kaito is a japanese synth developed by crypton future media, and released on 14 feb 2006. kaito is voiced by Naoto Fuga, his v1 is illustrated by Takashi Kawasaki and his v3 by iXima. kaito is one of the "project daisy" vocals, beginning production when Vocaloid was still called "daisy project" (look at last years posts if you want a bunch of kaito lore/ facts, i dont have the characters to spare for it this year). kaito is also available in english. Yamaha lists his birthday as the 14th and crypton as the 17th so his birthday will be both of those days

uni is a korean synth developed by ST MEDiA, and released in 2017. her vp has not been revealed but shes designed by K170 and illustrated by OSUK2. uni is one of the only 2 korean vocaloids (with the only other one being seeu)

kokone is a japanese synth developed by internet co, and released in 2014. her vp has also not been revealed, but shes illustrated by AkkeyJin. kokone is capable of reaching some of the highest notes out of any Vocaloid as she was originally a failed attempt at a megpoid gumi falsetto vb

wei yang is a chinese synth developed by Tianyi Love Music Culture Technology Co., and released on 10 jan 2019. wei yangs character birthday is feb 14 however. he is voiced by paigujiaozhu and illustrated by Krenz

liee (aka Velirio Eden Nasaranta) is a japanese synth managed and voiced by julieraptor, and originally released on 7th aug 2020. liee is nonbinary and uses they/ he/ she pronouns. their different vbs are illustrated by different people, and the art im showing is by rev_bmp. liee is filipino, and has vbs also available in english and korean

Seymour Delaware (aka sey) is a japanese synth created and voiced by dav-p, and released on 19 jan 2023. seymour is a demiboy and uses he/ they pronouns. he is illustrated by C-Cream. seymour is aroace, african american, deaf, and selectively mute. they also have an instrumental vb made with a steel tongue drum

okay, let's try to identify all of the new gear in anon's brand-new-spanking signal chain, and see how much her total comes out to. values will be in both USD and JPY - not via direct currency conversion, but by prices I find online at american and japanese retailers respectively. (note that american retailers do not include tax in prices, but japanese retailers do. prices may also differ due to import/export costs.)

also thanks to @absolute-total-nonsense for helping me ID a bunch of these

the gray pedal at the top right is very clearly a tuner, displaying note information and pitch accuracy. it very clearly resembles the peterson line of StroboStomp pedal tuners, but is closest to the Peterson StroboStomp HD Pedal Tuner (MSRP $149.00 USD / ¥28,444 JPY).

the black pedal with green text, is, thankfully, clearly labeled. it is a Seymour Duncan Andromeda Dynamic Digital Delay pedal. there's a lot going on here! it clocks in at MSRP $299.99 USD / ¥44,000 JPY.

the next pedal to the right is similarly labeled with a distinct design, and is a Boot-Leg HZM 2.0 Quattro Valvole Distortion Pedal. it's our first Japanese-manufactured pedal in the signal chain, and doesn't have an official USD MSRP, but can be found for $135.00 USD, and is sold domestically for ¥21,120 JPY.

the next pedal was a bit hard for me to make out until I got a higher-quality screencap of the pedalboard and could actually read the label, but it's a Electro-Harmonix Soul Food Distortion/Overdrive Pedal. in the states, it clocks in at $101.60 USD. I couldn't find an exact MSRP for the pedal in JPY (perhaps due to it not being formally exported, speculatively), but I found it online for ¥16,088 JPY.

the text is a bit hard to read in the screencap for the next pedal, but the tricolor design and the seymour duncan logo is plain as day. it's the Seymour Duncan Forza (tm) Overdrive. it clocks in at MSRP $179.00 USD / ¥28,600 JPY.

the next few components that tie the signal chain are all Free The Tone products.

the large box is a Free the Tone ARC-3 Audio Routing Controller. it seems to be discontinued, but had a MSRP of approximately $599.00 USD / ¥63,800 JPY.

the input to the pedalboard is a Free the Tone Signal Junction Box JB-41S, priced at $159.09 USD / ¥18,000 JPY.

finally, the power supply is a Free the Tone Power Supply PT-5D, priced at MSRP ¥30,800 JPY, and seems to be resold for $309.99 USD.

so, not including any instrument cables, ac adapters, or the physical case for the pedalboard itself, anon's brand-new pedalboard is priced at a budget of a whopping $1932.67 USD + tax, or ¥250,852 JPY! damn, girl! do you really need that many different overdrive/distortion pedals!

BONUS:

anon's mini practice amp appears to closely resemble a Danelectro Honeytone N-10 Guitar Mini Amp, though the Honeytone text is ommitted and I don't believe it's ever been manufactured in pink. it's priced at $24.99 USD / ¥5,720 JPY.

hi! i just had a question regarding trhe principal seymour costume, because in the US/Canada/cruise productions the white corset is stiff, and "glassy" (Kelsee Kimmel, Amina Faye, Cecilia Snow) while the UK corset is more "fabricy" (Erin Caldwell & Claudia Kariuki.) why is the material different?

Well, it’s part material difference and part structure difference.

The glassy-ness/shine is mostly material difference. The US and UK makes have a lot of different materials in just about every costume, so that’s not anything unique. It’s just particularly noticeable/pronounced in the Seymour bodice. They’re still both vinyls, just with different finishes.

The biggest difference is construction. As @lightleckrereins says, the US makes are “stiffened to death,” or as I’d say they’re “stiffened to hell and back.” The US are structured to provide more of a corset style themselves, while the UK are structured more like a tight bodice (and use a separate corset underneath). Those different intended usages inform the construction, and by extension they use different methods/techniques to get to their respective intended styles.

Red Dragon will be released on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray on October 24 via Kino Lorber. Based on Thomas Harris' 1981 novel, the 2002 psychological thriller serves as a prequel to The Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal.

Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men: The Last Stand) directs from a script by Ted Tally (The Silence of the Lambs). Anthony Hopkins, Edward Norton, Ralph Fiennes, Harvey Keitel, Emily Watson, Mary-Louise Parker, and Philip Seymour Hoffman star. Danny Elfman composed the score.

Red Dragon has been newly mastered in 4K from the original camera negative with Dolby Vision/HDR as well as 5.1 Surround and 2.0 Lossless Stereo sound. Special features are listed below.

Six 2024 Production Guide!

New year means new opportunities for chaos for Six! I got a lot of great reviews from my Boleyn Tour update post, so I thought I'd do another one for what we know about Six going into 2024 - by production!

West End

Current cast is contracted until February 2025, so no major cast change this year

Natalie Pilkington is set to return as Universal Swing after being away for Panto

So far, no change in the alternate system (no second/third covers or alt costumes), but that very well could change

Broadway

Current cast is contracted for a year, so likely a December cast change again

The remaining 2.0 alternates (Ayla, Aubrey, & Kristina) will leave on March 4th

It is unclear whether or not the 3 new alternates will join before or after the current alternates leave

Cassie will likely leave before the Broadway cast change, similar to Marilyn

The first sing-a-long will be on March 6th!

UK Tour

Cast change will occur around July

Shows are currently booked through 28 September

The current cast will perform in Germany & Switzerland from March to April

North American (Boleyn) Tour

Cast change will occur on April 14th (new cast starts April 16th), Adriana (and Wesley and possibly Cassie) will also be staying

Shows are currently booked through July 28th

Australia

A new Australia (and potentially Australasian) Tour will begin in August 2024.

Canada

It is unclear how long the Canadian Production will run, but the cast says they are contracted for a year. So we may or may not have a cast change, depending on if they get an extension or not

Maggie Lacasse (Seymour) is expected to return in January or February

NCL Bliss & Breakaway

Both cruises are on their final casts: Bliss 7.0 & Breakaway 6.0

Bliss will close around February 24th

Breakaway will close around January 26th

I've been working on this for more time than I'd care to admit cause I've been formulating like... 4 separate Fan Casts, but when @easily-distracted-ivashkov posted an ask about Casting I had to submit something. Then it got too large for an ask so here I am.

I'm not done with my TV/Film Fan Cast, but welcome to...

The Bloodlines Musical Theater Fan Cast

*Complete with vocal part & music samples

*all casting has purely been based on my completely mid level of musical actor knowledge and voice. Like 90% of this is all voice. I can't stress that enough

I also have two separate casts for this because its changed over the years. I call them the "Fancast 1.0" and the "Fancast 2.0 - Its Gayer This Time." And of course like with any good casting situation, when you use a couple different actors you need basically a whole new set for everyone else so... Please find them below:
