hi !! ok so i got this rb on my post with a screenshot of mariah’s tweet abt jon matteson signing the mariah ethan petition and i figured i respond to it cause ive seen other people saying similar things.

firstly, i didn’t create the actual petition, idk if this person thought i did but i thought i’d just make that clear. the person who created it did use my art and they tagged me so that’s how i originally found out abt it.

anyway, i basically agree with everything said here, i don’t expect mariah to take over the role, i dont WANT mariah to take over the role, i love joey ethan and when i drew mariah ethan my only intention was to create a fun little hc that could stay within the fandom. and that’s still my intention, i love seeing art of her and ppl talking about her but i don’t want mariah to actually take joeys role.

however. i realize that a lot of stuff ive said probably comes across like i do want her to replace the role which is mostly why im making this post bc i don’t. want people to think that. and i am sorry if anything i said or did was disrespectful, i did not mean to but i can see how the petition situation definitely was and i apologize.

specifically with the post this rb is on, i was honestly a little weirded out by the petition as well, i talked about it with some friends and we kind of came to a general consensus that it was kind of toeing the line of disrespectful but overall that it wasn’t a huge deal. and when jon apparently signed it and mariah tweeted about it i figured the actors didn’t mind too much either, so i made that post just being like “wow the actual actors are engaging with our silly bits again.” that’s all i meant to convey with that post, i figured the petition was just a bit that would last a day or two and then everything would go back to normal. which is pretty much what happened i think

Anyway. this is so long sorry but my main points are that my intention with mariah ethan is just a silly little hc and im sorry for being disrespectful and making it seem like i was trying to genuinely switch the casting.

and basically like. directed at the general public, don’t actually try to pressure starkid or mariah into doing anything! we can have joey ethan and also have our mariah ethan hc and love them both!

Quick and short post because I'm insanely tired but I want to post an update.

I stumbled upon a video on youtube the other day and it has sparked a lot of motivation in me to draw again, on a physical medium- pencils & paper (as opposed to an art tablet).

She's a really good teacher and her tips are great.

I went on a bit of a vid watching spree, absorbing several of her vids afterwards. I have sooooo many of these materials already from past hobbies so that's a plus.

Not just that but RedBubble decided to mail out another e-mail saying they increased the fee cost of their tiers, yet again. So that's been under my skin, nagging away at me a bit.

Today I decided to do something about it after mulling it around in my mind for so long. It's been half a year at least now? And I haven't been able to make up my mind on what to do?

Well I opened an account with Printful and I've been slowly making the conversion over, integrating it with my Etsy shop (yeah I know, Etsy isn't much better but it's the lesser of two evils).

It's tedious and my head hurts. I feel drained. I haven't even touched the edge of the iceberg where my designs are concerned. There's still so many more to go... ☠️

And I haven't even converted or altered any to fit their templates yet. I'm just uploading over my transparent PNGs! This is going to be one heck of a ride. But once it's done... it's done. And I'll be happier for it.

RedBubble, you better hope people are not as determined and angsty as I am cause you're going to lose hella people if they are. You guys screwed up.

Like, I thought you screwed up before, but man you dug yourselves a grave this time. You better go and lie in it.

Just to give perspective, for an Artist in "Redbubble Standard" tier who earned a 25$ paycheck in a month used to get charged an 11$ fee. That's 43%. Couldn't change their tier. It progressively scales worse, and all us RB sellers thought that was bad.

Now with their new system, that they tried to phrase and play off as "We're only increasing it by a dollar" bologna, is significantly worse.

If you make 25$ a month in "Redbubble Standard" tier, you get charged a 17$ fee. That's 67%. And it continues to rise at an insane rate- bordering the 70% range.

They're greedy. They don't care for artists. They deserve to lose all of the artists under their site because they clearly don't listen to feedback from the very people who are the structure and foundation of their website; that being the artists AND the buyers.

The buyers are just as furious with these changes as the artists. They openly voiced it so when these tiers were introduced and most these buyers ARE the artists themselves.

But anyways, I'm going to sleep 😖

I have more things to post tomorrow, for another 12+ hours, most likely 🫠

sooo an update on my physical and mental health!

mentally im just really, really, really, stressed, but i thought i was handling it fairly well! it wasn't until i got to the office yesterday, when people started expressing concern for my well being, that i realized i may be a bit sicker than i thought. i checked in the bathroom mirror and noticed that my face is more grey, i have grey in my hair now, and i don't fill out my pants anymore. when i went home i rushed to weigh myself and made the distressing discovery that i have lost 20 lbs in two months. i am apparently more sick than i realized.

thankfully, work seems to be accommodating of this (in part because im one of five competent people here). the vice president begged me yesterday to take a vacation as soon as i'm done training the new guy, so there's that. i'm just quite concerned for my well being atm. i hope you'll all understand.
