Speculation: all of the AUs that Asriel is observing have a few things in common with inverted fate: Rupturedtale features a friendly flowey, Altered Destiny made contact with Inverted Fate in canon, albeit VERY short, Fracturedtale's Chara is similar to Inverted Fate Chara in A LOT of aspects, what if he is trying to make the PERFECT timeline using inspiration from those AUs?

That's an interesting way to tie things together! Admittedly, the AUs we featured were submitted to us through a form we made months ago. It was kept to smaller communities of AU creators just to avoid getting overwhelmed and, well... spoilers. I'm not sure if we're gonna open it to more public submissions simply because it'd be easy to get overwhelmed, so we've mostly been poking creators of fanworks we have some familiarity with, etc.

If the Empathy soul had a dedicated "Soul Mode" like the Shooter Mode for Justice or Platformer Mode for Integrity ect ect, what would it be like?

This was suggested by other people, but the most basic idea for it that I recall was the ability to predict enemy attacks. Going a bit further I could I see it as an overhaul of the entire battle system. Maybe something akin to Shin Megami Tensei and/or Deltarune where you get access to spells and a TP bar, and you're encouraged to find enemy weaknesses through ACT commands. Part of this is already reflected in Rupturedtale proper, as most Act commands that Jack has are mostly him negotiating and bargaining with monsters instead of just outright doing weird funny shit like Frisk.

Do you consider yourself picky when it comes to Undertale fanworks?

So picky. xD; Characterization is a big make it or break it thing for me on top of generally not being into a lot of things that are more popular in the fandom- e.g. your Sans AUs, most outcode stuff (though I do like the ALIVE comic), any geno-focused stuff is a hard sell for me, as well as most save Asriel fancontent (though I do respect Dreemurr Reborn, enjoy Ask Fallen Royalty, and mostly enjoy Growth Spurt, Alphys' characterization notwithstanding).

I'm not saying any of this to bash, mind you, but I have very particular tastes and the kinds of fanworks I enjoy best are ones with strong characterization that explore more than just the skelebros, Gaster, or Asriel, that are still at least somewhat grounded in UT's world/setting (e.g. not big on AUs that might as well be fully original IPs), and idk... Some of what I like is hard to put into words?

But the kinda stuff I LIKE is TS Underswap, Scramble Saga, Ask Fallen Royalty, Name the Fallen, Rupturedtale, Undertoad (the canon), etc. Stuff that feels true to the spirit of Undertale but still has its own creative identity or concepts.
