i'm thinking about succession again and i'm thinking about how roman was portrayed as so childish in the last two episodes. how he gets emotional and immediately crumbles, acts like he's a kid again. he needs the comfort of his mom and his siblings. he needs to escape from the facade of being a serious businessman because that isn't him, it's always just been a persona he could put on. he never got the chance to grow up, so some part of him is always stunted, always stuck at being a little kid. he's always the little brother, the little boy, and he'll never grow out of that.

so at the end of episode 7x05, buck buys tommy's coffee without knowing what he would like and he gets it wrong. there's a thought in my head that won't leave and it is: what if buck bought the type of coffee he would usually buy eddie? there are so many similarities between eddie and tommy, it wouldn't be a leap for buck to assume tommy likes his coffee the same way as eddie. trying to get that easy relationship he has with eddie and replicating it with tommy, but tommy not liking the coffee is the actual reminder that eddie and tommy are two different people. buck needs to put in actual effort for this relationship to work.
