If you think about it. The GSC protagonist and rival are Ken Sugimori's human!AU versions of Pulseman and Veil. Like look at them:

GameFreak's Pulseman is on NSO Expansion Pass' Sega Genesis lineup now! It's a really neat pre-Pokémon gem of theirs that I highly recommend checking out!
Have a celebratory art of the title character!

fun fact: rockman manga and the jetter mars manga has the same author
Oh cool!
I remember I used to play the original MegaMan/RockMan games but they were kinda hard. Still fun! Also loved the CGI show. The music was so good, Protoman is also really cool...
And if these are the same author then I know it good LOL.
I should get back into MegaMan. Especially since I already really like PulseMan which was inspired by that...

obscure video game fact that I want to share here, too: the intro of Pulseman (1994), Game Freak's platformer for Mega Drive, contains dialogue that wasn't deciphered until 2016, as detailed in this video
this expands on the game's backstory of a scientist who falls in love with an AI, and gives up his humanity to be with her (resulting in the creation of their child Pulseman, the half-human, half-virtual protagonist)

Pulseman (Mega Drive / Sega Genesis):
“Before I tackle the next game with my typical level or character reviews, let me do a quick review to this underrated gem. Who knew that the team behind Pokemon could make a such a fun platformer. You know this is such a solid game, when my main critic is the fact that the whole game is so short. You can beat it around 1 hour. Still, a short and sweet adventure with a quite engaging story, interesting gimmicks, and a villain that looks like a younger version of Heihachi Mishima. What’s there not to love?”
PS: the gameplay used for this gifset is not mine. The original video belongs to the user: iPlay Retro, on Youtube.
