puppies are SO much work and they only get harder 🧍 my 5 and a half month old German shepherd pup is starting to push boundaries and she is still biting a good bit (less than she was, but in a different way now) and is starting to try and ignore me despite my best efforts.

Anybody got any tips/support/it gets better words for me? 😭😭😭 the puppy blues are REAL. German shepherds have an extremely bad reputation where I live and I actually haven’t personally met good ones so I just have a lot of worries. WAH!!!!!

#dogblr #dog training #buttons are so gimmicky to me #because the dog presses the button because they get a response out of the human #either positive or negative #NOT because they actually understand how to form sentences in such a day #I can say ‘do you want dinner?’ to my dogs and they understand #only because I say it every day before I give them #dinner #I could say ‘do you want lettuce?’ and then feed them kibble #and the response would be the same #meanwhile my dogs ask for food in a very specific way #the way the stand asking to go out to play vs potty is different #dog buttons that go beyond simple one word requests such as indicating to go out #are dubious at best and so lazy when it comes to learning to read your dog’s body language #like sometimes my dogs stress yawn during training #but that’s usually an indicator for me that I’m going too long #or not being clear enough with what I’m asking #so I typically step back and reevaluate at that point
