsaw from the pile and rubbed it with berry juice, making it look like the murder weapon, while they tossed the axe into a tree in the orchard. To cover their tracks they framed Sasha, the only other Gijinka with a flying type move, by creating notes on everyone but him and disposing of them in his room, planting his feathers all over the scene, and taking weapons from a stash he knew the location of. They also planted a spooky note for good measure. 

In the end, all these clues led to one Gijinka: Brax Yoshi (Braxien)

Brax was highly mocking and seemingly uncaring about what she did, which she did mainly to escape being trapped, out of fear she’d finally be caught for all her tax evasion. However, in a moment of seriousness she warned everyone to learn to care. Everyone voted for her as the killer, which was correct. Monoursa then sent her to her execution, and her fear became sincere as she realized the punishment was real. 

Her punishment was Twirling Among the Stars! An execution which led to her being twirled around in a glass baton in the sky until she had broken many of her bones, including her neck.

With that, the first trial of the Legendary Game of Mutual Killing had ended, but upon exiting the waterfall, the surviving Gijinkas were met with this:

Mew, an actual god, appeared before them. However, they appeared like a specter, were completely unresponsive and unable to talk in anything more than mournful cries. Monoursa seemed surprised, and started yelling about how it was his park, and that Mew could do nothing to stop him. 

Thus, Chapter One of Pokemonpa: Legends Ascending ended.

Oh, that’s for this crossover rp of mine! It’s between pokemon and danganronpa. Essentially Kyokubo (green) killed someone mostly by accident and was executed because of this, which killed them. Tsukise (pink) managed to enter the execution and revive them with the move Healing Wish, at a great personal cost. I made it to show the group as part of the end of the trial!
