Just finished “Signs”!!

Augh, love TL, but S3 has seemed just a little uneven to me so far. Overstuffed in some places. A few character and plot contrivances that have either rung false—(the whole Michelle with the marriage counselor thing)—or flat to me here or there—(lol, everything about Shandy). But, God, when it hits something, it hits it out of the park.

This was Hannah Waddingham’s episode to me. Every feeling Rebecca had as she was in that waiting room, as she was in Dr. Wagner’s office, as she was texting Keeley, as she was reacting to the news, was utterly felt because of Hannah’s acting.

That exchange between her and Ted when they mixed-up names was so cute, and the fact that she wouldn’t even begin to entertain Higgins’ suggestion to fire Ted was perfect.

JACK AND KEELEY. BI 4 BI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’M HERE FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO NOTES. They have insane chemistry.

Lol, Zava was such a plot device. I really wish they had done something more interesting with him. His departure was underwhelming.

Every time Ted has a panic attack or comes close to doing so, it’s so upsetting to watch. Jason’s acting + the piercing sound design as the world fades away from him is harrowing. His passivity these last few episodes has been so sad and bleak and maybe even a little frustrating, and that’s the point. The man’s spiraling!! It’ll be a relief to me when someone notices or he confides in someone.

Nate and Jade were very cute!!!

The new Ted Lasso episode was lovely.

Hearing Rebecca and Rupert’s origin story made me sick. That man stalked her for six weeks. Her being a bartender was unexpected!!

I love Rebecca’s mom’s antics at a comedic level, but they also serve to reveal the continual dysfunction in her and Rebecca’s relationship. 😭

Trent Crimmmmmmm!!!!!! One of my fave side characters. Glad that they’ve found a fairly organic way to fold him into the bunch. And his storyline with Roy was really good in this episode. When Roy pulled that article out and made it clear that he’s been carrying it with him for decades, ever since he was seventeen-effing-years old, I was so hurt for him.

Jamie taking a leadership role in the team is great. He’s come such a long way. It seems like he’s the most reluctant for Zava to join the team, so it’ll be fun to watch that play out. Zava seems like he’s going to be like S1 Jamie and maybe even worse, lmao.

Loved the team reacting to Roy and Keeley’s breakup. So fucking funny, down to Beard’s gasp of surprise and Ted trying to faint. And Rebecca grabbing Keeley’s hand at the match was such a lovely touch. This being said, it’s hard for me to be really invested in the break up QKKWDJJE because it’s pretty clear that they’re gonna eventually get back together.

Hoping we get someone intervening with Jane and Beard’s relationship soon. That line about Jane being threatened by Beard’s relationship with Ted was 😬.
