What would happen if Shi-Woon managed to last a bit longer in the fight at the Seoul Tower? Would he have inadvertenly destroyed his future or unwittingly set himself on the path to sucess? Come along and find out with me. 

Shi-Woon was pulling himself up with the help of a nearby tree. His clothes were little more than rags and it seemed like the majority of his blood was on him rather than in him. The blood on his cheeks was mostly washed away by the rivulets of tears steadily flowing from his glassy eyes.

Goomoonryong watched as the boy leaned on the tree and coughed up thick blood that dribbeled down his chin and dripped on his already blood-soaked clothes. Shi-Woon lifted his limp hands the best he could and once more threw himself at the man. Ongoing, 36k words.

Chap 3:

Once again it was just the two of them, staring at one another. Every muscle in Shi-Woon’s body was tense, he was ready to move in any direction at the slightest provocation. He was waiting for Goomoonryong to move first, observing for the slightest twitch of a finger that would break the petrifying spell that fell over the room. So when Goomoonryong opened his mouth, Shi-Woon sprung up from his bed, in spite of his protesting limbs and aching back. He was still in the air when his throat was met with a hand. On an instinct, his own hands flew up to clutch on the dragon’s forearm. He trashed in his hold and scratched at his skin like a wild animal, everpresent pain preventing him from thinking straight. He felt tears forming in his eyes before he felt the burning in his lungs, warning him that he was out of breath. He feebly kicked his legs, but the stabbing pain in his back didn’t allow them to swing far enough to make contact with the dragon. The room started to go black around him and he fought to take in at least a mouthful of air into his lungs. He tried to pull away the fingers squeezing his throat, but through the haze in his mind, he struggled to get a grip on them. He wasn’t sure how exactly it happened, but suddenly, he managed to get hold of one of the fingers and he pulled. The hand disappeared from his throat and air flowed through his hair. He heard a dull thud that was followed by a resonating throb in his head. He was on the bed, his back pressed against the cold wall. His vision was slightly blurry. Through the tears in his eyes, he saw a silhouette shaking its hand. Mixed with the sound of blood rushing in his ears he heard a faint, ‘Son of a bitch, you almost broke my finger.’ ‘You killed him,’ Shi-Woon could hear himself rasp. ‘Can it.’ ‘You killed elder Kwon.’ ‘Shut your mouth or I’ll gag you.’ ‘I’m going to kill you.’

Chap 4:

He was going to slay the dragon, ‘You should have killed me,’ it was a warning, a promise. ‘And give them a martyr? A role model? One suicidal idiot is enough, I can handle one, even two or three. But an army of people that have decided that my death is more important than their life would be a danger. No matter their skill, there is power in numbers, just as there is power in rage and grief. Getting captured just doesn’t have the same ring to it as heroically giving your life for a cause. Some might even think you ran away.’ ‘I’m going to kill you, Goomoonryong.’ The dragon theatrically grabbed his chest with a faux hurt expression on his face, ‘No sunsengnim anymore? My name is Chun-Woo, it’s less of a mouthful than Goomoonryong, if you feel inclined to exert yourself less, feel free to use it.’ Shi-Woon stared at him, very unimpressed. ‘I’d like to propose a deal. Chasing you around is not my favourite pastime so I want to suggest an arrangement from which we’d both benefit. You want to kill me and you are not up for the task, not now and not when you are at your full strength. After I leave Seoul I intend to vanish, no one will be able to find me, not you, not anyone. I suggest you don’t resist, come with me and strike when you have fully healed and refined your skills. I’ll teach you so you’ll get the proper technique straight from the source and you’ll even get to observe the way I fight. It’s a win-win situation.’ Shi-Woon just stared at him, how arrogant could a person be to suggest such a thing? Or did he truly believe in Shi-Woon’s abilities so little? The answer was clear in his head, though. ‘No.’ ‘What do you mean ‘no’?’ he said, genuine confusion etched into his features. ‘No, I will not go with you willingly, no I will not learn from you.’ ‘Just how hard did I hit your head against that tree? Who else do you intend to learn from? There is no one! Do you seriously think that knowing a handful of techniques is enough? Newsflash! Obviously it’s not! You are leaving with me whether you like it or not, it can be under this arrangement or bound and gagged!’ he left the room, slamming the door behind himself. Shi-Woon burst out laughing, a ugly laugh that tore itself out from somewhere deep within him. He laughed until his belly hurt and couldn't breath. He laughed until he cried.

Chap 5:

Shi-Woon was not opposed to therapy and would be the first to admit that both he and the dragon could benefit from it. But he doubted that talking about feelings regarding his kidnapping with his kidnapper would do much for his peace of mind, so he very eloquently responded, ‘What?’

"Sunsengnim..." Breather Shi-Woon in surprise.

His chest felt tight as he continued to stare uncomprehending at his teacher. Why? It's already been over six months. Why was he back now?

"Hello brat," greeted Sunsengnim.

Something broke in the youth. All of the loneliness and darkness that he hid broke. Being called brat would be an insult for anyone else. For him it was proof that the man in front of him was real.

Why? It's adapted from the novel Euthanasia by Sammon (Triage, Manner of Death) but more important, it stars some old guard BL actors: Tor Thanapob from Hormones as the doctor and (fuck me YES) Jaylerr from Great Men Academy and goddamn Grean Fictions as the captain!

2 Wandee Godday

GMMTV and AllThis Entertainment producing a very pulp offering with new pair, GreatInn doing high heat, boxer meets surgeon. It features a one night stand, fake relationship, and all the cheesiest of tropes. Also features Drake, Podd, and Thor+ pretty boy (be still my heart).

Why? This is totally my kind of BL even if it isn't GMMTV's style of BL, and it's GREAT, so I'm in.

3 The Next Prince (ZeeNew)

Domundi brings us more ZeeNew in a fantasy/historical set in a palace where Zee plays a knight and Nu a prince - YES PLEASE.

Why? I did not expect this pair to stick so I really hope this happens. Give us the Little Pink Riding Milk BL we deserve!

4 Lover Merman

Fantasy BL about a man who falls in love with a merman.

Why? I don't think it will be good but I LOVE merfolk.

5 Me and Who

Domundi for WeTV brings this adaptation of Wickedwish’s novel of the same name. It depicts a young man who dies and is reborn into the body of a billionaire heir. The heir happens to be engaged to a handsome man.

Why? I flipping LOVE this trope but I never expected to see it drive a BL.

Based on the Manhwa Love Supremacy Zone by Hwacha, this will star actors Lee Tae Vin, Cha Jun Wan, Oh Min Su and Cha Woon Ki. The plot of the drama is based on Tae Myung Ha, a young man who is dropped into a game based off of a novel that he knows. His mission is to make another player, Cha Yeo Woon happy. Cha Yeo Woon is Myung-Has favourite character in the novel. But then the game starts going completely different from the novel.

City of Stars AKA Fueangnakorn

Star Hunter started filming this 12/23 about an actor falls in love with a programmer and the narrative intends to “explore the ramifications of being public figure in the social network era who must endure critics, bullying, and defamation.” Looks like another Lovely Writer, Call It What You Want sort of thing.

Hi Hi! Just out of curiosity who is the FC you often use for Makoto?

Hi anon! Thanks for sending this.

The main FC I use for Makoto is Yi Shi-Woon, the main protagonist of The Breaker series of manhwa. The third part of the series is currently on Webtoon, but Shi-Woon there doesn't have much of the Makoto energy anymore I'm afraid. One of the reasons I love this FC so much is because he's got the dorky and sincere guy vibes that really do fit Makoto perfectly, and he also has times where he's deadly serious and overwhelmingly determined just like Makoto can be.

I also use Hakuno Kishinami from Fate/Extra CCC Foxtail for Makoto, with a similar rationale as Shi-Woon. The way Takenoko draws male Hakuno and his expressions really resonates with my view of how Makoto acts.

Japon yazar Yo Kusakabe’nın “Kami no Te” adlı kitabından uyarlanan Doctor John dizisi ilk Japonlar tarafından 5 bölümlük mini seri olarak çekilmiş. Hastane dizilerini oldum olası severim ama Hospital Playlist izledikten sonra üzerine geçebilecek bir hastane dizisi bulamayacağım için elim bir türlü gitmemiştiti.  Hala aynı fikirdeyim, izlediğim en güzel hastane dizisi Hospital Playlist’di. Doctor John’u ise diğer hastane dizilerinden ayıran bir hikaye örgüsü vardı. Zorlanmadan akıcı bir şekilde izledim.

Kang Shi-Young(Lee Se-Young) tıp fakültesinde çok başarılı bir öğrenciyken geçirdiği talihsiz bir kaza sonucu bütün özgüvenini kaybedip doktor olmaya layık olmadığına karar verir. Yaşadığı yerden uzaklaşmak için amcasının müdürlük yaptığı hapishanede sağlık görevlisi olarak çalışmaya başlar. Cha Yo-Han(Ji Sung) ise hapishanedeki mahkumlardan biridir. Hapishaneye girmeden önce bay 10saniye olarak bilinen çok başarılı bir doktordur. Hastalarına 10sn bakarak teşhis koyabildiği için asistanlar ona bu lakabı takmıştır.

Hapishaneye gelen sağlık görevlilerin hatalarını yakaladığı ve düzeltmeye zorladığı için hiçbir sağlık görevlisi uzun süre burada çalışamamaktadır. İlk başta hapishanede geçecekmiş gibi bir hissiyat verse de Cha Yo-Han cezası kısa sürede biter, hastanedeki görevine geri döner. Kang Shi-Young ise özgüvenini geri kazanıp asistan olarak kaldığı yerden devam etmek için hastaneye geri döner. Ve bir kez daha karşılaşmış olurlar.

Hastane dizilerinde sevmediğim o güç savaşları bu dizide yoktu. Buna çok memnun oldum. Doktor Cha Yo-Han ağrı tanı ve tedavi uzmanı olarak bölüm şefidir. Altına biri kıdemli 5 asistan verilir. Kang Shi-Young ve kız kardeşi Kang Mi-Rae(Jung Min-A)’da asistanlar arasındadır. Dizinin çizgisi bu konu etrafında dolaşıyor. Ağrı tanıma ve tedavi konulu hastalar ve ekibin hayatlarında olan olayları konu alıyor.

Dizinin romantizm bacağını Lee Yoo-Joon karakteri ile Hwang Hee üstleniyor. Ana çiftimiz yerine dizinin ikinci çifti Kang Mi-Rae ve Lee Yoo-Joon arasındaki ilişkiyi izlemek oldukça keyifliydi. Bariz bir birliktelik olmamakla beraber, birbirlerini tanıma ve yaklaşmaları güzel bir düzlemdeydi. En önemlisiyse 2.erkek 2.kadın konusuna asla girmemiş olmasıydı. Bütün oyuncular rollerini çok güzel oynadılar. Kimse kötü oyunculuk sergilemedi. Puanının yüksek olmasını bu tarafa bağlıyorum. Özellikle Ji Sung’un oyunculuğu gerçekten başarılıydı. Bütün hisleri bakışları ile verebiliyordu. Keza Kang Shi-Young karakterinin de dizideki duruşunu çok beğendim. Kızınca kızdı, küsünce küstü, sevince sevdi. Hiç kapris gurur yapmadı. Kore dizilerinde karşılık alamamasına rağmen yapışan karakterler var. Bu dizide o da hiç olmadı. Ne kendilerini ne de izleyiciyi süründürmediler.

Birazda kötü karakterlerden bahsedecek olursak; savcı Son Seok-Ki rolündeki Lee Kyu-Hyung ve hemşire Chae Eun-Jung rolündeki Shin Dong-Mi diyebiliriz. Savcı Son Seok-Ki  hikaye ilerledikçe taşlar yerine oturuyordu. Son derece işine ve ilkelerine bağlı, yaptığı şeyi hakkıyla yapan bir karakterdi. Yaptığı şeylerin hiçbir tutarsızlığı ya da art diyeti yoktu. İlerleyen bölümlerde bir şekilde onu sevmeye bile başladık. Ama hemşire Chae Eun-Jung o kadar gereksizdi ki… dizideki tek sevemediğim oturmayan karakter olabilir. Ne nefreti bana geçti ne intikam mantığını anladım. Tamamen gerilim yaratmak için yazılmış gibiydi.

Ve final! Eyyy senaristler, size sormak istiyorum; NEDEN? Bu zaman neden atlıyor. Hadi atlıyorsun, yıl olmuş kaç hiç mi iletişim kuracak bir alete sahip değilsin. Yahu insanlar zamanında mektupla haberleşiyorlarmış, mektupla. Bunun tek açıklaması karakteri öldürmen olabilir. Cevap verememiş yazık ölmüş dersin. Bu klişenin artık o kadar tadı kaçtı ki, tolere edemiyorum. Özetlersek, dizi sakin güzel akıyor. Oyuncular kaliteli, hikaye stabil. Tavsiye eder miyim, ederim. Sonu olmuş mu, olmamış.

ABOUT THIS SKELETON: People from all over gravitate to Ogden College. Including those who grew up nearby. THE HOMEGROWN HERO knew - if things worked out - it would be the place for them. And last year, when they visited for a weekend, a tennis recruit shadowing none other than THE GOLDEN GIRL, they set their sights on not only Ogden, but Greer. Being adored by everyone from their small town wasn’t enough. They wanted to get in with the most influential person they had ever met - Greer Morrison.

After the time capsule leak, the cops interviewed everyone on campus again - luckily for THE HOMEGROWN HERO, their interview went…okay, and the officers have no reason to suspect they were involved with THE GOLDEN GIRL’s disappearance - even if they don’t think they were being fully honest.

It took pretty much all of thirty seconds for THE JERK JOCK to start up a rivalry with THE HOMEGROWN HERO. But no need for The Jerk Jock to worry !!! The Homegrown Hero may have the adoration of their hometown and all of campus but….at least he has THE GOLDEN GIRL on his side ?? Or he would. If she was here.

When they arrived on campus, THE HOMEGROWN HERO immediately set their eyes on THE FEMME FATALE - because every golden hero needs the perfect partner on his arm. Look at THE GOLDEN GIRL !!! She was never single.

If THE HOMEGROWN HERO was looking for someone to take them under their wing, THE SOCIAL BUTTERFLY was a good option, with their never ending connections across campus - since they can’t have THE GOLDEN GIRL, that is.

Well, THE GOLDEN GIRL may be have disappeared, but at least her very own brother, THE PROUD ELITE, swooped in to become buddies with THE HOMEGROWN HERO - he may not have exactly the same reputation, but it does the job !!!

THE HOMEGROWN HERO could never do any wrong. With THE MISCREANT, the ultimate bad influence, back on campus maybe it’s time for that to change. Because if The Homegrown Hero is trying to follow in the steps of Greer, well, THE GOLDEN GIRL definitely never shied away from misbehaving.

THE HOMEGROWN HERO may have lost their chance to get in closer with THE GOLDEN GIRL, but…a family member could do the trick, right ?? After all, THE UNFAVORITE is just as connected as The Golden Girl and could surely provide some of the same perks. Bold move by The Homegrown Hero, though.
