little intro post here i go,,

so like, in regards to what this account is, i do already have a blog for my wolf kintype but this kintype feels so wildly different from that despite them both being canines that i wanted to make this one to talk about being dogkin in particular

this blog will probably turn out to be me documenting experiences and collecting things related to me being dogkin, not sure if it's related to regression or if I'm puppykin to be more specific so while I'm figuring that out as well there'll be references to sfw petre and agere here

as for what i am it's... complicated?? with my wolf kintype i was able to look at subspecies and ancestors very easy and for now my working theory is I'm a eurasian wolf (canis lupus lupus)

but all dogs are just canis lupus familiaris so when i realised i felt such a strong connection with and was identifying as both a golden retriever and a nova scotia duck tolling retriever it was kind of unclear to me at the time if they were separate identities or something similar to a clade where both subspecies had the same ancestors and were genetically similar

however !! i did some digging, and from my research it seems that tollers and goldens were descended from very similar ancestors (spaniels and early retrievers to be specific) at similar times just in different places

so here i am :) a golden retriever and tolling retriever somehow mixed into one being (could be a mixed breed as well i just don't know enough yet, maybe I never will but that's okay ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯)
