Gavin was not made for mornings like this.

He was made for the darkness of night. Neon lights of dingy bars, hidden corners of alleyways, and messy, heated nights in pitch black bedrooms. Quick fixes to scratch the itches of mortals, easy supplements of emotion he needs to survive another night– always a means to an end.

Sure, the awkward morning-after was a custom he was more than familiar with. Sneaking out before his bedmate of the hour ever woke up had become a well-practiced art by now. Sometimes he even had the uncomfortable pleasure of seeing them off for the day, parting ways as he begins looking for another meal. Another way to get by.

It's never been anything like today.

The Freelancer sleeps peacefully at his side. It's their first true day off in what has felt like the eons they've had this routine together. With no work or classes to scramble off to today, they've given themself the gift of sleeping in.

It's a shame that he couldn't partake as well, but in this moment he can't find the means to care.

They've twisted themselves into a position that he thinks cannot possibly be comfortable. Half on their stomach, half on their back– facing him with the most serene expression he's ever had the pleasure of witnessing grace their face.

They're beautiful like this.

His eyes follow the outline of the parts of their body left exposed by the covers they've neglected in their sleep. The rise and fall of their back as they slowly breathe, the dark spots that bloom across their skin from their late night tryst, their hair wildly splayed against their pillow and draping delicately in their face.

Sunlight streams through the window, the morning light hits their frame so perfectly, the curves and angles of their body practically glowing in the warmth of the sun. He thinks he finally understands the meaning of true worship.

Gavin does not know much of human religion, not enough to know who to properly thank– but he will gladly give the proper kudos to every god, every sovereign in the stars, that guided him to his Freelancer.

His Freelancer...

There's a pang in his chest he's unfamiliar with when the thought passes through his mind. It's a little frightening.

He doesn't know how long he stays there and admires them. Eventually he watches as their body awakens, their eyes open to reveal the prettiest color he's ever seen.

When they gain their bearings, recognizing his form as he lays beside them, they flash a sleepy smile as another pang courses through his non-existent heart. One that he begins to welcome as they move to cuddle into him.

He's starting to believe that he could learn to love mornings as long as His Freelancer is beside him.

Concept:

Cutie was the child of a very messy divorce where one parent had sole custody which is why they don't understand or respect emotional boundaries cause a) they never learned how to have any and b) they learned the only way to know someone wasn't lying to you or trying to trick you was to read their mind. They were taught that snooping through people's heads was a fun game when in reality, their parent was just manipulating them for information to use against their other parent in court and now Cutie doesn't know how to actually talk to people and form a genuine connection.

Of which that results in a string if failed relationships because Cutie doesn't realize that their constant need for reassurance through invading people's privacy is a trauma response that they really need to talk to someone about.

Geordi still deserves better though, like honey do not take them back you deserve someone with at least of fragment of emotional understanding.

First off, I just wanna say I’m still in awe of just how much everybody seemed to like my drawing of Asher. Absolutely floored by the amount of likes that post has- and I’m thankful for every single one of them. Thank you guys so so much 🥺

Second- I’m back with more Redacted fanart. Was having a really bad artblock when it came to fanart so I took a break to chill and get those creative juices flowing again. And I’m super super happy with how this drawing came out. So since y’all enjoyed Ash so much, I hope you’ll like our beloved alpha just as much.

I drew David like… way back in November but I wasn’t happy with that drawing for a lot of reasons. So I decided to give him a redesign and I love it so much. I might tweak some colors in future designs but for now this is how I see David in my head.

I have a special attachment to Davey. His videos were the very first videos of Erik’s I stumbled upon. And his videos are those ones I find myself turning back to time and time again when I’m feeling down. So yeah, I really love this big grumpy guy. 😊

doing this amazing new thing called eating well EVERY DAY and drinking enough water EVERY DAY and trying to get a bit of a healthy walk in EVERY DAY and sleeping at least 7 hours EVERY DAY... and then looking at my Fitbit stats like a nerd to see what happens EVERY DAY... will let you know if anything interesting does happen

#because i need to take care of myself as well as my virtual pets and plants AT LEAST #but for some reason thats not nearly as fun #anyways fitbits are almost like gamifying self care to me #and so is reporting on things to my blog like a shitty scientist hahaha #i will say in the first few days of this my resting heart rate / heart rate variability has improved already #and i just feel better like. more steady with my energy/hunger and less thirsty for sure #my current meals are overnight oats + fruit and then like veggies and brown rice and chicken stir fries #just drinkin coffee and water and the occasional fresca #also some avocado eggs n toast if i want #not gonna lie i straight up asked ChatGPT to make me a meal plan that was healthy and not too expensive or hard to make hahaha #also one of my inspirations is watching the youtuber who makes bento boxes for her husband every day #i watch them as comfort asmr and they always make me want to cook something and pack a lunch #'imamu room' on YouTube seriously good stuff #i love the little catchphrase on her channel 'lets survive another week' hahaha #motivates me to want to DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN EVERY WEEK #p
