#shrunken manhunt au

Beep bop lemme talk about the las Nevadas crew real quick before I start on their one shot
In this au the las Nevadas crew is as follows:
Sam: a creepertaur that helps run building projects and sometimes stands guard if Quackity is trying to get something done. He’s caught on to him and Sapnap’s activities due to catching Sapnap messing around with shrinking potions during manhunts. He has a storage stomach, no real instincts related to it, but he does occasionally store people. He does not like being stored, and adamantly refuses to be shrunken.
Foolish: a demigod of undying, his anatomy is off due to him being a totem. He doesn’t necessarily have to eat, so he can safely store people in his real stomach. He doesn’t really partake in either side, mostly just focusing on his job at Las Nevadas or helping with building projects, coming up with new ideas and helping Quackity where he can.
Fundy: our fox hybrid unfortunately doesn’t have a safe way to store people, and he mostly stays out of the storing thing. His sense of smell and hearing are heightened, though, and sometimes it leads to trouble if someone is small and running around as it can trigger his instincts to pounce. He sticks to himself and his part of Las Nevadas, coming to Quackity when he needs help or visa verse. He has allowed himself to be stored before by other people, sometimes he likes the dark small space it provides.
Slime: mans is literally made out of slime and can absorb people, need I say more? He can safely store people by creating an air pocket (like the small Q fic) and a lot of the time he does it on accident. Once he ran into a shrunken Q and accidentally absorbed him because he didn’t solidify himself before trying to grab him. He’s also Quackity’s right hand man, and mainly the one that Quackity trusts the most outside of his fiancés to store when his instincts get bad.
Purpled: he’s an alien and it’s never been stated if that effects his biology or not. Since it’s me, of course we’re gonna give him a storage stomach. Similar instincts to Netherborns, just instead needing to protect their offspring from the dangerous conditions of space. He doesn’t partake in storing anyone or trying to be stored, especially not by the Las Nevadas crew. (His ufo wasn’t blown up in the au, but he still just doesn’t want to get that vulnerable with people he hardly knows) he sticks to himself more than Fundy does, and kinda makes himself scarce.
Gonna add one more character just because tntduo enjoyers come get your juice:
Wilbur: he’s not an official part of Las Nevadas, as he and Quackity began a friendly rivalry. Does Q let him have access to the country? Yes. Does he consider him a part of it? No. When Wilbur was revived, he was ecstatic to see the duck hybrid no longer hiding his wings, but became slightly disappointed when the other wouldn’t speak with him about instincts or avian related things.
Wilbur becomes deadset on changing the bad habits he sees Quackity doing, like ignoring basic needs and overworking himself. He and Quackity eventually have a talk over instincts as both are avians, and with hesitancy on Wilbur’s part, they both begin helping each other with instincts. Wilbur still shows up to be a nuisance, though.

Cyn I just want you to know how much brainrot you give me-
I’m literally screaming in the discord server about the teasers you’ve dropped with Slime, and my brain is just going through so many scenarios that could occur to get us from the text teaser to the art-
Like did Schlatt have to quickly swallow him to protect him? Did Ted do this? And Slime looks so nervous, has he even been eaten before? Does he know it’s safe?
You’ve given me so much brainrot and I will now rotate this in my head like leftover pizza in the microwave-
THANK YOU SM!!!! <3
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY THAT MAKES ME AS SOMEONE WHO ALSO FREQUENTLY ROTATES THE SHRUNKEN MANHUNT AU IN MY HEAD LIKE THAT ONE GIF OF THE DANCING COW
anyway i’ll give you a hint: you did correctly guess the plot with one of those first two questions but i can’t say which just yet, and while I did have a way that Charlie got nommed for the first time, i’m retconning it for the sake of this story if that tells you anything >:)

Manhunt Antfrost keeping dream in a bottle on his potion belt 👀
Yes-
After the last Manhunt where Dream is acadentally perminantly shrank- everyone is worried about how he might get hurt. Dream constantly insists that he can take care of himself and will be fine, but there's nothing he can do as his now huge friends decide to keep him in a bottle for his own safety-
Dream wants to argue more about how he'd be fine- but they can't hear him through the thick glass as Ant keeps him on his potion belt

Iterations au brainrot lets goooo
n4 Dream being transported to n1s universe and seeing Awesamdude. He freezes up, sam has a pickaxe, he was on his way back from mining. Awesamdude sees Dream, at least he thinks it’s dream. This person, this Dream is wearing an orange prison outfit that hangs loosely of of his shrunken frame. His eye have deep bags under them and his skin is littered with scars and burns. Worst of all is the look in his eyes. They’re scared, terrified even. This isn’t the Dream he knows.
n2 Dream meeting n4s Sapnap. He goes to Sapnap thinking they’re friends and suddenly sapanp is charging towards him with a sword and a look in his eyes that says murder. His manhunt instincts kick in and he starts running.
n1 gets in a fight with n3 and he knows himself so he manages to break him down. He calls his bullshit over and over pushing through all the lies n3 tries to say, all the deflections that he uses.
n3 going back to n1′s time and for a bit letting himself relax, letting himself be with his friends in a better time when everything was easier and made more sense. But he doesn’t sleep for a reason so why did he think it was safe to sleep? He wakes up from a nightmare that leaves him shaking and stumbling away from everyone else. He can’t think straight, everything going to  go to shit eventually, why did he even let his guard down?
All the iterations coming together one day and baking something. It goes to shit ofc but it’s a nice memory. One they all can share.

I’ve had this idea in my head a bit
So uh, maybe one time Quackity noms someone before he lays down for the night and gets woken up by them freaking out. It wouldn’t be Q’s fault, it’s likely a nightmare, but his anxiety skyrockets and he releases that person immediately, feeling nothing but guilt as they shake in his hand.
They confront him quickly when they wake up and reassure him that it wasn’t him that made them panic, but Q doesn’t take it to heart.
He begins to neglect his instincts again, unwilling to put someone in the same situation. He doesn’t want to make anyone scared, especially of him and especially of the nomming thing. He already feels bad enough with the looks he still catches his fiancés giving him from time to time thanks to his first time nomming them
It almost seems like nobody is getting through to him, and everyone can tell he’s refusing to handle his instincts just by how he’s acting and how awful he looks (his eyes are pitch black at that time, since his pupils are so dilated, he’s barely remembering to eat in the instinctual haze he’s trapped in, etc.)
So Wilbur calls Phil, since he himself can’t get through to the stubborn avian. And Sapnap, worried out of his mind and also unsuccessful to get through to him, calls Bad.
The three have a very long talk, both older males doing their best to not snap at him when there’s so obviously a reason he’s not taking care of himself again. By the end of it, they’ve found out what had caused it.
I wanna say for this scenario it’s Karl that gets spooked, which makes him feel all the worse when he realizes what Quackity’s doing. He tries so hard to get through to him but he’s completely unsuccessful (I say this idea would take place in the earlier days of the au) and it makes him feel awful. Sapnap catches on to Karl’s misery on top of trying to snap Q out of it, and that’s why he finally snaps and calls Bad. He can’t keep up with both of his fiancés not mentally well, especially with one completely out of it thanks to instincts.
When Q returns home from that talk, feeling guilty for giving everyone such a scare, Karl isn’t in the house. Sapnap explains that he’d offered to store him, but because Karl was upset over what happened he didn’t want to be stored, so he went to hang out with George for a bit.
When Karl returns, the second long talk of the day is had, and they force Quackity to promise he won’t push his instincts off thanks to guilt again. The whole situation could have been avoided if he hadn’t been so stubborn, and they make sure he knows that.
Wilbur demands a similar promise the first time they meet up again, unknowing of the fact that the first time they see each other since the intervention he’s got both fiancés tucked away while he works, just for the fact that he himself developed nightmares from the incident and he’d woken up from one of them that morning.

Bad and Skeppy noms? How does that go?
The first time was a similar situation to Quackity, in which Bad didn’t even realize his instincts could get so bad until it was too late. It was when Sapnap was still a teen, and Skeppy had been made aware of the instincts (and had accidentally been the one to make Bad stop settling his instincts). Sapnap wasn’t there, and Bad was basically feral, and scared of what would happen if he wasn’t stopped, Skeppy told Bad to store him and make his instincts calm down.
Bad felt extremely bad for it when he came out of the haze, apologizing extensively to the gem when he released him. Skeppy waved it off, saying it was just to get him to stop acting feral (but wouldn’t admit that he actually liked the comfort of it once he’d calmed down himself)
A few more times occur, mostly to comfort after nightmares, and from then on, it became a regular occurrence to them. From pranks, to needing comfort, to instincts, it became a very common thing in the house.
Then the Eggpire incident happened, when Bad stored Skeppy with the intention of keeping him there so he didn’t lose him, because he wouldn’t admit that the egg was wrong and the egg was the reason Skeppy was leaving him to begin with and Sapnap had to be called in to stop him-
Which leaves them back to square one, where Skeppy has to force Bad to store him because he neglected his instincts again. It takes longer, but they slowly build their trust in the other back up to where they were.
Skeppy has yet to succeed in storing Bad. Not only has he been unsuccessful in shrinking him, but he’d heard from Sapnap that he wasn’t comfortable being the one being stored rather than storing people. Since he’d heard that, he’d been even less coordinated when trying to shrink Bad.

Quackity has a nightmare about the fight (could be the borrower au or SM, in which the fight never happened) and needs reassurance that he’s actually wanted but has no idea how to go about it
He just gets very distant, (SM Q:) more focused on his work, stays in Las Nevadas for longer periods of time before he finally breaks and asks if Karl and Sapnap actually want him around
He is smothered in affection and promises that he’s wanted, he’s loved, and they wouldn’t trade him for anything in the world. If it’s SM, Karl stores him so he can reassure the other that he is there, everywhere and with no intentions of leaving him.
If it’s the borrower au, Sapnap stores him and Karl lays on top of Sapnap, mumbling sweet nothings into his shirt so Q can hear them.

Anywho I'm bored so I'm making it your problem with lots of asks (hehehe brain go br)
How often does Karl time travel, and what would happen if he just appears near Dream and George instead?
Absolutely fine! I love the asks lol
Karl doesn’t time travel often, but it is often enough to make people worry, mostly because of how long he disappears for. Sometimes it’s days, sometimes it’s weeks.
Sometimes he won’t time travel for months, sometimes it’s almost back to back. It’s always infrequent, to everyone’s dismay.
He has appeared near Dream and George before, actually. George instantly checked him over for mental and physical wounds and demanded Dream gets him something to eat, along with calling one of his fiancés to come get him. It’s become the protocol for anyone that Karl winds up coming back from traveling to.
It’s happened to Niki, Phil’s household, Las Nevadas when Quackity wasn’t there, etc. not everyone knows about the time traveling, but they genuinely just start believing that he keeps getting lost 🥺
Phil knows, though. So does Foolish. They have ties to gods, of course they can tell when someone is ‘working’ with one as well. But they keep up the unknowing shtick so that Karl doesn’t get his abilities put on blast by everyone in the server.

Ok, so here me out. What if Phil or techno made the potion for whenever Phil has nesting instincts(or techno; I think you said that he and Phil had similar instincts).
So I have plans for fics involving sbi in the au, but I’ll go ahead and talk about them here too :)
They knew about the potion before it was even introduced to the manhunts or the SMP. As both have similar instincts, they both use the potion to help the other out when it gets bad. Both are unfortunately too stubborn to let the other know when it’s getting rough, so it’s usually the one playing prey to initiate it since they’ve both gotten very good at reading the other.
Tommy and Wilbur sometimes get involved with noms too, but not to the extent of some of the others on the server. Wilbur is also an avian hybrid, but his instincts don’t get to a point where he loses control, like Quackity. Usually, someone’s willing to help if he explains the situation to them. Usually it’s the other sbi members, but once he started pestering Quackity upon Las Nevadas being made and accidentally let slip to him that he had instincts, and Quackity straight up went “oh shit you need help with that?” He explained upon the shocked look he received that he and Sapnap have been using the shrinking potion and helping with instincts the other was fighting with. He didn’t mention his instincts hitting him harder than the other avians, but Wilbur has once found him borderline feral once, so he knows. The duo even begins to help each other out if Quackity’s so bad he wouldn’t be able to find anyone else.
Tommy is not an avian hybrid, and he gets nommed constantly for time outs. Sometimes when he’s getting overly rowdy, or he does something that makes others mad, he gets time outs by being nommed. He’s never been scared of it, but sometimes he craves the comfort it brings him sometimes. Wilbur’s the first to find that out, and slowly more people who can safely nom figure it out. Quackity and Sapnap have both also nommed Tommy at some point when the kid was going through a rough patch.
Phil and Techno wind up being the ones who nom Tommy and Wilbur the most, and nobody noms Techno or Phil other than the other.
Sometimes Techno wakes up at night cold thanks to them living in the arctic and can’t fall back asleep, or the voices become too much for him to handle. Phil wakes up pretty easily, makes them tea, puts the shrinking potion in the other’s cup with his consent, and they’ll spend the night curled up by the fireplace, Techno resting peacefully in the avian’s crop. Techno never really catches Phil in a bad state, but sometimes he does find the other upset about something of the past and he’ll do the same thing.
There we are! I know the question had originally been about techno and Phil but they are kinda a package deal with the family dynamic, so I went ahead and introduced the other two too!

I’m gonna release part four here shortly, but before I do I wanted to dive a little more into Quackity’s character for the au:
When he was in Schlatt’s cabinet, the Ram hybrid made it very clear that he did not want to see any kind of instinctual behaviors or hybrid traits from him or any other cabinet members. Fundy almost went into complete hiding due to it, but Tubbo and Quackity got the worst of it.
Tubbo in return simply stopped hiding his traits. There was no point, because it seemed like Schlatt was getting onto him for every little thing anyway. He simply stopped caring, especially after the festival. Everyone began to know him as Schlatt’s child who ran off when everything started going downhill, since he stopped hiding his own ram hybrid traits.
Quackity dealt with the full force of it in public and behind closed doors, and after a certain point completely started hiding anything that revealed him as a hybrid. Most people started thinking he was a normal human, except for the ones who knew him before that point. When his instincts do hit, thanks to that time, they hit hard.
If he starts panicking, his instincts start screaming that something is coming to hurt him and anyone he’s with and that he needs to get them out of there safely and asap. Even if he’s in a domestic setting, with no real danger anywhere near, he slips into an instinctual panic if he starts getting really bad anxiety.
He has not come clean to his fiancés or friends about what he dealt with in Schlatt’s cabinet, but after the next part his fiancés may get an inkling of an idea of it.

Please add the blob dream idea to a fic. I need more blob dream + the axolotl ears would be so cute!!! On a less related note, do you think if Techno found Dream freezing to death in the Arctic (cuz he be a cold blooded boi) he would be so soft and caring but deny it the whole time? I also would like to think that chat would make fun of him the whole time as well, and Phil would just give him this look of "I am too tired for your bullshit stop denying that you care". I am absolutely obsessed with Shrunken Manhunt if you couldn't tell.
-Gremlin Anon
I will! And thank you so much!
Also, yes Techno would. Thanks to everything with the fiancés and him making up, he’s not nearly as hostile as previously thought to be. Of course, Dream and he wouldn’t be as close in this au but Techno wouldn’t turn him away to freeze to death. He himself understands how hard it is to retain heat in cold temperature, being a piglin and all so he helps out, though he only claims it’s because he understands the cold temperature issue, but like you said Chat and Phil call him out completely when he gets back to the house and releases the axolotl hybrid. Though when he sees that Dream had relaxed enough to stay in his blob form (he learned from Bad, who wouldn’t keep his mouth shut and learned from Sapnap) he gives up on the whole cold shoulder thing. He and Dream get closer as a result

Karlnapity vore
Thoughts?
Favourites?
Anything?
Honestly I’m just a fan of it in general lol you caught me just as I was working on a Karlnapity nom part in another fic for the manhunt au
But favorite tropes? Honestly since I can see all of them as preds in any circumstances I’m just down for most things, angst and fluffy wise. I’m a sucker for both I’m realizing pretty quickly. (Angst is more of panic/fearplay though, never actual danger)
I think my favorite favorite has to be Sapnap as the pred though, even if both fiancés arent stored. I’m also just a sucker for beings that radiate heat and it’s the fact that he’s warm inside and out and can cuddle both ways that’s nice to me.
Another trope I’m becoming a fan of is Karl as the larger, regardless of if he’s in his shapeshifter form or his human form. There’s two fanarts in the g/t tag of him as the giant and the one I’m specifically thinking of is the one where Sapnap and Quackity wind up accidentally time traveling with him. That’d be a very interesting trope, him having to store the other two to protect them from whatever/whenever circumstances the trio winds up in.
Quackity as the pred is also just nice to me, though I’m biased towards the casino owner, sue me. Though I think I like him shrunken more, since he tends to put on a persona to make himself seem bigger than he is to keep himself from being hurt. It’s nice to let him hide away, get taken care of and smothered in love from his fiancés who won’t let another thing happen to him.
