Do you ever struggle with feelings of discouragement or inadequacy if your fics don’t do as well as you had hoped?

I’m struggling with that myself. I try not to get so hung up on it but it’s very hard, especially when something I’m so proud of doesn’t do as well as my other works.

I don’t even feel motivated to write bc I don’t wanna set myself up for disappointment

Discouragement, sure, I think that's natural sometimes. But I really don't feel like stats have anything to do with adequacy. Baring my soul, yuck. But fuck it we ball. Sorry it's a long answer.

I don't think I've ever answered a serious ask aside from the time i created Dr. rock which hardly counts but I've seen a lot of people struggling with this lately and hope this might be idk comforting to a person or two without leading to debate/discourse.

You mentioned something you're proud of isn't doing as well as your other works, and I can see how that would be disappointing. For laughs, I'll compare 2 of mine. These fics are impossible to compare (as are most, I think) but I def understand the urge to measure yourself against what you see as the potential. Aches: <1k popular trope I banged out in no time, wasn't sure about it, literally thought "people don't have to like it" before I hit post. >4 notes per word. Left in Lincoln: >22k posted so far, challenging, writing it for months. Has possibly driven me crazy bc I had this passing thought the other day and not about TLOU. (I didn't feel like re-reading it all): "I should just rewatch the movie. . .wait." 🤡 The whole Lincoln series combined has fewer notes than Aches lmao. But it's far more rewarding in getting to see it come to life, quality of engagement, and stretching myself 😏. It's not for everyone, for various reasons. Surely would have better stats without the twist I went with. But at what cost??

Often, if people don't read or like something, it's a reflection of their own interests, limitations, and assumptions. And the right "fit."

I don't rly read much in general, but specifically, I rarely read long stuff (if I do I prob scan a lot tbh). I normally only want, if any, just enough plot/premise to build sexual tension. I don't read fluff or angst. I don't have the attention span / commitment to get invested in original characters. I tend to avoid stuff similar to what I'm working on. I make assumptions - If there's no word count, maybe it's too long. I know a lot of the fics I skip for these reasons must be fantastic. Assumptions I experience - I've seen very popular fics in the wild that strike me as dark, creepy, or pervy but aren't tagged that way. So some things that are tagged dark, etc., including plenty of mine, might not be dark in the way people assume based on their own ideas, or based on what others do tag. Also some people think I only write dark when sometimes it's just horny (see master list).

I've sometimes found myself thinking "It sucks more people don't read this bc i bet they would enjoy it" (not just my own fics). It might sound egotistical but I think it's often true.

Of course I want engagement because that means more people reading something which can mean more interaction, discussion, learning what you liked, what you think, etc. that's what I love.

But notes aren't rly near the top of what I care about, even though it does feel great to get them and I truly appreciate every single one.

Night walks doesn't get nearly as many notes as some of my other stuff, especially these days, but it's fun to write and I like to feed his feral fans who only get more into him with time. Same with raider: among those who do read and engage, I sense rising enthusiasm, thirst, and rate of falling in love with him (my bad). That's all worth more than 1000 likes to me. I have a good time writing these guys, so I write them more than other ones that get way more notes 🤷. I'm not saying notes don't matter at all, I know they affect exposure and engagement. But if just did what gets notes, I don't think I'd have such high quality engagement bc I'd just bang out more stuff with the most popular tropes instead of our fave Joels and those destined to become our faves bc they offer something special.

My outlook was the same before I had so many followers btw. Rock Bottom (22k) was what I felt like writing, still more ambitious than anything I've done in the Halloween fandom. I was disappointed it got way less attention than my one shots, but I know it's a banger, just certainly not for everyone lol.

I'm sorry for what you're experiencing and feeling, but I think it's very common and hope you can reframe it to not feel inadequate. I especially hope it doesn't discourage you from writing. ❤️

1 - anything that involves more knowledge about the au than the fandom is aware of will be discussed here. i wanna keep the sideblog mostly in-story and not break the 4th wall too much (although if want to add anything about the au thru the blog, you can send asks like they are transcripts from interviews from other characters besides Macky or his not-real production crew)

if the ask is written in a way that delivers itself as someone from the au, then send it in the sideblog and either my character will answer it like it’s a conspiracy theory or something else will respond to it (idk but i think of something)

2 - i think jumping around timelines will be fun! it keeps with tumblr’s own kind of style of posting since we see a lot of posts that are 10 years old. however, please make sure you add a time-stamp for when you ask or submission is taking place (you can even tag the time-stamp for the submission! i’ll prob add that to the guidelines)

i think for in-story timeline, we should keep it similar to the show’s (imma try and map this out later), but also how about we mirror the years for when lmk got released (2020) and the present (so whenever s4 ends at)

3 - i think imma stay as the one character just for my own sake. tbh i am stretching myself a little thin since i have uni priorities and unfinished fics i wanna complete and internships to look for, so there will just be one in-universe character who reblogs (sorry for all the anti-same universe fans 😔 )

Chapter Twenty: Bond

You and Frank panted softly, finally stopping when you reached his realm. You sat on the snow, lying back, while Frank was doubled over, both of you catching your breath.

“I think we’re good..I don’t think he’s following us.” You said breathlessly, looking over your shoulder as you sat up. He laughed a little. “Yeah, I don’t think he followed us out of his realm.”

You shrugged. “Well, it’s good to be safe. Anyways, I think we can take a little break from finding the pages. I’ll see you later.”

“What? Where are you going?” He asked. “We both know it’s not a good idea for me to stay here.”

You got to your feet, preparing to leave. “Wait. You gotta stay. I mean, you just saved my life back there. That was fucking terrifying.”

“What about Julie?”

“We’ll cross that bridge later.” He shrugged. Then, he took your arm, leading you into the lodge, and upstairs. You pulled away from him.

“I’ll stay here on two conditions: You make sure Julie doesn’t try to kill me and you admit that it’s harder to be a survivor than a Killer.” You told him. He sighed in response. “…Fine.”

You let him lead you up to the roof, and the next thing you knew, you and him were smoking together. You really needed this after that terrifying near death experience the both of you went through and the stress you were feeling about getting out of here and seeing your sister.

“Thanks.” Frank said out of the blue, taking a hit from the blunt. That snapped you out of your thoughts, making you look over at him. “For what?”

“For saving me, obviously. I mean, you could’ve died and you jumped on the guy when he was waving a fucking chainsaw in the air. That took guts. I know you’re fearless, but that- that was something else. I still don’t get why you did that. You could’ve totally just saved your own skin and ran away, but you chose to save me. Why?”

“Because we’re friends. Friends have each other’s backs and help when they need it.” You answered.

Frank paused at that. There was only one other person who was willing to do anything close to saving him, and that was Julie. She’d do anything for him. But this was different…

“None of my friends have done anything like this.” He replied. “Well, maybe you need to get better friends. Sucks that you’re stuck with me as your best friend.”

“Huh?” He murmured, picking up on what you said almost immediately. It took you a moment to realize your slip up.

“I said you’re my best friend.” You repeated. He stared at you in shock.

Frank never had a best friend before. He hardly considered most of the people he was friends with, and while he was close with The Legion, none of them ever said anything like that. He wasn’t one for sentiment, after all. But for some reason, hearing you say that made him feel all warm and mushy inside.

“Are you serious? What about Susie?” He passed you the blunt. You took a long hit. You had to be really high if you wanted to talk to him about stuff like this.

“I love Susie. She’s great and all, a close friend,and don’t tell her this..she doesn’t get it.” You replied. He looked at you in confusion. “What do you mean?”

“I mean I look at you, at your face, at your eyes, and I know you understand. You’ve felt it. The pain, the neglect, the abuse. You’re from a broken home, like me.”

Frank was shocked. You read him. No one’s been able to see that side of him, to know what he’s gone through. He’s never let anyone close. But now here you are, breaking down his barriers. He should push you away. He should hurt you. But he doesn’t want to.

“What gave it away? Was it the tattoos and the edgy style?” He joked. You giggled, and he found himself loving the sound. Fuck.

“Eh, more of the scars, the attitude, and Homicidal tendencies.” You teased. He laughed at that, before lying back on the roof, staring up at the cloudy sky. He listened as the wind blew, making the metal you were lying on rattle slightly.

“I never really had a home, actually. Ever since I was little, I was in foster care, being booted from house to house. I was a bit of a problem child and no one ever wanted me..even when I made friends and could charm people..it just wasn’t enough. I aged out of Foster Care, and that’s how I wound up here, in Ormond…What about you?”

“Well, my Dad is basically the biggest piece of human shit to exist. He’s a drunk abusive deadbeat..and a cop, so he knew how to get away with it. And my Mom stayed with him, despite everything that happened. Anyways, I was a mistake, but my sister wasn’t…so they always loved her more than me. My Dad would hurt me, my sister and my Mom, and then one night I came home, and..she was dead. Of course, he had his buddies in the department frame it as a suicide. Once I got old enough, I managed to move away with my sister, but she’s sixteen. She’s going to need to stay with someone else..and I’m terrified to know who…and that’s why I’ve been so desperate to get out of here.”

“Jesus Christ.” He muttered.

“Sorry..I know that was a lot. Sometimes, I just have to let it out, you know?” Frank nodded. He did feel better sharing his experience with someone who understood. He never really talks about stuff like his childhood…he hates being vulnerable. But for some reason, you made it okay, although it was horrible that you had to go through something like that.

“Anyways, want to grab some beers? I need to get fucked up tonight.” It wasn’t good to mix substances, but you didn’t care. You needed to feel better, especially when the thought of your sister all alone was on your mind. Especially if she was with your father.

You leaned up against Frank, seated on the couch with him, now wasted out of your mind. “You know..I actually don’t mind your scars. Or your tattoos. They’re pretty cool. Especially this one.”

You reached over, running your thumb across the bridge of his nose, smiling at him. He swatted your hands away, mumbling a small, “Weirdo.”

“Shut up.” You giggled, pushing him away. He pushed you back making you lie down. “You know what? Maybe I should repay you for saving me.”

“What? What’re you talking about? You don’t owe me anything. We’re best friends, remember?” You mumbled cluelessly, feeling light headed as his hands trailed up and down your waist.

“I know..But best friends also help each other out, right?” He moved his face closer to yours, and just before he could do anything else, you faded into complete darkness, going into a trial.

Hello there! I saw your tags on my "Why do people keep recommending Dreamwidth as a Tumblr alternative" post, and I wanted to let you know that I actually have a guide to finding new stuff and people on Dreamwidth already written out! It should be relatively recent in my Dreamwidth 101 tag, but I can also dig it up for you if you like. Just maybe not for a while; I'm still catching up with all of the other notes on that post 😂

Thank you for sending this! I just went through your posts tagged dreamwidth, i think i found and liked the post you're talking about regarding how to find people on dreamwidth to chat with. I'll look into it more when i am setting up an account. <3

Ignore the below, its mostly just personal rant. ToT tldr: i think dreamwidth is cool and since i miss livejournal ill probs make an account regardless, but tumblr has some ways of using that just work better for some things i do regularly.

I plan to use dreamwidth eventually. Its just, ahh again like my tags ToT, the benefit of tumblr (over stuff like livejournal dreamwidth ao3) has been being able to easily have casual chats with people with shared interests even if they dont follow me or know how to find me specifically, long chats (unlike twitter), chats we can both save a copy of on our blogs just by reblogging. I do a lot of study blog stuff with sharing study ideas, where the informality of tumblr makes discussions warmer and more open to mentioning experiments and trial error than reddit (which language subreddits expect high quality informative additions mainly) and lets ppl find the discussion posts based on tags (again a bit easier than reddit and much easier for ppl to find then them trying to find Me specifically). And a lot of fandom liveblogging, which twitter is an alright alternative to but 1. Expects real name (and my job marketing i dont really want tied with grammatically messy giggling about some show) 2. Elon musk touching anything i make frankly 3 twitter is shortform so its not really compatible with 4000 word meta posts. Dreamwidth (and blogging sites) are. But then they're not super compatible with 20 other active show watchers finding you the same night theyre liveblogging and you all getting to chat excitedly.

Then as an artist... im glad tumblrs still up. Instagram doesnt encpurage reblogs, has a messed up algorithm, so its not good for new people finding you. Twitter is better with tags connected to public feeds, and reblogging culture, but elon musk is very cool with ai scraping any art posted and hes stolen art before personally anyway so i dont want my art near that. And then sites with no reblogging culture just are not great for spreading art to more people to find you. (I moved to tumblr after the deviantart exodus years ago, and while some ppl moved to twitter later as its also got common reblog usage which helps artists get more visibility, im just not super compatible with twitter ToT). I do wonder if eventually a new social media more artist focused will surface (since after deviantart pulled the "needs premium membership" push and ppl left, nothing really replaced it... tumblr is closest cause personal blogs allow for tagged/ personal blog Pages so you can organize art somewhat, compared to twitter or instagram. But tumblr itself was trying to push away from personal blogs too for a while, so who knows.)

There are no "laws" in witchcraft - everything that I say, and everything that every other witch/magician/sorcerer says (even if they claim you HAVE TO DO IT!!!!1111!!!!) is merely a suggestion.

Your magic should fit you - your belief system. Your strengths. Your lifestyle.

Nobody knows what that can mean except for you. You have to make all of the difficult decisions.

I personally find this to be incredibly terrifying (at first) but also freeing.

This isn't grade school anymore - there isn't only one way to think or act. You can choose to work with deities, or not. You can choose to be a mostly ascetic witch. You can cast a spell once a year or every day (though every day is probs exhausting). You can primarily use affirmations or only work with herbs. You can create long-drawn-out ceremonies or yell emphatically at your cup of coffee in the morning.

You can tell the gods "No". (I promise - I've done it)

If it works, it works.

Magic is a completely personal thing.

If you are the kind of person who tends to believe everything that you read, stay aware. Don't absorb other people's thoughts/beliefs if they don't work for you. Don't let somebody else talk you out of the magic that works for you.

There's no boogeyman coming to get you if you do it wrong. That also doesn't mean that there aren't consequences, but that's a different discussion for another day.

I've gotta tell you something (and this may be an unpopular opinion but oh well...)

I've been doing spirit work since ~2000 and I never needed to have any significant protection on myself or my house until I met an unhinged witch.

People are, generally, more dangerous than spirits.

Here's the thing: it takes absolutely NOTHING to assume that somebody else on Tumblr has done the work, knows what they are talking about, and is sharing what works for them.

Sometimes I read people's posts and I'm all "Whut?!?" about it, but I assume that means that it's not meant for me and that's fine. I hope that it reaches somebody else who it resonates with.

On the other hand, sometimes I read people's posts and it breaks my mind that I haven't thought of that before now.

Both are great, in their own way.

I absolutely love reading about people using magic in a way that I will never - maybe ever could never - do. That's fascinating AF.

I also love being affirmed by finding people's stuff and feeling a bit of kindred spirit or inspiration.

Maybe it's my Gemini Venus shining through but I'm legit curious about it allllllllll.

I'm not saying that I do spirit work right (because, IMHO, there is no right), but I treat the spirits that I meet like I would a random cat on the street.

Something like this: oh my gods! you precious thing! thank you so much for showing yourself to me! you are the prettiest (insert type of spirit - often rock, flower, tree, sometimes wind, etc.) I've seen all day.

I'll be real here. It's worked out really well so far. I don't get attacked. I don't get followed home (well, I do, but not in a malicious way). Occasionally I get a "meh" in the same way as I get at "no human, no way can you pet me" like I would get from a random cat.

And it's totally fine. Spirits have as much right to choose to interact with me as I have to choose to interact with them.

This is why if you have valid reasons to suspect that a person in your life has the means and intent to do you magical harm, your first step in protecting yourself should be the make sure that they do not have access to your digital footprint. Block them from seeing all of your social media, if possible. Make sure your photos are not public.

If you suspect that they may have photos of you from the past, change how you look. (Cutting and/or dyeing your hair is the easiest way to do this)

This is not meant to be scare tacticy. Most people will not get magically attacked by other people. This is meant for somebody who has a REASON to assume magical harm.

hi! here is a little memo/tag key for navigating my messy messy blog because I’ve been trying to be better at tagging and thought if I have a post like this it might help cement them for me and be a good reminder if I forget. because that happens.

I’ve tried to have a more structured posting style in the past, but it never works. I’ve been having a bit more luck with my fashion side blog, but this thing is just a queueless, chaotic melting pot of cute kittens, dirty jokes, shitposts, disability posting, gender weirdness, bisexuality and vulgarity.

the vulgarity is partly because I find sexual jokes funny (esp when I haven’t slept), and partly because after studying both fashion and art I genuinely don’t know where the line for n*t s^fe f*r w*rk actually is. working in either of those industries, bodies are just (beautiful) bodies; and so even if I try to put a n/s/f/w tag on things….I don’t really know where to draw the line. so it’s up to you. probs don’t follow me (or filter extensively) if you’re going on tumblr in your workplace.

You knew Eddie because you'd both been in class together his first senior year and found out about his reputation with drugs and drug dealing through jocks and popular kids that used him as their supplier for parties and shit

You took after your mom in being very against drugs and you hated that he seemed so proud of the fact he was selling drugs to high schoolers

When you graduate and he doesn’t, you can’t help but be smug

You make sure he knows what you think of him and his little side business too

“Selling drugs is all you’ll ever be good for when you can’t even graduate from high school”, “can’t wait to see you out on the streets begging for drug money”

The same time the next year when you hear Eddie failed senior year AGAIN and was somehow even more sought after as a drug dealer you feel like he’s proved you right

When Dustin tells you when he starts high school that he’s made a new friend that plays DnD and runs a club at school for it you think nothing of it at first. You knew of Hellfire and that Eddie was in it during your senior year but for some reason assumed he wasn’t in the club anymore

Then, you younger brother tells you that it’s Eddie and that he’s the DM of the club you start seething

“No fucking way, Dustin. You’re dropping out of the club and you’re going to find a new friend to hang out with. End of discussion”

He’s always asking you why you don’t want him hanging around with Eddie but you don’t wanna expose him to the world of drugs just yet. He’s your baby brother after all. You don’t want to take away his innocence like that

You dodge answering his questions every time by just dismissing him and saying it’s because he failed senior year because that’s the only thing you can think of to tell him

The two of you end up having a massive argument over it, Dustin fiercely defending him

“You don’t even know him! You’re always so nice about anyone else who has to repeat senior year but not him! What did he do to you to deserve being treated like shit by you?”

You know he’s right, but you can’t tell him the truth and him shouting at you just makes you shout back even more in retaliation

Your mom ended up taking away TV privileges from you both for a week for the arguing and swearing at each other

Added onto your punishment because you should know better is having to drop off and pick up Dustin from Hellfire every week for a month

You have no problem with that until your mom tells you that you also need to be polite and kind towards Eddie because she raised you to never judge or be cruel to or about anyone

You’re pissed off when you have to pick Dustin up the first week of the punishment. When you see Eddie walking out with the club and Dustin talking so animatedly and excitedly with him you have to try and stomp out the feeling of guilt that creeps up on you

You only ever saw Dustin that happy and joyful when he was around Steve Harrington. Watching how Dustin makes Eddie throw his head back with raucous laughter makes you simultaneously want to hit Eddie and join in on the fun

Your heart starts to sink into your stomach when Eddie walks Dustin over to your car and when he sees you in the driver’s seat his smile looks a lot more forced

“Henderson. Didn’t expect to see you here. Thought you moved away for college.”

The mention of your scuppered college plans puts you back in a foul mood and you end up snapping at Dustin to just get in the car already

The ride home is deadly silent between you and Dustin, partially because of your argument but also because he knows that college is a sore spot for you after you had to cancel going off to college to get a job and help pay the rent and bills because of your mom struggling to make ends meet

The second week of picking Dustin up you’re already dreading having to see Eddie again. Thankfully, he doesn’t walk your brother to the car this time but he does give you a polite wave as he watches Dustin get in

Weeks three and four he does the same thing and you end up waving back at him just to be polite, denying to yourself that the short human interaction with someone outside of your family feels nice

After week four, your mom picks up more shifts at work so you offer to keep dropping your brother off and picking him up each week. She assumes that it’s because you’re getting on with them both, but really it’s because staying at home is lonely and it’s nice to have a routine outside of work

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐲𝐞𝐬

Inspired by this video and TikTok audio. I just wanted to get out my headcanons about what would happen if you tried that on the ghouls, Copia, and definitely totally a sibling of sin Mary Goore. I will do a separate one for the ghoulettes too, I promise! Also this isn't proofread because we die like men (also I bashed all this out straight onto tumblr rather than in a word document like I usually do oops)

There's no smut in this, but it is suggestive so minors please DNI or I'm going to pull a Copia and shart in your car.

The two of you had been flirting for two or so months now, the tension between you both growing gradually as time went on. In the greatest of wisdom one could only be bestowed in the early hours of the morning, you decided that you had enough of the silly games. You both wanted each other and you knew you had feelings for them but you also were aware of the fact that they were enjoying this back and forth too much to end it any time soon. So, you were going to take matters into your own hands.

The next day, you sought them out at the place you knew you could usually find them. They raised their hand in greeting when they saw you, but you gave them no chance to say anything as you pushed them up against the nearest surface and pinned them their, a thigh between their legs and one of your hands grasping their chin to make eye contact.

"That's it," you hummed with a smile as you pressed in closer to them. "Yes, this is perfect. You just keep looking at me with those pretty eyes. Don't take your eyes off of me."

𝐒𝐨𝐝𝐨

While you weren't unwelcome in the underground dens, Sodo hadn't expected to see you today. Not that he was complaining, of course. Seeing you and getting to enjoy the thrill of your back and forth flirting was his favourite part of the day, but this? Being pushed up against the kitchen counter as you commanded his attention made a flush of heat run through him at the thoughts of what else he'd like you to do to him in here. Anyone could walk in at any moment, and that just made the moment all the more delicious.

The fire ghoul's tail wrapped around your leg as his clawed hands settled on your hips. "Only if you keep looking at me like that, sugar. You might even get a kiss out of me if you lean in just a little bit closer."

He thought he got you at first, the cogs turning in your head practically visible on your face. He couldn't help but inhale your intoxicating scent - a mix of your shampoo and excitement - when you began to close the gap. Just as he was about to press his lips against yours, you moved to speak into his ear.

"Why don't we take this somewhere a little more... private? If you're down for that."

Sodo grinned as he lifted you and began to carry you towards his room, your legs wrapped around his hips and the two of you barely making it in before he attacked your lips and locked the door behind you both.

𝐀𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫

To say Aether was shocked would be an understatement. He gazed into your eyes just as you commanded, your words repeating in his head as he tried to process what was going on. It wasn't that he thought you were shy or anything like that - quite the opposite in fact. It had just never crossed his mind that you could be so forward.

It also hadn't crossed his mind how hot he'd find it.

You let out a quiet gasp when one of his hands reached round to rest on your ass, his thumb caressing back and forth as he pushed you into him. Your noses touched as neither one of you dared to look away. The quintessence ghoul felt the shift in your mood from confident and mischievous to aroused and he purred.

"What's brought this on, angel? Hm?" he asked, his voice low as his warm breath fanned against your lower face.

"Huh?" You blinked at him and he chuckled.

"What? Lost for words? Where's all that boldness from a moment ago gone? It suits you."

He relished the smirk that appeared, already hoping he'd get to see more of that more dominant side of you.

"Maybe if you weren't feeling me up and looking at me like you're about to bend me over a table I'd be able to think straight," you replied.

He quirked an eyebrow at you. "Maybe I don't want you to think about anything other than me. How does that sound?"

Your tongue brushed against his lower lip and he shuddered. "I think that sounds perfect."

As you pulled him towards his room, he couldn't help but mentally curse at how tightly you unknowingly had him wrapped around your little finger.

𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐧

The first thought that round through Rain's head the moment you pinned him against the tree by the lakeside was oh. While he may have come out of his shell more over the past few years, he was still one of the more reserved ghouls at the ministry. He hadn't considered that he'd ever be in this position with you, worried that your flirting was just you being nice to him, so now he was ill-prepared for how to react if you pushed him up against something and made your interest in him so clear.

"What's wrong, Rainy?" you asked, tone lightly teasing. "Cat got your tongue?"

The water ghoul ran one of his hands through his hair as he exhaled, trying to calm down and not appear as flustered as he felt. "I wanna kiss you."

Immediately, Rain's eyes widened and he hid his face behind his hands. That was not what he'd meant to say. Now you were going to laugh at him and look at him funny and think he was weird. Great! Maybe if he wished really hard, Mountain would make a hole appear beneath him and he would vanish forever so he wouldn't have to live down the embarrassment.

"Hey, there's nothing to be ashamed of! Please don't hide from me," you cooed, trying to gently pull his hands away so you could look at him.

Apparently people have been pretty much stalking Joseph in Italy, breaking into the pool to have photos with him which upset both him and his brother. I’m so fucking mad, this has got to stop. He’s a human being too and he deserves a break where he can spend time with his family without having to worry about being stalked by rabid fans that don’t understand the concept of boundaries.

If Joseph was a woman and fans did this shit there would be an absolute uproar and outrage because this is very much stalker behaviour. Absolutely disgusted at anyone who thinks this is okay. If you follow me and think there’s nothing wrong with this, please unfollow me and block me. This is gross and a complete violation of his privacy. Leave him the fuck alone. If he wasn’t famous none of you would care about him, so stop crossing boundaries and stalking him just because he’s famous. We get it, we love Joseph, but this is fucking mental and if this carries on I won’t be surprised if he takes a break from acting and goes into hiding for a while.

Just some headcanons about how I think Copia, Mary, and the ghouls would kiss you.

Copia kisses you like you're about to disappear and he doesn't know if he'll see you again. He cups your face, holds you close, takes it slow so the taste of one another may never leave your mouths again. He whispers against your lips, telling you how much he loves you and how he can't bear to leave you and that he would bring you on tour with him if he didn't think it would cause problems for Imperator.

Mary Goore's kisses come across as aggressive and bruising, but you know he's trying to show you with his actions rather than words how much he loves, wants, needs you. It's desperate hands pulling on each other, twisting into hair, Mary directing you to where he wants you. His teeth biting into your lip, a tongue pushing into your mouth. He's not comfortable with the vulnerability of saying "I love you", but his desperation for you is enough to tell you that he can't let you go.

Sodo is fiery passion and pushing one another up against walls. You make him feral, make him want to say fuck everything else, because in that moment you're all that he can see and smell and hear and feel and taste. He tries to engulf you, to swallow you whole, but in reality it's you who envelopes him with your heart, and you both feel it with the intensity of your kisses. There are times when you take it slower, savour one another, but it's when you devour each other that you feel that fire burn the brightest.

Aether kisses you slowly, gently, touches feather-light as if he worries he'll break you if he holds onto you too tightly. He's aware that he's the strongest out of the other ghouls physically, and so he's careful every time you kiss. His lips ghost over yours, they meld together so seamlessly, he caresses your face so gently it almost tickles. It's always you who has to deepen it, make it rougher, and he's okay with letting you have that control. Rather that than he hurt you. He couldn't live with himself if he harmed you trying to show you his love.

The kisses between you and Swiss are plentiful, the ghoul grabbing your face and placing kiss after kiss on your lips until you're giggling and pulling him in for a longer, deeper one. You press yourselves up against one another as much as you can, leaving little to no space between you both, and it's like you're in your own bubble. He has so much love, so much passion, to give to you and he'll shower it upon you as much as he can with each and every kiss.

A kiss from Rain is full of so much raw emotion, so much that he's too nervous to say to you in front of everyone else, because he's convinced - like Copia - that this kiss could be your last and he may never see you again. But the difference is that while Copia fears he'll never see you again because he knows there's a chance he'll suffer the same fate as the other Papas, Rain is terrified that you'll bore of him and go for one of the other ghouls. So he puts all his love, all his being, into all of your kisses, foreheads touching and noses brushing. And every time, you reassure him that you're not going anywhere. You love him, nobody else.

When Mountain kisses you, unless you're taller or the same height as him he always ducks his head to brush yours. Your kisses are always slow, leisurely, and it's like the two of you become one with each other and nature itself. You feel everything draw to a standstill as you cling to one another and allow yourselves to feel everything. Sometimes, when he takes you out to a secluded spot in nature, he'll sit and bring you into his lap as you both bask in one another's glorious love while you kiss. To the two of you, the rest of the world doesn't exist. There's just the two of you.

Sunshine is unadulterated joy and love. Kisses interspersed with smiles and laughter and pure adoration for one another. When your kisses sadly end, she looks at you as if you're the moon to her sun. Your fingers intertwine as you press your lips together, bodies as flush against one another as you can get, the bumping of noses that make you break apart and giggle. She radiates pure love and happiness and she channels that into the kisses you share, her tail gently stroking your cheek because she doesn't want to let your hands go.

Cumulus' kisses always taste of whatever she and Mountain have been baking in the kitchen. They're sweet, both in taste and in essence, as she holds onto your shoulders to keep you rooted where you are. She doesn't tell anyone else, but sometimes she worries that like the wind you'll blow away and she may never get to tell you again how much she cherishes and loves you. She tries her best not to make it so obvious with her kisses, but sometimes they're so filled with need that you have to reassure her that nothing could tear you both apart. You'd fight for her, do anything for her, and she is the same with you.

The way Cirrus kisses you is similar to Sodo in that they're full of heated passion, but not as aggressive. She's forceful, pushing a knee between your legs, tugging your clothes or your hair, but not to engulf you. She wants and needs to feel you, to know that you're just as real as she is, and that this isn't a dream. But when you fight back, trying to take control and dominate the kiss, it's your way of letting her know that you're very real and that she couldn't get rid of you even if she tried. There's biting, sucking of lips, squeezing of flesh, and both of your hearts rattling against your chests. In that moment, you both feel so electric and alive.

I've been seeing a lot of anti dramione posts on the dramione tag her on tumblr. Most posts are silly little ones just saying "eww dramione sucks". But there are a few talking about why they hate dramione, why they hate the people who ship it, and also saying for us to "leave them alone".

I wanna know, have any of you actively seen any dramione fan bashing or insulting THAT ship? Have you seen posts calling fans of the ship horrible names? Have you seen people go out of the way to find those people who like that other ship and their blogs and attack them.

Because the way they talk in their posts, they make it seem like that are being attacked everyday from dramione fans.

And that's not cool! You shouldn't attack or insult anyone for liking something else. Even if they insult first, don't retaliate and hurt them back. Don't stoop to their level. We need to be better than that.

I know personally that those people come to us and have said not nice things and they actively search for dramione posts to comment on. But let's be better people and not do that back.

Forget them and their "we are superior than you because we like this fake relationship over yours". Fanfiction is for everyone, you can ship who ever. Don't let those people tell you otherwise.

So if you see anti dramione stuff, just roll your eyes, have a laugh and go read one of your fav dramione fics.

Hi, just wanted to introduce myself as a GRRM pessimist. I wanted to defend myself in just one regard: I didn't really mean book!Dany fans with the comment this was obviously directed at. I often encounter discussions with ASOIAF fans who are completely convinced DarkDany will happen who block debates about the sexist implications of that with angry rants of praises of GRRM's writing of fem. chars. and long lists of minor female characters who will prob. survive the story well.

Or cite a "rule happily ever after" ending (which should be unsatisfying for the author if he'd stay true to his words) for fem. characters only marginally involved in somewhat political storylines, not at all in ruling arcs to deflect. These are the people I meant primarily with the notion of premature praise of "feminist credit", not book!Dany fans. IMHO they would still regard it a non-offensive, "feminist" story even with the exact show ending attached to the books. Why I tend to be pessimistic about GRRM has a lot of reasons, not that I don't appreciate your correct characterizations of her book arc and character so far. Love y'all, have a nice day.

Hi, Anon... I’m sorry that my comment in that reblog’s tags made you upset on some level... There was no need for you to explain yourself to me, I’m just a stranger who made a hobby of defending Dany during the quarantine every now and then.

I will say that I used a harsh tone because I’m still annoyed at the 198119th essay I came across trying to argue that Dany’s storyline in the books is actually about U.S. imperialism. It created brand new arguments (and I probably already read thousands of asoiaf metas at this point after years of being on the asoiaf fandom, so I was flabbergasted to see, once again, how creative people can be when it comes to Dany hate, lol) based on inaccuracies/lies that could have been easily corrected if the person had read the books more carefully. What’s worse is that that essay was written by a PhD student with a background in postcolonial studies in a book published by an American university. So a) this makes it seem that the person actually had something meaningful to say (which they didn’t) and b) it can’t be said that that person is ignorant like it’s often assumed that Dany haters are. No. Well-informed, well-educated and well-read people hate Dany based on inaccuracies (because they have spread way too much at this point) and create entire narratives that seem reasonable if you don’t remember what happened in the books very well. This is important to acknowledge, IMO, because it shows that the amount of vitriol leveled at Dany really is unprecedented, and it has influenced how she’s analyzed in the academic world. This whole situation really, really pisses me off.

So I was ranting because it felt to me that book!Dany fans (who are actually very few, because most Dany fans here talk more about show!Dany) were not even having their points heard in their small Tumblr bubble. I have come across quite a few people that misconstrue what we have to say, after all. Also, while your comment was indeed the one that prompted me to rant, I saw people make comments along the lines of yours before too, so please don’t take it personally (And I wouldn’t even say with certainty that the OP wrote that post specifically because of your comments... I know that we already discussed that issue in private before (because we talk regularly about almost everything Dany related). And I know that she’s a very diligent meta writer that has dozens of metas prepared in advance that will be posted weekly throughout the year. So I wouldn’t be surprised if she had already written that post specifically for Daenerys’s Day a while ago).

All these petty things were annoying me (not just your comment) when I made that rant in the tags and I come to Tumblr specifically to whine about fandom stuff, so... Yeah, sorry lol.

Also, I 100% agree with you when you say that many fans “would still regard it a non-offensive, "feminist" story even with the exact show ending attached to the books”. It is very hypocritical that they spend thousands of words discussing how GRRM’s writing can have misogynistic implications depending on how he treats minor characters that barely have any characterization (and they made some good points, but it’s also worth noting that these characters were deliberately meant to be plot devices) and without bothering to mention how he might end up mistreating the story’s actual female protagonist (because they’re all too happy with her being given a bad ending and getting out of their faves’ way so that they can thrive). Even those discussions are clearly biased.

my elaborate plot so I can have both HawkAsh & Mothpool

this is unedited and all over the place and IDK if i’ll ever do anything with it but whatever gonna post it,,, og canon is stupid have this instead Anyways here is my main canon changes for Ashfur & Hawkfrost ((i’ll add more cats later)) Ashpaw grew up being friends with Bramblepaw so when Brambleclaw tried to reunite with his half brother Hawkfrost, Ashfur ended up tagging a lot a lot and the two got lots of feelings for each other but didn’t do anything about it UNTIL Brambleclaw left on the big journey and then Ashfur and Hawkfrost originally hung out bc “oh we miss bramble” but they got really gay instead Meanwhile on the journey Bramble’s compulsive heterosexuality and wanting Firestar’s approval convinced himself that he “in love” with Squirrelpaw and Squirrelpaw’s own denial and guilt of her own sexuality just went along with it ((she totally had a thing for Feathertail))Anyways blah blah journey stuff - main replacement is Leafpool fell in love with Mothwing instead of Crow and Moth was trans so she’s the eventually other parent of the trio Tigerclaw continues to train the brothers in the dark forest but this time Hawkfrost doesn’t eat up his manipulation because he develops love for Ashfur and holds bitterness @ his father for murdering Ashfur’s mother and all the angry feelings of his father never being around for him and blaming Tadpool’s death on the absence of his father etc etc Hawkfrost DOES still want him and Bramble to become like a Thunderclan and Riveclan leadership duo like he’s still ambitious and bulheaded at times - just not bloodthirsty like Tigerclaw wants them to beSquirrel flight is offended by bramble’s friendship with Hawkfrost and they have their big fight and hangs out with other ppl, Ashfur 100% sees her a niece in this canon and is just protective over her like he is with his sister Leafpool and Mothwing do the run away thing - Hawkfrost distraught that his sister is gone goes to Thunderclan to get Bramble to help, Squirrelflight lashes out on them, but Firestar intervenes wanting the safety of his daughter and says he’ll let Bramble go look for Hawkfrost, Squirrel protests a little but calms down when Ashfur offers to go with them as well ((no one knows of Hawk and Ashfur’s relationship))Leafpool gets the dreams of Thunderclan being under attack and Spottedleaf persuades her to go back Mothwing is sad about it but says they’ll always have excuses to see each other being medicine cats On their way back they’re meet with Hawk, Ash, and Bramble who are relived to see that they are safe and sound However they don’t dawdle as Leafpool gets a strong vision of Thunderclan under attack and they run to their aid Hawkfrost at first tries to argue with his sister to leave the Thunderclan cats on their own but refuses to go without helping and he relents because he wants to protect Ashfurblahblah tragedy Cinderpelt dies (cries) which seals Leafpool’s fate as being the medicine cat of Thunderclan Hawkfrost and Mothwing return home IDK prob some very Gay shit happens between Hawk and Ash during the battle idk who will see but it happens Over at Thunderclan, Firestar accepts Greystripe’s “death” and makes Bramble deputy Hawkfrost seeing his brother be named deputy and still being prideful brat wanting to be leader and adored by the clan still encourages Mothwing to make a fake sign about Stormfur and Brook but big reason for this is Hawkfrost blames Stormfur for Feathertail’s death and Feathertail was one of the few cats who was always friendly to Hawkfrost and Mothwing etc etc Tigerclaw tries to encourage his sons to be bloodthirsty and take the leaderships themselves, alone he belittles and shuns Hawkfrost into doing what he wants Hawkfrost sets up the trap for Firestar but tells Ashfur what’s going on out of guilt and asks if he will save Firestar before it’s too lateAshfur rush with Firestar’s daughters to save them but Brambleclaw and Ashfur are still fighting because they’re both conflicted on their own loyalites Ashfur pushes Brambleclaw out of the way to save Hawkfrost and gets an injury in the process with makes Hawkfrost panic as he never saw Ashfur bleed so much beforeHe willingly goes with as a poisoner because he’s afraid Ashfur to die without him and Firestar observing this eventually has a discussion with Hawkfrost when Ashfur is deemed safe Hawkfrost in emotional exhaustion and protectiveness of his mate admits to Tigerclaw training he and his brotherFirestar says he can leave and he won’t tell Riverclan of his attempt to kill him if he breaks ties with Tigerclaw Hawkfrost is conflicted but talking with Ashfur when he first awakes he reluctantly agrees to Firestar’s terms Leafpool discovers she is pregnant with Mothwing’s kits and panics telling her sister that she needs to pretend she is having Brambleclaw’s kits - Squirrelflight who was on the path to accepting she was a lesbian and not attracted to Brambleclaw finds herself back to square one and fake her own happiness with him for her sister’s safety Mothwing is aware of Leafpool’s pregnancy and is angry with the concept of clans and only wants to be with her mate, one day she vents to Hawkfrost about all of this, Mistyfoot over hears Mothwing’s (nonexistant) beliefs about starclan and tries to get Leopardstar to throw out Hawkfrost and Mothwing for “scheming” against their clan as Hawkfrost escalates with argument way too fast and Mistfoot acts like a dick bc of her anger with Hawkfrost mostly Hawkfrost and Mistyfoot have a physical fight to where Mothwing defends her brother before Mistyfoot gives him a fatal injury Feeling betrayed by Riverclan Hawkfrost no longer longs to be leader of a group of “cowards and traitors” This leads him to tell his sister that they should just go to Thunderclan and be with their mates Stormfur tries to argue that Hawkfrost is just like Tigerclaw but Firestar welcomes the siblings Hawkfrost not wanting to be around Stormfur hints that he should return to Riverclan which the two consider this or returning to the tribe Hawkfrost is very melancholy and negative, only cheered up by the presence of Ashfur, and cold toward other Thunderclan cats Mothwing eagerly tries to convince Leafpool to be truthful about their kits and it causes a lot of stress and arguments between the two- Squirrelflight over hears one of this and begs her sister to go with the truth as she doesn’t love Brambleclaw and knows Thunderclan will come to accept Leafpool Leafool eventually agrees and a lot of cats are disappointed or unhappy with her but Firestar silences their disapproval and accepts his daughter and her mate Mothwing publicly being the parent of Leafpool’s kits is what seals the deal for Hawkfrost and Mothwing staying in Thunderclan During the next big meeting Leopardstar, conflicted, tries to convince Hawkfrost and Mothwing that they belong in Riverclan and that Mistyfoot was too harsh on them But Hawkfrost very aggressively denies this suggestion, he is extremely bitter against Riverclan which gives Mothwing the courage to say no as well even though Leopardstar pleads they dont have a proper medicine cat The gathering gets very heated but Brook offers to medicine cat if Riverclan were to welcome them back and Leopardstar and Mistyfoot agree Leafpool eventually gives birth to the Trio, taking place in the nursery as Mothwing takes over being official medicine in the meantime and the clan upset that Jaykit is born blind but his mothers love him regardless Hawkfrost actually becomes a very stubborn defend of Jaykit’s potetional as a warrior Hollykit being super close to her mother’s and thus becoming very engrossed in medicine still becomes medicine cat appretience Lionpaw still gets Ashfur as a mentor but Ashfur is less of an OOC asshole Brightheart works hard with Jaypaw to use his blindness to his advantage and Hawkfrost becomes a second pseudo mentor as the clan still feels too weary about Hawkfrost to give him an appetence but it’s his sister kit and ppl believing Jaypaw cannot become a warrior bc of the blindness pisses Hawkfrost off Hawkfrost is the first to learn of Jaypaw being able to walk amongst other cats dreams but encourages him to keep him to himself as the clan would use “any excuse” to have him not be a warrior
