When it comes to something important early in the year, I automatically think of the Lunar New Year. As many celebrate the holiday throughout China, parts of Asia and Asian diaspora communities worldwide. This week’s celebration exits the year of the Ox and welcomes the start of the year of the Tiger. A lot may not know but celebrating the Lunar New Year is more than just the beginning of a new calendar cycle. It’s showcased as a time of reunion and rebirth, marking the end of winter and the start of spring. When it comes to the Chinese Zodiac animal that is honored this 2022 year is the mighty Tiger. In many Asian cultures, the tiger is the king of the jungle, yes! the tiger and not Simba.  Individuals who are born during the year of the tiger year are seen as natural leaders that are bold, brave, thrill-seekers that love the attention. What I find to relate this image and moment in time to what’s currently going on in our world, is how this holiday could become a federal holiday. By having a bill before congress could set this wonderful holiday into one here in the states. This would be a step forward with the including of a very special holiday into our world and how it would be a strong signal to the Asian American communities that call the US home. Since President Biden already signed a bill that establish Juneteenth as a federal holiday last June. This would be an iconic bill to pass as well. The image I used I found through a Tumblr user. I love the cartoon they used of a cute tiger with its beautiful stripes and how it was plastered right in the center of a red background that has been associated with the holiday.

Another iconic moment that I celebrated this year was the year 2022! After dealing with a tragic 2020 and a so, so 2021.  I decided that I wanted to ring in my new year with my besties in style! In style we did!  In a time where this on-going pandemic has caused not only me but the world, tons of headaches (no pun intended). In the beginning of the pandemic, I didn’t get to spend time too much with my gang. We missed out on creating new memories and spending quality time together. I am a people person and besides my family, and pet cat named Magnum. My friends are extremely important to me… I am talking over a decade of great memories with these peeps, I call friends. The photo that I find to be iconic and from over the holiday is this photograph that my buddy Jessie snapped of me and my It-girlie, Zoe at their home in Encino on New Year’s Eve.  I think the photograph captured our true silly selves being in the moment. We both had a bit of bubbly in our system at this point and we we’re excited to ring in the new year fully vaccinated and together as one big happy family!  The happiness that was captured in the picture shows how excited we were, and I absolutely love my friend’s outfit of choice for new year’s. It’s very shiny and vibrant on her bronzed skin. We stand out in front of the lit Christmas tree behind us. A little peace sign thrown in the bunch as well. Symbolizing peace, love and happiness ( and the importance of staying connected with loved ones).

For the stereotype thingie: The Danish are the happiest people in the world~ :D

DERP! Definitely not applying to me xD I think that was before stuff started to change. I think the main reason tests say danes are the happiest people in the world is our free health care and that school and any kind of education is free and you even get paid for going to school from high school and anything after :3 Though our taxes are therefore also very high and especially the job situation in Denmark is not very well after a financial crisis happened some years ago; So it can be rough living in Denmark right now, though of course compared to many other countries, even our "poor" people are able to live an okay decent life.
