this is going under a cut because i’m providing a description AND excerpt for each fic which is. a lot

the cold hard truth is the only one i need to keep quiet about. it’s a one shot that’s going to be published after true successor is over. it spoils the entire fic so i can’t talk much about it but i WILL say this: it’s L’s pov :)

L shot the pen into the pile of junk as his vision blurred. Is this what his mother had seen all those years ago? That bright, beautiful light? The bells. Those bells that cried out death and despair. The bells he could almost hear now.

“No…”

late-night confessions is the fic i write whenever i want to write but am too drained/sick to think about actually writing. it’s basically a post-yotsuba arc story where light confesses his love to L. original.

“I dreamt that I killed you.”

“This isn’t helping your innocence, Light.”

“I don’t think that you understand,” Light growled, “I dreamt that I walked into this room as you slept and stabbed you thirty-seven times in the heart as your blood soaked through my skin. You didn’t even scream as the color drained from your face. Do you know how terrifying that is to think about?”

a game of lying monsters is… interesting. it’s written kind of like LABB, but instead of mello talking about beyond, it’s L talking about light.

The monster that I am is cunning. He stalks his prey meticulously before making his moves. He poses as a friend in an attempt to lower their guard. I am the world’s greediest, most despicable monster. Worse than Beyond Birthday, murderer of men and children alike. Worse than my dearest father, who left my mother and I for dead without warning. And most definitely worse than Kira, the world’s “just” killer of inmates and criminals. My mind is a house to evils beyond imagination. And yet, I still declare myself to be righteous.

the next fic is my kira!lawmane au. it has a name but i think the current title is funnier. anyways it’s a pretty basic premise

“Ah, my apologies, Amane-san. Your clothing and personal items were confiscated due to your confinement,” A beat, “Please forgive me, it was necessary for our cover.”

Misa smiled, “Don’t worry about it! And please, just call me Misa!” Misa grabbed onto L’s hand, causing his face to be dusted in a faint pink.

“R…Right,” L stuttered, “Of course, Misa-chan.”

“Ooh!~” Ryuk sing-songed, “She’s ‘Misa-chan’, huh?”

look me in the eyes and call me your love is a bit experimental. it’s basically a second person story where the reader is light going through his execution. the issue? L is the one escorting him there. i haven’t written L’s part yet though whooops

You’ve grown used to the cuffs wrapped around your wrists and ankles; grown used to the yellowed walls surrounding you and those metal bars keeping you from the outside world.

You’ve been here before, of your own will. You thought you’d never end up here again. But alas, you have once again fallen under the watchful eye of the camera placed in front of you.

finally, my amnesiac!light au. this one actually doesn’t have a name lol. anyways, you may be thinking “but vari, light already loses his memory!” haha! you fool!

What were they going to do to him?

The voice spoke again. “Light, this is a terrible act and horribly unlike you. Are you alright?”

He looked up at the camera, raising an eyebrow. “Who’s Light?”

WUIDID I POSED THIS IN SEPTEMBER 2021 AND THIS AS MT FIRST ORIGINAL POST STOP LIKING IT LMAO

- Misa's Pansexual, like idk- she just gives off Pan vibes to me lol

- L's Asexual Aromantic, I don't see him really pursuing a relationship like ever? Even tho I do half ship Lawlight lmao. I'd say he's also gender nonconforming (I think that's what it's called?) cuz like, he just doesn't seem like he'd care about what gender people perceive him as.

- So for Light, I think Asexual. I want to say either Homoromantic or Biromantic- don't listen to me ok, I don't think about this man's sexuality a lot 🤫

- I'd say Sayu is Bi because like she had a crush on Hideki Ryuga and then it seems like she had a mini crush on Misa so like 👀

- So like I saw someone's (I forget who's) art for like pride month and they hc Wedy as Trans and I very much agree- I'd also say she's lesbian (I don't remember if the art had that too). We didn't see much of her character tho but she's cool

- Mello's just gay, idk

- Matt's also Pan, just Pan vibes-

- Near's Asexual as well. I don't see sheep being attracted to someone sexually tbh. Not sure what else hshsh

- Matsuda is bi because like, the one scene or panel or whatever it's called in the manga where they talk about his "wish", maybe he had a crush on Light? He also found Sayu attractive so aaaa

- Ryuk is gay, he especially loves men who wear apple underwear or well anything apple related (this hc comes from a friend and I's roleplay, don't ask lmfao)

I believe Rem being Lesbian is Canon so like that doesn't count as a hc.

OOH ldkfjsdk good q!!! hmmmmm i’d sayyyy…. well i hate my skin for sure i have very sick skin a;lskd ive seen the inside of too many dermatology offices. i can also get sort of insecure about my writing sometimes because its so important to me!!

Ryuk: Are you more likely to get involved or to watch things play out?

oh i think it depends a;sdlfkj i HATE confrontation passionately, but there are situations in which ik i have to say something. RECENTLY i opened my dumb mouth LOL aldkfj bc ok in this class this dude posed this question and was like ‘say everyone was like, middle class and had the basics for happiness. would anyone then care that there are billionaires bc IM middle class and I dont care abt billionaires’ and so i just raised my hand and was like ‘well i think your question is irrelevant bc that just wouldn't’ happen its not the nature of capitalism if there’s billionaires that means there HAS to also be extreme poverty and inequality bc that’s how capitalism works, which is why its a broken system. the existence of billionaires is immoral in and of itself’ and the class like EXPLODED. people were out for my head on a PLATE. one dude was literally so enraged he was SHAKING when he raised his hand to fight me back. LOL a;lksdjfs so somehow i sparked this violent reaction and maybe i should have just kept my thoughts to myself LOL

Who spends almost all their money on the other?Well, L is canonically wealthy to an obscene degree, so I imagine he buys Light things that he’s barely even expressed an interest in. XD It’s just that he can’t actually hit “almost all” of his money because... he has soooo much money. XD

Who sleeps in the other’s lap?Light sleeps in L’s lap most often. L insists on working through the night most nights, so Light sometimes joins him in their office and goes back to sleep, tucked in a blanket with his head on L’s lap. Sometimes L runs his fingers through Light’s hair when he thinks he’s fallen asleep.

Who walks around the house half-naked and who yells at them to put on some clothes?Honestly, probably L. Light is waaaay too uptight to do something like that. (And if he did, L would probably be into it lol)

Which one tells the other not to stay up all night and which one stays up all night anyway?Light tells L to go to sleep allllll the time. L never listens. (Sometimes he passes out, but it’s never by choice.)

Which one tries to make food for the other but burns it all by accident and which one tells them that it’s okay and makes them both cookies?I doubt L can cook, but Light seems like the type of boy who’d learn to bake and cook and everything. ^^ His mom probably taught him.

Which one reads OTP prompts and says “Oh that’s us!” and which one goes “Eh, not really”?I think Light actually reads cute relationship things, and L thinks they’re all hilarious (and wrong).

Which one constantly wears the other’s clothes?I think Light tends to wear L’s clothes more, because L seems to be picky about what he wears. (Unless we go by my HC that he puts on most of the weird to be off-putting AT Light, but either way, he doesn’t seem likely to wear Light’s clothes, unless it’s to annoy him.)

Which one spends all day running errands and which one says “You remembered [thing], right?”Light runs errands and L is an ass about it, lol

Which one drives the car and which one gives them directions?L drives, and Light gives directions (aggressive backseat driver)

Which one does the posing while the other one draws?I... don’t know. I don’t know that either of them can draw. Maybe Light poses for L? *shrugs*

If they were about to rob a museum, which one does backflips through lasers and which one is strolling behind with a bag of chips?I know I’m expected to say Light eats the chips (lol) but let’s be real. Light Yagami created an incendiary device to protect a notebook. Light would absolutely do the stupid flippy things. And L would laugh and snack.

Which one of your OTP overdoes it on the alcohol and which one makes the other stop drinking?I think Light seems more likely to drink than L. I can’t explain it, but it has to do with my HCs about what he eats, I guess. Anyway, Light is also hella tightly wound, so he might be prone to overdoing it when he finally lets loose.

Which one likes to surprise the other with a lot of small random gifts?Hm, I think L probably. Light seems like more of a grand gesture kind of guy, imo. Weirdly enough XD

Which one keeps accidentally using the other’s last name instead of their own?Uh, probably Light? But with fake names? XD

Which one screams about the spider and which one brings the spider outside?Light brings it outside (because he’s not human), and L doesn’t “scream” he just... reacts. A lot.

Which one gives the other their jacket?I don’t know if L even OWNS a jacket, so I think Light probably gives L his jacket, but only if L is being really annoying.

Who keeps getting threatened by the other’s overprotective older sibling?Neither? Sayu is just... weirdly invested in the relationship going well (since her brother has never been in love before), and the successors... Well, they probably threaten Light actually. Especially Mello. Love that volatile kid.

Who’s the first one to admit they have feelings for the other?L. He is infinitely more honest than Light is. (I know. Shocking.)

How good would your OTP be at parenting?Not at all. Light might be good at planning, but he is... the worst at genuine feelings. He should not be a father. And L can barely take care of himself, let alone a child.

Which one types with perfect grammar and which one types using numbers as letters?Light uses perfect grammar, and L only uses bad grammar and numbers as letters to annoy him. XD He texts everyone else normally.

Who gets attacked by a bully and who protects them?Uh... Neither. I don’t think either apply here, really. Light wouldn’t be bullied, and L could kick the shit out of the bully.

Who makes the bad puns and who makes a pained smile every time the other makes a pun?“Yes, that would be dark.” (L makes the puns, Light hates them.)

Who comes home from work to see that the other one bought a puppy?Look, I’m not saying L would want a puppy, but L would want a puppy. (Light and Watari take care of it.)

Which one gives the other a piggyback ride when they’re tired?L carries Light, I think. ^^ He seems stronger, imo

Which one competes in some sort of activity and which one does the overzealous cheering?Uhhhhh Yeah, nah, those two both join the same activity and battle to the death on opposite sides. Even for things with no winner or loser and things where they’re on the same team. XD They live to compete with each other.

Who takes a selfie when the other one falls asleep on their shoulder?Light, probably. L likes how they look, but always makes him delete them.

Which one would give the other a makeover if they asked?Light would give L a makeover I guess? I don’t know actually.

Which one owns a pet that the other is absolutely terrified of?Uh, does Ryuk count as a pet?

Which one holds the umbrella over both of them when it rains?Light. ^^ (L doesn’t seem like he uses umbrellas...)

If your OTP went on vacation, where would they go and what would they do? Who would take the pictures?Hm, I think they could feasibly go anywhere on a case, but I think Light would like older cities with a lot of museums, and L would like places out of the way, where nothing much happens, like an island or something. And Light would take pictures of the sights, but no pictures of the two of them. Since... L is L. (If L wasn’t L, Light would still take the pictures.)
