Elated at this incident, the Athenians at one word gave a cheer, and dashed at the enemy, who, embarrassed by his mistakes and the disorder in which he found himself, only stood for an instant, and then fled for Panormus, whence he had put out. The Athenians following on his heels took the six vessels nearest them, and recovered those of their own which had been disabled close inshore and taken in tow at the beginning of the action; they killed some of the crews and took some prisoners. On board the Leucadian which went down off the merchantman, was the Lacedaemonian Timocrates, who killed himself when the ship was sunk, and was cast up in the harbour of Naupactus. The Athenians on their return set up a trophy on the spot from which they had put out and turned the day, and picking up the wrecks and dead that were on their shore, gave back to the enemy their dead under truce. The Peloponnesians also set up a trophy as victors for the defeat inflicted upon the ships they had disabled in shore, and dedicated the vessel which they had taken at Achaean Rhium, side by side with the trophy. After this, apprehensive of the reinforcement expected from Athens, all except the Leucadians sailed into the Crissaean Gulf for Corinth. Not long after their retreat, the twenty Athenian ships, which were to have joined Phormio before the battle, arrived at Naupactus. Thus the summer ended.

Youngest amongst his brothers, Steve has always felt the loneliness that comes with ruling the dead. Tony rules above the skies alongside his new wife, Bucky rules the open sea and has had countless entanglements. But him? He has to deal with dead people everyday and only talks to Sam and Scott most of the time. As much as he likes those guys, Steve craves something more.

Steve has found himself in the situation where he no longer wishes to rule the dead any longer, though he knows he has no choice. He has longed for someone to be by his side, a Queen and someone to love unconditionally, for what feels like forever. With war springing up between Sparta and Athens, he feels more and more miserable everyday.

In 429 BC, the Battle of Rhium was taking place in the Gulf of Patras when Steve was visiting his brother, Bucky, god of the sea. The gods watched on as the Peloponessian fleet quickly began to lose their upper hand against the Athenians, when Steve caught the eye of one warrior. They captained their own ship, which didn’t bear the same red flag as the other Peloponnesian ships, and worked their way through one Athenian ship after another. Fascinated, Steve watched as an Athens ship rammed up against the rogue fighter, and the captain easily jumped into battle. Hoping over the platform of the bridge, he watched as this warrior effortlessly slayed any Athenian to come on board. A battle of their own had broken out, and even amongst the biggest of men, the captain held their own. It was because of this one ship, one crew, that the Peloponessians did not lose that night. And when Steve caught a glimpse at the woman underneath the Spartan helmet, he was captivated.

CRESPHONTES

In Greek mythology, Cresphontes was a great-great-grandson of Heracles who helped lead the fifth and final attack on Mycenae in the Peloponnesus. Cresphontes complained to the oracle that their instructions had proved fatal to those who had followed them (the oracle had told them to attack through the narrow passage when the third fruit was ripe). He received the answer that by the "third fruit" the "third generation" was meant, and that the "narrow passage" was not the isthmus of Corinth, but the straits of Rhium. A decisive, battle was fought with the chief ruler in the peninsula, who was defeated and slain, and Cresphontes became king of Messene. .

A new comic ahoy! I'm very excited to show you this sudden passion project that hit me late last year. It's a comic that takes place in the same world as Step Aside predating it by several hundred, if not thousands, of years. While these works aren't direct sequels, Apathy's story leaves great ramifications to Step Aside's story as well. The style of this comic isn't my usual painterly one, but I hope this makes me able to create pages faster for your enjoyment! We'll see how long it really takes for me to get faster at doing lineart though... That being said, I hope you enjoy what I've come up with here! I can't wait to see your reactions!
