HARRY DU BOIS -- "Erm, so don't get mad but..."

JEAN VICQUEMARE -- The satellite-officer glares at him, permanently frustrated. Letting out a mixture of a groan and a sigh, he motions for Harry to continue speaking.

HARRY -- "I might have broken your favourite coffee mug. There was a bug bothering me. My bad."

BROKEN COFFEE MUG -- Pieces of its porcelain corpse lay there against the wall, its brown, bitter blood splattered across and above the floor. This innocent victim didn't ask for such a brutal fate.

JEAN -- An unusual calm goes over his face, as he states, "Okay." He proceeds to open random drawers, looking under tables, checking his pockets... like he's searching for something.

HARRY -- When he observes Jean, he tilts his head and scratches it, asking, "Hey, what are you doing?"

JEAN -- His eye twitches, and it is revealed that the previous 'calm' is a mere facade. His voice gradually rises to a yell, "Oh. I'm just looking for where you found the AUDACITY!"

HARRY -- Time to defend himself, two can play at that game! He matches Jean's volume, "Oh, come on! I'm getting a replacement, and I said I was SORRY."

JEAN -- "Stop fucking around with my SHIT!"

HARRY -- "NEVERRR!!!"

i’m coming to realize that most ppl draw jean with resting Angry expression, which. ok, sure. that is definitely how his tone of voice and attitude comes across in-game. but in his portrait he has THE saddest eyes ever!! from now on i am going to commit to drawing him more sad. visually, i mean. not the situational. he’s had enough to deal with already.

a quick aside though— i am starting to appreciate jeangst fics now that his character does not ick me out in the way he used to…! i love pre-martinaise lore i love stupid pointless banter i love imagining how the décomptage partnerings will work with kim added to the precinct i love the odd sense of community amongst all these toxic losers, raaarrrgghhhhh (ok someone get me away from this game for a minute)
