Do your ocs have like bean paws? I don’t think they have them on their hands, but what about their feet? Sorry if it’s a bit weird!

They do have paw pads on their hands and feet! This is just a quick messy sketch but hopefully it sort of illustrates the look I personally go for with my anthros.

#in my head the texture of the pads corresponds human palms and soles #I just feel like it'd be very inconvenient if they were as hard and rough as some dogs have #grabbing stuff effectively would be very tricky not to mention any work that requires precision and delicate touch #dexterity and fine motor skills would suffer #my characters can be drawn with either plantigrade or digitigrade feet it varies by piece #but since it's very difficult to put shoes on the latter and I like to play dress up #my dogs usually sport the plantigrade form that is more compatible with human garments #Vaschete lore #answered #anonymous

i recently (like 2-3 months ago) started trying to learn mandarin and i dont think ill ever be able to speak it... the tones seem too out of my reach

the characters are soooo fun to learn though i love looking at each ones history and the different versions that exist i didnt expect to like it so much

2-3 months seems a little premature to come to that conclusion! If you are self-studying, that may be where some of the hardship is. There are only 4 basic tones in Chinese and they basically go how they look:

ā (a flat tone, like when you stick your tongue out at the doctor's office; "aah")

á (rising tone: "ah?")

ǎ (this one is the hardest to describe but you basically bring the sound down heavy into your chest and then ease off gently, and do it faster. It's a bit more like "ah⤷⤻" rather than "AH! ↘︎ Ah? ↗︎" but going heavy on "ah! ah?" at first will probably be fine)

à (descending tone. "ah.")

The real thing to work on is pronouncing Chinese vowels and consonants because that's where problems of intelligibility arise. I would recommend just repeating these syllables a couple times when you're studying so you can become familiar with it, as a lot of them are not really used in English, and this is really where you'll get tripped up in spoken mandarin. Read aloud as you study! It might be difficult at first, but you'll get there eventually.

Forgive my asking, but what are you meant to do if you find hair in your food at a restaurant? Send the whole thing back to the kitchen? I'd of course send my food back over something larger or grosser, like a nail clipping, or multiple pieces of hair, but it seems like such a hassle for just one piece.

If you don’t mind Miss Kit, here’s a little morning AU Pitch:

In a galaxy where the Padawans aren’t allowed to become a knight without the getting the explicit OK from their Master, Obi-Wan has reached the ripe age of 25, becoming the oldest Padawan in the Order after getting denied YET again by Qui-Gon to become a Knight. (Reasons can be he either really doesn’t think Obi-Wans ready or he’s still scarred about his last failed apprentice (Xanatos)) On the cusp of the Clone Wars, his Master dies, leaving him a Masterless AND still a Padawan. The Council has thought he was ready since he was 23(or whatever), but could do nothing since Qui-Gon said no.

However, there is a freshly knighted Anakin Skywalker walking around who is in desperate need of a friend/guidance/partner and whose Master also conveniently just died. With the War just about to kick off, and frankly having little to no options when it comes to people who want an adult Padawan, they decide that the two are perfect for another. r(also they have to actually TRY and see why Qui-Gon wouldn’t let him become knighted, and actually let someone bond to investigate)

Not only will they be able to help each other past their grief while also (hopefully) becoming friends, but it’s not like Skywalker will want a 25 yr old Padawan following him around like a puppy for long. He’ll probably graduate Obi-Wan before the end of the day. Three birds with one stone; they’ll get another knight, Skywalker will get a friend, and Obi-Wan can finally stop having nightmares of still being a Padawan at 40. It’s perfect.

The only problem is it’s Anakin. And he’s had a crush on Obi-Wan since he was 9yrs old. With the Clone Wars about to start, why would he ever want Obi-Wan anywhere but by his side? And besides, now Obi-Wan will HAVE to notice him now. Will have to do what he says, listen to his commands, always look at him first for permission, call him MASTER…yeah, there’s no way he’s letting THAT go anytime soon.

That’s it! Anyways, thought it was cool idea that I saw in twt. Could be fluffy, could be dead dove or just dark or anything really. Like how funny would it be that Obi-Wan here, who is not only older, but calmer, and more level headed, leads a negotiation only to turn around and say ‘what do you think Master?’ The power trip Anakin would get is god tier lol

Light is a tragic character. Calling him tragic is valid. “He did it to himself” so what? “If I was him I would destroy the notebook” so what? Do people think that saying “tragic” immediately absolves the person of all crimes or what? There are different types of tragedy

EXACTLY. tragic does not equal morally righteous. light ruined his own life and it’s sad. it doesn’t matter what he did, people can still feel for him. finding the death note didn’t make him evil like a lot of people say, but it pushed his less than perfect ideals to the surface and allowed him to seal his own fate.

if you were in his shoes, you would use the notebook too. his ideals wouldn’t be erased even if he knew he would fail. he would still try, and that’s the tragedy behind light. he tries to make the world better through unjust methods and essentially dies by his own hand.

His breed is fictional, but it closely resembles modern day Ibizan hound. Both Silkens and Ibizans are sighthounds though, so you're not far off.

#answered #anonymous #silkens are a new breed they were developed (probably not the right term for it) in the late 80's early 90's #while sighthounds as a whole are some of the oldest surviving dog breeds #some have been around for thousands of years and changed very little #Machete's canon setting takes place in late 16th century so Silkens (or Whippets that were used to create them) wouldn't have been there #this is getting into splitting hairs territory but in dog society different breeds aren't really treated as distinct separate categories #like 99.9 % of the population is varying levels of mixed #Machete isn't a purebred but for clarity's sake I tend to just overlook that fact

In "Mirror Vs Open Closet Door: Fight!" by Gintrinsic (here) Four refers to the chain's decision on how to split up between inn rooms as the "Link-per-room ratio" which I find very funny. He, Sky, and Time also talk about their thought process behind why they do or don't want to sleep in a room with some of the others which I find fun and interesting.

Wild and Hyrule can get to chatting about everything and anything #so if Legend wants background noise (Hyrule and Wild podcast omg)- #or a conversation he can be half a part of and jump in and out of while getting ready for the night or in the mornings- #this is a good place to be. add Wind and things get a bit more chaotic. #Wind gravitates to Wars and Legend too when curious and chatty. He gravitates towards Time when he wants something calmer. #Four tends to be near Sky or Twi or to Legend's group for the same reasons #I can see Four and Twi having a little book club going during downtimes where they talk about what they're reading. Sky likes to listen. <3 #Wind thinks they're nerds but so is he and he can't resist a good story so he orbits and sometimes settles in and peppers questions. #it's funny that Time Sky and Wars want to sleep the most but Legend follows Wars to chat (and ends up bringing people with him xD ) #there could be some conflict there oooo #Twi is by Time #it's almost a circle but with clusters of sleeping bags near on top of each other and filling the gaps
